I don't ever write a review, however, I felt really strongly about this one: I've been to this salon a number of times in the last few years and the quality of work is great, however, I will not be coming back. The owner is unprofessional, in that, she speaks negatively about her employees and about other clients. Her employees are very sweet and hardworking, and to talk about other clients to the client that she is servicing, is just absolutely unnecessary and unprofessional. It made me uncomfortable, to be honest. I can't be the only client that is a witness to this, because if someone is talking to you about everybody else, then they are talking about you too. In the future, I hope that the owner can find more upbeat and positive topics to discuss with her clients rather than gossiping behind her employees and client's backs. It's not nice, nor is it appropriate. I come to the salon to relax and to escape reality and my experience gets ruined when the owner is so negative and speaks unkindly of others. Open on Labor Day and was able to accommodate our gel pedicures. This was my first time here. We got 2 gel pedicures. If you want a simple and quick pedicure, this place is a decent choice. When I get pedicures, I want my foot calluses scrubbed and buffed well (not scraped) and I want an amazing massage. The massage was good but super super short; and they literally used the buffer on the bottom of my foot 2 strokes so it was not done to my satisfaction at all. It's also super inconvenient that they weren't taking credit cards today, they were only taking zelle and Venmo; I feel like they should've had a sign posted so that I knew that information before we sat down for our services. They also cut my daughter's toe during her pedicure and she had to point out another mistake that was made but they did correct it. The lady who did my daughter's pedicure only massaged one of her feet which pissed me off especially because it is her birthday! They also ran out of the polish color we selected. They didnt help us put on our shoes; they just moved on to the next client. This was definitely not worth $48 (which is actually a fair price for a pedicure) which says a lot! I have been to several other salons in the Bay Area (especially Oakland/Alameda) and can't find any other place that compares to Victoria's results. I work in healthcare and wash my hands up to 30+ times per day when at work (5 days per week)! I find that it's not worth it to have regular (or even gel) polish as it chips within a few days of work. Most skilled nail technicians can make my SNS manicures last for 1-2 weeks, but Victoria has mastered her craft to a new level. She produces consistent manicures that last for 2-3 weeks without chipping. Every. Single. Time! Her technique involves dipping multiple times with thin coats, resulting in a perfect edge that doesn't lift or chip like other SNS manicures tend to after 7-10 days. The best part is that I get to keep my natural nails and SNS has actually made them stronger! Aside from her unparalleled skills, Victoria has built a rapport with dozens of loyal clients over the years and knows them well. I feel welcomed almost like family each time I make an appointment. Our conversations pick up right where they left off weeks ago. Victoria always asks me about my mom and my grandma after I brought them in to treat them to a manicure a few months ago while they were visiting from out of state. They do a nice job with their pedicures. However, they don't show you a price list before they begin. I am used to salons showing prices- either on the wall or handing you a card. In this salon there is no mention of charges until you go to pay. The really big surprise came when we went to pay-- if you use a credit card they charge 10% of the total bill!! Since the pandemic I rarely use cash. I have seen nail salons that charge $1 to use a card but NEVER 10% I called my credit card company and they only charge venders 3%. So WHY the 10% charge? The credit card company suggested to me that with credit cards there is a paper trail, which requires stores to pay taxes. This salon deals in cash and no offer of a receipt- either paper or email. Also the 10% off advertised on YELP for first time clients no longer is valid. In summary, nice pedicure, odd pricing. read more

I was warmly greeted and seen within 10 minutes of arriving which is a huge plus! Once my pedicure got started, I noticed that tools were not sanitized and wrapped up before use. They would just wash them off in the sink. She started working on my toes and when I told her something hurt or to stop, it took a few times for her to listen. If a client is saying to stop, it should take one time. Once my manicure started, it was very rough and I have high tolerance for pain. Cutting at my nail beds until my fingers felt raw. I don't think it was soft enough just yet but she went and did it anyways. Plus there are bubbles and unevenness present on a few of my nails. Very mediocre work. Stumbled upon this place to meet with a friend over pedicures. Wonderful customer service -- everyone was so warm and inviting. The spa chair wasn't working properly, but my toes looked great and the foot message was excellent! Price was $40 for a regular pedicure (no gel). Van does my pedicures. She is so sweet. Her work is neat and she doesn't complain if you ask for an adjustment or small change. You do have to make an appointment but I actually love that because I hate waiting around endlessly. I decided to try coming here since the reviews were amazing but I had one of the worst experiences ever. Pedicure was amazing - I will give them that. My feet were exfoliated for a good few minutes and are baby smooth. And the woman working on me took her time to paint my toenails well. I have small toenails so sometimes people cut corners. But the feet look great! My poor experience came from the manicure. The woman doing my fingernails used a drill to remove my previous gel. I didn't realize until she was done drilling that she over drilled on my middle finger nail bed and damaged it. There was a huge divot in the aftermath. She didn't realize it until she started painting my nails. She called over the owner Victoria and I was asked if I had acrylics, which is no. I've only ever had natural nails. I became very upset because this kind of damage can be permanent. And then the woman had to take off the gel and took so long, like 45 minutes. Once she was done, Victoria took me to fix the nails. She repaired the divot with SNS and repainted the nails. She was so gentle and kind and apologetic. But unfortunately just a day later my nails are already chipping. I wish I could say I would go back since I had a great pedicure and Victoria was so lovely but I don't think it's worth the risk. read more

I used to love going here and had great results. Only problem is actually getting an appointment. I would make an appointment , come in and wait 45 minutes, while they also accepted every walk in despite overbooked. I got tired of arriving for my appointments and have to wait forever. I tried to go back after 2.5 years and when I called to make an appointment they kept putting me on hold and couldn't come up with a time so I got tired and hung up. This is my new favorite nail salon! I've been wanting to do SNS powder dip nails for some time but could not figure out which local nail salon knew how to do them! Luckily, one of my friends and her sister are loyal patrons of Victoria's and recommended I come. This was the best experience! Victoria is a sweetheart and so good at what she does! She was quick, efficient and super skilled. She did my powder dip nails effortlessly and helped me pick the right color. I love love love my nails. I don't think I can ever go back to gel manicures. I love that powder dip nails are quick dry and last longer and don't need a UV light (anybody think all that exposure to the UV lights will make your fingers wrinkly AF one day?) I'll definitely be back for a new color soon! But not too soon since these nails will last forever (Updated 12/1/18: five stars also for Anna! Victoria's Salon is simply the best. You'll need an appointment almost always to come in (even pre-COVID), that's how booked they are. The locals know that this place is the place to go for nails. I wanted to update this review to comment on the safety measures taken by the staff. I feel completely comfortable coming in for services because of the mask requirements, plexiglass glass installations at tables and pedicure chairs, and availability and enforcement of the use of hand sanitizer. I decided to try this place after looking on yelp and seeking a new nail salon close to my house. This place popped in my head after remembering one of my close friends use to get her nails done here. I made a same dappointment and came on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't packed at all, I even got a park right in front. It's meters so make sure to have change handy. I came about 20 minutes early and was seated in about 10 minutes. She started with my nails first which I normally don't like because I want my feet done and dry by the time my nails are done but it's what ever ( my feet dried pretty quick) I immediately felt comfortable when she was giving me advice on the best way to get my nails with the shape and color I want. She was very quick and I loved the end result. I just wish I would of got them longer. With my pedicure, I'm really picky because I like to get my feet throughly massaged and cleaned up but I feel like she rushed through the process, they were nicely done but I would rather someone take their time with my pedicure. After my removal Victoria asked if I wanted a new set and that she would be able to give me one in just about and hour or less.
