Lori is amazing. Nurturing, accommodating, and skilled w/ just the right amount of pressure. The massages have always been so on point that I almost fall asleep. This has been my biweekly go to spot for over a year now and though I've been trying to keep it a secret, so it doesn't get to busy, I finally have to let the cat out of the bag. It is a cute little place near the high way. I received one of those special packages to get 30-min treatments for four times. My massage was good but when I inquired about pregnancy massages the therapist (I want to say she's a student) said she doesn't know about that. So if you are pregnant then find another place. My aunt went there recently and complained how they were insistent on getting tips. My aunt wanted to tip them $8 but they told her at least $10. My aunt felt bad b/c they are a small shop and their service was fine. So I am writing on behalf of her. Nobody should be telling you what to tip. Overall, it's been an ok experience. Mainly the environment is calming and relaxing. I've had 2 therapists so far, 1 more engaging and friendly than the other. But I'm used to some places where the therapists barely speak to you, so I didn't let it bother me. The messages in general are great! Why I keep coming back. Those who like essential oils, be mindful. They pour it in strong. I couldn't relax as much as I would have liked because the scent was making me a little sick. Mayne they should put it right under your face so close. But I take responsibility for that, as I'm that person to struggle with stating needs throughout a massage. The oils are optional. Frankly, I am a very tough critic when it comes to massages. I've been getting them for years, my closest friend is a massage therapist, and I know when I have had a great massage. Annmarie is the best. Whenever I come to Urban Oasis, I come with high expectations. I have been a customer for the past few years, and have continually been excited and blown away by the quality of massages at the spa. On Friday, I finally decided to go in and get a massage for a tweaked back muscle. It was my first time seeing therapist Annemarie, and it will not be my last. I walked away from my massage feeling much better than when I walked in. To be specific about Annemarie's massage: - Annemarie has a very calming, holistic approach to massage. It's not ready set go okay finished. Rather, she allows you to get comfortable, then speaks with you about how you're feeling and your expectations, and then creates an atmosphere that really allows you to relax your mind and body. During the massage, Annmarie quietly checks in making sure she is in lockstep with your needs. - I prefer medium to hard pressure and Swedish, Sports, and deep tissue massage. For the full 90 minutes of massage, Annmarie was able to really knead my muscles, targeting the areas that I brought up and also addressing related areas that I would've never known to massage. All the while she maintained a consistent effective pressure and technique. I walked out feeling like I had just had a massage. Score. Annemarie works at a shop known for its quality massages, and in the future I know now that I have another massage therapist I can rely on to get the job done right. I had a last minute craving for a massage as 1) I haven't gotten one in over 6 months and 2) I was super sore from playing badminton, which I haven't played in YEARS. Basically, my body was crying for a strong magical pair of hands that could massage all the pain away. I was instantly all over yelp, groupon and living social. I didn't want to go very far and it was the day before Thanksgiving so most of the places I called were already fully booked =/ I was just about to give up when, to my relief, Urban Oasis called back and was able to schedule me in for a 6pm appointment that very day! Yay! ^.^ The place is located close to 580 highway, not hard to find and it has parking in the back. The rooms are not really rooms with walls and doors -- it's curtains that creates two small private areas, which I guess can be combined when guests want to do couples massage. They include aromatherapy in their services so I picked lemon and lavender -- which was a really nice combination scent btw. I had the 90 minute full body massage with Myra -- and it was literally head to toe. I let her know the places I'd like focused on and she delivered 100%. I'm not the type to fall asleep during massages no matter how good it is, so it was nice to have some light conversation with Myra during the massage. I felt super relaxed, warm and comfortable all throughout -- except when she was working on my nasty knots. Although there wasn't a groupon or living social deal for this place, there was a yelp deal of $80 for $100, which is better than nothing :) The 90 minute massage was exactly $100, for which I gave a 20% tip because I was really grateful she could take me in that day, especially it being the night before Thanksgiving and it was just the massage I needed. WOW...that's all I could say after my first massage by Kenna. She has Jedi level massage skills...I swear she channels the Force through her hands to find places in your body that you didn't even realize were harboring stress. I have had three massages by her now, including one with a special foot treatment and they were each amazing. I like that she helps you focus on relaxing your mind at the beginning and then is quiet throughout the rest of the session. Her whole demeanor is relaxed without coming across flakey. The location doesn't look like much on the outside but she's really created a wonderful sanctuary inside that has a midsummer night's dream vibe to it. Note: it is one large treatment room with two cabanas set up side by side. I have never had a massage at the same time as another client so I can't speak to whether that is an issue or not. I suspect not. Finally, the prices are totally reasonable so treat yourself to the 90 min which, to me, is the perfect amount of time! read more

As an avid participant of Spa Week, I've gone to a good number of chi-chi massage places (on the cheap - yay!). I haven't really had any that hit a sweet spot of having talented massage therapists, but not overly-ambianced to the point of making me feel too yuppy. (I admit it - I am a self-hating yuppy.) I really found Urban Oasis to hit this sweet spot. I first came to Urban Oasis a month ago from a spa package I bought for a fundraiser. I came upon Kenna, who I have found to be an AMAZING massage therapist! She is both very knowledgeable and has such a soothing mannerism that I am instantly put at ease. She also has amazing hands - just the right amount of pressure (and I tend to like a lot of pressure) and, they tend to be very warm and soothing. I'm not quite sure how she keeps her hands so warm - nevertheless, it's really nice! Kenna is also the only massage therapist I know who actively asks for feedback, and keeps notes on what I do and do not like. I like that she is very "present" during the massage (as opposed to some who seem to just go through the motions). Every time I go, I am assured that I will have a great experience. She also does amazing facials using all-organic products. At first, I was a little surprised that there's only one big room with tents/curtains separating massage spaces. However, once you're in there, it's so peaceful that you totally don't even realize the lack of walls. Blissfully relaxed after each visit! read more

Kenna is one a few massage therapists I trust enough to not need to give any direction in terms of where my trouble spots are or how much pressure to use. She is exceptionally intuitive and always spends the right amount of time on each spot and varies her pressure accordingly. Sometimes its feather light, sometimes its deep but in the end, it's always just right. She knows to give a bit of love to my scalp that leaves me half-comatose. I've been here thrice for 75-minute massages- with my friend, mom, and fiance. The ambaince really allows your body to relax and they include organic massage products, hot towels & heating pads (I hate that unpleasant chill I get sometimes when there's oil on my exposed skin)complimentary aromatherapy which I was never into before. Kenna is very knowledgeable on the topic and offers very useful suggestions. Now, it's just that icing on the cake that adds to the whole experience. I just had my first massage at this place yesterday with Kenna. She was fantastic. It was literally the best massage I've ever had, and I've had many. I did the facial massage and have already booked my next apt for full body. If you're like me and you don't like people using their elbows and frantic hurried strokes during your massage then you'd love Kenna. It was so smooth and relaxing. The pressure was perfect and I felt like she actually read what I wrote about how I liked my massage and applied it. Most of the time I feel like the MT reads your preference and then just does whatever they usually do anyway. I can't stress enough how impressed I was with Kenna, I get headaches frequently and was feeling one coming on when I went in. It was gone when I left. That never happens! I took my myself, and my Daughter to Urban Oasis for my daughter's 17th Birthday. In my 33 years of life, I have never had a facial, or massage, after years and years of work, working out, school, working nights, all on little sleep. I thought, I would like my Daughter to learn how to treat herself early on, and I get to tag along. So, after researching quite a few places, because I am picky in all I do. From the environment to the dollar amount. So, we chanced it, my Daughter had no clue, we walk in and the first impression is "relaxation" harmony" o.k. a plus, I say, the two ladies who came out to introduce, and give us newbies the run down, super nice, and friendly. Kenna assisted me, and Liana assisted my Daughter. Super sweet the both took us both back and had us relax prior to the massage, and facial. So kind of nervous because I never had this done, and it's always intimidating to have to strip down to the skibbies, but I learned that you are till covered.. but I felt very comfortable, and I have NEVER been so relaxed in my hard working life....AWHHHH...The scents, the faint music, the lighting..EVERYTHING was worth the $$ and they were reasonable in comparison to places I would never step a toe into. My daughter is now addicted, and boy she didn't hold back, she loved it. I did not know what to do with my girls for my birthday and so my mom had told me about this local day spa. I stopped by to check it out and met Deena and she was just great. Gave me all the information I needed and I picked a tentative date for my spa party. I sent out all the information to my girls and we all picked something, I picked 2 since it was my birthday. I had the Back Relief and Arm/Hand Treatment with Kenna. Kenna's hands are like butter and she worked magic on me. I have had massage services before and for the price this is the best. Great service from getting the information to booking the party to receiving the services. They even had a drawing for us and we won jewelry. My party consisted of 7 women and we all booked our next services before we left. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they need to add some air conditioning to the waiting room so we would not disturb the ones getting the services. read more

Nice decor and good massage, esp that they focused on the areas that I wanted to. Got to get a bonus massage in a massage chair while I was waiting. My only complaint would be that the rooms themselves aren't actually rooms, but spaces separated by a curtain. So potentially, if there were multiple people getting massages at a time, it could get loud. That didn't happen on my massage, but it's a possibility. Also, since there's a small staff, there isn't always someone at the front desk to answer calls and they do not follow up on voicemails. Arrived for my "Mini Me Time", filled out the usual paperwork, and was then escorted to 1 of 2 tents in the back room. setting was relaxing and quiet, and the services were great. Minus one star for the tents, though... even though it adds ambiance, We had to whisper everything because there was another client in the next tent. First of all the owner is such a cool and sweet woman, her name is Michelle and I went there the first time because I love her concept; we all need a bit of an oasis in the middle of our crazy urban existance. Kenna is no doubt, one of the best massage therapists I've had! That woman knows what she's doing! The boutique is cute. The rooms are cabana-like, but more private. Kinda made me feel like I was on vacation, only thing missing was the beach :-). The prices are reasonable and they have a nice selection of essential oils and specialty massages. I opted for the hot stone/aromatherapy massage. She worked the kinks out of my back and neck, checking if pressure was comfortable. It was one of the most relaxing massages I've had in a long time.
