As a man I was pretty insecure the first time I walked into Luxe for a pedicure. I quickly realized nobody looked at me funny or thought it was weird. The staff here was all very professional and the atmosphere inside is really cool. High ceilings, good lighting, and a lot of space so you don't feel trapped. When they sat me down the massage chair, I was sure I'd made the right decision! I chose to go with the deluxe pedicure which involves a sugar scrub, 10 minute massage, hot stone rub, and some sort of mask. I asked them if I could avoid the foot mask and they were more than happy to oblige. The whole experience lasts about 40 minutes as a guy that doesn't need his nails painted. If you choose to get the nails painted it can take 10-15 minutes more. I like to bring a book whenever I get a pedicure, and I'd suggest you do too. There's plenty of time to read between waiting, getting the pedicure, and giving your feet 5 minutes to dry afterwards. Anyway, the whole experience was super comfortable, and I've been going once a month for the last year or so. Never had any accidents or uncomfortable moments, everyone here is super skilled and professional. Out of all the places in the Biltmore area, this is by far the safest, cleanest, and most comfortable. Come here for all your needs if you get the chance! read more

My go to nail salon for high quality, long lasting nails. Whenever you walk in without an appointment, they'll never turn you away. They will always try to upsell you with a pedicure or additional service, and will always find time to add you to their schedule. Not the cheapest salon you'll visit and prices seem to fluctuate based on who does your nails, but I will pay the higher prices to get nails that won't break or chip for 4+ weeks. read more

I've been to Luxe 3 other times not sure why I've never reviewed.... Today was a very good experience got there at 1230 they got me right in (think her name was Grace) I was out by 110, fastest nail job I've ever received. She did a really good job she didn't talk to me at all and when she gave instruction was very soft spoken and polite. I had no issues with this visit. For those interested in COVID safety: everyone wore a mask & there was hand sanitizer at the front counter. But that's about it that I noticed, to plexi glass between u and ur tech, every chair was filled I wasn't 6 ft from the next customer. Everything was clean and looked clean. read more

This time it was super unfortunate, I was a walk in when they were not busy. The gentleman that did my nails refused to give me dip which is what I asked for and what I typically get. So this place is very hit and miss. I've visited making an appointment (which is a waste of time) and having to wait for an hour after my appointment time and I've also visited as a walk-in with limited wait time. As a warning, if you ever visit during a busy time just leave and either return later or go somewhere else. They don't give you the best estimated wait time. For the time I was here for an hour they basically told me in the next 10 minutes until it was actually time. For the times where it's not as busy, it's great! They do a really go job and they are pretty cleaning. They probably are one of the cleanest nail shop I've visited in Phoenix. Most o the tools and bushes they use are coming directly out of the packages. They also don't use the horrible food grater that most salons use on feet. I've honestly always been pretty happy with the final product, their customer service and their transparency are the two things that bothers me. If you know it's busy and it'll be an hour, just say that i stead of saying 10minutes when it's not the truth. read more

I I have to say that my original review still stands, and there are a number of talented and friendly people that work at Luxe! The owner (or manager) when you walk in is wonderful and very welcoming! Tiffany and Van ( nail techs) are talented and very friendly! This is about my 6th visit to Luxe, but unfortunately, I did not have a pleasurable experience. I requested any one of the ladies to do my nails, because I had one bad experience with allowing one young man to do my nails during a previous visit. He was super rough and would flick my hand in the air when he was ready to paint the next nail or work on the other hand. When he was done, I had lumpy polish. Today when I walked in, I asked the manager for any one of the ladies to do my refill (which I now request whenever Tiffany is unavailable). I was directed to sit at Rose's table. Today was probably the second most unfriendly service I've had at Luxe ( besides the young man that I referenced earlier). I wasn't greeted by Rose, but instead just given the nail colors to choose from! I wasn't asked if I wanted gel or a regular acrylic refill. I wasn't asked if I wanted my nails cut (both of these questions are standard at any nail bar or nail salon... Including at Luxe). The entire time she was jabbing the skin down around my cuticle to cause discomfort. And then, the electric nail file was sent onto my actual finger. Throughout the process, I was filled with worry about where the pain was going to come from next. She seemed really annoyed with me every time the nail dryer would cut off while my hands were in it. And when she was done, she simply sent me to the sink and walked away. I had no idea of where the sinks were until I got to the back of the room, because I always get gel refills and pedis. Today was my first and last time sitting at the last station on the right when I walk in the door. Unfortunately, it taught me that there is more than just the one young man to avoid when going to Luxe to relax and have your nails done! I'm hoping that the manager can invest in customer service training for the nail techs that need it and maybe teaching the basic understanding that no matter who your customer is- we have other choices to go to and our money has the same value. read more

Well... at least it was close to where I was staying. But in the future, I would pass. After being seated in the chair, I was left to soak for about 20 minutes with no communication. Was about to get up and leave when someone finally came over to start my pedicure. The pedicure was fine enough but the manicurist who did my gel was too rough with my nails. I asked her twice to please file gently in one direction because they are prone to splitting. Instead, she continued sawing back-and-forth like she was trying to escape prison. The finishes are also quite dingy (stains on the sofa, etc.) For what they charge plus tip, it just wasn't worth it. read more

I didn't have time to ask the gentleman to fix my nails, so a slight discount would have been feasible since I'm leaving out of town and cannot come back with 24-48 hours. I was specifically told "I don't see anything wrong with them" to my face. I repeated multiple times that I don't have time for them to fix it, especially since my index finger was accidentally cut deeply during the manicure and wouldn't stop bleeding. My pedicure was great but the same person did my hands and it was terrible. I requested no massage during the pedicure, since I didn't have time and deemed it unnecessary, but there was no cuticle oil put on my fingers or lotion offered. Lux is very clean, friendly staff, and is a step up from your normal nail salon. They have a huge selection of colors in regular polish, gel, dip powder, etc. I definitely think they are fairly priced. Got a deluxe pedicure with hot stone, removal of old gel polished acrylic nails to full manicure with polish, and polish of my youngest daughters toes for $79 total. Ah, the joys of moving. You not only have the stress of packing and finding a place to live, but you also have to find new places to get a mani/pedi. I know, I know...#firstworldproblems Today was my third attempt at trying to find a new nail salon. I found this place thanks to my fellow Yelpers. They were pretty accurate I must say. I got a classic pedicure and hombre gel manicure. Not too shabby. They started with my pedicure. It was pretty basic, which is what I expected since I didn't upgrade my experience. No complaints here at all. Maybe next time I'll try the next level. For my manicure, my big thing is I like them to last as long as possible. The gal recommended I do pink/white gel but in an hombre style. I tried it and think it's pretty subdued but nice. After 2 hours there, I was done and ended up paying $74 including the tip. A little more expensive than my last 2 places, but they did a better job here. It was very busy on a Saturday, but they did take walk ups. Not sure what the point was of making a reservation (which I did), since no one asked if I did. Update 10/11/18: Here's a tip based on their operating hours - Make sure to get there at least 1 hour before closing. If you get there 30 minutes before closing they might turn you away. read more

This place is insane oh my god, the reviews are all true. I'm not exaggerating, 3 (!!!) women asked to speak to the manager while I was there, 1 for the same issue as me. I've been here before a few times before, I always was cut in some way but I figured it happens. But this visit was the most unprofessional i've ever experienced at a nail salon. I scheduled a full set/pedi appt and everything was going normal. I was getting the mani while I was sitting in the pedi chair, so I was distracted by both. I could feel the nail file against the top of my finger, and looked down to see my nails were cut super short. I had asked for this exact style below (first photo). I let the man know and showed him the photo again, he seemed upset and reluctant but said all we could do is start over. He brought acetone and I felt so bad but didn't want to be unhappy with super expensive nails. I hear him talking to another client he went to help, and hear them talking about me. Another woman ushers me over to her station, and was immediately rude and very rough with me to the point that I was in pain. She rushed through it, and raised her voice when she told me to make sure it was the right length. I told her it was too long, and referenced the photo again. She said "shorter?! oh my god" then roughly filed my nails. I asked if she could keep filing, and she rolled her eyes and exclaimed something to the tech sitting beside her (the man from earlier). I got up and said "it's okay, I'm going to go elsewhere". The manager rushed over and I heard the nail tech yelling "she said she wanted long!". The manager was begging me to stay and it's "a 5 min fix". I asked why I would get an eye roll from something that is a quick fix. I paid and left. I got my nails done and they look very pretty. They have lots of color choices and lots of nail techs. My natural nails behind my acrylic nails needed glue or something because they were peeling behind the acrylic nail and driving me crazy. They are very fast which is great but maybe need to slow down a little bit to make sure the filing is good, etc. read more

This last visit was my final straw. My visit was for a pedi and full set acrylic (my usual). Everything was great at first but what really ticked me off was when the female nail tech moved me to the regular desk and chair for hands, the man that had just finished my pedi followed and wanted me to pay for my services before I was even finished??? Was he concerned I was not going to pay?? He openly discussed wanting to charge me $115 for my services and the woman said "no, 105 she's okay." They we're literally making up their own prices right in my face and I thought the man would have charged me the $105 as the woman told him. I'm still in the middle of service but I'm not confrontational so I gave him my card for payment and I assumed it was $105. He then proceeded to ask me for a tip (I did like my pedi and how my set was looking so I added a $15 tip). Turns out the man charged me $115 and I ended up pay $130 total. He laughed and then proudly showed the woman doing my hands the little pay device that he deceived me. She shook her head and said nothing. I guess she was embarrassed on my behalf. This is not my first time being overcharged. I've been having Vanessa do my sets for my visits since she is amazing at what she does but for a fill on a previous set and a pedi, the salon charged me $110. These past two visits and the huge discrepancies in prices are insane. I would have got a new set if that is what they were going to charge me for. Unfortunately I won't be returning unless this salon's management gets their shit together and provides honest and transparent prices. Not only did my hands and toes not match, neither of them were even the right color. Rather than tan, I had pink nails and cantaloupe colored pedicure.
