Good amount of seating inside and small tables outside but not a lot of parking spaces for the shop area. I ordered a Macchi Matcha with whole milk. $6.99 (no sales tax for to-go). I watched the lady behind the counter pour 90% milk, mix in 2 spoonfuls of pre-batched matcha from a plastic jug, and top it off with more milk. It tasted like straight milk and if anything, was the most watered-down tasting matcha. The taste of the powder itself was very prominent. Did not finish the drink. It's nice to see a matcha and sando place open up in the East Bay. Sadly , I was disappointed in the outcome of the sando and matcha I ordered . I had ordered the strawberry sando, bacon potato egg sando and matcha . The matcha taste had a potent green color , slight umami flavor and a bit bitter, in which matcha should be. But, It was very gritty and not a silky texture I would like it would be. I had not added any sugar bc I wanted to taste the matcha . It is advertised as matcha from Japan . I kept sipping and stirring the tea to see if it just needing to be whisk around more . The gritty texture was still there . Honestly, It was not the best quality compared to other matcha tea places I've been to. The most disappointing is the Sando. The sando is made in front of you. The strawberry Sando cream was not creamy , fluffy and taste artificial. The strawberries were tart and not sweet. The bacon potatoes egg salad was made with bacon bits . Bacon bits as in the artificial bacon in the salad . Ironically , My sister said the potato salad they used was from Costco . Sure enough it was . You see the potato container while they are making it . Overall, the bread was not fluffy , sweet and soft unlike the other milk breads I tried . Im not sure if it was milk bread . But, It tasted like a sandwich bread. The bread was from Anderson bakery . You can see the bread packaging while they make it . I really wanted to love this place . The place is very esthetically appealing and the employees were very nice and friendly . It is the soft opening . I really do hope they make their sandos better . I wanted the bread to be like a sando sandwhich - soft , sweet and fluffy. The bread and cream is what make a sando . The potato salad should be homemade especially the bacon. Especially with the price you pay. $9.49 for half of the strawberry and half of the potato sando. There is a soft opening special for the whole strawberry sando , $8.99 . Regular $12.99. It is a wonderful concept to have in the East Bay especially in the Pleasonton Area . There is no other concept in the area . Some people do have the financial advantage to buy the sando and matcha . This place has the best matcha in the tri-valley and maybe even the Bay Area. I've tried lots of matcha places all the way to Japan and the quality of the matcha here is top notch. My wife loves the regular matcha latte, and I absolutely love the honeydew. Food is also great, the beef stew and rice is delicious. Gonna keep coming back to try more of their items such as sandwiches and other snacks. The service is also great and the people here are awesome. Met the owner once and she's very passionate and knowledgeable about how matcha is processed and you can just tell that she loves what she's doing and will only provide the best. This place just opened up recently and I've been excited to try it for a while--i saw it was open while at work today and had to stop by. At the time of writing this, they don't have a menu posted in the store, but it is available on their Snackpass page. I got a strawberry matcha latte (50% sweet) and half a sweet sando. The matcha is smooth and rich with an excellent color--and it's generous with the strawberry topping, which has pieces of strawberry, not just syrup. I was also pleased to find that the sando had strawberry flavored cream in it, since I usually find these with plain or vanilla cream. My order was ready quickly and the barista was friendly. I also found the store very comfortable and relaxing to be in. I'll definitely be trying one of their coffee or milk tea options next time I'm in. read more

To start off: the drink was fine, I'm taking off two stars for their lack of safety considerations. On my way out, I twisted my ankle because the ground isn't level. I visited another business in the same plaza and they had a steel ramp installed to fix that problem as well as Watch Your Step signs on the glass door. Upon leaving the other establishment, I took a look at the middle business and while they didnt have the ramp, they did have the same Watch Your Step signs on their glass door. I sincerely hope this gets fixed either by building management/owners or that this business invests in signage before someone elderly breaks a hip. My shin and hip also started to ache at night. This place is BEAUTIFUL! I was immediately amazed by how cozy and cute this shop is. I got to meet the owner and she's very sweet and friendly. She made my sister and I laugh and we talked about how incredible her drinks are. I love matcha and matcha lattes! I was so excited when this place opened. I really try to support local instead of Starbucks. Well, it's really hard to support local when the quality and service is not great. I asked what the matcha is sweetened with and the lady answered "it's from a bottle" Huh? I ordered my drink from an ipad and wish I could have asked about what they use to sweeten since that wasn't on the ipad: Sugar packet? honey? ???She was on the phone. I was literally the only only one there- at 8am on Saturday when they opened! The shop is juvenile cute. It seems appealing to the high school crowd since it's close to Amador high and the decor is very inspirational teenage quotes everywhere. Kpop music videos playing. My 8$ drink was not good. She didn't seem to mind that I shared I was a new patron and really willing to figure out more. And, you can tell that the design, from the packaging, the menu, the service, and the food and drink, is all about quality. At different time, I have tried their pineapple Matcha, banana Matcha, strawberry sandos, Ube sandos, onigiri (rice roll), and tiramisu My experiences are: I enjoyed the banana Marcha drink with 25% sugar. It tasted light yet a boost in energy. It was joyful. The onigiri chicken rice roll was delicious. The portion wasn't big, but you could taste the freshness and nutrition. It was perfect for me as a light lunch snack after my workout. And I absolutely enjoyed the tiramisu ! It had right amount of sweetness. It satisfied my craving for sweets yet I wouldn't feel guilty if I had two of those. They were light and delicious. The Ube strawberry sandos are also light and delicious. I didn't mind it was overflowed with the creamy moose. It was like eating a juicy hamburger. I sunk my teeth into the sandos and enjoyed its generous portion! Before I wrote this review, I was pretty surprised to read some poor reviews giving three, two, or one starts ratings. How bad a store has to be to have a one star rating? I feel sorry for the owner. This store definitely does not deserve such low rating. Seriously, It is a small bakery business newly started and seemed to have qualify in mind. It is not a restaurant with a full blown lunch and dinner menu and provides waitering services. 70 degrees in Pleasanton and little to no AC inside. Good options for seating. Three screens that weren't being used. Front cash register area not being used either. Order at the two touch screens yourself. Service is slow - only 2 workers. Disorganized -- when order is done they will call the order # for some and first names for others. If you don't pick up your drink, you'd think they'd try again and call the name or order # again. Nope. So my drink was just sitting in the back, ice melting and diluting the taste. I rank the iced matcha latte a 6/10. Not much of a matcha taste - I think they were skimping on the matcha powder. Tasted like a matcha milk tea because of how milky and watery it was. I strolled into Macchi while on a morning walk with my young kids. We used to go to this location all the time for Flavor Brigade, and the first thing my older child said when we walked in was, "This looks a lot cooler than Flavor Brigade!" (but dang, I miss that place...). Indeed, the interior is well designed with a chic, modern look that's inviting, but not over the top or pretentious like those places that are just, "for the gram." For drinks we ordered a strawberry milkshake, white peach slush, and Thai ice tea, and for food we chose their strawberry and egg salad sandos, and a tiramisu. The staff member was very helpful, inviting, and executed perfectly. She had good awareness, asking me if I needed something to hold/carry all the items I ordered when she brought them to the counter, and if my kids would need anything to help them eat/drink their items. My kids and I were all happy with our drinks. I haven't had much luck with strawberry milkshakes lately, either having too watery of a texture, or tart of a flavor, but Macchi bucked that trend! The consistency was just right so that a young kid could drink it through a straw, but not too watery so that it was gross. The flavor was spot on for what we like too. We also enjoyed the white peach slush. It had a nice sweet and refreshing flavor that'd be a perfect treat when the weather warms up more. My kid enjoyed it so much that they worked on tapping the icy slush out of the cup the entire walk home to finish it. Lastly was my Thai tea. It was solid, but not really stand out. I think I'd prefer a bit more tea flavor. My kids ate their strawberry sandos at Macchi since they were hungry from the walk. Both of them enjoyed it, and the size of the strawberries inside was hearty. It was a nice treat. A lot of the times when you have a whipped cream sandwich it's really difficult to keep it together without the cream coming out all over, but these were wrapped well in plastic wrap, and my kids were able to eat them without making a huge mess! I think these sandos could be a bit better if it had a thicker more custard-like cream instead of a fluffy "cool whip-like" one. I waited till we finished our couple mile walk home to try the "egg salad" sando and tiramisu. The "egg salad" sando was really a potato salad sando, which I probably wouldn't have ordered if I knew that. It wasn't anything special and tasted like sweet potato salad from the grocery store. The tiramisu was nice. It's a bit on the sweeter side vs coffee flavored, but enjoyable. It's not standout like Primrose's is, but a nice treat sized bite. Overall we enjoyed Macchi and I think we'll be stopping by again on weekend walks to try more of their menu. read more
