Not very clean but cheap. Cute drag shows. Queens with some personality and body positivr. Shame that this place charges cover of selective nights when it is the size of a NYC studio.

I'm a very big fan of any reasonably priced bar that has an outdoor patio, Macri Park fits this criteria. It's a cozy bar that's literally right off the Metropolitan G stop. The back patio is a decent size with a bunch of picnic tables and a leather couch, inside there are three semi circular booths in addition to the bar. They even have a covered front entrance outside with a couple couches (mostly for smokers from what I can tell). Happy goes until 8pm where all drafts are $4 (mostly $6 after). In addition to the drink specials they also have weekly events here like Bingo on Tuesdays and something called "Drink and Draw" on Sundays where you bring your own art supplies and they provide a model. I'll make sure to come back for both those events and check back in. UPDATE: I've been back for Bingo on Tuesday. It was free, fun, and I won a beer. There aren't a ton of people who show up for it and you can come in at any time. They only give you a single Bingo board so it's easy to continue having a conversation while playing.

This place is so sus but it's a good spot to go for the 1230am shift of a drunken, weekend night.

I absolutely love the vibe here. Upstairs is a bar, with string lights and disco balls. It's laid…read moreback but still has a fun, lively feel. You can bring outside food and the cocktails a fantastic. Downstairs is a proper dance floor that usually opens at 11. You can effortlessly switch between hanging out upstairs and living it up in the basement which I love. If you can early enough you can even skip the cover charge!

You can choose from two main vibes at Cafe Balearica. Upstairs, you have a spacious, somewhat…read morerelaxed bar and lounge area. The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.
