Here is my story with M&N: I live in California and bought a classic car from Alaska that the previous owner transported to Everett last year. Before shipping it back to CA, I thought it would be good to get the major mechanical issues taken care of. However, my classic car is a rare 41 year old Lincoln Continental Mark VII Gianni Versace designer edition that is equipped with an even more rare BMW sourced turbo-diesel engine, so finding a suitable shop that could do it was no easy task. Fortunately, my searching lead me to M&N, an outstanding women owned and run business in Everett. Michelle was who I first spoke to and she was an absolute pleasure to work. They have a great electronic system that clearly details all the issues with the cars, with detailed price breakdowns, mechanic notes and photos, making it a breeze to understand what is needed and accept or decline each suggested repair. Sadly, Michelle had to resign because of personal family issues, then, Sarah took over, again providing excellent service and keeping me up to date via text and calls. Sarah continued the excellent service, providing regular updates on my car with it's very difficult to find parts. Robb was the mechanic that worked on my car and like Sarah and Michelle, he also provided excellent service, and got my car road worthy again. This company is the worst. We had a water pump replaced that broke 11 months later after 11 k miles. The owner said the warranty didnt cover because we didnt contact them before the repair which was false, because we called two different front desk girls who said we didnt even get the work done there! It wasnt until we requested for the itemized breakdown of their" repair" were they could see the work was done there. On top of that we were 2 hours away in Leavenworth on side of Hwy 2, trying to now find lodging,tow truck, and body shop that could even get us in. Their were 3 shops and only 2 could get us in, and due to festival in town we luckily found a hotel wit availability. Setting the record straight I have been a customer of M&N for over 5 years and have both recommended them to friends/colleagues and had several significant repairs completed there as well as routine oil changes on three different vehicles. My last Subaru service unfortunately did not mirror previous visits; in addition to an oil change I asked them to troubleshoot the reverse lights which were not functioning correctly and I figured it was the switch on the manual transmission. Keep in mind they have serviced this car for 5 years...on arrival the staff was different and at first blush thought they had new ownership. Their estimate for both jobs approximated $250 however after three days on the backup lights I received a bloated bill for $600 and additional suggestions for brakes, struts, shocks, control arms/ bushings and filters totaling 5K! Of course I declined the "extra" work found the oil change price of $107 excessive ($79 is advertised for 5 quarts) and also discovered a rate discrepancy on the current work. Ultimately I walked for $400 and told them I would not be returning. Beware of their bait-and-switch practices. You've been warned! read more

This business provided terrible customer service from the very beginning. My wife and I dropped off our 2016 Nissan Rogue yesterday at our appointment time of 8:30 AM and communicated that the car was having issues with the AC and heat not working, assuming there were issues with the blower motor. We were told that it wouldn't take long and that we should know later that day what the issue was, and were told that the amount charged for the evaluation and diagnosis would go toward the total cost of the repair. Because we had scheduled an appointment at 8:30, we were anticipating hearing from them in a handful of hours, but when we still hadn't heard from them by 4:30 (8 hours later) we called. We were told that they had just started looking at it when we called - meaning the car hadn't even gotten looked at since we dropped it off for the appointment we booked LAST WEEK! They did say they would give us the status by the end of the night or first thing in the morning, but we didn't get that courtesy. Again, they failed to keep their word as neither my wife or I heard anything until we called to see what was going on around 11am. The girl who answered (Jordan?) said that they would send a quote for what the repair would be in 10 minutes and the car would be put back together so we could pick it up as they didn't have the part to fix it in shop and that it was safe to drive as it was only the blower motor that was out. My wife called the office after getting the quote and realized that they would be keeping our car overnight again. Our prior commitments necessitated that we each have a car tomorrow and scheduled to bring it back Monday afternoon to have the part installed. Everything initially looked great, but they stated that because we were taking oru car from the shop and would have to set up another appointment, the amount we paid for them to look at the car wouldn't go towards the repair like they initially stated when we first dropped the car off. They didn't keep their word 3 times in a row: 1. When we scheduled and were approved for our appointment, we were given the impression that they would have the time to look at our car. Not eight hours later with no word until we called a half hour before close. 2. That they would give us an update by the end of the day or first thing in the morning. We had to call them! 3. They went back on their policy that the amount for that would go towards the parts and labor of the repair to fix the blow motor that is only an $80 part in the first place. We will not be bringing our business back to this sketchy establishment again and will not be recommending it to anyone. When you have an appointment set for a date and time the expectation is that you are attended to and the issue focused on at that time as promised. The lack of customer service, communication, and follow through on what was said that they would do worries me in regards to the quality of their workmanship with their past work. Honestly, from reading some of the other reviews on here I'm a bit worried that they could have damaged something from just inspecting and putting it back together and their inconsistency to follow through with what they promised 3 TIMES in less than 2 days. We took our car here to get a new transmission in July 2023. They charged us $4000. The transmission went out November 2023. They had the car for three weeks and then charged us another $600 to replace the transmission that they put in just months earlier. I do not recommend this place. read more

UPDATE BASED ON OWNERS REPLY: Still an awful auto shop. The average person drives 20,000 miles a year, so that's just this place being greedy money hungry people. It's unfortunate that it seems many people had a good experience here and I wish they would've treated me the same. They claim to have too quality parts and too quality work, well then why did my alternator go out after a little over a year? And it's pretty funny they say I need to bring it in, well how am I supposed to bring it in when the car won't start and when it's jumped, it only turns on enough for the battery light to come on, can't start it, the screen doesn't come on, the blinkers won't work, windows won't roll up, and the trunk won't open. The doors currently won't even lock! So how do you expect me to get it there? I'm not wasting money in a tow truck just for you guys to be cheap and not help me?? You should send someone to me since you guys are "such a great company"........ ORIGINAL: (I will get the exact details and price when I can find the papers from my grandmas house) So, in 2019, I bought a car from a dealership and 8 days later, it started shorting out and kind of caught on fire. My grandma had AAA and said she would pay to get it fixed if we towed it to her shop (M&N absolute auto repair) so I agreed. After they looked at my car, they said that my battery and alternator needed to be replaced. My grandma paid $1700 for that, which sucked because I only paid $3500 for the car. Well I definitely feel like that was a rip off but if she was paying for it, I figured I'd just not worry about it. Well now it's probably a year and a couple months later, and both my alternator and battery are completely toast, and i called to ask if they were under warranty, well they said it was covered by time but to figure out the mileage, well I was able to just barely get the car on enough to check the mileage, which I'm surprised even happened, well I called them and told them how many miles, (149,627) and the man said he would call me back. Well I got a call back and coincidentally, they said I had it replaced at 125,000 miles and that the warranty for the BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR is only good for 24,000.... Until I find the paper work, I'll believe them, but I think it's ridiculous that it's only 24,000, why not 25,000?? And why would the battery warranty be based on mileage too?? I want to believe them about the 24,000 miles, it just seems coincidental that I'm just 627 miles over it, and they want me to come in and waste more money having it looked at and worked on by them. Hard pass. He said the best they could offer, which he can't guarantee will happen because it never does, but possibly get a new battery for me pro-rated. Hard pass on that too. M&N went above and beyond helping me with my car. They were able to diagnose what was wrong with my engine for my car that I just recently bought from a dealer a few months ago. Amanda and Vicki were incredibly helpful with contacting the two warranty companies that were supposed to cover the engine damages. I don't know how I would've been able to handle this whole situation without them. They also did a wonderful job explaining everything from what was wrong with the engine and every little thing that went into the quote, to explaining the reasoning for the back and forth they had to go through when contacting the warranty companies. The people at M & N are super nice, and genuinely want to help people out. I called in a panic and the lady on the phone calmed me down with her friendly demeanor. She let me know they would take a look and give a free diagnosis! The other shop I called said it would cost $50 for them to just take a look! I took my wifes car in and they quickly let me know the issue and gave me a price. The price was actually lower than the other mechanics I called, so I was pleasantly surprised. I brought the car in the next day, sat at the Panera bread and worked (using their free wi-fi) for a few hours and when I walked back in my car was ready to go. They really made me feel like a neighbor from the beginning of my fiasco until the end. It looks like they give back to the community and they have cool promotions that I was able to take advantage of by picking out a 10% off Easter egg out of their Easter basket! All in all, the people at M& N are awesome, my wife's car is still running and I feel comfortable knowing I didn't get screwed over by another mechanic. I brought my truck in because my gas gauge wasn't reading properly after I had changed my fuel pump and also my front tire had locked up on me. Everything was great at first, they got me an appointment same day and even though I was an hour late (due to issues with locked tire) they were still really nice about it and it was no hassle to get in. Upon returning to get my truck, I now have a flat tire that I didn't have when I dropped the truck off and was told it was because the mechanic supposedly "found a nail" in my tire, which I find unlikely. Then I get into my truck to see that the gas gauge wasn't fixed at all and I was charged $239.36 to be told information I already knew prior to going into the shop. I am extremely disappointed and feel like I was taken advantage of and like I wasted hundreds of dollars. Unless they make it right, I wouldn't recommend this shop. read more

Had an oil problem with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (common problem with gaskets in the inline 6), called other shops and they said they were unable to get me in due to "lifts" and time needed. Just moved to WA and ALL the Jeep dealers close to me had some horrible reviews, which means they do not get my business!!!! Jessica and Gavin were more than willing to help since I used their night drop and they walk me through the diagnosis and called to give me regular updates. What makes them a great shop and a pleasure to do business with is the extra care they place in customer service. Everyone has to make money, but humble, customer based service is hard to find. Their 47-point inspection (free) is different from their diagnostic ($130) and I found that out the hard way. I went in saying I think my wheel bearing is shot. They confirmed this and I payed 130. It would have been ~400 on top of that for fixing it. I appreciate their business etiquette though I need way cheaper. $500 is half the price of my 88 Honda Civic itself. Great people and great reliability if you've got the extra dough to drop, which I'd suggest to anyone with a newer car. read more

10 Star Service - Repairs and Shuttle!! The owners Mike and Vicki are truly running an incredible business. They got me in the very next day when my Saab's engine started trembling so badly it shook the whole car. I dropped it off first thing in the morning and not only did Mike shuttle me home he came back an hour and a half later to shuttle me to work while they diagnosed and fixed my car! He even picked up my mom from my house to get the car when it was finished. We are only able to have one car at the moment and Mike and Vicki's shuttle service was an absolute god-send. They went above and beyond especially since the roads were still a bit icy from a previous snow storm. M&N went above and beyond! They did a great job replacing my clutch and had it completed when promised! Having had my fair share of mechanics making promises and not delivering. The ladies at the front desk kept me well informed on my cars progress and went out of their way to get me a clutch when they found out my parts were delayed because of weather conditions. They called in favors and got me a clutch and back in the road when promised. The mechanic and the receptionists even stayed 2 hours late to get it done. I thought I needed my front brakes to be replaced, according to the dealership who last serviced my car. I took my car to M&N Absolute and turns out, the front brakes pads had another 6 months of life time on them. They took pictures as proof. They were able to schedule me in last minute within the hour of me calling to fix other services (transmission fluids, replacing rotors). This place is SUPERB! I came across it by accident as I was looking for a foreign auto repair place and couldn't find it... The place looked closed and was way in the back of some other buildings behind and over a bit from Micky D's (well worth the hunt!). I only went in to ask for directions to the place I was looking for and told them my problem - cd/radio & clock not working after I had had new fuses put in... I asked them what they would charge and the service manager Greg Eggling came on out to take a look... he said it was probably just a fuse but would have the OWNER Mike Doherty take a quick look at it - Mike asked me if the lighter/charger outlet was working but since I never use it I popped the cap off and sure enough there was a bunch of metal pieces (I am sure my niece who smokes did it when she was waiting for me at the chiropractors on Monday)... As soon as Mike saw that he said it probably just re-blew out the new fuses so after he got all the little pieces out (actually that was greg) he re-installed a new fuse and voila! it was totally fixed! Mike also replaced the stupid Toyota fuse cover and they didn't even charge me! I was expecting to pay at least $50 but am a low income senior and can't thank them enough for coming to the rescue at NO CHARGE!!!
