I always find space to stretch with no issue and have never had to wait for what I need. People put their weights back. There are spray bottles and cloths to wipe what you use after. The bathrooms are clean, and the red light sauna is a treat (honestly my deciding factor for adding the membership lol). I've yet to use the cold plunge or the showers. You get $10 off when you have more than 1 membership. I had a billing issue in the beginning and they were very responsive and helpful. All together I pay $164/mo for both. The lack of a parking lot is a mild inconvenience, but street parking is hardly an issue with all the residential streets with free parking around Park. Great gym!!

Because I worked in SF finance district, I found a person who does chiropractic and acupuncture. I keep going nowadays every year. He's the only doctor I trusted because he was so good. However, 6 months ago, because of work stress, and led to be fired. My nerve system was completely messed up. I didn't recognize how much the stress damaged my body. Every night I slept in pain, woke up with tensed body and sore and painful muscles. I went to see the person in SF a few times, and I couldn't believe it didn't work after lots of treatment because it has been working with me for the past 10 years for my knee, shoulder, and hip pains. A few days ago, I realized it's the stress that completely messed up my nerve system. And I need to find someone to help me relieve my nerve system. Because of the realization, I thought about Kevin immediately and booked an appointment with him. I went in today, and he wrote down the notes for the pains I had, and he wrote down his plan with a few hand movements in the air to see which part of my body should be treated first. Patiently, he gave me treatment, and after each one, I walked outside his clinic, and I could tell my turns got faster and the pace got bigger. One of the major pains is in my left leg, left hip, one of the gentle adjustments he made, after 1 s, I stood there see my body turning 7 times on the left naturally without any pull from anybody. Finally, that side got relieved, my hip rotated back to where it was supposed to be. The back of my knee was swollen with a big ball. The acupuncture didn't take it away completely. Kevin told me that the front muscle was rotated outward. He made a few adjustments, and when I put my leg down from the stool, I felt like someone was pulling my leg down with a soft landing, and I could feel and see myself standing like a normal person without leaning to the left. Neck and shoulder were the biggest pain I had, and Kevin started with that area as the 1st treat. Immediately, my shoulder went down, headache was removed. If you like me being stressed. So I'm sharing this update here on Yelp instead. I will only use my first name and it's Sonja. I've been seeing Dr. Reed Coast for several months now for my foot injury, and what really stands out about him is how warm, gentle, and kind he is. The way he communicates with you as a patient, the way he evaluates you, and the way he explains things so clearly, it all helps you feel confident about making the best decision for your care. He's very personable, and that makes a huge difference when you're in constant pain and dealing with different doctors. In the past, I've seen other providers for the same injury, and I just didn't feel like I got the same level of care. But with Dr. Coast, I actually look forward to my visits because I know he's going to be hands-on and really present. I appreciate that so much. When he walks into the room, you never feel rushed. He doesn't make you feel like he's just trying to get through your appointment and move on to the next person. He sits with you, listens with intention, and takes the time to explain your treatment plan in a way that makes sense. He lays out your options and helps you understand what's going on with your injury. Every time I leave his office, I feel grateful that he's my doctor. Dr. Coast's staff is truly a reflection of the care he provides. From the moment you check in to the time you're brought into the room, every one of those ladies is kind, professional, and welcoming. They always greet you with a smile, and that makes all the difference. It sets the tone for the visit and helps you feel at ease, even when you're dealing with pain or just not feeling your best. There was only one pot on his stove, and he didn't do any traditional tongue or pulse diagnosis, which tells me it's something he "prescribes" for everyone with pain. I did not get any pain relief from the treatment. I am disappointed because I wanted and expected Traditional Chinese medicine but got some other kind of hybrid treatment. Maybe it works for some, but, unlike what I love about Chinese medicine, and like what I don't love about western medicine, it seemed too limited and impersonal for me. However, Mr. Tang himself is very nice.

My last visit with Alameda Acupuncture was in December 2019. I'm a U.S. Air force veteran who served 4.25 years active. At the outset and just before having the 1st appointment, the VA then-accorded veterans the-option of undergoing acupuncture outside of the VA network. Indeed, being by nature an adventurer, I opted to go outside the VA, wanting to experience a fresh turn on healthcare, say... In this accord, the VA hosted a queue of practitioners from which one could choose: I immediately chose Alameda Acupuncture; after all, it is located in right here Alameda where I live -- a walk of 2 blocks to the bus stop and a bee line of 2 miles and I'm there ~~ no challenge, see? When I walked into their office that first day, mirabile visu I relaxed at once; the energy? -- that of the healing. I could feel this at once. I met with both Doctors John and Jenny Nieters for my appointments and verily with Kathryn Black, who became, say, my dedicated healer. So resonant were we as patient and healer that I fancied her my lab partner: ay we'd share on all matter of intrigues -- on health, science, ay on that of music; this, while she administered her acupuncture treatments. And, you see, to me such resonance is the sort of energy proving as essential to healing as are the acupuncture treatments themselves. Indeed, I always felt better on departing that office than when first stepping in -- a pronounced mark of healing and true healers. Wow, how does one write a review about someone who has completely changed their life. Well I'll give it a try. John has been my primary medical provider for about 12 years. Yes I have an MD but rarely see her since John Nieters and for about the last 2 years Lynn Belcher have treated 99% of what ales me. I've suffered with issue including PMS, headaches, RSI, Digestive issues, Anal Fissure, sciatica, Acne, back pain, and neck pain. All with positive results!!! At times due to lack of funds I have tried less expensive acupuncturists and even community acupuncture but never got the results I received when saw John or Lynn and as a matter of fact had no change in my pain when at the community acupuncture clinic. John is skilled not only as an acupuncturist he is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. So he is well versed in the western medical sciences. He has explained my numerous medical labs like my MD never has and it has made a difference in my health. John has counseled me endlessly of nutrition and supplements I should be taking to improve my health and guess what...They worked. The office has a calm and welcoming feel. All the staff are great and very helpful. I feel so taken care of and listened too. They really go above and beyond any other practitioner in the health care field I have ever seen.. I started seeing Dr. Jenny Nieters in June 2024 and she has helped me tremendously. I was a soccer goalkeeper at the University of Southern California and she has seen me through multiple injuries. For about a year, I struggled to understand what was going on with my adductors. Without relying on any scans/imaging--and based solely on working on me over a period of time--Dr. Nieters suspected that my adductors weren't fully attached. She recommended that I travel to Philadelphia to visit Vincera Institute, a specialized core clinic, for further imaging. Through that process, I learned that both my adductors and my rectus abdominis were not fully attached, and that I would need a combined hip and core surgery. If it weren't for Dr. Nieters, I would have only undergone hip surgery and would not have discovered the full extent of my physical situation for a long time. I had surgery in September 2025 and am currently working hard at rehab. Thanks to Dr. Nieters, I now have a real chance to get back on the field. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also one of the kindest, and most genuinely caring people I've ever met. She has a true gift for what she does. Dr. Nieters and his staff are outstanding! I was recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis of my right hip. The pain kept me awake at night and prevented me from playing ice hockey and engaging in any vigorous activity. My sports medicine physician recommended cortisone injections directly in the hip joint and then hip replacement. I had never had acupuncture but my daughter persuaded me to see Dr. Nieters before trying the injections or surgery. He prescribed electro acupuncture, some supplements, gentle stretching, and massage. The results have been amazing. The pain and inflammation have been significantly reduced. I can sleep through the night without pain. I no longer limp, and I can walk, hike, and swim. I am convinced that Dr. Nieter's electro acupuncture and Lynn's massage have allowed me to avoid hip surgery. In addition to all that, his staff is friendly and supportive. It's a very relaxing and soothing environment. I love to go for treatment cause I feel so relaxed and happy after each visit. read more

I am writing this in efforts of giving hope to women who are suffering from early menopause or menopausal symptoms. I was told by my OB that I could not do anything to ease (let alone even reverse) my peri-menopausal symptoms I was suffering with up to 5 hot flashes an hour and was an emotional mess. My blood tests showed an FSH levels in November of 2013 were 67. God awful for a 41 year old. But fast forward 5 months -and thanks to Dr Nieters a world better!! New FSH levels as of march 2013 are 3.8; a Complete reversal to normal levels !!!! My hot flashes are GONE and I am emotionally balanced. Ladies please know that there is hope. Acupuncture and the consultation with Tracy was a great experience and has had a noticeable impact on the quality of my life. I believe in alternative/Eastern medicine but hate, I mean hate, needles so I was hesitant to try acupuncture. Tracy made the experience a great one, she spends time to really understand how you are feeling and what is out of balance. She sets the tone for a relaxed, easy and effective session. She also gave me a few dietary recommendations that have made a major difference. I'm in really good shape, do yoga/exercise and eat pretty well, but I drank 2-3 diet sodas a day and a few other things that Ive cut out or down 90% at Tracy's recommendation and Ive noticed I am more balanced overall as a result. I have been coming to see John Nieters for over seven years. I was a train wreck when I came to him with a chronic, progressive disease that Western doctors predicted could land me in a wheel chair. I see Tracy primarily for Tui-Na, a stomach and intestine massage. She softens me up and relaxes me for John's acupuncture needles. Since seeing her my digestion and elimination have improved tremendously. With Tracy's gentle, sensitive hands, my whole being feels more relaxed. My shoulder has been bothering me for months, so I booked an orthopedic massage and acupuncture from Lynn Belcher. Lynn was absolutely the best- her skills, knowledge, and demeanor made my shoulder feel better than it has in months! For me, nothing matters more than results. I highly recommend Tracy. After years of suffering and seeing western doctors with no luck, I decided to try eastern medicine. With a couple of acupuncture treatments, daily herbs and some simple modifications to my diet I have not had any problems. Tracy showed me some simple Tai Chi exercises I do five or ten minutes a day after work. Then my back, damaged in a car accident and past the period where the driver's insurance co. would take care of it, went out. I was paralyzed on the right side of my torso, and could NOT afford three weeks on my back. In desperation, since nothing had helped on previous episodes, I turned to Yelp for an acupuncturist in Alameda. John Nieters' office was the highest recommended. I had one session with Tracy, after which I could move like a human. After a session with Lynn the next day, I could do jumping jacks. (I didn't, but I COULD have.) A month later, it went out again, worse. One session and I was moving like something other than a robot. Now I go monthly and am problem-free. It's not cheap (which they warned me when I called), but if there's a better example of "you get what you pay for," I've never seen it! From what I'd seen of Oriental medicine before, I was very skeptical - I expected things like foot baths to treat bronchitis, and my Western Medicine-sympathetic brain couldn't wrap itself around it. I went only because I was literally desperate. But rather than something that required *any* suspension of disbelief, what I got was not too dissimilar from what I've had at physical therapists' offices, only this was actually effective. Instead of applying patches to my skin through which electro-stim current flows, they used a similar technique through needles - getting the current RIGHT INTO the knot, achieving in minutes what neither P/T or massage had been able to do in months. Now I also see them for tendinitis in my heel, damaged in a work accident. I took P/t for five months with almost no effect and rather than letting worker's comp put me on super-steroids with nasty side-effects, I talked them into letting me go to Tracy. After four sessions, the tenderness is MUCH decreased and I've even had painfree days for the first time in a year, No one's believes more than a convert. Call me highly religious.

But I will try now, because this place and the beautiful kind hearted women who run this business, Tai and Clo, truly saved my life. She suggested going off the meds * told me i was "too old to donate blood" (which i do regularly) without any medical evidence to back that up (google it yourself) I'm 67 * sold me a TON of meds to take instead - overall visit for "checkup, acupuncture and herbal meds": $250 cash or venmo only. * told me to stop taking daily vitamins and suppliments - i'm very healthy and attribute that to taking vitamins, etc. ALL MY LIFE * told me to go to bed before 10pm. Told her i WORK NIGHTS - her reply: "go to bed before 10pm" her ability to communicate in English was poor, not a helpful trait in someone who is guiding you in your healing. This was an immediate red flag: we spent every 3rd sentence translating her verbiage into something i could understand ("how is your poo-poo"?) seriously not worth your time and money. BTW if you want some free chinese herbs/meds i can hook you up with the ones i haven't touched.

Out of desperation I tried. She was very understanding and I never saw the needles she used on my back. They didn't hurt and she used them on the muscle knots on my back.
