I had my first tan at Sugar Sugar last Thursday. First I would like to say that their booking staff is very forgiving and lovely. Since I was a first time tanner, I had no idea what I needed to do and did not realize I needed to get my nails done beforehand. I got there 20 minutes early expecting to wait, and they took me in right away! I was very happy. The staff explained to me what was going to happen and I felt very informed and comfortable. I'm from out of town and my eyes were bothering me from eyelash extensions I got a little over a week ago. I was going to wait until I got home to get them removed. I could not take the discomfort any longer and I called Sugar Sugar PHX to see if the could get me in. I made my appt for within the hour. When I arrived, I was greeted very warmly. My esthetician, Abby, was told about my issue before I came in which was great. She answered all my questions before we got started because if I was going to do extensions again I wanted to be sure I was not going to have the same issues. One of the owners, Will, was also there and let me know I was in good hands. She was able to remove my old extensions, that were causing me so much discomfort, with some ease. She was so great and made the whole experience comfortable and fun. She took her time insuring I would not have the same issue as before with a whole new set. I LOVE HER WORK. Kenzea was very professional, personal and extremely knowledgeable. She just kept the conversation going and before I knew I was done and felt great. Best sugaring experience in 15 years! I literally have been waxing or sugaring for over 15 years and this was the most comfortable and least painful Brazilian ever. Also, they are the first to actually use sugar on my upper lip, which was great because it was the first time I didn't have to deal with my lip breaking out after. I work at a hair salon so we always are getting asked for suggestions on lashes, tanning, eyebrows etc. I went on my bday for a tan and I have to say Aimee the owner was amazing. Great customer service and also a very cool Personality. I got an express tan and I loved it! They use apple or pear sugar so I never got orange or smelled funny! It was perfect. I loved that she focused on my shoulders, it looked very natural and she also protected my hands and feet so no weird coloration was present. In my opinion, sugaring is much less painful than traditional waxing. My skin is sensitive and I have less redness afterward and no longer have an issue with ingrown hairs. My experience with the staff at Sugar Sugar was great. The salon is very cute, easy to locate, and impeccably clean. Unfortunately, I developed pretty extensive bruising after receiving a sugared Brazilian. I have received this service once before at another salon without this adverse reaction. Not sure if it's me or the technique that was used, but it's not pretty...UPDATE: The owners of the salon contacted me and apologized for my first visit. I was invited to return to have my service performed again and had an excellent experience. I also had my brows sugared and tinted. I was a first timer this summer and was extremely nervous to get a Brazilian. Especially by myself because of COVID restrictions. I was immediately welcomed by Kamryn. Not only are the facilities super clean and adorable, I didn't even get a chance to sit down and wait before they took me back to start my appointment. I've heard great things about every girl here but Kamryn went above and beyond to mentally prep me for everything. She took the time to get to know me and ask non intrusive questions about myself. Because of this, I was able to be myself and felt comfortable with the genuine distraction. She reminded me that this appointment would probably be the most painful and the rest will feel significantly easier. When she followed up with a call for my next appointment, she was sure to ask about the vacation I was so excited about. I finally had the chance to go back in today and she remembered every last detail of our first conversation. She is so educated in her craft, extremely talented, and was still the super nice girl I remembered her to be. My second appointment was painless just like she promised and even though the pricing is a little out of budget, feeling valued as a customer is worth the whole experience. Sugar Sugar made me feel cared for during a lonely pandemic. Their appointments are quick but it's enough time to feel like you just spent an entire brunch bonding with your best friend. Friendly staff, but would not suggest getting eyelashes done here. I came in because my normal lash place didn't have any evening hours and found sugar sugar on yelp. I noticed they had good reviews and also that I didn't come across any lash reviews, but gave it a try anyway. That being said, they only had single lashes and the adhesion was terrible, way too much was used which clumped my natural lashes together ( which I am stuck having to grow out)The lashes were also not applied on the inner half of the lash line as they should have been. When it comes to lashes a lack in quality is just not an option, I recommend choosing different place for this service. read more

I came here to get my spray tan for senior ditch day/prom, and I wanted to try something new. I understand that this is a temporary location, but I struggled to find it and there was barely any parking. I got my spray tan and it looked like I had freckles all over me. When I asked the lady about it, she said that they would wash off. I showered the next morning and most of these dots came off, but my arms and hands still had the dots all over them and were super blotchy!! I have had several spray tans before and this has never happened to me. The overall application was super uneven and I looked a little bit orange. My legs are way darker than the rest of my body and my chest barely looks like it was sprayed. I just can't get over how bad my arms look. If they weren't as splotchy as they are, I wouldn't be mad about the spray tan.The only positive about this that I have is that the staff was friendly. read more
