Buyer beware: PEDICURES ONLY AT THIS PLACE!! I've had many lovely pedicures here. But, today, I had the worst manicure I've ever experienced. My manicurist got overly aggressive with the buffer and hurt me. Then, he got overly aggressive with the cuticle pusher and hurt me. And then he got overly aggressive with the cuticle scissors and hurt me. Then, he yanked my fingers around painfully during the polishing process and hurt me again with the buffer at the end. And, he polished it off by announcing I was done without a drop of hand lotion or a minute of massage. And, in between ignoring my gasps of pain, he paused my manicure about a dozen times to text someone at length - so rude. I come to a nail salon to relax but this was....not that. My cuticles are red and painful tonight, with several small abrasions and cuts. In conclusion - pedicure = 4 stars, manicure 1 star. read more

I wanted to give this place another chance, but unfortunately both experiences weren't great. The overall energy felt very negative, and the staff came off as pretty rude during my visit. I went back to fix a nail that broke shortly after getting gel, and the interaction still felt unwelcoming. I was also charged for fixing just one nail, which I wasn't expecting based on past experiences elsewhere. Customer service really makes a difference, and I just didn't feel comfortable here. Stay AWAY!! Pedicure was wonderful and relaxing, mani was a nightmare. I had an appointment for 12:45, arriving on time, and didn't leave til 3pm. During my manicure, the manicurist was on her phone the entire time calling and texting people, not focused on my service. Yes, she did ask me kind questions, but she was not meticulous regarding the service whatsoever. The tools she used were not sanitized and were dirty. She cut my cuticle on multiple nails. They came out bulky and sad. I had shown her many photos of elegant soft nails and I came out with Barbie's hell. Been caring for my cuticles so to not risk infection EEEK! The only positive experience here is that she gave me a full refund on this manicure. The staff was fair in this matter. GURL- wanna a pedi? Go for it! I got cut 5 different times throughout my dip manicure. No dollar amount taken off. Would not return. My skin stings and hurts. Ouch!!

If I could add a 0 I would. I have NEVER been so manhandled for a pedicure. It was my first and last time I will set foot in that salon. When cleaning my cuticles on my big toe, the nail tech was holding extra cuticle skin and twisting while ripping it out. I told him multiple times it hurt. He then told me it needed to be done, my other nail techs did me wrong. I kept saying how much it hurt and that I have never had any nail tech do this, then he didn't continue that action with my other toes. He also barely filed my nails and left sharp toe nail edges. Creating ingrown nails. He also barely worked on the other cuticles. I didn't notice until the next day. The polish was hap-hazard and then with no word, got up and left before the top coat. Someone else added that. No one told us we were done, they didn't direct us to the dry stations. Nothing. I should have got up and walked upon the first painful pull of ripping the sidewall cuticle out. My regular pedicurist is fixing my toes now. She is appalled. This was THE WORST PEDICURE IN THREE STATES and I'm a 25 year professional makeup and hair artist for commercial and television. I go to the best in Austin. This is ridiculous! read more

I never leave reviews but I had to.. I went in for a pedicure and was charged $93. for a simple pedicure. NOT worth it. very disappointing.

first time today and did a walk in for a toenail polish change...just sad....for $20 not only did I expect more, no cuticle push back and no buff on the top of the nail to smooth it out. He also did not clean up the over polish that is on my toes and the filing job was also lack luster as one corner of my nail was not filed down properly and is about to come off so the polish will likely peel from that in a day or so. Vivian has been my nail tech... she's a seasoned veteran w/ skills! Very sweet and pays attention to details! I'm quite particular!!! Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is do to booking issues/ short staffed more times than not. Make certain to call in and book an appt or you may wait longer than expected. They had my info when I walked in, but after waiting 45 mins past my appt time, they tried to justify the wait and said they didn't have it and I should have called. I wasn't with the person I had requested online. Many other patrons were waiting 30+ mins past their appointment time. I could overlook the wait if my pedicure didn't start looking run down a few days later and chips before a week. I didn't get the basic pedicure, either. I had a great experience here! It's really easy to book an appointment with West 71 online and they'll confirm with you via text a few times to remind you of the date and time. Comfortable seats while you wait and at my exact appointment time I was taken back for a full set of acrylics. Mary - who did my nails - did a test nail on my little finger to confirm the look I was going for (I didn't ask her to do this but she's a perfectionist and I appreciated it) and within 45 mins my nails looked amazing. My lady...I think her previous job was on a nascar pit crew. Yeah, technically she did the job...knocked off a few callouses and efforted to put some lotion on me, but she started much later than the other person and finished way before. Paint stayed on for a long time and didn't chip, but as far as receiving what I paid for, no. So...they get a "meh"... it all depends on who is taking care of you. This was my first time visiting and I would not recommend ever going again. I went in the morning and, after 30mins of waiting, decided to make an appointment for the afternoon. When I returned for my scheduled appointment I still had to wait 30 mins. Clearly understaffed but I still waited. I wanted acrylic with thin French tips and an oval shape. Instead I got lopsided almond shaped nails with thick French tips. Usually technicians ask how thick you want the French tips to be. The application was aggressively sloppy and rushed to the point where my finger bled from filing. The technician must of forgot she made me bleed because she proceeds to put acetone on the cut to try and remove the excess glue that was on my skin. My fingers are still sore hours after and coated with glue. Now I need to find another place that is willing to redo nails that have just been worked on. read more

I've been to this salon many times and had medium level experiences, but today was the last time. I paid close to two hundred dollars and two hours of my time for a crappy gel mani and pedi plus rude service, no ability to communicate easily with anyone, 30 minute late for appointments, tried to just give my daughter a different service without asking, burned my hands with the old gel machines-the entire experience is miserable. My daughter was crying because they cut her nails hallways down her fingers and toes and the polish was not perfect. Yikes! read more

This was probably one of the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. The man who did my toes never spoke a single word the whole time. He hurt me twice by cutting both of my big toe nail WAY too short and then once he had finished painting them he used a paint brush with alcohol on it to clean it up which went across the part of my toe that he had been cut. Once finished with everything he gave me some actual flip flops, not those usual thin foam shoes, but actual flip flops that u could wear and i went to dry. By the way, the shoes were a pretty yellow color. I was there with my mom and so I had to wait for her to finish as well. I had the shoes on for about 5-10 mins give or take and when I got to my vehicle I took them off to change my shoes and when I took them off MY FEET WERE YELLOW!!!
