Stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious; understandable combinations with a Peruvian twist and some creative touches, e.g., a refreshing non-alcoholic drink alongside the special of the day. The staff was accommodating and flexible, decor was pleasing (not kitschy), and service was quick. Looking forward to a return visit to explore more menu items. read more

The toast and the purple horchata were amazing! Great service and authentic cuisine!!!

Popped in for a group lunch and the food was unbelievably delicious. Even bought a loaf of sourdough for my leftover Sopa Criolla. I ended up eating half of it at my desk while I polished off the soup. Everyone I was with thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Highly recommend! read more

Hidden gem, try this place! My husband had the quesadilla with red and green mole sauces over refried beans. I had the tiradito, a perfect traditional tuna dish served in a tangy lime-yellow pepper sauce, with a lingering heat. We were too full for dessert or purple horchata but they looked great and we will be back! The food was so delicious and like nothing we'd tasted before. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I look forward to coming again soon! read more

Amazing food with a creative blend of Mexican and Peruvian traditions! The owners are incredibly hospitable and very involved in the kitchen and dining room. They recently added a little waiting area and are making improvements week by week. It's a great place for some unique cuisine on the west side! read more

We visited for dinner this evening. We were informed we came in just in time for happy hour. I encourage you to try their Sangria! It was juicy and delightful. They had a chicken stew on special that seemed too good to pass up. Boy was I right to order it!! I ate the whole thing!! It's served with rice and a gorgeous slice of sourdough bread. It also had like 4 chicken thighs in it... it was definitely a dinner!! I dipped my bread in the broth, which was savory and comforting. The chunks of carrots, potatoes, and peas were perfection! They also sell loaves of their bread to take home. My partner got their spaghetti dish (I'm sorry I don't remember the names!), which had a nice kick to it! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon! read more

Owners are super friendly, everything is freshly made and delicious, tried the Tiradito, purple horchata, torta, enchiladas, campechano tacos and the bread ala mode dessert. Amazing place! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while.....and it did not disappoint. My wife, daughter and I shared two starters - meatballs and a chorizo and bean focaccia - meatballs were amazing with an even better sauce. Daughters had tamales verde, wife had a carnita dish with a smoked bean sauce and I had the mole enchiladas. A lot of food and it was all so good, probably the best mole I have had. Highly recommend the rose sangira. The staff was amazing, don't be embarrassed if you don't understand the dish, the waitress was happy to answer our many questions and with a great vibe and always smiling. We will definitely go back - btw, they bake their own sourdough and focaccia as well. And try the salsa matcha if you like some heat. I can't say enough about the food and the experience. And we had loads of leftovers to take home. read more

Food was fantastic. Missing out if you don't try this place. Great food and drink specials. Family owned and operated.

Great place! Awesome staff and fantastic food. I'm glad new food/menu is coming to town. I understand it's a new place, but I'd like to see the ambiance/decorations get a bit nicer, along with some better tables and chairs. I understand that takes money, so I'll do my part and keep visiting them for the fantastic food and service!! read more

A truly fantastic dining experience with wonderful service, and even better food. Everything is made from scratch, they even nixtamalize corn for their tamales. The mole was exceptional, as was the horchata. The owner was a joy to talk to who went out of her way to ensure a great time. I really hope you decide to give this place a try. read more

Stopped in for dinner and was unexpectedly blown away! We each had a different menu item and each was unique and amazing! From the tamales to the Enfrijoladas, everything was bursting with fresh flavor. The service was the best we have had ever. The Peruvian-Mexican fusion was unexpected, but it's a perfect pairing. I would definitely recommend and I hope this restaurant stays around for a very long time! Well done! read more

The food is amazing. Similar to Mexican, but with a Peruvian twist. Very tasty. The family who runs it is so nice and helpful. Worth a stop and great choice if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels. read more

This is not good food. It's incredible food. Original, unique, fusion. My partner and I have only been once but we will be back to try every item on this menu. It's fantastic. The drinks were phenomenal and the food was as well. This is clearly an inspired and well-applied concept. The sides and garnishes for each dish were in-house made and tasted incredible. I've never had proper aji Amarillo or salsa matcha before and this experience has made me want to steal their recipes. The burrito was very unique and interesting flavors with its Peruvian fusion Lomo saltado sauce. The tamales were faithful and classic, perfectly executed. Sangria was fabulous, both varieties. The service was very friendly, perfectly paced, and helpful. Perhaps the interior could use a bit of work, but if you pass on this place on those grounds, you would be a fool. read more

the restaurant service was excellent. we were given one of the best food experiences combined with a background of the evolution of the food culture in Peru. the sourdough bread was fresh and the pear pound cake melted in your mouth topped by a refreshing scoop of ice cream. Our server Luz was so kind and everything we ate was amazing. Sangria and purple horchata were also excellent!

100% recommend!! Great food and lovely people. Rare to see such care I will definitely be back.

Wonderful food, friendly owners. We tried this after seeing a video. Delicious meals for both of us. We will be back.

Had an amazing meal at Macizo. The Peruvian/Mexican influenced dishes were delicious and packed with flavor. They even make their own breads. We started with the Tiradito (tuna with a leche de Tigre sauce). This dish was a home run with power lime flavors and the crunch of the toasted corn. Then we shared the Molletes and the Pasta Huancaina. Each dish was very different from the other, but I recommend them all. Service was friendly and helpful. They even gave us one of the sauces to take home. Highly recommend this newly opened restaurant. The atmosphere is nothing fancy. But the food is exceptional and packed with flavor. read more

Discovering Macizo demonstrates why I read restaurant reviews. Since It's a bit out of my territory, I wouldn't have discovered it except for Yelp. A friend and I ate lunch their last week and were well and truly pleased. The restaurant is plain but spotless--the owners put all their creativity into the wonderful food. My friend had the enchilades verdes and I pasta huancaina. Both dishes were exquisitely plated; their flavors were subtle and complex. But my slice of sour dough bread (to sop up that delicious sauce) were the surprising star of the show. I bake good bread myself but Macizo's is a quantum leap beyond. Our attentive server--the proprietor--was a delight as well, bubbling with friendliness. We shall return! read more

We happened to be in town for a soccer tournament and found this gem. Small, family owned restaurant that cooks from scratch in house. The Peruvian dishes were simply amazing. The umami flavors to the burrito and ribeye steak in the tacos were just amazing. Don't forget the dessert either, their ala mode pound cake with pistachios is worth the extra calories. We will not miss stopping by again when visiting Indianapolis! read more

Wow! What a fun surprise when our niece and her husband told us we had to try this place. First of all, the place is super cute inside and the service was amazing. Luz was our server - super helpful and courteous. We also appreciated the chef coming to check on how we liked our meals. And the meals - wow - so fresh and flavorful! My hubs got the special - some yummy smothered taco delight. I had the carnitas "torta". It was served on just the most delicious foccocia. Loved the change of pace vs traditional torta bread. And the bean salad was so bright and addictive. Will definitely be back! read more

I never review, but this restaurant deserved it. We stopped in after searching for a restaurant doing happy hour --a reviewer recommend their sangria happy hour (3-6pm on weekdays?)-- and were not at all disappointed. Sangria was made with fresh squeezed juices we were told and was really tart and well balanced. So good! Ordered chicken mole enchiladas and mole verde tamales to-go, both of which we loved. Salsa macha is spicy and smoky and pickled red onions and moles were both delicious. Very friendly/kind owners and staff also. We need more great restaurants like this to stay in business. We'll be back!! read more
