My family has been coming to sarah for multiple decades. She is an excellent tailor and the gold standard for getting a pants hem. I am very short and therefore all my pants are constantly too long. This visit, I brought sarah 5 pairs of pants, 4 of which were objectively difficult to hem; two super wide legged pants (one linen and one pleated suit pants), 2 made of this weird thick satin. The last pair was a front pleat cargo pant type dress pant. The way she hems is flawless. It's incredible how I cannot see the hem from the outside of the pant. I can see it's been done on the inside but on the outside you can't see the stitches at all even on very thin fabric. These 5 pairs were a very fair price! 14-18$ depending on the fabric and cut of each pant. I called before my visit because in order to tailor pants you need to try them on and have them pinned at the right length-- this takes time if you need to do it 5x in a row. So I called on a Monday and asked when would be a good time for me to come in Tuesday? She gave me a good time and when I walked in I was seen immediately. Took about 30 mins to do all the pinning. She said come pick them up in two weeks. At the exact two week point she called to let me know that the pants were done. Everything fits perfectly!! read more

I was looking to get my pants hemmed and found this place with great reviews so I stopped by one day. I got there around 1 pm but it was closed so I left and went there again about an hour later. She greeted me with 'Can you come back tomorrow?' And I was like 'are you closed?' She said 'No, but I am busy' so I told her I came by earlier but you were closed and now you asked me to come back again? She said it was lunch time which was understandable but now she tried to reject me saying that she was so busy....so I was so upset and going to leave then she reluctantly asked me what I wanted to do ....... I said get my pants hemmed and she took it. She said it would be ready in 2 weeks and I was like woww but I was ok with it since I was not in a hurry. Today I went there again and the minute she saw me...... Without any 'Hi, how are you?' She said CAN YOU COME BACK TOMORROW? Ok I was like 'Dejavu!' And I responded ok She said YEAH COME BACK TOMORROW. My answer was ' OK I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK EVER AGAIN!!!!' Am I asking you to do for free? If you are too busy, 1. Hire another person or 2. Close one more day in order to be able to finish all the work! Well please note that you are not the only alteration spot in town and you are not the best one anyway. Now I just found SMART CLEANERS in the village not too far from this and she was much nicer, more polite and the price was reasonable. What a horrible experience! My Wife Was in Tears My wife went to drop off several items and get an opinion on their ability to clean some others. Heads up, their advertised deal of getting a percentage off when you drop off 10 items is riddled with exceptions. For that and sentimental reasons my wife was hesitant to drop off the Hanbok (traditional Korean fancy dress) that she wore at our wedding. The staff member pushed and pressured her to drop it off and let them clean, with lots of assurances they knew what they were doing with the delicate item. On pick up, a prominent section of embroidery had bled, marring the white fabric obviously. This was initially passed off with a shrug and suggestion that, "nobody will notice." As my wife balked, the lady offered to discount on the charge for that one, now ruined item. Only after my wife became visibly emotional did she decide to not charge for that item, though she did still ring up full price for the other $200 worth of cleaning, such as it was. As for the other items, the only significant stain on my similar outfit was essentially untouched, no improvement. The conclusion was a glib statement that they had "learned their lesson" and would no longer attempt to clean similar articles, which was a funny thing to add after the earlier assurances that they were professionals in this area. Disappointed with the quality of work. Appalled with the initial plan to just wave off the damage and charge full price. Not impressed with the "graciousness" of not charging us for the privilege of having them ruin a sentimental piece of clothing. read more

That takes a lot of skill. This jacket is pretty unique design (they don't make it this style anymore) and now will continue to be with me on my travels in the future. I went in needing an alteration and a hem for my bridesmaid dress. She altered the shoulder and said that I didn't need a hem on the bottom. She said that because she is altering the shoulder, it lifts the bottom of the dress. She cared more about me saving money. There was no need to hem the bottom. She told me that it would have cost me over $100 because it would be a double layer hem on the bottom. Thank you so much for everything. read more

I came here on Thursday in desperate need of an alteration for a wedding on Saturday. I had a sari blouse and chunni (long scarf) for my friends wedding that needed to be fixed. Usually I would go to a tailor familiar with Indian clothing, but with only 2 days until the wedding, I didn't have time. After finding this place on Yelp I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. They were so helpful and nice. The sari blouse was way too small and needed to be taken all the way out....perhaps I've been eating too much butter chicken. They did a wonderful job fixing the silk sari blouse. The chunni was ripped on the border and it wasn't an easy fix, but they did an amazing job fixing the woven border flawlessly. Everything was ready right on time by Saturday morning. I had to prepay for the service and after I told her I was not happy with what she had done, she informed me that there was nothing more she would do for me. The absolute WORST service ever. I'm not one to post but when I feel the need to Inform people I do. I gave it one star due to not having any negative start ratings available. My husband and I took BRAND NEW 100% wool pants to be dry cleaned. Not sure what they did but they shrunk them. When we spoke to the lady there in charge she tried to say it was a manufacturer issue when clearly my husband tried them on and they fit perfect before taking them there. We tried to explain to her but she kept brushing us off not admitting fault. We have been dry cleaning 100% wool pants for 25 years at other dry cleaners and NEVER had a problem. We take it here and they managed to ruin 3 pairs. DO NOT take to your clothes here. If they ruin your clothes they will not take accountability for their errors. Save yourself the headache of dealing with her and the time by going elsewhere. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOTHES FOR ANY SERVICE. The lady will act like she don't understand what your complaining about and tell you it's not their fault. The worst experience ever. They do not appreciate their customers. At the last minute, my daughter decided to go to her junior prom. We decided to order her dress online and when it arrived it needed alterations. Based on the reviews, I decided to go to this place. The seamstress did a great job! My daughter has wide hips but a small waist so when the dress arrived she was swimming in it. Once the seamstress was done, my daughter didn't stop smiling. I took my jeans here to have them shortened and was surprised by the service that I got. The women who works here is super sweet and funny too! But what surprised me was that she pointed things out to me that I didn't even notice. I had gotten my jeans at Nordstrom Rack and she pointed out all the flaws to me and made sure I didn't want to return them instead of alter them. Now I see why they were at the rack! But I went ahead and had them altered anyway. I asked to have them ready on Saturday (dropped them off Thursday) and she said to come at 2pm on Saturday. When I wasn't able to come on time, she stayed late just for me. I will for sure be using them in the future. Great service and reasonable prices. i found this place through yelp and called them and ask how much they charge to shorten a pair of jeans. The lady answered the phone, very friendly voice and told me it will cost 6 bucks. I though wow that's so cheap so I told her I would bring a couple pair of jeans the next day. i got there and yes she was just as friendly as her voice was on the phone. I tell you, she could sell a real estate with her personality. So I gave her my jeans but she said she charges $12 bucks for each. If she wasn't nice, i would say forget it because it wasn't what she told me on the phone. And even though it's actually what they charge for it but told the customer otherwise, they have to stick to what they told them especially if they come to your business for that reason. Then they could tell them they actually charge this amount and will charge that amount next time since its them who made the mistake. I thought she probably just had too much things in her mind that day and she probably meant $12 when she told me on the phone so i let go. Plus she was nice and I had my jeans shortened somewhere else before ( but got it the following day) for that same amount so it didn't bother me. I brought my jeans there saturday and she had me scheduled to pick it up wednesday. Picked it up 9 AM wednesday but I guess I was too early and she had not sew it yet. She said I should have called the day before but I didn't because i thought i could get it any time on wednesday.I told her i live in the other side of the bay and just came for it. She was empathetic about it and asked me to just wait for it and she finished it there in 15 mins. I got my jeans that day. Happy I could wear my jeans now because am such tiny and short flip. I am giving this place 5 stars because they were able to fix my dress really fast. My friend was getting married on a Saturday and Monday I broke the zipper on my dress I was the Maid of Honor so getting a different dress was NOT an option. I brought the dress in on Tuesday morning told I needed to have it back by Thursday or the very latest Friday. They fixed the zipper and steamed the dress for me and I had it back on Thursday. Needed to find a local dry cleaner and Yelp came to the rescue. Only gripe - it takes 7 days to get your dry cleaning done... they send them off site, so same day service is not an option. You get 20% off if you spend more than $50... which I did since I like to bring my stuff in in bulk. Pants were $5.50 & coats are $14 I had 2 dresses, one was $10.50 and the other was $12.50. The other dress was more expensive b/c I had punch stains on it that weren't soaked and were in the dress for almost a week... They got it out to the point that it's not noticeable... but if you look really close, you can see it. that's fine for me. at least I can wear it again =) I'm gonna try out other cleaners in the area (since I'm new here)... but this is definitely up there on the list. read more

I wonder if the owners are new? I remember coming here years ago to have a sport coat altered. The male proprietor, who I assumed was also the tailor, did a fantastic job. The woman I dealt with was Korean, rather brusque, and I thought overcharged me for a simple hemming of some straight legged sweats. Two pairs came to $26. I didn't argue, but maybe that's the going rate now. She did a satisfactory job, but she didn't use a serger machine. A week later my husband and I came in to see if she could patch up an old gi of his with similar material, nothing fancy, we told her. It was just sentimental to him. She vehemently refused. My husband was seething inside, but hid it from her. We also had more of those same pants to have hemmed, but since he didn't like her response, even after he said he'd pay her whatever she wanted, within reason, he looked at me and said, "let's go." After coming in there to get my dress taken out twice (I gained weight, obviously), they fixed it to be just right! The dress was extremely cheap anyways (i'm very thrifty), but after they took it out, it fit me perfectly and it seemed like a very expensive and extravagant dress! Received many compliments on it so I'm glad that they were able to make it work so that I can wear it. They are extremely friendly and it seems like they can do anything with whatever you bring in & they call you on the phone if your order is ready ahead of time in a singy-matter. LOVE IT! read more
