Macy's customer service has been going down the toilet for decades. Tonight's experience was even worse than usual. I had to go to multiple departments to make returns, which was a pain because I was carrying cumbersome packaging. There should really be a centralized location where you can return online orders instead of having to go from department to department. I had also received an item in error, for which I was not charged. I was informed by the cashier processing one of my returns that I would have to take the item home, contact Macy's for a return label, and then send the item back myself. I'm sorry, WHY couldn't the store handle the return for me? I was honest enough to tell them I'd received an item I hadn't paid for, and now the onus is on me to return it via mail even though I was AT a Macy's. Ridiculous! I also had an Origins item to return. I was informed they didn't have Origins in that store, so even though it was a Macy's purchase, they couldn't accept the return and refund my money. I was told I'd have to return it at another Macy's that had Origins. I asked if the other stores still had Origins, and they said they didn't know! I felt like at every turn I was confronted with people who didn't know, didn't care, and who couldn't be bothered to find out information to help me. THEN, my horrible luck, before I even GOT to the other Macy's location to return the Origins item, I somehow LOST the item. I don't know what happened, but between the Glendale Galleria and my car, the handle on the bag broke or something, and I lost it. I didn't find out until I parked at the second Macy's location and went to grab the package only to find it gone. So, now, thanks to bad customer service, stupid store policy, and rotten luck, I'm out $54 plus tax, when I wouldn't have been out any money, if I'd just been able to return my Macy's purchase AT that Macy's! I probably got the worst service I have ever had. I went to the urban decay makeup section and the man working there completely ignored me. I then waited as he went and spoke to another coworker (who was probably also ignoring her section) for more than 20 minutes. I waited to speak to him and he continued to talk to her about how their weekend went. It took so long that I left before I could even ask him my question. This has to be the most crowded, most chaotic Macy's around. The place is always packed, the store layout is haphazard and trying to get into a fitting room is like being stuck on the 5. DO NOT DO PRESALE OR SIGN UP FOR A MACYS CARD!!!!! If I can give -5 stars I would because that's what they deserve....Where do I begin... I have had the worst experience at Macy's or any other department store that I have ever had in my life! I am not an avid shopper but when I do I go to Macy's for their selection... I went to do some shopping at Macy's in the Glendale Galleria on April 23, 2019. I spent a good four hours shopping for several pieces of clothing that I needed for some upcoming trips, one being the following week and when I say four hours I am not kidding. I spent over $1400 there that day which some would consider a somewhat large purchase for a regular customer. I purchased about 29 pieces of clothing, so imagine how long it took me to put them all together. The sales associate suggested putting them on pre-sale To get additional discounts since it was such a large purchase, which brought my purchase price down to $1141.65 at the register And an additional discount for opening up a Macy's card, which I did. All mistakes. If you like something buy it do not leave it for pre-sale especially if it's a large order, they will mess things up there as they did with all my merchandise. When I came back to pick up the merchandise the following week there was 2 bags missing that nobody could find, neither The Manager nor the sales associates nor other people who kept coming up and going to the back to look for the bag. Everyone just kept coming back to me with a blank look on their face not knowing what to do. It's very easy to figure out what to do pull up my receipt and look for the closing instead of making me wait an hour and a half while random people keep going to the back to look for a bag that nobody can find. Out of the 29 items I only had 17. And this was a week later so can you imagine my frustration. 12 MISSING ITEMS! I don't remember exactly what Clothes were missing from what I had purchased. I had to tell them that I don't have time to wait anymore why don't they just look for the missing clothes, i'm not sure if it was the manager or the sales associate or some other customer service girl that said yes I will look for the clothes and I wait an additional half hour and she came back with one article of clothing and I said I'll be back in an hour or so, so I left and when I came back guess what... There was only one additional article of clothing that she had found, HOW HARD IS IT! You have the SKUs and when you punch the SKU number into the computer a picture pops up, I saw it myself, how freaking difficult can it be! so I said I'll come back the following day. When I return the following day she had only accumulated six of the 12 missing pieces and as a gesture of good faith gave me a $50 discount coupon. Which if you asked me does not accumulate to 2 1/2 hours of waiting and two additional trips I have made to Macy's so far, But I was being a good sport and had the majority of my clothing and told her to just ship the rest of the clothing to me even though I needed one or two pieces for a trip that I was going to be on before the clothes would get to me. So the icing on the cake is that I received my clothing and my bill and I was supposed to get not only $50 off for the coupon but $100-$120off for signing up for the Macy's card, I have no idea what they did but there was so many returns and re-purchase's that I cannot make any sense of it and my monthly bill for my Macy's card is $1117.68, so not only is the $110 discount that was supposed to be deducted for getting a Macy's card not there, the $50 that was supposed to be an additional discount is not there either my original charge was $1141 at the checkstand before those two discounts so technically I should be receiving about $160 discount off of that price which would bring me down to about $990. So now I have to take all my receipts and my bill and go down to Macy's one more time to correct this problem and I have to do this in a timely manner so I don't get charged interest fees on my Macy's card and this is only based on one purchase. Folks do not do pre-sale if you're buying a lot of merchandise and do not get a Macy's card for the discount it is not worth it. Originally they told me I would get an additional 20% off for signing up with the Macy's card after I signed up and everything went through they said you got the discount it's up to $110 which was not informed to me. I am so frustrated with this company especially that location specifically their customer service is horrible and they did nothing to sufficiently make me feel better....$50..ya right! I would've paid an additional $50 not to have gone through all that, in fact they made me wait and wait and wait while nobody had a solution read more

Okay it's Glendale, so most workers here seems like they have some stank attitude. However, not Nydia she's a small petite older lady and she seems to love her job and goes out of her way to make you feel special. I was looking for a rose colored AK bracelet to exchange since one of my stones fell out during delivery. So I went to a lady at the counter and she just brushed me off and told us to go to the counter and the lady will help me. Basically she had nothing to do, but since it was closing hours she didn't want to be bothered. Then we came across Nydia, she did everything possible to look for the bracelet since there was only silver available. She opened the drawers back and forth and nothing was there. She went back to the computer to check the inventory and noticed there were 5 rose colored available at the Glendale location so she went back to the drawers and one by one she opened and was bending down to check and sort out of the accessories to look for my rose colored bracelet. I'm not kidding I think she opened more than 9 drawers and was on her knees trying to look for this bracelet. I felt so bad I even went down and helped her LOL. Since we weren't able to locate one, I told her that I will just exchange it through online. You would think after all that trouble she would be rude and annoyed at us, no she had a smile throughout the whole thing and told us good luck with the bracelet. Wow who does that? it's like monkeys running amok here. clothes thrown all over the place and the customers are excessively furred and rude. i have serious problems with being cut off at the price scanner machines twice in one damned day. one time i was leaning over to pick up something and the lady jammed her item over my face. i yelled in her face and she smiled and shrank away. i don't think she spoke english. another lady was climbing up my ass crack whilst waiting to look at the EXACT item i had picked up. even though there were 10 more on the rack. i hate macy's. read more

A sales lady saw me between the product stacked high on the counters and came out from around the counter and gave me the best service. It's 8:59 and I am getting ready to leave to go home. Out of sheer luck my belt loop gets hooked onto an object on my desk, and I am destined to enter this hell hole once again (for a new pair of pants of course). I came in here to only find myself in a place that has not changed since my last visit. Same horrible customer service only this time there was direct shots of mentally distressing verbal abuse thrown at me when I asked about a certain size in pants. I asked , can you help me with a size? She said sure , I brought over a pair of DKNY pants. The first thing she does after she scans the item is tell me that since this is a "slim fit" it does not come in length 29. So I asked her (which this girl was very kind and sweet and I don't have a problem with) does length have anything to do with the fit of a pant, she doesn't know ( which is totally fine people, I don't know a lot of things as well). The problem started when her co-worker, or (I hope to any greater being above us it was her co worker and not a manager) proceeds to tell me " a lot of people have your problem, you should probably look in the juniors section" if my day was measurably worse by an ounce I would of verbally chewed her up and spit her in the trash. I'm a 24 year old guy, you have the audacity to tell me to go to the juniors section? Let alone call it a "PROBLEM". Then out of that 4 minute conversation straight out of the demons script, this horrible person does not bother to tell me the doors upstairs are closed. So I go all the way up, and come all the way down, nobody bothers to tell me where to exit from, so I see a group of people and I follow them which eventually lead to an exit sign. On my way out I was approached by another rude human being. He stopped me as I was walking and said "merchandise check" I said no call security (I already knew he assumed I worked there but due to his lack of professionalism I wanted to see how long he is going to extend his degenerate behavior). So I had another 1.5 - 2 minute argument with this guy, until I asked him why, he said in a very rude and overpowered (maybe he thinks he's a secret agent) tone of voice "YOURE BREAKING POLICY, IF YOU WORK HERE I HAVE TO CHECK YOUR MERCHANDISE" I told him I'm not an employee I'm a customer, why did you assume that? I purchased shoes online and they were defective. I went to exchange them or return them and I provided the receipt. The cashier who barely spoke English was rude and smart ass. I asked for a manager and again rude with minimal English. They told me the return policy changed. I'm like the shoes are defective. What type of service is this. They would not exchange and they told me I need to provide more information even though the receipt was provided??? What other information I don't know. I ordered a pair of boots online and I was going to pick them up after the exchange. I picked them up and returned right away. Never purchase shoes from Macy's again. Nordstrom's has a better no hassle policy. Even Walmart has a better policy. This is by far one of the worst Macy's I have ever seen. Well, second worst compared to Eagle Rock Plaza's Macy's. First of all, everything in the juniors section is so cluttered and unorganized. Clothes are half hanging off hangers, clothes on the floor, and clothes that don't belong on certain racks. Men's dress wear is cluttered as well. Very difficult to find things and sloppy. Also difficult to find a sales associate in that department. The Benefit Cosmetics section is ok. Some associates were helpful and some weren't. Especially the lady who sold me a concealer with PINK undertones... When clearly I have yellow undertones and she even recognized me to half yellow undertones. Of course, she put the product on my hand and powdered it over and it look great with their indoor lighting. So I purchased it, Then I walked outside into the sunlight and BAM! My hand looked pink. Are you kidding me? I had to go back to return it. Why would you sell a girl with yellow undertones a pink undertone product and not even know that there's something clearly wrong with that look? I think some of their sales associates need to go back and look over products just so they can learn a thing or two before they waste customer's time. read more

Worst management at woman's section ever. Only one cashier on Dec 23rd evening on the register at the woman's section. Seriously? Any store at the mall has been well prepared for this night of last day of shopping before Christmas. Macy's please hire more managers with common sense or at least, better planning. I waited one hour to buy a lady's scarf. If I really didn't needed this scarf for my mom, I would have really gone to another store. I was only the 4th one in line, but it took one hour to be served. I was just helped by three lovely ladies who had just endured a few diva-like customers in a row (I came in on the last one, a lady who had an issue with the bronzer they'd applied and was being pretty nasty about it). Stay away from the shoe department on weekends or any busy day! The system is chaotic! Sales reps should just have designated people looking for shoes and separate people to ring people up. I spent 2 hours waiting to get the mate to a shoe and paying for them.
