I was around the area and decided to come here for a 45 min deep tissue massage. The service, ambience, and staff were all fantastic. When you check in, they give you a paper to fill out where you'd like a massage at, how long, what type, etc. I had Vivienne give me a massage and she focused on all the areas I listed. I've done a handful of massages and this one was the best I ever had. I feel so refreshed afterwards. For 45 minutes, the massage was $60 which I felt was so so worth it and very reasonable. read more

Super dangerous experience. Without warning, the tall woman jumped on my low back/spine and caused pain. I've had deep tissue massage from other places but Solace was not very careful with their movements. Then I asked for another masseuse so Judy came in but instead of a massage, she lightly touched me in a ticklish way. Also, they don't speak English so it's very difficult to request pressure level and focus. FYI: they make you pay upfront before the service. And the first masseuse rushed me to undress and that was a little stressful. Pros: The two masseuses were pretty friendly and nice even though I did not enjoy the session. The studio is also very clean and in a walkable convenient area. read more

I stopped in for a deep tissue massage the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The therapist was very good at her job and I left feeling much lighter. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is bc there is no real sound barrier between the hallway and your room as its only divider is a curtain. It didn't ruin the experience but it would have made it even better to have more quiet privacy. read more

Came in hoping to relax and relieve some of the tension on my body. The place was nice and clean, gentle atmosphere. But during my session there were bunch of people walking around and talking loudly next door. The massage was good and firm enough (sometimes a bit too much, but I've asked for the big amount of pressure myself). Although, at the end I realized that the discomfort I came in with, only got worse. Such pain, to the point I can't turn or lift up my head. Another thing that made me uncomfortable is how demanding and demonstrative the lady was about the tips. An upsetting experience. read more

Solace Massage Therapy - Reflexology Near Me - San Leandro, California

I went there today to get a massage and when I got there, there was someone who walked in behind me. Two Asian ladies come outside and one short, one one tall one the tall one ask what type of service I want, but before she asked me she asks who came first Me or the lady that was sitting down the lady that was sitting down said that I came first. Moving forward I was asking questions about the massage because I noticed it may be under new ownership. The lady who waited on me, spoke great English, however when I proceeded to ask questions about the different type of massages because then maybe I want to try something different she claims she didn't speak English. Meanwhile, she speaking clear English. Then she asked Me which Massage I wanted it so I said I wanted to 45 minutes and then she says well that's $85. I said no it's not. I'm looking at the price list and then she kept saying oh I'm sorry you're right it is it's $55. She asked me three times the type of massage I want it. I said I want to 45 minutes because that's the only time I have available. I have other things to do for the rest of the day and she kept saying it was $ 85, then corrected herself to say oh, no, it's $85. Then she said it's $55. When I asked her how much a copy cost, because at one point cupping was included in a massage, she said, oh, it's $10 extra for the cupping. I replied, OK. Then I followed her to the back, and she took me to a room, which I didn't really like because it was very dark, unlike the other rooms I've been to before. She told me this was the only one available, but I said, don't worry about it. I'll book my massage another time. When I said that, she asked what was wrong. I told her I didn't like the vibes and that I'm a firm believer in energy, and if I don't like your energy, I don't want you to massage me. Needless to say, I will probably go another day or find somewhere else. I've been here multiple times, and the service has been great, but today I wasn't very pleased. I also wasn't happy that she asked me to pay upfront, whereas before, I paid after the massage. However, she did not ask the person who went before me, a Filipino woman, for papers before she took her back for her massage. read more

My GO TO massage. $65 cash - $70cards. I always choose Nancy for my masseuse because she will focus on the point of interest for me. She also noticed I had a scar from my knee surgery and was careful but I told it was fine to rub my knee cap! Lol she's so sweet and amazing. read more

Solace Massage Therapy - Birthday gift for my cousin. Thai hot stone - Reflexology Near Me - San Leandro, California

I've been coming to Solace Massage for years, and it's consistently been a place of comfort and quality. Over time, I've seen several therapists move on, but the owner has a real gift for finding talented professionals who maintain the high standards this place is known for. Big kudos to the owner and the amazing staff for keeping things top-notch. I've noticed some reviews mentioning therapists "begging" for tips. Personally, I think it's important to understand that tipping is a standard part of the massage and spa industry. If your massage didn't meet expectations, you can absolutely reflect that in your tip--or choose not to return. That said, the chances of having a subpar experience at Solace are very low. I've always left feeling relaxed, cared for, and grateful. Highly recommend Solace Massage if you're looking for a therapeutic, professional, and rejuvenating experience. read more

i been there two different times both times i got great massage mix of deep tissue and stone massage ,place is clean and room is nice 1. but biggest complaint for me why i didnt give it 5 stars is theres no door on the rooms just a curtain ,so you can hear all the talking in hall and noise it takes away from relaxing . again the massage ,check in was great just wish it could be more private read more

The staff were pleasant and helpful. I told the masseuse the general area that I wanted to focus on and she quickly zeroed in on the exact spot where I was having an issue and worked it out. read more

Came in today for an hour massage and was greeted by Judy. She guided to a massage room that was quiet and clean. Throughout the hour, Judy massaged from head to toe. I felt numerous knots being worked on and relaxed by her. She spent lots of time around my upper back and neck (assume since she noticed those are the area where most of my tension were at thanks for working on the computer all day). Will be back next time for hour and half so she can have more time to work on my calf area. No language barrier unlike other similar places since Judy speaks English. Only slight suggestion is to maybe work on the face when starting the massage . read more

This a great massage place in the heart of San Leandro. You don't know by looking on the outside but inside is a very clean, tranquil area with a variety of different rooms. The price is very affordable, especially if you pay cash. I think it's like $69 for an hour cash or $79 with card. Even then, for the quality of the message I was impressed. We did a couples massage. I went to Thailand to learn Thai massage so I'm always curious to see what kind of massage training folks have. Well, at Solace I got a damn good Thai massage, following the aryuvedic lines and including passive yoga stretches. It was a VERY good massage. We have been in many massage parlors and we know the masseurs depend on tips, so we had cash ready to go and we're not bothered by their readiness to receive their tip. I really feel like customers should always expect to pay tip on massage and it should not be something that causes any problem. We really liked the lady out front. She was friendly and efficient. We will be back! read more

Solace is such a gem. Their website is easy to use and their customer service is truly exceptional. I booked a 90 minute Deep Tissue Massage as a walk-in and was open to seeing any therapist since it was my first visit. After pre-paying with a credit card (they also offer a cash rate), I filled out a simple form to mark my focus areas: shoulders, under the clavicles, and lower back. Cindy took great care of me. She was kind, gave me time to settle in, and handled my personal items thoughtfully. The massage was one of the most intentional and well structured I've ever had. Her pressure was consistent, and she spent extra time on my left shoulder after noticing it needed more attention without me even having to say anything. Every minute felt purposeful and tailored to my needs. After my visit, I read a few reviews that mentioned concerns about tipping pressure. I just want to say that my experience was nothing like that. I left a 25% tip and went on my way. No pressure or awkwardness at all. Language was not an issue with Cindy. She took out her phone to translate my questions about booking in advance (which was a bit complex). That was a smart move. I highly recommend their Deep Tissue Massage, especially if you carry tension in your shoulders or do a lot of repetitive work. And a nice bonus, they offer a stamp card: book 10 massages and you get 30 minutes free! read more

First off, They did accommodate me for a last minute request. I want to like this place, but when the masseuse doesn't check in with you regarding the pressure, it's a little bother some. The room was a little cold and the table could have been warmer. My back has been killing me for a few days, due to probably work sitting so I thought I'd do one on my lunch break. I wasn't able to fully enjoy as some of pressure was tender. However I did request a hot stone add on and that helped as was able to crack part of my back which means the muscles had loosened a bit. My masseuse did wear a mask, which I appreciated. So the best part was that at the end I thought it was going to be a bit more that what I thought. Not so bad. I didn't have any cash so I paid with card. Be aware there is a 2.10 service charge for that and I did leave a cash tip. I will give them another shot. read more

I highly recommend Coco. I just had a 90-minute session with her, She is very professional and effective, and she has a unique massage style that combines Swedish, deep tissue, and Thai techniques. I feel incredibly relaxed and as if I've lost 10 pounds. Thank you so much, Coco! Clean environment and great facilities too. read more

I was a loyal customer who have recommended friends and family cuz I used to love this place (no frills, clean, walk-in ok, mostly great masseuses except for "Lisa") but I'll be going elsewhere. The main reason is that I've been having issues using MY PRE-PAID massages here. The prices listed on the website are either not up-to-date or I got scammed. It says $550 for 10 hours (even to this day, 1/13/25) but they will make you pay around $600 (or $660...can't remember the exact amount, cuz it's been around a year or so and paid in cash) for 11 hours. I enjoyed the convenience of a package and hate going to the atm, but this is where my preference comes and bites me in the ass. They will happily take your money and then write on the rewards freebie card (like a normal Buy 10 get 1 free) that you paid for 11 massages, but the owner Emily will end up questioning you each time you try using your prepaid credit. During the initial purchase, I remember her recording the amount paid and my name on some note pad but this note pad will never be referenced again. Apparently, the customer has to show proof or be subjected to hella questions in order for her to believe that the card she sold/issued you is legit. She even questions me when it is clearly her own handwriting on the card, asking me how much I paid, when I paid and who I paid. It seems there's no standardized method for them to mark the cards and it's an issue when you try to get 90 minute massages. She has had to rewrite the card because of this issue, and then the next time you use the card, she will question why the card doesn't look like what it should look like (ie, showing 10 hours). My most recent visit was even more ridiculous. Emily's husband was there and took payment up front, so he marked the card, took a photo, and then supposedly sent Emily the photo. After my massage, the husband was no longer there and the masseuses didn't believe me when I told them that payment was made cuz the husband marked the card. They called Emily who proceeded to interrogate me on speaker about the dang card again. I explained that her own husband should've texted her a photo of the card, and asked her to check, but it did not help. I even asked her to call her own husband and she won't. Emily raised her voice at me and acted if I'm trying to scam them (ironically, I felt the same way) and we basically argued over what happened. I'm not even sure why the masseuse was unaware that I've made payment upfront but either no communication was made or she just didn't hear/understand English (like most of the staff there). There was an older white gentleman (maybe the husband's dad, or a family member, as he didn't seem like a customer) there who witnessed the whole thing and was trying to help but he gave up and walked away cuz of the communication issues. Please change your business practice and either do better tracking or just simply don't sell packages since you don't have an effective way to let people use what you've sold them. If you are accepting upfront payment, let the masseuse know that the client already paid, and have a method to track this! This has been unnecessarily stressful (super ironic, since I'm there to de-stress) and will be looking for another massage spot cuz of all the BS that I've had to deal with. WARNING: 1. DO NOT BUY MULTIPLE MASSAGES (PACKAGES). AND 2. DO NOT PREPAY FOR YOUR MASSAGE. read more

Just left this place. GREAT massage! Until the end...when the lady massaging me BEGGED for a tip...CRAZY! I was going to tip her anyways b/c she did a really good job. She didn't have to ask or beg. Regardless of her thirstiness, I was on my way out the door to get cash from an ATM nearby. There's a bank next door, a CVS with an ATM across the street,...but the woman at the front counter told me that she can get me what I needed. Insisting and pressuring me to use her credit card terminal. That she can get me cash. She asked how much...$20? I said "Yeah". This lady charged my debit card $20.70. I told her to give Jenny(who massaged me) $10. And give me the remaining $10 cash. She stood there looking at me like she didn't understand English all of a sudden. Give me my $10!!! She said she couldn't, that her machine cannot give cash back...WTF???!!! Didn't I tell you I was going to an ATM b/c I needed some cash??? Games!!! Too many games. And I don't PLAY games. This place is on that B*LLSH*T. Stay away! read more

Solace Massage Therapy - ATM?!?! She got me...oh well. - Reflexology Near Me - San Leandro, California

I made an appointment today for 4pm for a Swedish massage but they gave me a combo of all types of massages including deep tissue which I CANNOT handle and did not ask for. It was not enjoyable. Every move was too quick like she was in a rush. She was yanking and pulling me in all types of directions. I felt like I was getting my ass beat. The Swedish part was the ONLY PART that I enjoyed. But when she used the hot towels, she literally plopped it on my back and aggressively wiped the oil away. I could not believe my experience here. It felt too long and I did mention to her at some point that what she was doing hurts and she did lighten her pressure. But she would end up applying pressure somewhere else. I wanted to like this place because of all the great reviews. But now that I'm reading some of them, they seem kind of suspicious. Also just read the owners response to the negative reviews and she seems rude. I gave 2 stars cause I do not want to be the one to ruin a business but if I'm being selfish I would give this place 1 star. UPDATE: to confirm of the owner's nasty attitude.. DONT COME HERE FOLKS! Loll and if you have so many happy customers how was I able to get in within the hour. Please explain. I also forgot to mention that the bed sheets they use on the massage beds stinks! It's like they don't even wash in between clients. read more

First time coming here and so glad I did!! Natasha was amazing!! Coming back and bringing my Husband.

I am extremely disappointed with this place and will NEVER return. I made two appointments online for 60 minutes. After the massage, when it was time to pay, they told me they had done 90 minutes instead of 60. I showed them my booking confirmation, which clearly stated 60 minutes, but they still asked me to pay for the 90 minutes I didn't ask for. They made the mistake, yet I still had to cover the additional time. I feel completely scammed by this place. I won't be recommending it to my friends, family, or anyone else. read more

I was quite disappointed with my experience because this place has such good reviews. In the beginning of my massage, the lady kept slapping a towel all over my body which was unpleasant while she massaged over the towel even though there was a sheet already over me. The massage was okay in general, there were a few times where I felt like she was just kind of gently pinching areas. Then when I was checking out, the lady processing my payment lost the receipt she was supposed to give me... I don't even understand how that happened and she wasn't able to reprint me another one. Not sure why I had such a maybe one-off experience. read more

Hurts so good. She knows what she's doing, had good pressure, and was super hard working, staffing the front desk while also giving the massage. Used the check-in sheet to identify problem spots that she zoned in on and even used hot stones at some point (even though it was scheduled for a Swedish) to relieve. Very kind and accommodating with a flexible schedule, at least while the business is getting off the ground. Location was right on E14th next to Los Perricos, with metered parking directly in front and in the tight lot around the corner from LP. read more

Solace Massage Therapy - Nice and clean - Reflexology Near Me - San Leandro, California

High skilled and professional. The best massage that I've ever had, will be returning,

I needed a much deserved TLC this weekend and a friend of mine have told me about this new place she have gone to that she got an amazing deep tissue massage, so I decided to try it out. I mean why not? I always like to explore and try new places and new things. And guess what? they did not disappoint. I called to make an appointment, which was really easy to do coz this massage place is still pretty new, is located in the corner of this cute little inland shops so there was a lot of parking available around the area. When I got there, I met the owner Emily. She was really nice, and she briefly explained to me the differences of each particular massages on their menu. I opted to go with the deep tissue massage like my friend did, and Emily that day had another client booked so my masseuse was Amanda and she took care of me really good. She worked on the stress knots on my shoulder and back and her hand pressure was just perfect, it wasn't too soft yet it wasn't too hard that it hurts. I went for the 90 mins massage (it was sooo worth it!) and gave Amanda a generous tip. Then I decided to give this place a shout out because I had a really good experience from going in there to feeling really relaxed after my massage. So if you guys want to try a new place that takes excellent care of their clients massage needs..book an appointment now, I know you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Solace Massage Therapy! I hope to book another appointment soon and I wish you guys success coz you are all amazing. read more
