She also allowed a male employee into my room, NOT OK, while I was disrobed on the table. then she tried to stop 15 minutes early..I sd NO, u started at 1030am. She did continue, reluctantly. She then after all that bad business asked me for a tip while I stood up naked. I felt nearly violated lol Never go there. They SUCK. I gv her a $5 tip n she grabbed my by my arm to berate me. Definitely my quick, go to place for a massage when I don't have time or funds for a full spa day. They get the job done and provide a really detailed massage based on your pain tolerance. Again, this is a quick massage not a full spa experience so the decor is dim, basic, and comfy-- not elegant and fancy so don't expect that. Only thing that stops them from being a 4 is the fact that they badger for tips. They will ask for more after a guest leaves their intended amount, which is distasteful and can ruin the entire relaxing experience upon someone leaving. read more

For the last 2 week I've been asking for Lisa and now there saying busy, then she sick, try to get me to book with someone else that I already tried and didn't like. Not sure why they don't want Lisa to work on me anymore. Lisa is great but not to sure about this business anymore. Looking for some where else to go. i've been to this massage parlor many times albeit I haven't been in probably a year. I'm not sure if Management changed but I do know my regular masseuse has retired. I booked an appointment on 9/10 for 9/11 @ 5:15. At 5:05 they're calling me asking me where I am? That was a bad start... Once I arrived at the establishment, there was nobody at the front desk. I hear a toilet flush from the bathroom where the door was open and an employee emerges, pulling up her pants & without washing her hands. Ugh. she asked me if I had called, I said no, you called me but I have an appointment at 5:15 but she didn't speak English. she goes to get another employee who also doesn't speak English. So once she checked me in, she demands that I pay for my services in advance. I told her I have never had to pay in advance and that I had cash so it wouldn't be a problem. She went on to say the owner was not there and there was nothing she could do. I asked her if she preferred to lose out on a client for demanding payment up front. She seemed to shrug me off. I left and went to their competition down the street. This salon is not updated and it's a step down from being nice. I won't be going back. read more

I'm so happy to have found Haven Day Spa. I've been here a minimum of at least 5 times already since I first came. I've only had Diana as my masseuse, and she's been great, and consistent each and every time. I always leave here feeling relaxed and refreshed. You get a private room each time, and I love that they have a little mini heater set up in the room. I personally get cold easily so I think it's so accommodating that they have it set up like that for their guests. Diana is great with finding my knots and she always makes sure to check which areas that I want to have her focus on. I literally always end up falling asleep in the middle of the massage bc she does such a great job. When she goes over the knotted areas, it's the good type of pain - which makes it easier for me to fall asleep LOL...if that makes sense. The pricing isn't bad at all as well. I think it's about $60 for a full body and if you sign up for their text messaging program, they usually send out specials with hot stone, etc. Great place, professional, easy parking, and always easy to book. 5/5 for me, give this place a try if you're in the area, you won't regret it. :) read more

Ugh, I have gone several times and usually they are pretty good about giving a decent deep tissue massage but today omg! One of the worst massages I have received. I went because I was having shoulder pain and I don't know if it was a new lady, I don't remember her from before but it felt like nothing. I asked her once if she could do it harder, which she did for about 2 minutes. I was debating the whole massage to just ask her to stop and leave, it just honestly felt like a waste of time and money. With so many options out there, I am most likely not coming back. The front desk guy was smoking cigarettes outside when I arrived, The massage was average, Somewhat dirty facility. They have good parking. 90 minutes for $100. Not bad. Very difficult to communicate. After reading the reviews here regarding the tips, I ended up giving a $31 tip because I felt bad for the massage therapist. I have no idea how much they're getting paid. Don't blame the therapist, blame the employer for not paying enough. Pressure was mediocre. Woo! By far that was one of the top 3 massages I ever had and I've been to a fair share of businesses. I regret not getting a longer session than 60 minutes. Online booking, text/email reminders and NOW products are a few features that make Haven such an attractive option for massage therapy. I love massages from Anna the best. Haven often has massage specials. So far I've experienced the 90 min. massage and enjoy a fair amount of pressure. I've been to a few other Chinese, Korean and Thai massage centers and Haven actually spends time on your feet when you get a full body massage. Makes sense right? Things to watch out for when dealing with Bad Massage businesses; 1) If they ask you to pay First. 2) Notice how much effort it takes for the Massage Therapist to actually work on you( gasping breaths, fatigue in their demeanor, etc...) Those signs tell you that person has NO Formal Therapeutic training. Even though they all say " Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Acupressure, etc... " If they really knew what they are doing to provide you therapeutic help they wouldn't be wearing themselves out. 3) The massage isn't focused on your areas of concern. And lastly 4) At the end they want to INSIST ON A TIP !!! .....SMH A tip is earned !!! No one should ever insist on or beg for or complain about a tip. They seriously insisted that I give her a $40 tip for a 2Hr MEDIOCRE MASSAGE... I gave her $20, then I left pissed.. Lona is the only person I will ever go to as long as I am living in the Bay area. With that said, I am not necessarily a relaxing massage type of person. I don't need gentle back rubs or nice music. I get insanely tight shoulders & back (from a mixture of climbing and computer work), sometimes to the point where it affects my ability to sleep comfortably. So, when I get massages, I'm looking for someone to dig into the knots to the point where I am *almost* ready to start crying. I want to feel sore the next day from the massage. But, that's just me. To this end, Lona never fails to disappoint. She's constantly checking in me during the session to make sure she's not overdoing it. Yes, it helps that I speak Chinese, but even if you don't, I guarantee that she'll understand if you say "lighter" or "harder". She's told me before that she's received complaints of going too hard on clients, but that she never received any feedback as to the amount of pressure she was using. A friend took me here for a massage a few weeks ago and the experience was great! They went above and beyond to accept my outdated spa finder gift cards despite them not having a barcode, so they were unable to scan them with their computer system. My massage therapist was fantastic and really got in there with some elbow grease. As an athlete, my muscles can get pretty tight, and she worked that ish out. It wasn't the traditional western spa experience that I'm used to, but it was still awesome. And the prices are FANTASTIC! I can't wait to go back for another 90 minutes of stress relief. read more

I would not recommend this please for the reason I came to get a prenatal massage. The massage was good I can't complain coming out of my massage. All staff were in the front. I'm walking out the lady screams. Hey Tip I said no worries I don't have cash can I tip in card? She said yes I was planning to leave a eight dollar tip which was not a bad tip while I'm writing the total amount, the staff starts talking in their language and tells me minimum tip is $10 that caught me off guard but I proceed to changing the amount to " minimum tip" then they proceed to say your baby is fine so $15 that's when I get upset I said tips are not required as I see no sign tip is given as how you like the service after I said no to a $15 tip they got upset. My sister, niece and I went here for massages. The massages were good;however, my concern is how the are bullying people to leave a min of a $10 tip. When I came out my sister told me she tipped the guy $5, which was all the cash on her because we had to pay cash for the massage and was told she HAD to leave a minimum of $10. A tip is not required; therefore, they should appreciate anything they receive. If the want thee folks to receive a $10 tip minimum, increase your prices to cover the workers tips. I called before my appointment no one answered. I park and knock on the door at 11:55 still no answer. I called twice and finally a man answers and he has the car speaker going so he cant hear. I put my phone and speaker and he says he will have someone let me in that was at 11:56. 12:00 pm I am still outside waiting. I call back three times and the man answers again. Stating he will be there in 10 mins. My appointment was for a prenatal massage with Anna. He arrives at 12:20 pm and takes my temperature and money. He then says he will look for the reservation and asks to see mines. At this point I am overly confused as to how you can take my money and then not find my reservation. I asked for my money back and I would show him my reservation. I showed him the reservation for 12 pm and left very unhappy. I've been here a couple times, generally I've had good experiences, but today was not a great experience at all and will absolutely be my last time! At the beginning, I informed the masseuse I didn't want her to massage my "rear end" but everywhere else was ok to massage. I expressed this 3 different times and she STILL made it a point to massage there anyways. I also stated at least 12 times throughout the massage that the pressure was too hard and I wanted softer pressure. She would soften up for 1 minute then go right back to extremely hard pressure!! How can you relax during a massage if you're constantly having to tell the masseuse she is being too hard every few minutes??!? Finally I just gave up and got through the rest of literally the worst massage ever because I was tired of telling her how rough she was! While this in itself was cause for me not to tip this $90 massage, I decided to leave $7 in tip as a CURTosy for her time on that horrible massage. Once I pay, the man at the desk asks in an annoyed tone "you're only going to leave a $7 tip for a 90 minute massage?" In which I politely answered YES, and the masseuse laughs at the tip and doesn't even thank me for leaving a tip for that horrible massage! While I should have just taken back my $7 , I just left and went on my way to go book a massage somewhere else to get out the kinks this massage created! This is a huge loss for this business as I was literally booking massages for 10 friends of mine as a treat prior to my massage, but I will absolutely be taking my near $1,000 booking to a buisness who'd appreciate our money. I will NEVER be back here and I suggest you don't spend your hard earned money here either! This review is mainly regarding the pay $40 for $80 voucher offer. I was surprised to learn upon my first visit that a 60 minute message is $80 (this is your only option with this voucher). I had hoped to use the $80 for services of my choosing (and hadn't planned to use the whole $80 in one visit as I'm used to these types of spas being more affordable). I did receive an excellent message and she obviously worked hard getting out all of my knots. I also appreciated that the bed was heated (nice touch!). After spending an additional $15 for a 30 minute excellent foot message (which is very reasonable) I was left with little cash on hand. When leaving I handed the woman who did my message $5, which isn't something I'd normally do, but due to the "deal" not being what I was expecting, I felt a little ambivalent (and was low on cash). She looked at the $5 and said what about Jon (who did the foot message)? I only had $2 left in my wallet and gave it to her. She said "I guess I'll keep the $5 and give the $2 to Jon." Then she went on to tell me that it is customary to tip $20 if you feel that you received good service and that her and Jon work very hard; since this was my first time she'd let me slide (hello!?). She then handed me a "VIP" card which entitled me to a certain number of $40-60 minutes messages (which I'm sure is what I just had). Too bad for the experience at the end; up to that point, though disappointed by the "special deal" I was impressed with my services, but this ultimately was too gamey and rude and I won't be returning. read more

Ok so first let me say that I have never been here before, I just picked it based on a local search. I always read the reviews and take them with a grain of salt. The reviews here were slightly mixed with the majority having a great experience. I'd like to clear up some of the negative comments: 1) smells - false, no it doesn't. It was clean and had no foul odors anywhere 2) beds to small - false, these are actually massages tables and they were standard size 3) bait and switch when it comes to price - false, did not happen to me. Someone said they asked for tip before the service, again I did not experience that 4) no music and you hear all the traffic - partially correct. This place is located in downtown and it is an older building. However it was not so noisey that it wasn't relaxing and there was light background relaxing music during my entire 1.5 hour treatment. I had Lona for my masseuse. She was very knowledgeable and checked in with me periodically to make sure the pressure was ok. I had my gallbladder removed just about 2 weeks ago and Lona made sure that I was comfortable and that there was only light pressure around my right side. All in all, I found this establishment to be very professional with very friendly employees. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a great massage. read more

Best massage place that's affordable in San Leandro. Owner Jon gave me 30 mins foot massage he is very nice and Saki the lady that gave me a full body massage for an hour was also nice and efficient.
