With a large seating area both on the outside and inside, this is a clean and comfortable coffee shop available to those who want to unwind or grab a coffee during the day. The cashier and staff members were kind and patient when we ordered many drinks and pastries. All of the drinks we ordered (iced matcha einspanner, iced hazelnut latte, hot vanilla latte) were flavorful and a perfect way to start our morning! I did not order any egg tarts but tried the rest of their other desserts items. I think because they leave their pastries in the refrigerated display case with the cold air circulating it dries out the outside of their items. Sleeping Bear -the mango passionfruit filling wasn't the entire bear but a small half dome stuffed inside the bear's head only. Rest of bear is just cream mousse, brown parts of the panda bear are chocolate flavored. Earl Grey Tea Swiss Roll -really good but the outer layer was quite dried out unfortunately. If they stored it differently it would be so much better. Tea flavor was perfect and not too sweet. Pistachio and Ricotta Cake -also had the same issue the top layer of cake was extremely dried out. This new cafe is right across the street from the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. I stopped by to grab a drink and to get some work done. There's plenty of parking in the back, and lots of seating inside and in the little patio area outside of the shop. They have caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks, as well as baked goods like Portuguese egg tarts and cake slices. I was debating between the Milo latte and injeolmi latte, and asked the man at the register for his recommendation. He couldn't decide either, so he asked two other staff members and they gave me the different pros of each drink. Finally, one of them said she preferred the Milo, so I got that! The staff are super friendly and I want to say this is a Cantonese-owned established since they were speaking in Canto later. They even brought my drink to me at the table, and offered me the wifi password. The drink itself was malty and not too sweet, the classic Milo taste. Importantly, it was not chalky even though it was an iced drink. They have a huge outside patio area for dining and a cute half van type deal for photo ops. Very big space and great place to hang out. There's some tables and seats inside too. Service was friendly and welcoming and they offered to adjust our drinks if there was anything off about it. They have a good number of coffees, matcha lattes, and other drinks of the sort, as well as desserts including cakes, egg tarts, and those cute bear desserts where you have to sacrifice a bit of your humanity to dig into. Some of the drinks and dessert items were part of a seasonal menu and they have a point system too, which is nice. I got their Milocano which is a sweet yummy chocolate malt milk mix. Simple and easy. Brother enjoyed his dalgona coffee. I love their cute little mug mascot. During my first visit I ordered an iced Spanish latte. I really appreciate the outdoor space. My puppy was able to play and walk around the patio area. I came back another day and ordered two iced Vietnamese coffee to go. I like the flavor. Not too bitter or too sweet. It's perfect. I have yet to try their baked goods. 4 stars Mūmoo is the new business that took over this location since Patisserie Too moved. The interior and patio seating is very much the same with some added furniture. They still sell the $1 egg tarts here, which makes me wonder if it's still Patisserie, but a different branch of the business. I regret not asking more questions, but they were pretty busy when I was there. Anyways, I ordered the einspanner matcha ($6.50). I thought it tasted fine. I don't think it really stands out when there are so many matcha places around the area. However, I will say that this little shop is super dog-friendly, so that is always a positive in my book. I like what this location has become. I've been a few times with my kids so far and recommend checking it out. There Portuguese egg tarts are quite good and we're priced under a dollar at one point but maybe that was just a grand opening special. Now they are just over a dollar each. Picture Patisserie Too with a broader menu! This cafe is adorable and there are now tables that you can sit and work at. The vibes are very pleasant in here and the staff is super friendly! The strawberry matcha is nice and creamy and comes with a strawberry puree and cream top for $7. The popcorn chicken is okay, I don't recall them asking the spice level and I wish it was spicy. It was bold, sweet, and had a strong coffee flavor without tasting watered down. For desserts, the cakes reminded me of a mix between Patisserie Too and Grace and Wheat, which makes sense since they're all around the same area. The flavors were solid across the board and not overly heavy. The highlight for me was actually the mango sago dessert. It wasn't too sweet and reminded me of the mango pudding with evaporated milk you get at dim sum restaurants. Super refreshing and a nice balance after the coffee. We decided to stop by after passing this café a few times, and I'm glad we finally gave it a try. The café itself is spacious, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a nice place to relax or catch up with friends. We also tried the egg tart and cheese tart, which were the highlights. They were fresh, flavorful, and something I'd order again. Unfortunately, the chocolate cake and tiramisu cake were a huge disappointment. They were sitting in a regular display case instead of a refrigerated one, and both cakes were warm. After taking one bite, we immediately stopped eating them because the texture and taste felt off. Cakes like tiramisu are supposed to be kept refrigerated, so it was concerning to see them stored at room temperature. It honestly made us question whether they were being stored safely. The baristas were nice and friendly, which we appreciated. Overall, I liked the atmosphere, the drinks, the tarts, and the friendly service. Mumoo is a new dessert cafe in San Gabriel with a spacious interior and patio. They actually took over the Patisserie Too location across from Blossom Market Hall, and it looks like they carry some of the same desserts. After perusing the menu and dessert display, I ordered an Injeolmi latte with oatmilk ($7), earl grey Swiss roll ($3.25), cheese tart ($1.75), and a Portuguese egg tart ($1). The total came out to $14.37, which is pretty reasonable compared to other bakeries and cafes. The Swiss cake roll was light and fluffy and the tarts were tasty with their rich and silky custard fillings. The injeolmi latte captured the signature nutty and subtly sweet flavor the Korean drink is known for. Made with roasted soybean powder, it tastes similar to a roasted chestnut latte or toasty multigrain latte. Came here with some friends to get some work done at the cafe. There was street parking right out front, which made it convenient. They offer a good variety of items on the menu. I ended up getting the egg tart, and it tasted just as good as many other places I've been to. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other items. The cafe also has free Wi-Fi and outlets to charge your devices. The outlet I noticed was on the wall facing toward the front, so that's helpful if you're planning to bring a laptop or get some work done. The Cloudy Puff Cake was delicious, the cheese filling paired perfectly with the light, fluffy cake, and it wasn't overly sweet. My friend brought me a drink and some egg tarts from here the other day, and both tasted pretty good! The drink was the Kiwi Sparkling Soda. It tasted almost like an Airheads candy in drink form. Although the flavor was strong, it was a little bit too sweet, so I would recommend getting less sugar if you do get it. I also think you need to really mix the drink for each sip because the drink slowly got more bitter as I finished more of it. This is because the rinds from the lime slices floating at the top made the top of the cup more bitter than the bottom. That being said, there was a moment in the middle where the bitterness met the sweetness that made for an interesting flavor that I really enjoyed! The egg tarts were smooth and structurally sound. These Portuguese Egg Tarts are so good! If you are a fan of Portuguese Egg tarts...you won't be disappointed! The crust is buttery and flaky. The custard is light and creamy with just the perfect amount of sweetness. I had planned on buying 2 to try...but hubby ordered 6. So glad we did! So glad my friend suggested MUMOO Bakery for the Portuguese Egg Tarts. We use to head up to San Francisco to get our custard tart fix. (The regular type). Unfortunately, the bakery is no more. My wife and I got three different slices of cake here. These cakes tasted awful and were extremely dry, as if they were a couple days old. I saw the matcha mille crepe cake and thought it looked good so I ordered it and they picked the one way in the back that looked the worst instead of the good looking ones near the front of the display. Fishy practice. The to-go containers are also too small for the crepe cake slices and caused them to tilt and spill, although the regular rainbow cake stood upright. Very disappointing. Lots of much better excellent bakeries around the SGV! I want to support them but when it's this bad it's impossible. read more

Overall, selection was nice and drink options were good. I've had better matcha but this isn't horrible - it could've been a stronger matcha. The girl who took my order and made my matcha was super sweet. My complaint was about what seemed like the manager/owner of the place. While I was waiting for my drink, the owner or manager was having a business like convo (talking numbers) in front of the pickup area - they had their laptops out and was completely taking over that area. In my opinion, if you're going to have conversations like that you should have it out of eye sight from your customers - it's distracting and honestly unprofessional at a place where you're expecting customers to enjoy their drink, work or hang around. In addition to that, the owner (or manager) family (what I assume is family) was standing at the corner of the store staring at this business convo and then after the convo was done, they were all talking and then one of them proceeded to stare at me. It was overall a very poor first impression of a brand new coffee shop that has alot of potential. They have a breakfast combo of a ham & cheese croissant and latte for about 10 dollars which is very affordable. I ended up getting it with their $1 egg tart so my total ended up being $12 after tax. They have an enclosed patio with a lot of empty tables and chairs. They also have a self serve water station! I personally enjoy more savory pastries and the chairs could be more comfortable. Came here for the first time, we got egg tarts, matcha einspanner and hot americano. The egg tarts were good, but unfortunately the drinks weren't to my expectations. It's not pictured, but the matcha einspanner was really clumpy at the bottom. I like to sip my matcha einspanner with a straw, to occasionally mix my drink. But when I took my first sips, they had big clumps of matcha. Usually matcha clumps don't bother me, but there was a lot and it was bigger clumps. I saw that they batch made the matcha in advance so I'm not sure why the matcha was clumpy, esp bc the made it beforehand :(. I definitely didn't come here expecting them to hand whisk their matcha to every order but the clumps definitely impacted the taste. The hot americano wasn't hot either, I saw that they were finished with the hot americano first so they put out the hot americano on the counter while they were making the matcha einspanner. So it was out on the counter for a while before our entire order was ready. The staff were friendly and they were busy. You could tell it was hectic on their end, they were running around trying to serve everyone. I'm not sure if it's bc they recently opened, but you could definitely tell they were working things out.
