Even though I have insurance, I came to Opus Physio because I wanted someone really great, who would work with me one-on-one in every single session. In my initial assessment, Ki quickly zeroed in on the fact that I had a muscle imbalance where my left hip muscles were weaker, causing the piriformis muscle to work too hard and start acting up. Over the next few months, he helped me bring my strength back up on my left side so that it is comparable to the right, and I haven't had any pain since. Ki is super knowledgeable, kind and patient. I felt like I could ask him any question and his explanations were always very thorough. He helped trouble-shoot any other issues that came up as I went through the exercises. When my treatment ended, I felt like I was equipped to maintain the improvements I had made and go on to have a normal workout routine. I highly recommend Ki if you're looking for someone who can diagnose you right away, create a tailored treatment plan and is attentive to you in every session. If I ever have any issues in the future, I will definitely come back to Opus Physio.

Receptionist lady is always busy making calls to help schedule patients so I completely understand the need. She also gladly checked me in one time when the computer screen was not working. At the main clinic, I had no issue getting appointments for MRI and with Dr Talarico and Dr Sagoo, all within 48 hours. My GP Dr Lawrence told me to throw his name around. I think he's joking, isn't he?

I have been a client of Stan's long before he began Synapse Massage & Bodywork. I decided to try two of the new therapists working with Stan, Jaimie and another day, Julia, and I was happy I did. I really appreciated their professionalism and the variety of touch that Synapse now has available between the different therapists. I was right to trust my thinking that anyone working out of Stan's studio would have to be experienced, caring, with good hands. I've been meaning to check out Synapse for ages. As a bodyworker, I always like to know who's doing good work in my neighborhood. I've seen Liz outside of that practice and her work is excellent, so I wanted to know some of the other therapists. I had a session with Jamie a few weeks ago and it was really excellent. She was professional, attentive, kind, and very skilled. She listened to my litany of aches and pains and paid specific and relevant attention to each area. I have have been receiving bodywork from Stan off and on for over a decade now. Recently I was fortunate enough to receive a session after an embarrassingly long hiatus. (No time is a terrible excuse not to care for yourself!) Holy cow was I reminded of what I had been missing. I've had two sessions so far and have been extremely impressed with their knowledge and skills. On my first visit Mason asked me a lot of questions about my issues and watched me do a few exercises to determine a plan of action. Mason clearly has a deep and holistic understanding of anatomy and helped alleviate some of my chronic tension/pain after one session, including addressing some tightness in muscle groups that I didn't even know were related to my neck and shoulder issues! Mason checks in regularly about pressure and comfort levels. At the start of my second session I mentioned some life stressors that I had been experiencing and Mason also incorporated some seriously relaxing/gentle techniques that left me feeling calm and ready to tackle life's challenges. The music was soothing, and even the oil used during my session had a subtle, pleasant scent--not overpowering at all. Nehal Narayan was my therapist, and the session itself was exceptional! The environment truly supported the deep, healing work he did. I felt cared for the moment I walked in, and left feeling lighter, both physically and mentally. Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking quality, intentional neuromuscular / trigger point bodywork in a calming space. I'd never had a neuromuscular trigger point massage before, but Nehal exceeded all expectations. What stood out immediately was how he didn't just treat the pain--he helped me understand WHY it was happening. I've had persistent left back pain for over 3 years, and no chiropractor nor PT ever pinpointed the cause the way he did. He confirmed a suspicion I'd long had: my sleeping position was a major factor. I'm a side-sleeper and Nehal showed me how to sleep without overstretching my back or compromising my core. During the session, he worked deeply with his elbows on areas no massage therapist had ever touched--my neck (areas near my throat) and even my abdomen--really vulnerable areas. When he pressed a trigger point in my stomach and said that was the root of my back pain. I could feel he was right--I could feel sensations on my back where the pain usually is! Who would've thought?! His calm, respectful presence and unhurried approach made the session feel both thorough and grounding. A massage therapist I went to in San Diego recommended that I try neuromuscular therapy due to my needs and her noting that my body responded well to compression massage (thank goodness for her because she led me to search for NMT therapists specifically in the Bay Area). I said that I would definitely be there by 6:00; I was marked down for 5:45 in case I arrived early. I opted for the Thai Combination massage. Kris walked on my back and leg muscles, which were incredibly tight. I did not want my massage to end! I was given 10% off the total bill for my first visit. I was also given a loyalty card with a stamp; after 10 paid massages, I will get one for free! My only complaint is that it was not a full 90 minutes - more like 85. That may be because I was still filling out some paperwork at the scheduled start time. This shouldn't have been counted against me, but I can imagine this was not conveyed to Kris, who was likely just basing off the clock rather than a time. The Lakeshore Ave location is just one mile from my new apartment, so it will be easy to come back.
