I came here Saturday. I had a gel manicure. after I left i noticed my nails were paper thin. I thought well maybe they will get harder. I've been to many salons and I had never experienced soft nails. well 2 days later they are still paper thin. one has broken and one has chipped. I went in and asked why they are so thin. she said there are different kinds of gel. hard gel or regular gel. what? I've never heard that. no one has ever said that to me. she kept giving me just excuses one after another. then I asked why after 2 days will my nail polish be chipping. again she proceeded to give me excuses. never did she offer to make it right or fix the chipped polish. I have been to several salons and I have never had such poor service as I have at this one. if I was able to, I would have given this place a negative 5 rating. read more

This was the worst nail experience. My daughter's nails were all different lengths. Her friend's nails were completely misshapen and different lengths and lumpy. Mine didn't even get finished. To remove the old SNS, they used the drill only which began to burn and was taking my nails down to nothing. I asked them to soak them off twice before they finally wrapped them and then the girl walked off and never came back. I took the wraps off myself after about five minutes but she never came back to actually do my nails.... Then they had the nerve to tell me if I came back tomorrow, they could finish them. No thanks! I ended up paying another salon down the street to re-do my daughter's and her friend's nails and to finish mine. I definitely won't be back! read more

had a very poor experience here yesterday. I clear and openly showed my nail tech what I wanted, was not hard to do and showed her photos of a classic French. she briefly looked at the photo and I kept asking "you can do?" Mid way throug, I knew my nails would look terrible and I asked her to fix two that were horribly uneven. I was on a time crunch otherwise I would have started over. every nail of mine was is bumpy, uneven lengths, I asked for almond shape and I have what looks like triangles shape. the French design is thick after I told her "thin" many times. i demand a discount and she tried arguing against that saying she could fix it. I went for a few visits and on the last two the tech cut my cuticles to the point of bleeding; I wound up with a fungal infection on my pinkie that has caused the nail to come off all together. read more

Turns out, men can get pedicures too. We don't take good care of our feet. They are just there for us. We barely clip our nails. My wife and daughter insisted I should get a 'pedi'. haha. Not me, I thought. but they insisted, and then gave me a gift card for Father's day, and then insisted a bit more. So I had no excuse anymore. My first impression was that this place is clean and spacious. My favorite part is the high-tech massage chair. I got a free back massage while getting my feet taking care of. The second thing you need to know is that KB is super clean. They opened what seemed to be a sterilized package of clippers and accessories (don't know their names) for each customer. They use liners in the small tubs where you place your feet under water. The third thing you should know is that it is totally worth it. I plan on doing this at least twice a year. They clip, trim, sand, massage, and tone your feet while you enjoy your massage. It's actually relaxing. And my feet are happy I tried it. Worth a shot. read more

Terrible experience, never going back. Went in for a French manicure with dip-in powder and they charged me $50 when I knew my mom had gotten them for $40. I agreed anyway (great mistake). I hate how type-A this sounds but this was the worst French manicure I've ever gotten. Cherry on top, my mom was getting her nails refilled with dip-in powder and although we had established at the beginning with the lady that it was just $20 for the refill, they charged us $40 for it (aka almost a whole new manicure). Ridiculous! We didn't look particularly rich but I guess they judged us anyway when the lady doing my nails asked me where we lived. KB Nails at this location is my favorite place in Austin ever! I tried about 6 places in Austin before finding this one. I've been going here for about 2 years. I always go to Ana. The owner is Lynn and she's very good too. In fact, all the ladies are good there. You need to book an appointment because they book up fast. I LOVE sparkle, so I always get sparkle and glitter nails. I do SNS, which is a form of acrylic but healthier for the nails. They also do gel, of course, regular manicures, and pedicures. Lynn also does lash extensions there and they always look AMAZING! Better than any other place I've gone to and for a fraction of the price. I was just at KB nails yesterday with my sister. TERRIBLE SERVICE and OVERPRICED!! I went to KB nails today because my regular salon was closed. The service was terrible. They ignored their phone with customers trying to call to confirm if they were open, and then they charged me DOUBLE than what their listed prices. I got a shellac manicure and pedicure that was listed in their brochure for $30 + 5 to remove existing polish. Somehow with "funny math", my total came to $86 and they wanted a 15% tip!! I told them I was being charged more than listed, and a group of them started arguing with me!!? Needless to say, I will NEVER be back. There are plenty of amazing spots in Lakeway to go to. Try out either Emilie's or Lily Organic Spa. Really, anywhere for KB nails. You'll get the quality and service without the "bait and switch" sticker shock pricing. Love this place! I continue to come back! It always seems clean and they are super friendly. Anna is great. I get the sns with no tip added. Update 10/7/18. Anna is still great I am sure. However, today I went in for a pedicure and sns manicure but I didnt get Anna. My pedicure turned out great and for that I am grateful, however a different girl stepped in did my sns manicure at the same time as the pedicure and it turned out really crappy. Pictures to follow. Im not one to complain to someones face unfortunately but this is the second time this one person (whom I wont name) has done a manicure thats turned out horrible. She rushed through it, "couldnt find the color" that I originally requested, and did a really sloppy job - i have attached photos that show all or the ripples and bumps in the sns fingernails. Lesson learned, do not go here the day before a trip when they cut the tip of your toenail bed off, cause it to bleed profusely, then take $5 off and say oops, sorry. Terrified I'm going to get an infection on my trip now. Won't be back and sad I came. read more

KB Nails- Anna does a very good job of SNS. However she understands very little English. I sit about an hour while she yells and laughs along with the others that work there in a language I don't know. They have a t.v. on the wall in the back with no sound. I hv almost fallen asleep in the chair our of being so board. To speak a foreign language no customers understand is very rude and most uncomfortable for the clients! It is expensive, and this is the one thing I do for myself. However this isn't a relaxing experience. I just got the worst services and cheated out of my money! I went to another nail shop yesterday and i got regular polish that I was to busy to let dry, so my paint chipped. I decided while in Lakeway at work id go to this shop on lunch and get gel. I didnt need a manicure, I had one the day before. Just a polish change. I went into the shop and it was scary. The customers all looked concerned. The shop workers were laughing and talking about each of us in another language. I was SO uncomfortable to the point I said "I am uncomfortable" out loud and heard 3 other women say "me too". The lady snatched my hand repeatedly, I asked for a rose gold polish on my ring finger. She bought gold and I had to retract my hands to get her to not put it on. I just kept saying rose gold. Next thing I knew a crowd was around me staring and repeating rose gold, rose gold. Now this shops pamphlet says a full deluxe manicure is $20. I only got a polish change. Thats it! I just got a full manicure the day before at another shop. The pamphlet says a polish change is $10. The nail tech said $20 as I was walking to the counter. Then when I got to the counter the cashier her and the nail tech had a brief exchange once again in another language and changed the price to $23 adding $3 for a design. What design? My ring finger was painted rose gold another polish color. Not a design. Then she expected a TIP!!! No MAAM !!! I walked out and when the charge stops pending I am disputing with my bank. read more

I have been going to KB for many moons and they are always excellent!!! Lynn, the owner is always going to shows and training to provide the best and latest products to her customers. She specializes in lashes and eyebrow treatments and is a true artist. You can tell when a salon is top quality because they have the same nail technicians working there for years and years so you will not have to change every month to a new girl because Lynn keeps her employees happy. I love the product SNS nails and no one has the selection of colors that KB does because they create them in house by mixing and blending new colors all the time. They recently installed all new pedicure chairs too. Go check it out! read more

They don't know how to do nails!! I went in to get a full set of acrylics, two days later one nail broke off and two were cracked. They were too thin. I decided to go back to get them fixed (big mistake!) First they were rude about it. They said that I should've told them to make my nails thicker. I have never had to tell a nail technician how to do my nails in the last 15 years of getting my nails done. She fixed my nails by making them thicker but then they were bumpy and not even. Terrible painting too. She also kept leaving me to do other things. She left me and didn't complete the job helping new customers coming in while I'm waiting there with wet nails. She skips many steps (I know the steps after getting my nails done for 15 years). After she's done with her terrible work, she charges me $30 to fix their mistake. I wish I can rip my nails off because they are awful!! Never will go here and if you want nice nails don't go here. Toe nails had so many layers of polish, they were wet for hours and, as a result, got completely smudged. Gel manicure started chipping on day 2 and after a week, 5 out of 10 nails were chipped. At other places, my gel manicures last over a month. It is well worth paying a little more and getting a much better quality mani and pedi. read more

I usually don't go to KB nails, but heard they did a great job. They did indeed to a great job as far as the nails go. I like short nails even though I ask for tips with my SNS. I understand that not everyone wants super short nails, but I am the customer and the one paying....so I shouldn't have an issue getting what I want. The lady doing my nails told me that short nails are bad (basically saying they are ugly) and refused to cut them as short as I asked. I had to file them down when I got home because I don't like long nails. I will not be back. I am the one paying and I am the customer. I should be able to get what I want with the amount of money I spent. read more

Was ok A bit pricey SNS is the latest "strength shellac that allows nails to grow and isn't as damaging as regular shellac".. I'm not all that impressed, takes a long time.. Much longer than regular gel. I did it on my toes and nails for 89.00 Massage for pedicure was terrible and very short. It'll due for now but for over a 100.00 bucks I want to feel great! This was a great experience!! We were warmly greeted and everyone was really inviting. Even though the place was packed, they seated our party of three (as a walk in) within 5 minutes. They didn't do a lot of scrubbing and cuticle work but they gave us a lengthy massage to make up for it, which I don't mind, of course!! The ladies were all very nice and were very patient with me changing colors 5 times and smudging it by accident. Didn't seem irritated at all. Over all, after all the salons I've been to in Austin, I'd highly recommend this place. Give it a try and you won't regret it! read more

I had a bad experience with having some gel polish removed. The woman was in a hurry and didn't use the appropriate amount of time for the procedure. It ruined my own nails from having improper measures performed. I will never use them again. It has taken nearly 3 years for my nail beds to heal. I am just now beginning to be able to grow nails but they're not strong like before. I've been to KB Nails several times over the past year because it's fairly convenient for me. They usually do a decent job and there are a few of friendly employees. I won't be going back after my experience last week. The nail technician made my cuticles bleed in three different places. She got the bleeding to stop long enough to continue working on them, but then would have to stop as they started bleeding again. When she finally finished, I left with sore, bloody cuticles. The technician seemed annoyed that it happened and that it was taking longer than it should have. She barely apologized. I rarely complain or take the time to write a review, but feel others should know this. read more

I've had excellent service until this weekend. I waited 30 minutes for my appointment on Friday. I rescheduled for Sat. at 1:00 but when I showed up she said it was on Sunday at 1:30. I arrived on time Sunday and was told my appointment was 15 minutes ago and I was late.
