Everyone who works there is always super super sweet. The shows and queens are keen. It's great to sit in front and smoke.

Pretty laid back spot with a cool interior (red velvet walls, tilted ceiling, lots of glass). They don't really have a fully stocked bar, but a decent selection of beer on tap. The back garden area is really cool, but the place feels a little cramped in the winter months. This is a good option if Union Pool and Barcade are too crazy. We got there rather early, 10 PM. Carded at the door but the bartender decided we looked young (I'm 25 guys, really) and snidely asked if we'd been carded. Although we weren't looking to get drizzy, it was disappointing all the same that no one tasted a drop of liquor in their mixed drink (one being a scotch and ginger, btw, so you'd think ...). There were strands of lights arbitrarily strung from the ceiling and it's only notable because it's WEIRD. One thing: the DJ was so into his music that you could look over and see him straight up jamming and singing along. I love that in a DJ, I really do. read more

Cheap bar, with a fun crowd and a cool DJ that plays oldies from the 90's and the drinks were strong and excellent

I lovingly refer to this place as Macaroni Park towards people I know. Try it, say it enough and your friends will know what you're talking about. The way this bar opens towards the street is very inviting. And often times it is. On a weekend afternoon it almost draws you in with its laid back atmosphere, comfortable booth seating, projector screen TV and friendlyish bartenders. I'm taking a star off though because it is simply way too busy to enjoy on Friday and Saturday nights. It gets way over crowded and the things that are the most positive about this place are stripped away. read more

I like this bar quite a bit. Its not for those who are high maintenance (i will not point those folks out), can not just chill, and who can not appreciate really bad flicks on the screen. Cool, chill spot with cheap beer and mixed drinks. Ok spacing, with tv's and weird ass movies playing. On this particular night the movie on the screen was Surf Nazis Must Die. It was weird as hell. The Dj was ok. Looks like a cool spot to pregame before a night in the area. read more

Didn't originally plan on going to this bar but my friends and I passed by it and it caught our eye - from the outside the bar looks small but there's good music and you can see people having fun, and that was good enough for us. Go inside, and the bar stretches out to a nice backyard picnic-like area. The beer is pretty cheap (cheapest being $3 waaaa), the music is indeed pretty good. A good amount of people dance in groups by the bar or outside, which is always a great time. If you're in it more a more low-key night, you can go to the back, sit and make new friends as you all share a lovely picnic table. The waitress was extremely rude. The inside is dark and unpleasant - just makes you want to get out of there as soon as you can. To sum it up - it is dirty, grungy and the drinks are priced too high for the low quality. To top it all off my friend had someone open the door of the bathroom on her while she was still inside. This place is amazing, the people that work here are saints and the vibes are always good. This is a neighborhood staple and I hope it's always around because it's a really chill spot to stop off quickly and escape the crap that has become Williamsburg. Who knows, ya might even get drunk enough here to wander into the Apple Store and break something. At least, I hope that's what happens. read more

Happy Hour specials are kickass. the scene was bumpin when we showed up after late lunch at fette sau. Live music, Galapagos now, it was a great space to spend a couple of hours, catch a buzz and people watch. read more

So I went to a party my friend threw there last night. I had a great time, although honestly I think my experience had to do more with the party than the actual bar. It did seem like it was a cool place though. However, I wanted to say this: To the tall bartender with the glasses: Thank you so much for being so gracious about giving me glasses of water all night. I wasn't drinking last night and was just super thirsty and sometimes people have so much attitude about giving out glasses of water. Not only were you nice about it, but by the end of the night you were a step ahead of me and would grab a glass of water every time you saw me near the bar. I just wanted to say thanks. That was really sweet of you. I realize I didn't get to tip you, I ran out of cash and by the time I was about to go get some more, we had to leave. A fun lounge with the heart of a dive bar. The atmosphere was very mellow and more hipster than I'd like, but the music selection was pretty stellar (semi-obscure 60s jams). They showed "The Trip," starring Peter Fonda creating a fun retro vibe. Anyway, I had a good time. read more

Decent spot for drinks overall. I went on early friday night so there's plenty of seats and spaces but fills up pretty quick after 10 pm. The atmosphere is great for meeting up a friend or two for conversation and drinks. Friendly bartenders, TV doing the "select-your-own Netflix", great selection of cocktails and beer. I unfortunately didn't ask about the free BBQs that they're famous about, but if I were to be back I would definitely try. read more

Who doesn't love a good dive bar with outdoor seating? Drinks are cheap, crowd is mixed, and outdoor area is bigger than most in this area. There was even a drag show here when I was here on a Friday. Fun place, would definitely return! read more

Meli is super-nice! I asked her if there is a drink that I could get for $2 with a tip of $1, and she said that since I'd already had a few, that it was perfectly legit for the bar to get one for me. She made me some delicious citrussy mixed drink and earned a $3 tip without patronizing me for my budget, especially since I had already extravagantly patronized their establishment. First time at Marci Park. I arrived @5:00 Fri. About 6 patrons total and 1 bartender. Her name is Meli or Meili. She was good and as the place began to fill she got better. Super chick, great service. Also, it was a stellar afternoon and the entrance is wide open with a view of the park accross the street. Definately coming back. Hopefully Meli will be there. So my one of my buddy's bar-tends there and the other occasionally DJ's, so of course we always have a good time. Ha I'm talking as if I'd been there a bunch of times, but I haven't. I went there on valentines day and had an awesome time! The people that came into this place were pretty chill but once the night went on there was definitely some dancing going on! Okay so imagine having the dopest significant other ever, and then one day going home to find that this perfect partner of yours packed up their belongings and left you a brief note saying so long. That's exactly how I felt when I visited Macri Park this past Saturday and heard the news of management change and the firing of all the staff. I felt like I was unfairly dumped. Macri Park was an absolute gem just the way it was. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY would you need to change a thing about that place? The friendliest bartenders I have ever ordered drinks from in my life. No pretense, no attitude, no shade. Only professionalism and smiles. Victoria bought me a drink on New Years when she wasn't even on the clock. If you were a regular and ever came to the bar and sat alone, one of the bartenders may have introduced you to another patron who was next to you and also solo. That was just the kind of place Macri was. Gay, straight, trans, black, hispanic, white, Asian, EVERYONE from different backgrounds enjoyed this bar and was welcomed. The place was almost empty on Saturday and I hope it stays that way and they continue to lose a ton of business until they restore the bar back to the way it was and offer every bartender and other staff members their jobs back. I won't spend another dime there until that happens. read more

Named after the little public square across the street, Macri Park just opened a few months ago. As of now, it still feels like they're still getting into the swing of things. If you manage to hit the place at the right time, you might land on a pretty sweet happy hour (I was there for $5 cocktails and $3 beers). But the bartender told me "it changes every week", so I can't plan out when to drop by. He also told me they're starting to have food too, but that seemed a little unreliable as well. If you're a fan of design, the place looks pretty cool from the inside and out. The back patio is pretty, but half of the in-ground lights don't work (apparently due to shoddy construction they broke right after it rained). I like the open-ness of the space but I wonder how it'll be when it's cold outside. If you're not there during one of the elusive happy hours then the drinks are a bit pricey-- especially when you consider Union Pool, Barcade and Alligator Lounge are right nearby. So it's nice for a posh drink, but if you want a more affordable neighborhood bar, there are lots of other options. read more

Went here on a Friday night because a friend of a friend knew the DJ. I didn't really know what to expect seeing as I rarely venture into Brooklyn to go out. The atmosphere is alright... dark, with funny 'velvet' wallpapered walls. We snagged a both for our group which was great and they had the Syracuse game up on the big screen. The atmosphere is laid back but I don't think we would have lasted very long without the booth. The booths were full and most of the bar stools but it was pretty quiet for a Friday so if you're looking for that this could be a good option. Drinks seemed reasonable- $6 well drinks and the bartender gave my friend a free double shot just because he asked for it ("yeah.. I'd like a shot of Jameson but um... I don't really want to pay for it.") which was not expected. In the end, while the place wasn't bad, we didn't really see any point in staying and left to go back to Manhattan after less than 2 hours. I wish I had a glowing review about the DJ friend of a friend but umm... no comment. read more

This space is really appealing somehow. It has a good glow and is cave like. The backyard is nice. No fake gimmicky decor. Prices are fair.

i went to meet a friend at union pool (which i am not a fan of) and we kept running down the block to macri park to use the loo since it was less crowded there. i was tempted to ditch my friend and stay at macri park. there is nothing all that special about the bar itself. but it was playing great music (darker edged electro and industrial sounding stuff) and the crowd was a lot more interesting than the meat market down the street. decent beers on tap. laid back loungey feeling. not a place to go out of your way for but if you are in the hood i think it is a nice local bar to frequent. read more
