Wanna put your metro in my politan

If you're a parrot that lives in a big city and you go tanning, they you have a Metro Polly Tan. This is a pretty awesome gay club in Brooklyn and I've been here a couple of times because I like going to gay clubs for all the attention that my body gets me. Barbie likes to take me to them too, but going alone usually gets me molested and hit on a lot, especially when I wear the baby oil all over, and show off most of my body, and such was the case here.

In here rn and asked the DJ with the shoulder length black hair if eventually tonight (no rush) could play saucy Santana for my best friends birthday and they said they, " didn't have that" and smirked. House music is outdated and boring see ya never again not the first time the music was absolutely ass. x Get better taste.

Love this place, little not my vibe on fridays but otherwise it's a Brooklyn staple. Great prices on drinks. I notice that some people have issues with staff, but you have to be doing something wrong or affiliating with some one who is bad news in order for them to give you issues.

This is literally the worse gay bar or club I ever been to in my entire life. When I went they had no working sinks,I think also no working toilets. The bartender named "Daniel" was EXTREMELY rude to me,VERY,I asked him why me and my friend were being asked to give up our seats when there were other patrons who were not asked to do so, being it was my first time there I did not understand,he answered in a very nasty shady catty mean way saying,"cause honey, life is unfair and it's about to be unfair for you now!",and he snatched the coaster from where it was infront of me. I responded with,"Actually life is very fair for me,may I please speak to your manager",He goes gets the manager,Steven McEnrue, and Daniel (the bartender proceeds to misgender me and starts to say,"She is mad because I told her," I corrected him and said,"Excuse me sir,I'm a he" since I am biologically born male I'm just extremely feminine (gender queer/non conforming),Steven, the manager proceeds to yell at me in a nasty horrible way saying,"Okay mister sister!","I said, excuse me?" He literally responded with,"You heard me bitch!" I have never in my life been more insulted, humiliated and disrespected by such low budget trashy cheap people in my entire life. It gets better,I tried contacting someone in a higher position to tell them the situation,I called,I emailed,I sent Facebook and Instagram messages, guess who runs all these things? Steven McEnrue and Daniel the bartender, that's why they feel they can do whatever they want to anyone, because they really feel they'll get away with it. I had to file a F.O.I.L. and for some reason I was unable to contact the owners,I will try again. I feel like suing this place,I am not the only one with a horror story, please look up their Google reviews. I will fight this to the bone to get justice because I will not be treated this way by anyone, ESPECIALLY not anyone in MY OWN "COMMUNITY",What a shame. I forgot to mention I went back to try to find out who the owners were,Daniel the bartender was there and pointed a knife at me and told me to get out,I called the police,he lied to the police and said he never pointed a knife at me,as did some customers who I guess were his friends or favorites. These guys are lucky I'm not someone who is evil or a bad person, cause if I was anyone else I'd wait for them outside and tell my people to come get them or cause harm to them or their horrible establishment, but I wouldn't ever do that because I'm not that type of person. But Metropolitan gay bar,is this who you are and what you represent? This is your staff? Your staff is a reflection of who you are,is this who you are?

If I had no sense of smell, this would probably be a 4-star review. Nice bartenders, reasonable beer prices, decent selection, laid back vibe...all positives in my book. But the smell, my heavens the smell. Imagine this: A flock of vultures is sitting on a mountain of dead sea cows that have been in 90 degree heat for a week and on top of that is a truck load of garlic, and this is sitting under a stand of gingko trees (in full bloom), surrounded by blooming Amorphophallus Titanum plants and someone has thrown 400 rotten durian fruits on top of the sea cows and this is all sitting downwind from a pig farm. This is what I compare the singular scent in this establishment to. Walking in I could barely control my gag reflex; it makes the dive bars I hung out in college smell like a lavendar-scented grandmother. If you can get past the smell, I say go for it.

It's a vibrant bar with great drag performances on Saturdays and reasonably priced drinks! Music could be better though.

If you've been to Rise in Manhattan, this is basically the Brooklyn version--but with a few key differences: they start charging a $10 cover after 10pm on weekends, the music leans more disco, and the bathroom situation is...rough. There are only two toilets, so the line gets long fast and people start getting a little tense. That said, ANIMAL still hits. It brings a classy, slightly retro vibe to Williamsburg that you don't really get anywhere else, and there's a reason the line is always wrapped around the block.

A friend of ours was trying to throw out an empty can while we were heading in (instead of leaving it on the street) and they berated her for even holding it at the door. When she went to throw it away (at the only trash can that's just past the bouncers) they screamed at her and told her she wasn't allowed in anymore. They then continued to talk down on her even when we were "lucky they were being nice" as she tried to contact the rest of the group that was already in for help. Whether it was intentional or not, it felt like they were stereotyping her. Basically, if you're a white guy, you'll have a great time!

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.
