I'm a pretty picky when it comes to massages, but this is my FAVORITE massage place ever. I used to live aboard and I have gotten massages in Vietnam, China, Thailand, The Philippines and I would say this is by far the BEST. They use good technique and the pressure is deep just how I like it. I have gotten the chance to get massages from all of them and I would say all the ladies technique and pressure are good. I am pretty spontaneous and would book last minute and they are very accommodating ! I usually request Elaine but after getting a massage from Hai Ying, I was blown away. I had this neck pain for a really long time... I got multiple rounds of acupuncture for at least 6 months to a year and it never got better. Each time I move my head left or right, it was super painful. After one message with Hai Ying, the pain was gone. I work from home so I gotten alot of knots and I believe some of the knots on my knees or somewhere was pulling on my muscles and causing pain my neck and shoulders. Honestly, I was super surprised I no longer had neck pain after my massage with her. After that, I been going ever since and would invite my friends whenever I could. I recently moved to LA but I do have family in the Bay Area so whenever I come back, I ALWAYS make sure to book a session with Hai Ying. Her techniques are also unique and I LOVE how she customized the massage based on the knots and my request. I appreciate how she doesn't follow a basic routine but would adapt based on the customers needs. Overall, my experience has been amazing and I would recommend them to anyone who has pain or need to untangle stubborn knots. read more

Hadley's Spa - Massage Therapy Near Me - San Leandro, California

In dire need of a prenatal massage and wanting to ensure that I found a place that was vetted by others, I came across Hadley's Spa. I recognized their name, as they have been a San Leandro/Hayward establishment for years now. I had the most relaxing massage that ensured every knot, pain, and ache was addressed. The massage therapist took extra care to ensure my comfort by giving me extra pillows and checking in on me from time to time throughout the massage. I walked out of there feeling brand new. I've been back since my first visit, and will continue to do so! They have a nice, calming atmosphere in their practice, and parking is available by private lot. It is a little hard to find the first time around as you can drive right past it on Marina Blvd, but they do their best by putting a sign out front to their driveway. read more

This is my go to place for the past few years! They would usually ask which area of emphasis and their service is top notch! I tried a few other places in the area a while back but, this is the place I stuck to. Easy to schedule, decent parking, and fairly easy to get in and out of! I usually get the 90 minute massage. 60 if I don't have as much time read more

My partner and I came in for an impromptu couples massage on a Saturday afternoon. The space was very clean and tranquil. The staff was very friendly and made sure pressure was good and that we were comfortable throughout the massage. Great experience! read more

First and last time I ever come here. It started off great I found this place they offered a first time discount. Came in loved the massage until the end. We paid $144 for service and paid tip. They have a "suggested tip" $20 each person if you liked the service and 25$ for excellent service. That's outrageous. We already paid the service a tip is not required. She asked why I tipped so little if it was good so I paid a bit more which I was not okay with. You gave me a discount for the first time were you trying to make the money back with the tip? Never again. The attitude about the tip was amazing even better she made a comment and said whatever you want a tip is okay but you're harassing me about getting more tip. Honestly it was very rude and unprofessional. What if I didn't have enough to tip how you wanted. I paid the service and paid what I was able to give. It's very hard in this world right now to be harassing anyone about giving more tip than what they already received. A tip is an option not something you have to do. DO NOT COME HERE OR YOULL GET HARASSED FOR MORE TIP FOR WHAT THEY THINK THEY DESERVE FOR THE SERVICE To add another thing. A TIP IS NOT REQUIRED LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN. Yeah I left you a $5 tip because that's what you deserved with the attitude and service you provided. Just how you said we are not god and have families to look after. We do not have to give you what you think we pay the tip. And already paid the service you clearly don't know how to run a business read more

If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would!! Best massage I have ever had. Definitely looking forward to my next session. Great customer care, clean, and priced at a decent price point. They take their time with you, no rushing, no generic massage, just pure bliss. Don't hesitate, schedule it now! We did a couple massage and they did not disappoint!! read more

The massage was below average. The majority of the appointment was spent with the therapist standing on me back with a sheet covering my back. There wasn't actually a lot of hands on massaging. The cupping was good. Despite not having a great experience, I still wanted to leave a tip and my masseuse Demanded more money. I thought the tip was generous due to the poor quality of the massage however she wanted more so I didn't get my card back until I said add a $40 tip. I won't be going back. read more

Do not come here they expect you to pay $20 tip. Service was horrible. My partner did not like her massage. Just simple how she said we are not gods we have families to feed we paid for the service and you expect a tip for shitty service. $5 is what you deserved and that's why I left you $12 each. Never again. You can respond and make yourself look good sweetie but you are a horrible business owner and harass clients for tips. In reality we don't have to tip you we already paid the service you are greedy and it's sad. We live in a place where we all struggle and you're harassing for tip? Get some help please. read more

I almost forgot to give them a review lol I should have done it last year. We always go here at least 2-3x a year w my husband and we get the couples massage in one room. Went again today for our anniversary last month. Kia and Hayleen did a pretty good job. Great service! I just noticed that last time we were there we were not served with hot tea. They used to do that. The place is pretty small but is clean. I like deep tissue massage but last time I tried their Thai massage since I have been wanting to do that. However, I got so sore and sick the next day which is okay for me since I know that it's just a normal reaction to cleanse out all the toxins from my body. My husband always like soft massage though. He's such a baby lol I highly recommend this place. Call for appointment if you want a couple's massage in one room. I forgot to take pictures inside lol! I always schedule around 5 or 6 pm then after the massage, we just go next door for a Japanese meal. So perfect coz I love ramen after w a side of sushi or sashimi !!! Sooo comforting! read more

Pros: -Booking was easy. I just sent them a message through WhatsApp and they got back to me within minutes. -I showed up 10 mins early and they were able to see me immediately. -I had the 90 minute deep tissue massage with Elaine. She went in!! It hurt so good. She removed my knots and knew exactly where to focus her pressure. I left feeling brand new! Highly recommend Elaine--one of the best massages I've ever received. The massage had oil included. -$115 for a 90 min deep tissue massage. Very well priced! -I received a free bottled water at the end Cons: - location is on a busy street, easily hard to miss - parking is limited - the walls are thin, so you can hear conversations that are happening in the lobby while getting a massage. The waterfall sound drowns it out, but not really. Overall, I'd come back again! read more

This has been the only place I will go to. They are just the best. I promise your body will love you after a massage. So relaxing we often do couple massages too read more

I guess I didn't get connected with one of their better masseuses because my massage was not very good. She spent a lot of time rubbing me over the sheet, more than what I think is normal. Then, the massage itself was just a lot of rubbing the same spot over and over. No long strokes, nothing. Just rubbing the same area and very hard. I kept saying 'softer' because it was painful and I was actually tensing up instead of relaxing. I don't think I'll come back. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time today for massages. He said he will never go anyplace else. They were awesome!

I've been going here for a couples massage for about a little over a year. I have tried other places but Hadley's is the best! I'm moving to the peninsula and will still travel to Hadley's because they know what my body needs without me having to say anything other than Deep Tissue, please. -easy scheduling (WhatsApp) -always accommodated my last minute requests -always friendly and professional -so relaxing -great value I hold my stress throughout my body (knots in my forearms!) and they got EVERY SINGLE KNOT. I was struggling for weeks with such pain and tension. After one 90 minute session, I was able to move again! read more

For all new clients, the building is hard to locate because it shares the same parking lot as the Kigawa Sushi and the massage building is behind the suhi building. This would have been helpful when I called to make an appointment. This place was NOT what I was expecting. The only reason I opted to try this place was because of the ratings. I share the same sentiment as those who gave mixed reviews. I spent the first 10mins trying to explain my aches and pain, and I kept getting, "just tell me low, medium or high." Then another lady came in and said she would do the massage because I spoke too much english to the other lady and I needed to just use the simple words, "light or harder." There was NO consultation at all or to discuss where my aches and concerns were. I was told, they are all good and to just relax. While some of the tension was released, it came with a lot of asking and explaining where to focus on the massage. The "therapist" is not formally trained and if you need a RUB down at $85 with a REQUIRED $20 automatic tip - YOU DO NOT GET TO SELECT YOUR OWN TIP - then this place is ok. A rub down at $105 (with tip) was ok and will not go back or recommend this place. ---- Business Owner who does not accept honest reviews and replies back not accepting honest reviews, this is for Yelp readers who reads honest reviews. read more

1/30/20 I came here for a much needed massage. I had the deep tissue and cupping option. Anna was my masseuse and she was amazing! I would highly recommend coming here for a massage. I was mesmerized how amazing I felt after that massage. She did a phenomenal job, she got all my kinks and knots out. I write this as I am in a daze from such a relaxing time. I'm so glad I came here. Come here! You won't be disappointed. read more

Hubby and I went to Hadley's for my birthday to get a couple's massage and a facial. I sent a message via Yelp about 2 weeks prior just in case to book an appointment. The owner responded quickly and we were able to get our appointments scheduled. The day of our appointment we arrived about 10-15 minutes early and we were greeted. I forgot her name, but she was super friendly. She asked us if we needed to go use the restroom before starting and afterwards she told us that we can undress and go underneath the blanket. 2 masseuse came in after we were done and waiting, I believe their names are Maggie and Anna. They were so kind and attentive to the areas that we wanted to focus on. We both asked for medium pressure. At first it didn't feel like it was enough pressure, but once she started to work out the kinks on my shoulders, it was just the right amount of pressure. The massage felt amazing! The facial was just as great! We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely be back again! read more

This is the only place I go so far, I have back pain and tried few place around my house, but No one can really help, I found this place on Yelp. When I decided to give them a try - - first time, I didn't expect too much as usual, but after the massage @ Hadley's Spa, it felt unique, actually for more than a week i still feel better. Definitely I will be back in the future. I Recommend this place to anyone who have body pain & need to FIX. read more

I appreciated that this place was able to accomodate me on such short notice. The reason why i'm giving 3 stars is because: 1. They take you into the massage room right away without asking your medical issues or any limitations on your body. Im the type of person that really doesnt speak up for myself but it wouldve been appreciated if i were asked if i had any medical conditions like other places. 2. The massage did hurt and i never felt a painful massage. I did speak up about the pain and i did emphasize that i wanted like mild pressure. She was mostly using her elbows and her hands were rough. The positive thing about this experience is that i felt like the tightness on my back got better. My favorite part was the head and shoulder massage. Overall, i paid about 110 including $15 tip for the massage that i felt was reasonable but not worth it. Again, i like to support small businesses but come at your own risk. This place is crossed off my list. I even wanted to try the cupping but i will find somewere else. read more

I usually don't get massages but my back was in a lot of pain recently so I looked up spots nearby. This place had good reviews but I ended up disappointed. The massage was subpar and didn't focus on my lower back as requested. It seemed like there's a set full body routine the massueses go through. I tried to make modifications midway but the person servicing me talked me out of it by saying "everything was connected". She also ran after me for a tip which I gave because I'm very non-confrontational. I wish I hadn't. Also, tip: credit is not accepted, cash and debit only. read more

Honestly, one of the best massages I have ever received. Haiying really coached me on my body and went in on helping my hips. She wasn't afraid to really do a deep dive on all knot's. She definitely convinced me that this needs to happen Monthly. Your health is your wealth. I truly appreciate people like that. read more

I'm really sad to give this business 2 stars. Several years ago, I would give them 5 but the last 3 times that I've gone, I've gotten unsolicited comments about me gaining weight. All the massage therapists are skilled and that's why I'm giving them 2 stars but the psychological damage that I've experienced from these comments have lead me to overexercise, diet, and have an unhealthy relationship with food. I am writing this as my own psychologist encouraged me to speak up in hopes that no one will ever be bullied into losing weight again. I know that the last 2 years have been really stressful for people especially with the pandemic and not having access to gyms like we did pre-pandemic. Getting these comments about me gaining weight completely reversed the calm I felt during my massage. I thought it was innocent to comment on my weight at the time so I kept going back to give them another chance. Every time I left hoping I would feel better, I felt upset and inadequate in my own skin. I felt especially vulnerable especially when you get a massage you remove your clothes so to be judged and say that you gained weight in front of your significant other is just inappropriate and disrespectful in my opinion. Again, they are great at massage and cupping but I do hope that they will learn from this situation and not make anyone feel this way again. Sadly, I won't be returning to this business after 3 occasions of experiencing these unsolicited comments about my weight. read more

2 star for ease of booking on the same day and actually using hands to massage. I really wished I listened to the other reviewers who didn't give it 4-5 stars. Here are some of the concerns I had: 1. NO intake form asking you about your health status/condition. If someone had spinal issues, they'd probably get injured. 2. The person who massaged me stood on me majority of the time. I did not request for an Ashiatsu massage. She used her hands probably for 10 min max which was the best part of my session. 3. There was no methodology to her process jumping around to different areas. I asked her to focus on the areas I wanted but she insisted and kept working on my forearms. 4. PLEASE BE AWARE that they will tell you that "minimum tip" is 20%. WTF!?!? You can't force people to pay a "suggested tip". Hadley's-at least have a sign that says "20% required tip". I understand most people never had a proper massage by a Certified Massage Therapist so just a little heads up for the rest of the people. read more

Got my first prenatal massage here and it was beautiful. I lucked up on the parking for my morning appointment, hoping it's okay during the later times. The vibe was great and the massage was perfect. She asked about the pressure and adjusted as needed. I will be back. The prices were affordable, I paid cash and for an hour, I paid $75. Left a $15 tip without any pressure to do so. I'm also in the service industry so I believe in tipping when it's appropriate. You won't regret getting rubbed down here. :) read more

I requested an hour and half massage and I asked for a random masseuse. I was given Elaine. I cannot explain how well she took care of me and made sure each area on my back needed to be relieved of the pressure. I constantly am working on the computer. Initial thought of entering this spa, I thought possibly 3 sessions to relief my pressure points but after this first session - I think another session would be suffice... until the next time, Most massage places would focus only on the shoulder mainly and work slightly the rest of the area of the body, not in Elaine case, she thoroughly make sure which spots are more tight and she focuses on the area and moves on - which I appreciate! I most definitely will be back. If you make an appointment, do request for Elaine, you will not be disappointed! read more

Hadley's Spa - Massage Therapy Near Me - San Leandro, California

Massage was ok. The transaction left an awful impression. $85 for one hour. I only had $10 cash to tip, the masseuse turned the sign saying 20% is suggested so she charged me $92 to make up the 20% tip. Suggested? That's basically forced. Also tried to justify saying because there was an extra 10 minutes. That was a mistake on their part when I told them 1 hour. How do you expect a customer to keep time with their head faced down? I saw great reviews saying it's a gem but honestly would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it came highly recommended by a friend. Pros: none Cons: -very limited parking -the massage was ok, not worth my drive from CV -the masseuse ended my 1 hour session 5 minutes early -when I paid (including a 12% tip) she turned the sign over which said "strongly recommended 20% tip". When places force you to tip a certain amount, it just leaves an awful feeling like they don't really care about the customer. NEVER GOING BACK! read more

Here are the reasons why I gave this rating: I requested a massage + cupping, I only had an hour so I couldn't do the full 90 minutes. The massage was great, they use the original cupping method with glass cups and fire, which I love. Now this could be a language barrier but I pointed out the focus areas and how uncomfortable I had been for some time and I still ended up with a full body massage (if I knew this would happen I would have tried to make more time because I needed this) Also, cupping alone is approx 30 minutes, so I basically ended up with a 30 minute massage. So I'm walking out and she asks how my massage was and I say Great!, I pay my $120 and had some cash so I hand her $17 and she points to this sign that says " good = 20%" "Great=25%" Tip. So I hand her $23 and plan to not come back which feels terrible since it's in my neighborhood. If they are this persistent with tips they should just be included in their prices. read more

See Mikey! Probably one of the best massages I've ever had. Booked a 90 minute deep tissue. I told her my problematic areas and she hit all the right spots. The price is very reasonable for the amount of time and quality. I am definitely coming back. Thank you! read more

You want a deep tissue massage where they really make sure your muscles are getting kneaded and the knots are pushed out? This is your place. She literally has so much strength in the massage that it hurts. Not gonna lie, I did find bruises afterwards but my sore achy spots are a lot of less achy. Like everyone says, booking is super easy. I whatsapped them on a saturday night after their biz hours...not knowing and they responded within 30 min. They only take cash or debit though so be prepared. There is a small parking lot that they share with others but since their spot is deep in the lot, it is a bit tricky to find. read more

Love this place!! Came across this spa because I was at the sushi restaurant next door. She was closed when I got there, but there was a sign that said she was with a customer. I called and left a message about an appointment. Shortly after I got a text she wasn't able to talk on the phone but was able to quickly book an appt for an hour later after my lunch. Had a deep tissue massage. Super relaxing, got all my tension and knots out. I felt light as a feather!! I'll be back again next time I'm needing a massage. read more

Phenomenal! I'm in town on business. Strained my lower back yesterday, spent today on the plane, and will be on my feet for the next three days. I was so lucky to be able to find an opening. Not only convenient but one of THE best messages I've ever had. As a powerlifter, I've had a few! My back feels great but she also released the stress in my upper back and neck. I called around a few places in San Leandro after work and some where already closed. I was so Thankful Hadley's Spa had an available appointment at 7pm My first impression when walking in the location is that I noticed the cleanliness and friendly staff. I got the therapeutic massage; originally I had requested for 1 hour but Maggie did such a great job that I extended my appointment to 1 hour and 30 minutes. She was very thorough and dedicated more time to specific spots in my back and shoulders. She frequently asked if the pressure was ok.
