The staff and patrons are always upbeat and welcoming, which makes it easy to actually relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe it's just me, but I never feel self-conscious here the way I do at a lot of other LGBT spots in the city where I have to squeeze myself through a maze of people. Looking from the outside, you'll be surprised that their venue has a bit of everything for everyone, so it's not just a neighborhood "dive bar." They have a small dance floor, a cute outdoor patio, and fun events going on all week. I probably avoided a busy night since I came on a Thursday evening, but even then, they really make the space work. Plus, the prices definitely beat Manhattan.
