I went to Jim after having foot and ankle pain for a long 11 months post partum. I had tried everything (stretches, various types of yoga, strengthening, foam rolling, self massage, acupuncture etc) and although I would get small incremental relief, it never lasted long. I read the 5 star reviews and knew I had to book. I booked for 90 minutes and asked for a focus on calves and feet, I briefly explained my problem and when it began and he got to work! I let him know I typically like deep pressure when he asked but never interrupted him while he was working even though there wasn't a "deep pressure" on my calves that I thought my calves needed, I could tell he was doing something different.. man am I super glad I let the master do his work because apparently I still had residual fluid in my feet and ankles from pregnancy that I had no idea about and he worked it out of my feet. Swelling I didn't even know I had went away immediately after and continued to go down a little bit more the following days and the tightness and soreness I had been feeling in my calves is gone and my feet/ankles are soooo so much better even 2 weeks after my massage. When he did work on my back a bit, I also felt that deep work pressure I typically like for deep tissue and I can't wait to get to that bodywork next because I know it is going to not just feel good "pain" in the moment but the actual underlying healing will be profound. TLDR: Jim is truly amazing, I would send my mom, best friend, husband, son, anyone to him to be extremely well taken care of for any pain or tension issues. Long story long: My neck "goes out" about once a year and it's so painful I can't move, I look like Michael Keaton Batman. My usual routine is to endure a super painful massage from some rando, have it help a little, and just wait a week until I get my mobility back (Christian Bale Batman). When I woke up on Saturday and couldn't move, I looked for the first closest masseuse and VERY luckily ended up with an appointment with Jim at 1 Touch within 2 hours. There was plenty of parking for the Batmobile right by his office, which is a plus. Jokes aside, I have a really hard time trusting new people and Jim made me feel at ease immediately. He has a warm and professional presence and really knows what he's doing. This is the first time I've ever had a massage for my neck issue and it wasn't painful whatsoever, but still provided the relief I needed. I felt so safe and relaxed I fell asleep, which was also a first. Jim also helped me with some advice on how to help my pain over the next few days, and I actually ended up going back the next day and I can't believe how much relief I'm feeling. I completed an intake ahead of the appointment to indicate what my goals were, any medical concerns I had, etc. When I arrived, Jim greeted me and reviewed the intake. He was very thoughtful and communicative. He checked to make sure the room temperature was ok, if the amount of pressure he used was comfortable, and how I felt before and after the massage. I appreciate his intentionality, differentiating the technique based on the treatment goals I had and where tension was in my body. It was also helpful that Jim provided some information about how the muscles connect and what exercises/stretches I can use to help remain pain-free between sessions. I'm not a regular massage-getter and it's been a few years since I got a massage due to Covid, so I was pretty nervous for my appointment, but Jim immediately put me at ease. He was so welcoming and clearly had a clean and sanitary space (essential during our continuing pandemic!) with lovely ambiance, and from the first moment he walked in the room, he checked in to make sure I was comfortable and knew what was coming during every part of the massage. I've had 3 massages from Jim in the last 5 months. He's very good, the best massages I've had in many years. 90 minutes was better than 60 because it took me 60 minutes to really relax. I like deep tissue massage and Jim is good at finding how much pressure is best. He worked through the knots in my back and shoulders, and did good whole body work. I'm a serious cyclist so my legs are pretty developed, but I also had a shoulder injury. He was good at taking this into account. We talked occasionally during the massage and he spent more time on the places that I felt needed more.
