I took the opportunity to take whole family to try smoothies at Macu Tea San Gabriel when they offer a rare BOGO offer. Service is friendly. They are busy making tea and smoothies. The store is small, so it offers a few benches. The plaza has underground parking. We have both avocado strawberry smoothies and mango avocado smoothies. They both tastes great. Recommend this place if you like something fresh with real fruity tea or smoothies that doesn't taste like icee with juice!

Macu Tea is such a solid spot if you're craving boba with variety. We got a mix of smoothies, fruity drinks, and milk tea, and everything was so refreshing, flavorful, and well-balanced. Nothing felt too heavy or too sweet, and it's the kind of place where you can easily find something depending on your mood of the day. There are limited seatings inside so this would be more on a grab and go spot. Staffs were so friendly and fast with services. Overall, definitely a reliable go-to spot for both fruity and tea-based drinks. we ordered: - King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 - Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie - Sunshine Li-Li Tea - Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea

We ordered: - Brown Sugar Boba Latte - Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba - Grapefruit Li-Li w/ honey drink - King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 - ACE Avocado Golden Smoothie Macu Tea has something for every mood! We went all in on the drinks and honestly, no regrets. The brown sugar boba latte was rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, with an amazing caramelized brown sugar coating on the boba that gave every sip that indulgent kick. The Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea had a deep, roasted tea flavor with a really nice balance of sweetness! Definitely the one to get if you prefer a stronger, more fragrant tea profile. The King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 was thick, fruity, and sooo fresh! And the ACE Avocado Golden Smoothie was also really good! Ultra creamy with a subtle sweetness that made it feel almost like a healthy dessert. The Grapefruit Li-Li w/ honey was super refreshing and a nice change-up between the creamier drinks. It had that citrusy tang with just enough honey to smooth it out, making it feel light but still flavorful. Service was quick, and there are so many options on the menu that it's easy to find something whether you're in the mood for classic milk tea or fruity blends!

They're in their soft opening phase. Plenty of parking in this plaza. They had $1 off for the first 100 customers which we missed sadly. There is limited seating inside with a kiosk to order from. I got their Chi-chi strawberry smoothie ($8.75). It was very fresh!

Golden Leaf Milk Tea - 5/5. Floral and slightly nutty tea base. I'd recommend getting the fresh milk version over the regular milk tea b/c their creamer powder can be pretty strong. They're known for their fruity drinks, but honestly I just come here for this particular milk tea with jasmine tea jelly.

Heard about the promotion on Instagram. We came by to take advantage of their Buy One Get One (BOGO) promotion, and it seems everyone else had the same idea! We ordered the King of Mango Smoothie, and it definitely lived up to the name. They are very generous with the fresh fruit--you can tell they aren't skimping on the ingredients. It was incredibly refreshing and easily some of the "good stuff" in terms of quality. Be prepared for a bit of a wait. The shop was very busy, and the service felt a bit slow, likely due to the high volume of orders from the promotion. If you're in a rush, this might not be the best time to visit, but the quality of the drink makes it worth the patience. Parking & Accessibility This is the main drawback: parking is not good. There are very limited spaces in the immediate area, so you might have to circle the block or walk a bit to get to the counter. Despite the slow pace and the parking headache, the drinks are top-tier. I'll definitely be back for that Mango smoothie!

When I got there, they had already run out of mango, so I ordered an avocado strawberry smoothie instead. The drink was actually pretty decent. However, the wait time was ridiculous--I waited about 22 minutes for my drink, and there were only three orders ahead of me (I was the third one). For such a slow service, it was pretty disappointing. Overall, I'd give them 2 stars.

Came for the soft opening deals and bc it's one of my fav boba shop! So happy i dont have to drive and pay parking for the pasadena location. Their drinks are always so delicious and refreshing. And this is the only place I've had tea jelly where it actually tastes like tea. I hope macu stays open here bc it seems a bit rough with like 5 other boba stores in the plaza.

Was excited to hear that Macu was opening here since its closer than the Pasadena location. There was no line to order when I came so that was good. They have a kiosk for self-ordering or you can just order at the counter. I ordered the King of Mango Smoothie (8.75) and there is a lot of ingredients in the drink and it is very fresh! The green tea jelly and mango smoothie tasted very fresh. They also have a nice sling as a cup sleeve. They have a small bench but no tables inside. The employees are friendly and very helpful. Will come back again!

I love Macu Tea! They just opened in the same plaza that has 3 other boba shops so competition is high now. They are doing some deals for their grand opening now and it's $1 dollar per drink for the first 100 customers. I got the Chi Chi Mango, which is a mango smoothie with tea jelly and topped with cream. It was super refreshing and not too sweet even though I had forgotten to ask for the sugar adjustment. The nice owner mentioned it's because the smoothie was made from fresh fruits and the tea jelly from actual tea!

It's a pleasant surprise that I found today, Amazing, Refreshing, Stunning drink!!! Will Definitely be back again~

Macu Tea in San Gabriel is FINALLY open and it did not disappoint First thing you'll notice--the drinks actually taste fresh. You can tell they're using real ingredients, not just syrups and powders. The flavors are super clean, not overly sweet, and honestly way more refreshing than most boba spots around here. The presentation is also on point --perfect if you're trying to get that aesthetic drink shot. The shop itself is bright, modern, and has that trendy vibe where you actually want to hang out for a bit. Service was smooth even with the opening crowd, which is always a good sign. You can tell they're well-prepared. San Gabriel has no shortage of boba, but Macu Tea definitely stands out. If you're into quality drinks and not just sugar bombs, this spot is a must-try

My friend and I checked out the new Macu Tea that opened in San Gabriel! They're currently doing a soft opening where you can order selected drinks from the menu (1 $1 drink cash only for each party, we got another discount for a second drink). They had a good amount of options for different types of drinks. We opted for some fruity drinks which were really fresh! For the price, it was a really good deal and definitely worth it! We got there pretty early around opening time so the wait wasn't too bad.

To order: Can order online, in store with the cashier or there are two kiosks available. Service has always been fine. Never an issue. SIGNATURE DRINKS: Original Thai Tea 4.5/5 70% sweet is sweet enough. 30% for less sweet. Thai Green Milk Tea 4.25/5 Not bad. Thai Red Plum 4.25/5 Kinda like it even though it's acquired taste. Definitely not the kind of drink I would have everyday, but good to have once in a long while. Thai Lemon Tea 2.5-3/5 Trying really hard to like it, but it's very so-so for me. Not my cup of tea. The Butterfly Collection: Honey Lemon Butterly Tea w/ Basil Seed 4.25/5 30% sugar. Like that it's slightly tart. Flavor/taste is good. Butterfly Pea Milk Tea w/ Basil Seed 4.25/5 30% sugar. Tastes sweeter than 30% sugar. Could taste the condensed milk. OTHER DRINKS: Yuzu Rose Tea 4.5/5 Bf likes this drink. I have couple sips and thought it was good (would order again). Thai Green Tea Latte 4.25/5 Their Thai Green Tea is pretty good. Probably won't be getting the latte version in the future cuz it comes with Pandan Boba and I'm kinda alright/so-so with it. Lychee Green Tea 4/5 Not bad. Decent.

They've been importing, growing, and supplying tea for over 80 years. There was a time when my ex was considering opening a Thai restaurant, and we'd go to LAX-C outside of downtown LA to make sure we could get Cha TraMue tea leaves in bulk. I actually like their rose drinks quite a bit too. And their choice of plastic cups are at least more structurally hardy - unlike places like 85'C that have cheaped out into using the softer, malleable plastic cups that have a higher tendency to leach microplastics under heat. I will say, I wouldn't deviate from the sweetness level for Thai tea too much. This location is a bit inconsistent so it'll taste off if you try to go to 70% or 50%. I usually avoid boba, but I make it an exception to get their pandan boba. Although again... sometimes their at this location is inconsistent, and it'll be missing that pleasant, aromatic pandan essence. Plus the they've also been too chicken shit to call out my name. You know, you enter your name: "Fat Boy." But when my order was ready, they'd only say "Boy!" Now I don't feel so guilty tipping only 15% instead of 20%.

It's nestled in a little plaza with minimal parking. Luckily, we went on a weekday and there were at least 2 parking spots open. The shop itself is small-- as soon as you enter, the register is right there with the self service kiosk to the left and the waiting area to the right. Even though there was only 1 party ahead of us, it took around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since we ordered a lot of drinks. For myself, I was able to try the traditional roasted oolong milk tea with pearl and the hojicha latte-- both at 70% sweet. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness was at a perfect level for both. However, I didn't get that much of a strong roasted oolong taste in the milk tea as I've gotten from other boba shops. The hojicha latte was good enough, but also did not have that strong, nutty taste in comparison to others. I am more of a milk tea person, but maybe next time I'll try the honey osthamnthus tea since a lot of people seem to love it!

Unfortunately, I sat on a sticky couch covered in long strands of old hair in a musty, unswept, grimy room while Staff casually rested by the counter. The location felt gross and unmaintained. I arrived at Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) on Tuesday - May 12, 2026 (at 12PM - Opening Time). The location was DIRTY! I quickly found parking in the small lot; it fits about 15 cars. Staff interaction felt nonexistent. Customers primarily order at the Self-Service Kiosk. I dislike how the kiosk requires a cell phone number to proceed. My drink took two minutes and 45 seconds. Quick. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Flower Tea ($5) with Brown Sugar Agar Boba (additional 75 cents). YUM! The Iced Flower Tea is a combination of Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum buds, Osmanthus, and Gomphrena Amaranth Flowers. The tea is honey-like, crisp, and thirst quenching. Concerning the boba, it's floral with a grape-like texture; it's an acquired taste. On ambiance, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) has wonderful potential. For example, I absolutely LOVE the plentiful electrical outlets, MANY boardgames for customers, and plush seating. There's also customer internet with password; details proudly displayed on the counter. And there's a gender neutral restroom. The lighting and art is also attractive. Unfortunately, during my visit, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) reminded me of an unmaintained, public city bus. I have seen "B Grade" Businesses that are cleanlier... The crevices and corners are littered with crumbs; parts of the tables are sticky; the couches and cushions are entangled with long, old hair. Overall, Moncha Cafe (Rosemead) is not bad. I genuinely enjoyed their tasty, affordable tea. However, I don't feel comfortable enough to return if they're unable to maintain a standard of cleanliness.
