That really stressed my mother. We were under the impression that it was, but in hindsight, I don't think was specifically asked. The massage lady (can't remember her name) did say she would be happy to help my mother in, but the massage lady was 15 minutes late. I wasn't going to go in with my mother, but since it started out a bit confusing, I did. The massage lady is probably experienced, but elderly disabled people seems to annoy her. I could see that my mother was getting more and more stressed, so we left in 15 minutes. The massage lady charged us full price. We understand that we had booked for an hour and that if we hadn't, someone else could have filled that slot. It's hard to find people who are good working on older people. This one really works only on younger people - it's not therapeutic ---- she's more of a recreational day spa type. read more

I promise you won't regret it. I decided to get a massage after a long time as I've been experiencing frequent headaches and tightness to my legs from working out. Before you start, Carrie asks you what issues you're having so that she can focus on those areas. And let me tell you, I've been to other places where I've been asked the same, but I feel like they completely forgot about it when they started massaging. Carrie didn't. She definitely spent more time focusing on my areas of complaints. I got the 60 min deep tissue massage. I love me some painful and feel good later massage and she definitely delivered. The studio doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is well-decorated and calming on the inside and Carrie is professional and thoughtful in her treatment. Parking is easy. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see her again until recently in 2023! I once again had a great experience to help relieve the knots I had in my back, neck pain, and above all else - she was able to massage my scar tissue from a ruptured Achilles. When I arrived there was parking available in the back and she had a private space in a small office building and a cozy room for my massage. The massage table and blankets were warm and very comfortable. Carrie gave me a great Swedish massage/ it was very relaxing (midway through I likely dozed off) and checked in on the pressure early on as well to make any adjustments. I have had a long history of bad massage experiences. Some have been on the lower end and others on the higher end. I always like to use Yelp to do my research and that's exactly how I came across the Healing Lotus. Booking the appointment was a bit tricky...I believe in the end my wife wound up doing it for me. Carrie works for herself which is nice because you only have to deal directly with her. When I arrived to her place of business I realized it's only her that operates out of there which is also a plus because the experience is very personable and doesn't feel rushed. She really took her time to hear me out about what I was experiencing. I was under a great deal of stress at the time and I tend to carry a lot of tension in my neck area. She made the area of focus my neck and really took the time to target that and also checked in that the amount of pressure she was using was right. She also explained how the first massage was going to go. She was going to work on loosening the tense area and that on the next visit she would be able to dig deeper. She sounded like she really knew her stuff and was very thorough in explaining. That experience was great and for that I'm giving her 5 stars...even though the initial booking process was tricky to navigate. I never had the follow up appointment and am currently waiting on her reply as I've texted and also left a voicemail but have not heard back yet. I also recall attempting a follow-up in the past and I gave up as I never heard back. She is that good though (5 stars)...if you can get booked. I came in for a prenatal massage. I had never experienced one but since I have a lot of muscle pain during my last month of pregnancy I thought to give it a try. I texted Carrie to schedule a time and date and she was able to fit me in the following day. With this being my first time Carrie made me feel comfortable and she explained what she was going to do before the massage. The oil/lotion or whatever she uses on your body makes you feel moisturized. My husband touched my arm and he said I felt extremely soft. So Carrie does indeed use nice products. Went to see Carrie for the first time this evening, based on Yelp reviews and the fact I hadn't treated myself to a massage in over two years. I loved that she was super local to me and available on short notice on a Sunday (possibly just a coincidence, not a stated guarantee), which is always my preferred massage day after my long morning run/prep before the workweek. Anyway, Carrie is obviously very experienced in what to ask in advance and in how to adjust pressure when facing sensitivity to knots. I was totally impressed with her attention to the parts I pointed out (neck/shoulders, lower legs/feet) within the scheme of the whole-body massage. She uses lotion rather than oil, which I certainly appreciate. I prefer to be softened rather than greased up as for a bbq. As of my writing, it sounds as though she's been at her studio for about 3 years and has expanded from one room into the adjacent spaces. She's working on signage. In the meantime, I hope she updates her website regarding pricing, because I was a little surprised to learn at the end of service that the charge was not $65/hr, per the website, but $80.
