Generally, I have no complaints. I have been a member for some time and appreciate the benefits. However, massage therapists come and go fairly frequently, and just when I've gotten used to someone they are gone. Because of this I would really appreciate it if they kept the website up-to-date. There is a section with the backgrounds of each of the therapists, however therapists are listed that no longer work there. Additionally, there are new therapists not listed, so I have no idea of their specialty, or anything else about them. They need to take out the therapists no longer there, and list the new ones. If I knew something about them, I might want a book with them. read more

I scheduled a massage for friend and myself, and overall the experience was pleasant. The location was convenient, and the space felt warm,clean,and welcoming- great first impression. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her massage and mentioned she'd happily return. Unfortunately, my experience was a bit different. While my masseuse, Evan, was courteous, the technique didn't quite meet my expectations. There may have been a language barrier that made it challenging to communicate my preferences clearly. I stumbled upon this place when searching online for both yoga and a massage. They have numerous styles of massage and they also have Accupuncture and Chiropractic services. This place seems to have it all! I rate my massage reviews on three things. The services when booking, the ambience, and obviously the massage. So let's start with the booking services. I tried to book a last-minute massage online, but because it was last minute, the prompt said I must call. I called and left two messages, which were not returned until after the time I desired to book. Once I got a call back I spoke extensively with the young man about getting a 90 minute acupressure massage. I booked for the following day. The wellness center is located in a business park area of Alameda, tucked away in a large complex. There's plenty of parking. It's not exactly where you would normally expect these kind of services to be. That being said, the center was very pleasant and clean and the massage room itself was very pleasant. I might suggest that the music be turned down just a bit and that the linens be a bit softer or crisp. I say this because the table I had, had a flannel sheet which was a little rough, as we all know flannel sheets can get with extensive use. As I mentioned, I booked a 90 minute acupressure massage. Once I was naked and on the table, as the wonderful masseuse Camille and I started talking, we realized that I was not booked accurately. She did not specialize in acupressure massage. She mentioned that I was the second person that was booked incorrectly. She gave me the option to continue with the massage or leave, but considering I was naked and on the table and my wretched body was sorely in need, I opted to stay. Camille gave a very impressive and firm massage. She was also a delightful young lady. Her services helped soften the blow of not receiving my anticipated scheduled treatment. When the massage was finished, I went to pay and mentioned to the receptionist that I had been booked incorrectly. She was very apologetic and gave me the option to not make payment until after I had a manager contact me. I really appreciated that and applaud her for her customer service. I still hope to receive my acupressure massage. I've been trying out different modalities to see which style my body responds to best. As I mentioned, Bespoke Wellness has many other services and I think it has a very promising future in the community if they can improve their booking services. read more

I absolutely love Bespoke Wellness. I've been coming here for years. I believe I found out about this place (back when it was Body Techniques) through Groupon and have been coming back ever since. All the therapists are skilled. The location and rooms are very clean. The customer service is good. I always prefer Bespoke Wellness over other massage places because other places will massage me on the wrong area. Feels like there rubbing on my bones as opposed to my muscles. I always get deep tissue massages so when they're done wrong it hurts. But all the masseuses at Bespoke know what they're doing! Piet has been my number one masseuse to go to for years. She has a very holistic approach in her massages. I always come out the massages better than when I came in. Though I come in for massages, I always enjoy the talks I have with Piet. She's so sweet and funny. I also learn so much from her. I've also had good massages with Dawn, Sareena, Cindy, and Mario. I also finally became a member. Thank you to the front desk ladies for encouraging me to get one. I was getting 2-3 massages a month. When you become a member, you basically get 3 massages a month for the price of 2. It was supposed to be a "girls day at the spa" today on MLK Day. The 3 of us all made 3:30pm appointments. Received confirmation, via text & email, that our appointments were confirmed. 12:24pm on the day of the appointment, 1 of 3 appointments is cancelled because a masseuse calls in sick(?). 3 hours before?!?! BeSpoke starts taking appointments at 10am. Really?! Each of us are coming from 3 different places; however, I am closest and offered to MY friend she can take my appointment slot at 3:30pm and I'll take the 2:15pm. Were we compensated?! Per, Arch, whom my friend spoke to on the phone, we were to receive 20% off for this inconvenience, but because everything is hands free, I won't see how much I was charged until days later. My suggestion: CALL your clients ASAP if a masseuse has called in sick vs sending a text that your appointment is cancelled. I mean, this is a business, so what happened to common courtesy of calling?? Why is it ok to charge us if we cancel AFTER 24 hours, but its ok to cancel on us 3 hours BEFORE our appointment and not get compensated?!?!?! No one was at the front desk when I arrived at 2:11pm. My masseuse, Tommy, eventually greeted me and I quickly filled out a form and off I went. He was GREAT as a masseuse. No issue with him and 5* for finding all my knots. I have not seen one of my friends in over 4 years because of the pandemic/life and today I was excited about spending time with her! NOPE! We ended up spending time outside in the parking lot, as I had waited for my 2 friends to finish their spa appointments. The 3 of us have been here before, pre-pandemic, and it has certainly changed. I cannot say enough about BeSpoke and Sage. She literally saved my life. After an emergency abdominal surgery and telling 12 doctors across 7 specialties over 6 months that something was really wrong, a friend recommended I see Sage to ease the pain and assist in my physical recovery. During my intake exam, Sage found a visually noticeable lump on my neck that was diagnosed as cancer a month later. It was caught just in time and I underwent surgery shortly thereafter. Outside of that, Sage has helped my recovery immensely! She thinks for herself, not from a textbook and is entirely intuitive to what your body needs! Gentle and with care she caters her approach but isn't afraid to use her strength when need be. She also makes the most helpful of suggestions and has helped me to heal/correct things that western medicine couldn't. This place has turned into a horrible business. Recently, a member of my family had an appointment for a massage and they called him 40 minutes before the appointment to cancel the appointment, saying that they didn't have enough massage therapists. He was already on the way in to the appointment on the road. When he complained , they said 'since you complain about it, you cannot be a member here anymore' and they rescinded his membership! They didn't do anything at all to remedy the situation or offer to help in anyway and were total total jerks about the situation, which was 100%, entirely, their own fault to begin with. Not a way to run a business: they create a problem entirely, and then don't resolve it, yet expect no complaints or backlash from the customer? Seriously? Manager at Bespoke Wellness in Alameda, Kamoni Jackson is not an honest person. Update: Kamoni's response below is super indicative of the type of customer no-service you will receive here. You've been warned! You can tell she has an attitude problem as she thinks the second a customer brings up an issue or even complains, that they are not being respectful. Seriously? Don't use 'respect' as some sort of excuse for your own lack of customer service... Further, if you sort the reviews by date, you can see clearly that ever since she became manager, only then did the reviews start being all mostly negative. Mediocre massages and poor management. The vibe of this place is weird. It's in a mostly abandoned office building on the edge of Alameda, and feels very much like walking into an unhappy office. We get what you pay for: a no frills budget massage. Some of which are good, but most of mine were not. I've been here maybe 5-10 times over the years but my last experience finally has me all the way out on this location. I found it because they offer some nice discounts, but I've come to realize why they are constantly chasing new clients. Booked an hour and a half massage. Got an hour. I came in for a 1hr facial plus 30 min massage on 6/4. The facial was fine, but I had a terrible massage with Kamil. I asked for firm pressure but she was extremely forceful/rough and kept jerking on my joints. I have had many strong massages, including ones from physical therapists, but this was very rough. She began the massage by pressing down forcefully on random parts of my back and shoulders like she was trying to do a Chiro adjustment. When she did the massage, she kept bouncing around body parts like she didn't have a plan. She would work on one shoulder, squeeze my foot, come back up to my shoulder, and then my low back and kept switching around. At one point, she jerked my thumb forcefully into adduction. It was painful, and I was worried she was going to injure me multiple times. She was really digging into me with her fingers. One of her nails felt sharp, but I didn't realize that she had scratched me until I got home. My back had 2 long scratches and a bunch of large red welts in the areas where she was digging in. I could've overlooked that it was just a terrible massages but midway through the massage, she put her cellphone on my butt. I moved it, and she apologized, stating that she put it there bc she watches crime shows while massaging and thought it was a discrete place to put her phone. It was as if she thought I wouldn't notice her phone on me. I am extremely displeased with the service that I received and the lack of professionalism I experienced. They did cancel my membership so I won't have to pay for that and we're sorry but Im done with this place. They constantly have new staff at the front desk. No idea what they are doing. I was going and paying out of pocket for acupuncture for depression and anxiety and this place besides my treatments have caused my anxiety to be worse.
