I came her for the first time with my friend. We both booked 60 minute Swedish massage. We were told to pay for our services before the service was done. I thought that was odd but we paid for it. We were sent to a room with my friend and I together. When it was time for our massage, my friend received a Swedish massage and my masseuse was standing on top of me. The whole time they were talking during our service. I was confused why my lady wasn't doing a Swedish massage but I let it go. I wasn't in the mood to say something. They were giggling and whispering loud throughout the session. When we're done it was time for us to leave and we gave them cash tip. The lady who I tipped raised her voice on me and demanded more. I told her that's all I had. She gave me the worst attitude and stormed off. Please do yourself a favor, there are better and professional places than this. To me it felt like they don't care about the service they provide for their clients but focused on the money. It seems like a lot of people experienced bad service here. Also the lady who stood on me for my massage was a big back so I had difficulty breathing at some parts of the massage. I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience here. I booked a 60-minute couples massage, and while my husband had a great experience with his masseuse, mine was the complete opposite. The person who worked on me didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. There was no real technique or flow, just random elbow pressure on my back the entire time. I even asked for more pressure, hoping it would improve, but she just kept using her elbows in a way that felt uncomfortable and unskilled. On top of that, she kept stopping throughout the session, which made the whole experience feel disjointed and unprofessional. What made it worse is that she didn't even massage my hands, arms, or feet, which I would expect from a full 60-minute massage. And to be clear, I didn't even get the full time. We started around 6:52 PM, and she left around 7:35-7:40 PM. That's not 60 minutes. Another thing that really bothered me was how the oil was removed. She used a dry tissue or paper towel to wipe my back, which felt rough and uncomfortable. Meanwhile, my husband's masseuse used a proper warm/wet towel on him. I don't understand why the service was so inconsistent between the two of us. I left feeling worse than when I came in. My back actually felt strained, like a nerve was irritated from the random elbow pressure. I was visibly upset and honestly didn't feel like tipping, but still left $5 out of courtesy. I just called and spoke with Lily over the phone looking for an hour of deep tissue massage. I told her what my massage therapist charges in San Mateo. She said come over and I will match and will give you a great massage. When I got there she asked for more money and said she won't give any massage for less than $30 in tips. I was shocked since she did not ask a word about anything else about me or what I particularly was there for. How could anyone ask for a 50% tip before providing any service...and she had the nerve to invite me to come and have a massage, I drove 15 mins to be turn back with no service provided. So what... do you have a masseur or not? I was going to trust the process until she told me it was $70 and wanted to be paid UP FRONT! It looks like the business has changed ownership from Ocean's Spa to Lotus Spa recently. We first discovered this place because it was the only place that did the Ashiatsu massage (walking on back) and the former owner's therapists did this very well, and used the bars safely. Unfortunately, however, the new business owners have crossed the Ashiatsu massage from this price list, which is a big reason why we would come to this place to begin with. I highly recommend that they consider putting this service back on the services list (they still have the bars for the Ashiatsu massages but apparently just don't offer it anymore). Given that, my partner and I both got the deep tissue massage from a female and male therapist. It is pricier than before $60 instead of $50, but the massages were firm and there was adequate pressure. Both therapists were experienced and I think that the massage worked well. We always try to tip the workers a fair amount since massage work is not easy. However, the main issue about this place is that it is adjacent to the T4, which of course has a lot of blenders to make drinks and blend ice so it can be pretty loud in the rooms. The music covers a lot of it, though the sounds can take away from some of the relaxing atmosphere. Overall though, we might put this place in our rotation for massages, but given that the place no longer offers Ashiatsu, we might opt to go somewhere closer to home. I think the price differences between what you pay for using a credit card versus cash is also significant, and may deter others from coming if they don't have the cash because they'd rather not pay so much more for using a credit card for their transaction. However, we were left in utter disbelief and appalled, when we gave each therapist $15 each in gratuity, and she started showing us a "Tip Price Chart", saying $15 is minimum, and really just started haggling us. My husband had a lady named Cece, he said she was great! I had a guy named Sam who was at the front desk (and took the payment) and instructed us to the back. If i could give 0 stars i would but no choice. Another typical Asian massage place that plays you for your money unfortunately. What happened was I already was laying down waiting for my female masseuse and last minute, the guy that sits at the front desk tells her something in Chinese and the girl tells me that she forgot she had set an appointment with another client so i will be massaged by a male therapist instead. I said it was fine. After my massage I go to the the front desk to give my tip, I read their sign that says "$20 off if massaged by male therapist". I ask the male therapist that massaged me if I get this deal today. He said not today next time if I call and make an appointment. I said no it doesn't say I have to call and make an appointment to receive $20 off. It just says if massaged by male therapist will receive $20 off. That's all. I had to get in an argument with my masseuse for him to finally give me my $20 off. UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE!!!! NOT HONEST WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS AND ARE ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY! Plus the massage sucked. As someone who's been here before with my fiancé at least 5/6 times before covid and even brought my parents twice and recommended this place to a few of my clients, I am SO disappointed in this business. ALL the times I've been here I've really enjoyed my massage, always tipped 10/20 dollars on each masseuse depending on how great our massage is. I've never had a complaint honestly, it's why we would return every few months before covid. Today after our 1 hour couples massage (50$ each massage) I really felt (compared to the other times I've been here) my massage with this masseuse wasn't up to par like normal. My fiancé was happy with his so we tipped his masseuse 10$. I always ask for Swedish and I just noticed lots of things were (sorry to say this) very half assed. I normally NEVER feel this way after my massage here, but today I felt more touched by an inexperienced masseuse than actually massaged. I still tipped, just only 5$ so 10%. As we were walking out the receptionist commented and said that we tipped one of them less than 20%. I explained and said yeah I tipped my fiancé's 10$ because he really enjoyed his and I didn't really enjoy mine. She says that it's custom to tip 20%. As a fellow business owner, tip is never guaranteed. I also am a service provider and this scene she created over 5$ less of a tip, was ridiculous to me. Especially if as a client/customer is vocalizing that it wasn't up to par like usual. I really wish I enjoyed the massage enough to tip 20% like i normally would and like we did for the other masseuse, but tips speak for the service you receive. As a service provider myself in Esthetics, there's occasions where people tip low or not at all, BUT I could never (and never have) ask them why or comment on that they should pay 20% tip. That's so tacky! You charge a fee and anything given extra is appreciated. If none is given, then it's a sign they probably weren't super happy and should work on things. Anyways, I'm sad to have to stop coming here. I would've came back regardless (if they didn't make it weird and make such a tacky comment) and probably would've just asked for someone else. Massage was ok. I was not asked how the pressure was for my back or what areas I wanted focused on most, so I literally just took the pressure pain the lady provided. Now I am so sore. I went with a friend and his masseuse kept burping or had some type of acid reflux issues. I understand we all have certain issues but please take something especially while giving a massage, having to be real close to your clients. It's not very pleasant to have that going on while you are trying to relax or fall asleep. The two ladies also kept talking in their language, not very professional & again not a pleasant experience while trying to relax. At the end, we tipped the ladies and they said "well if you say massage was excellent then tip more!" They literally had a tip chart printed & placed at check in/out area ranging from not good to excellent. For excellent, $30 and up is what is expected. First time at Hadley's and didn't really see the sign from the street other than the Massage banner hanging overhead....This place is similiar to other asian masage places popping up all over the Bay Area which is more acupressure massage (use of their elbows) so keep that in mind. I walk in and its quiet with a nice, relaxing atmosphere...not sure what to try but i always seem to have a lot of tension in my neck, shoulders, head so i told the receptionist I wanted an hour with emphasis in those specific area...and that's exactly what i got which was perfect! Brought to private room with massage tables...remove everything except your bottoms...Amy was my masseuse and my first thought was 'oh boy, she's not going to do as firm as i would like'...well she was strong and got all the right places, especially with my head, temples, back of my head...awwwww....nice! Oil and massage on my back, with hot towel and used hot stones which felt really good...for the price i think it was totally worth it... Those complaining of tipping more than $5 (for an hour massage?!!!) or $10 minimum are just cheap! Really? Went in and asked for someone strong for my massage and they gave me a old lady. Nothing wrong with older masseuse but I literally had to ask her "stronger" every 5 minutes. I left feeling no change at all with my body. Wasted $60 including tip.. only thing she massaged was my back and it was suppose to be a full body massage. There's people that need healing and I would suggest you guys do a better job at hiring and training your staff. Ocean Spa is close by and easy to make appointments. I usually get the Swedish or Deep Tissue. It's definitely a harder massage, sometimes not very relaxing but I always wake up the next day feeling great. This review is long overdue, I came here twice before and loved both of my experiences. It's on B street in Hayward so finding parking can be a hassle sometimes. I mostly have to walk down. It's easy to pass it by so make sure your paying attention. The woman who greets me is always so sweet even though I never made an appointment she finds a way to accommodate me. Both massages I got was a Swedish massage with the full body scrub and it was amazing! The masseuse really does and amazing job, I've had two different ones and they both were great. They Really listen if you want something done different. The vibe of the whole place is really clean and calm with nice dim lights and soft music, puts you in a relaxing mood. What ever fragrance they use for the body scrub stayed on me all day, and my skin was so soft, it was amazing! The prices are so affordable which is one of the main reasons I like this place! I've been to this establishment 2 times before. The 1st time, I got a mediocre massage, but not so terrible I couldn't give them the benefit of the doubt and try a different therapist. My 2nd time, I had a much better experience. This encouraged me to come back a 3rd time. As usual, I requested a deep tissue massage. The therapist I got this time clearly was not trained in deep tissue, which means the owner or management mistakenly thinks strong pressure equals deep tissue. As a professional massage therapist of 24 years, trained in Deep Tissue work, I can tell you with authority it is not. So either they're hoping clients don't know better or they're not making sure their therapists can competently provide deep tissue work. Either way, they're not selling as advertised. But worse than that, my therapist didn't feel motivated to do a good job. She slogged through an obviously cookie cutter routine, not paying attention to my body. And unlike her previous 2 colleagues, she didn't even try to communicate or solicit feedback to try to give a quality massage. Finally, when leaving, she was waiting by the front desk when the receptionist asked if I wanted to give her a tip. As a massage therapist who has worked at several establishments over the years, I immediately cringed at how awkward and inappropriate it was to make this request with the therapist present. I explained to them as much, adding that I've been a professional massage therapist over 24 years, then told the receptionist that what I received was not a deep tissue massage. She wouldn't even give me the courtesy and respect as a return client of looking me in the eyes as she looked down and muttered "OK" dismissively. No apologies. Not even a false display of humble contrition, much less an effort to make it right with an offer to give me a complimentary visit in the future with a promise to provide a qualified deep tissue massage therapist. I don't think she was the owner, as I had a more mature receptionist before who carried an air of skilled management. So I hope the owner of this establishment really takes this review to heart -especially as a trained professional and 24+ year veteran in this field- and makes a meaningful effort to make amends. read more

I can honestly say this massage was GREAT! My boyfriend and I both had wonderful experiences. 1. We called ahead and we're given same day same time appointments. When we got there he could hear them preparing for us. 2. Rooms were clean and warm with in room heat control to suit your preference (also heated table). 3. Deep tissue massage was ACTUALLY a deep tissue massage. Pressure was great and therapist needed no direction! My boyfriend felt the same way.. compelled to tip double! Came here for the first time several months ago on a whim with my sister, we hadn't a massage other than those painful ones they offer at the county fairs...ouch. Have to say each time I come, I am more and more pleased! Tia is my GIRL! My first visit was with another woman, can't recall her name right now, but the last 3 visits have been with Tia and I will not stray. They've always been very flexible scheduling my sister and I in, we've called same day each time we've gone in and there was only one occasion when we could not be seen that same evening. We've only ever got the "couples room" because we go together. It's a large, dimly lit room with two beds. They give us some time to get undressed, and it's Swedish massage aka relaxation city from there on out. We pay for the hour massage, and for me, it's the perfect amount of time. The first half of the massage is over a bed sheet face down; second half is directly on skin using oils and for a brief part of the massage at the end, you are on your back. You MUST speak up if it's too rough for you! If you don't enjoy your massage here it is no one's fault but your own! read more

My masseuse kept burping and just rubbing lotion on my back literally that's it. First 19mins she rubbed just back of my head( timed it with my phone) and when I asked her to massage my back then she started rubbing my back with just her dry hands and kept pulling on my skin and burped 20times already. 8 minutes later she put cold lotion right on my back and started massaging with her fingers because I asked her not to massage with her elbows because she kept stubbing her elbows anyways she started massaging with her fingers and now her nails are stubbing me. I was so mad that after that I didn't say a word to her. I went to the front desk after to complain after my massage and the only thing the guy at the desk (Kung) had to say was "and her tip?"
