Very seamless to set up and Meg definitely knows where the sore areas are. I was being induced later that evening and so booked an appointment with her for the morning. I was starting to dilate but wasn't in active labor. She helped address some sore areas and also pushed on some trigger points to begin labor. I went to the gym after not going for a long while and I over did it on my first workout. The next few days after that I was sore and in pain. I couldn't extend my arms and my shoulders and back were killing me. Took me about 3 days of stretching and trying to tough it out before I finally got a massage from Meg. I am six months pregnant and some friends gifted me a prenatal massage at my apartment in Oakland from Meg because she had such good reviews. She did not disappoint! I have had a number of massages over the years (including a few prenatals) and Meg knew how to get in there with the right pressure to make a difference but not leave me incredibly sore the next day. She also knew how to give a great prenatal massage, not just an altered regular massage while lying on my side; she got into my hips, my ribs, my feet, areas I didn't know would feel so good while pregnant. I'm pregnant with my second baby and throughout my first pregnancy and this one have had several prenatal messages from different people. Meg has been the best BY FAR and I wouldn't go to anyone else now. Some massage therapists say they do prenatal but are obviously a little scared of massaging pregnant women which ends up being more of a light rub than a real massage - relaxing but does not help those very sore muscles! Meg gives the perfect balance of a firm massage that is actually therapeutic yet it was never too much and never made me feel uncomfortable even at 35 weeks pregnant. I've seen her twice this pregnancy for bad hip and pelvic pain and walked out feeling immensely better! 2 words: HEALING HANDS!! Hands down one of the BEST massages I've gotten where I instantly felt better within minutes after the massage. I've always been super picky about finding a good masseuse and Meg is a God send! 24 weeks pregnant and I was having horrible back aches, rib pain and couldn't find a comfortable position for weeks and she took the time to help place me on the table and teach me how to place pillows properly in order to get the best support. I didn't even need to tell her where I had the most tension because she was able to spot it on just by touch. I can't recommend her enough. I hope to continue seeing her even after having the baby! I have been going to Mama Meg's for over a year and was so happy to learn they'd reopened recently after getting cleared by Alameda County Health and CDC COVID-19 health requirements. Protocols were clear and efficient and I felt extremely safe and taken care of. Before you arrive you must fill out a brief COVID screening questionnaire. When you arrive, they take your temperature with one of those no-contact (infrared/forehead) thermometers, they have you wash your hands thoroughly, etc. I have seen many massage therapists in my life and Meg and her team have always been some of the best. read more

The massages at Mama Meg's are amazing, restorative, therapeutic treatments. I've worked with Meg & Amanda who are both great-- very strong hands and responsive to feedback (both pre-therapy and during the treatment). Meg really listens to what my goals are for the sessions and addresses my needs. She starts with an essential oil treatment to help clear the mind. The room is always warm with heated blankets and very comfortable and quiet. I do like the relaxing music she plays during the session which helps keep my mind from wandering. Beyond just relaxation, I think of these treatments as more of body work/physical therapy sessions. The deep tissue massage helps me achieve similar results to myofascial release treatments I've had elsewhere (but this is more enjoyable!) I love that I can book online and that Meg offers packages. When I found Meghan, I was first of all impressed by the number of 5-star reviews she's received here. Literally, pages. I'm currently pregnant and I've had problems finding someone local who can do a really great pregnancy massage the proper way. I had the usual backache from carrying a tiny human and I needed a little pampering. I really liked that I was able to clearly see Meghan's schedule on her website and that all the times she had available were perfect for anyone who works during the day. The times are very convenient for after work (enough time to get from the city back to the East Bay without rushing) and a few times on the weekend. I contacted through her site and she quickly replied within 24 hours (which I also appreciated) with all the times she had available. I was able to set up something the following week. The day of the massage she showed up promptly on time and somehow packed an arsenal of supplies and turned my spare room into a little spa. I was able to choose an aromatherapy scent and she even had a heating pad for the table. I had a few problem areas, but she also worked out knots that I didn't even know I had in other areas. I've had all kinds of massages in the past and I really liked the style of her massage. It was the right amount of relaxing, yet deep enough to really get at all of my problem areas. Although I did not ask for a deep tissue/sports massage, she intuitively found knots and tension in my legs and deep upper back that I didn't even know were there. Meghan has been a lifesaver in helping me control my migraines and stress. Meghan is an expert on helping me manage my migraines. My friend got me a massage with Meg as a birthday present 3 weeks after I gave birth - SUCH a great gift! With a 3 week old, leaving the house for more than an hour is hard, so having Meg come to my house made it so easy. I've never had an in-home massage, but I will definitely have more. so the wife found meg somehow and i cant tell you how happy this makes me. ive been a regular on the day spa, massage circuit for awhile now, since the early 2000s. was a regular at re:fresh day spa, a member at burke williams, and wasted too many afternoons lounging at the pool at nobhill. this was mainly because i used to party alot and needed time to recover. in the asian countries, youd go to the public bath and sweat out your sins from the night before... but i digress. ive been nearly every reputable day spa in the greater san francisco area, worked with literally hundreds of therapists.... meg is hands down the best massage therapists i have ever had the pleasure to work with. the wife set up a session for herself at our house. meg came to our remote house in the hills and went right at it. a little while later, the wife comes to me and said shes is amazing, that i need to do a session too. a couple weeks later, we set up a back to back session at our house. meg knows what shes doing. like if i had to compare this, it would be like something thats mass produced compared to one that is built for you. it wasnt just relaxing, it was therapeutic. i had a bad tweak in my lower back that day. all gone. usually it would take a session and some time to heal up.... nope. was gone almost immediately. no problem recommending meg to anyone and everyone. read more
