Fairly certain everyone in the salon was offered a beverage but myself, which is actually okay because I would've declined, but fair to mention. They had no record of my appointment even though I called hours earlier in the day. My major issue was that the man who did my pedicure REEKED of cigarettes . So gross and certainly doesn't give off a vibe of cleanliness, when it stinks like Marlboro reds the whole time. He barely touched my cuticles. His massage (if we can call it that) was the same motion with no pressure over and over again. No attention to detail (maybe my standards are higher than this particular salon?). I would imagine if I had a more attentive tech, I would've been more satisfied as it wasn't a horrible experience just exceptionally mediocre and undwhelming. I was in and out of there pretty quickly which was the only plus. But I had paint smudges on my skin and wet toes because their dryers didn't blow out any air. I've been a customer about a half dozen times so far and now feel confident to write a good review. They always do a perfect job for traditional manicure/perdicures and I always feel like I get my money's worth. The salon is tidy. They are friendly, nice, clean and I never have had any issues. I am always comfortable, the chairs are clean and the massage functions work! They also have a great selection of polish. Disclaimer: I personally don't believe in making appointments for nail salons as 1.) NEVER at any salon I've ever been to, are you taken on time. 2.) I get really annoyed at those who make appointments and make such a fuss when I am trying to relax. 3.) If you come in with your appointment-entourage and I've been happily waiting for a few minutes and now I am left to leave due to an appointment (or ten), I'm not happy either. I'm writing this after my second trip to this nail salon for a pedicure. The first time I went it was great. Yesterday I went back, again for a pedicure and it was awful. He was extremely rough on my feet. Digging in with the clippers and trimming much more skin than necessary on top of my toes. When he used the block to smooth away dry skin he rubbed so hard on soft skin areas of my feet that I now have cuts on my feet and a large painful area on the top of my big toe where he removed too much skin. He ignored me just about every time I flinched but once in a while said "oh sorry". My nails have never looked worse. He did a horrible paint job. Never going back. This is the first time I've ever left a negative review because that is how strongly I feel about this. My feet hurt because of this man. read more

The redo was just as bad so I asked for my money back. Reluctantly they agreed but not before begging me to try someone else. Perhaps some of the reviewers mixed this nail salon with another place. Two of us went on a busy Friday afternoon and were seated right away. There were sufficient employees on hand to take care of all twelve spa chairs and ten manicure tables. They serve free wine, soft drinks, or water, a service I'd not seen since California in the 80s. The prices are a bit higher than I pay in California, but the atmosphere is quiet with gentle music and muted TVs with subtitles. The spa mani-pedi included more steps than I'm accustomed to. I took my little sister here the other day to get her nails done before school starts, they got us in quickly and they did a good job on my nails and toes. My sister on the other hand, her nail tech was a total jerk. She showed him a picture of what she wanted on her nails and he was irritated and said, "we don't do that." They finally decided on something they can do and she was happy with the color. He was very rude the entire time and got snippy with my sister. I asked if he was having a bad day and he just said no. S n S Fail! I just wanted a black and white manicure for Halloween, which I thought would be simple. Nope! 2 hours later I walked out with glue all over my hands, my nails glued to my finger tips and just the most horrible manicure I have ever seen. And they actually had me pay for it! I just started going to this place, I've gone twice so far. Tom is amazing. He listens to what you want, he's gentle, and he's a perfectionist. I've left every time super happy, relaxed, and refreshed. I normally get acrylic with gel polish on top. He hasn't cut me once when filing, and every nail is perfectly shaped and even. Also, they have so many gel colors to choose from. I got a pedicure from another girl the first time I visited, and it was really relaxing. She didn't rush through any step, she massaged me for longer than I paid for if anything. I'm really happy that I finally found a good nail place! read more

I hate to omit that I have been to this nail salon several times just out of conveniences but after my last experience I will not go back. Everytime I have been there all the workers talk among themselves the entire time. I find it rude and unnecessary. My daughter wanted her nails done in a style called Ombre. The lady was so rude to here in the beginning I was about to ask my daughter right then and there if she wanted to go somewhere else. But my daughter seemed fine at the time ( later she told me she was about to tell the women where to go). When we were done the nail person started asking questions about her purse who paid for it and made comments that lead me to believe she thought my daughter was entitled. I am someone who typically gets a mani and pedi every 2 weeks. I usually come here and have had a mixed bag of experiences from poor to great. The last few times, okay 6-7 times, I have come in I have felt weird here. There is a girl who works here and dresses like she is "for hire". Tonight, when I came in I was very uncomfortable watching her with her male customer. I could not help but notice as they were directly across from me. She definitely gives this place a "brothel vibe". Not trying to be rude, but I have also seen her wear some pretty questionable attire to "work". I can tell her Co-workers feel awkward, too. I have also noticed an increase in male customers (which is probably good for business, but makes me wonder where she picks them up). Don't want to be rude, but think this was the last straw tonight. I dragged my boyfriend in for his first ever pedicure and ordered him the Deluxe package. I honestly think his service was great! She offered us both water, and took her time rubbing his feet (he is baseball player, so he really needed some knots rolled out). On the other side of this, I ordered the regular pedicure. I would give my service a 5 out of 10. Yes, he did all the necessary steps but he spent about 2 minutes on each foot. My feet feel less soft now, the paint job, well I think I could have done better... he just left and said thank you at the end and made me put on my own sandals... did not offer to help, so I struggled to get them on worried I would ruin the polish. $87 later, I am not happy. I went with my daughter on Saturday to get a pedicure and SNS manicure. The pedicure was wonderful. The manicure was/is terrible. The gentleman who did my nails made them so thin, they are breaking and chipping. He cut me and said it was my dry cuticle. He kept maki g me adjust my arms and was rude about it. They say consistency is one of the keys to success. We expect the same great service whenever we patronize a business. That's why we return. I come to this salon because it is close to me, and it is visually Luxurious...really. They relocated and definitely stepped up the luxury look, but definitely NOT the service. I have been here several times. Sometimes the service is good, other times not so much. Today, when I walked in, there seemed to be some mayhem among the staff---some disagreement and bickering going on right in the middle of the floor. All staff seemed preoccupied. I was seated rather quickly but there was still a ruckus ensuing. Patrons were just kind of looking at each other wondering what was going on. The person serving me was nice enough and slightly apologetic, but my pedicure was kind of abrupt and mediocre. While sitting there I began to reflect on a few things since coming to this salon: * I noticed they served wine or champagne to "select" clients. Not everyone. I guess I have to get a mani, pedi & tips to qualify? Or maybe be a blonde? * One day the owner greeted me after I caught her looking at my purse (which I think she thought was a Chanel bag) and immediately began to up sell me services. When I said I wanted a regular pedicure, the sweetness wore off. * The staff is preoccupied, and not very attentive, thinking they can make up for all sins when they are massaging your legs. Nah son, that doesn't work all the time. * When the pedicure was over, as someone else mentioned, you're on your own. It's a new location, not sure where to dry my toes! Would they escort the lady who just spent $125 there, carrying her bags & pulling out the seat for her??? But me, basic pedicure lady that comes in on a regular basis-just go find it. Then the guy offered me quick dry spray, which he never brought over. * After drying, I went up to pay-even though I really felt like just walking out. ( I would never do that though-but in my mind I went there!) No eye contact or acknowledgement from the dude at the front who was very busy taking pictures of checks to deposit!!! He summoned the person who did my nails. I paid, and wrote on my receipt "Will probably NOT be coming back." There are so many other choices and places to do business with. I just wanted my 30 minute pampering, but instead this was my experience. I hope they read this and improve customer service. read more

My mom and I have been going to Luxury Nails since we moved here four years ago, and we loved it. We hadn't been there since they moved locations until today. We walked in and were told to pick a color and we sat down for our pedicure. The lady who was doing my mom's pedicure was awful. She had snapped at my mom, and walked away and was gone for a bit. When she came back she was trying to act sweet to upsell to a deluxe pedicure, in which my mom turned down. Then the lady proceeded to get on her phone to FaceTime with her boyfriend in the middle of the service! After she got done on the phone and was doing the service she was so rough! As for the lady who did my pedicure, she was sweet enough, but she skipped through a step or two in the service, and when she finished painting my nails, she didn't put my sandals on nor did she say anything. She just walked away and left me there. I sat there for a good five minutes until I just reached down and grabbed my sandals and another nail tech saw me, and helped me. After my mom checked out, the lady who had done my mom's pedicure went up to the front desk while we were still there to see how much she left her for a tip. Needless to say, we won't be back. We'll spend more money to get better quality service. read more

You get less than what you pay for (less massage time, quicker visit- almost like you are rushed, loud and less of a "spa" atmosphere, crowded). I understand that the customer base has increased, but during my last appointment the staff seemed more stressed and less focused on the customer. I get my nails done here often only because of location. I've been there many times but only been happy about my nails once or twice. Every time I go I get acrylic nails with regular polish and the acrylic always breaks off easily after just a few days when they should be lasting at least two weeks. The polish job usually isn't too good either. Not to mention the nails are way too expensive to be breaking so fast. I paid $45 dollars for acrylic nails with regular polish and after two days one of the nails popped off without me even hitting it on anything. Making a pregnant woman cry. not ok. This was my second time at Luxury Nails. My friend who is 19 weeks pregnant and lives in the area, goes all the time. This past saturday night, we went to get pedicures when it wasn't busy. We arrived at 7:30pm. After picking polish and sitting down, my friends nail tech was on her phone while giving her the pedicure and didn't even ask what kind of pedicure she wanted. Then, after dipping her feet in paraffin wax, she left her sitting in the chair for over 20 min while she went to do someone else's pedicure. Another tech came over to finish the pedicure. by this point, My pedicure was finished and my friend was still covered in wax. It was 8:45. This was supposed to be a 45 min treatment. My friend needed to get home to her family so she said, "Im sorry, this has taken too long and I have to leave without polish." As we went to leave and pay, my friend said she would not pay full price for the pedicure because they took too long and didn't finish. She offered to pay $30 of the $45 pedicure since they didn't finish it to her satisfaction... Then all hell broke loose... The nail tech started YELLING at her, saying she had to pay and she wasn't doing anything for free. My friend and I looked at each other in shock and awe of how this nail tech was behaving. We calmly explained to her that she wasn't happy with the service and the time it took and that the woman needed to make it right. At this point, the woman was screaming at us and not listening to reason at all. The nail tech went over and locked the door and said, "you're not leaving here until I get my money!" My friend told her she was pregnant and started cry and was VERY upset. At that point, the nail tech said, "I don't care if you're pregnant or not! you can have your baby on the floor in here and I don't care! you aren't leaving till I have my money!" She screamed at us and said we were trying to get stuff for free and that we didn't even work. That she had been working for 10 years and didn't care who we told or if we complained. That ALL the Lakeway women try to get stuff for free from her. It was terrible. My friend and I both work full time jobs and I work for the City of Austin. She was just mad and saying anything she could to be rude to us. At that point, I stepped in and asked the woman to calm down again. I really tried to keep my cool so I wouldn't upset anyone else further. I said that she needed to make this right and quit getting worked up. We should have called the police at that point but my friend was so upset, she just paid the full price and we left. It wasn't worth it to get her so upset that it stressed the baby further. It was BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon or ANY business for that matter. I hope that woman gets fired. read more

I had to give it a 1 rating- this place deserves a 0 rating in my personal opinion due to our experiences last Wednesday evening. We will not be going back. My niece and I had appointments. The gentleman giving my niece her pedicure was giving her a very good pedicure. The gentleman that was giving me my pedicure was not taking as much time. We were also getting manicures. Other customers were getting the manicures in the pedicure chairs. The gentleman started to put the flip flops on me so I could walk to the manicure table. I explained I needed to put my manicure sandals on to walk it. I have had foot issues, the flip flops are slippery and it is not safe for me to walk in those. He persisted that I must put those on. I explained again. I finally had to raise my voice and say NO- I am not walking in those. It is cheaper for me to pay for you to put more polish on my toes than for me to have to go to a hospital if I were to fall in those flip flops. From that second on, it was obvious I had become the customer from hell and they wanted both of us out of there as soon as possible. We had also up graded to the better pedicure and manicure- did not get that but was charged. We were extremely disappointed with the inability to communicate as well as the lack of understanding of the safety issue which I was speaking of. The manicure that my Niece received after this was uneven, they did not do the American tips and she felt she had wasted her $90.00 yet knew it would do absolutely no good to complain, she had mentioned to him that they were not even and he replied "they are even underneath" I paid $75,00 and I have had better ones at other places for $45.00 for both. And saving the best till last: My niece is very aware of cleanness, she did not see anyone clean the pedicure foot soaker after I got out and before the other customer was put into the chair. It has the lights but others we have been to, they also spray it down and wipe them out. read more

Very disappointed that I called ahead to make appointments for my group, including making sure that Luxury Nails knew that my 8 year old daughter would be with us. She is a little on the sensitive side, and we did not appreciate it when one nail tech after another refused to work on her manicure as if she wasn't worth their time. Their loss - I am an excellent tipper, especially for those who take the time to do a good job when providing a service to my child. I've been going to Luxury Nails for almost 2 years now and love the convenience in the Galleria and proximity to my house. Mimi is, by far, the best nail tech there and who I ask for most often. She's detailed, gentle with my hands, and very good at French manicures! If I get someone other than Mimi, I'm not always confident the service is as great at with Mimi, but I've never had a situation where it's "awful" or where I'm embarrassed by the work done or have a negative experience. The Pedi's are great, and I enjoy the amount of time they spend. I've even been there as they are closing (about to be done with my service) and they've willingly taken in new customers 5 min. before they close to be accommodating. I came here with my sister in law and her 8 year old daughter. We just wanted manicures so we called ahead to make an appointment. We arrive and have to wait for a half hour. They start on me while my niece is waiting. Two men become free to do her nails and they are actually rolling their eyes when I remind them she's next, she's been waiting for an hour. I had to get up and not finish my manicure so my niece could get her nails done by my person. This place has terrible customer service and the men in particular are super rude. Very disappointed in Luxury Nails today! I didn't have an appointment ( I usually just walk in), wrote my name down, proceeded to wait. As the 30 minute mark approached, an employee asked me what I wanted. I told him "just a pedi, no color." The employee told me it was going to be 20-30 minutes! They need a coordinator, or only accept appointments on Sunday. I've never been treated like this here, and being that it is a 50 mile round trip for me, I'm not sure I'll be back.
