I haven't gone back, but wanted to update my review as I did receive a text from the manager requesting that I come back in for a service for a discount. Assuming they read the review/ saw the attached pics and found my number through their data base you use to sign into the salon. Since I haven't been back, I cannot update my review on the service actually received, but I do want to give credit to any business that attempts to fix their mistake. I have found a new place I like, but would be willing to give them another try.
Im looking at the worst nails I've ever seen tonight. My daughter wanted a pink and white acrylic full set. I went with her and paid $75. This is what she got. They glued the nails to her skin under her nails, tore up her cuticles which are now bleeding and sore, and -- get this -- they didn't even use acrylic. The tech literally just glued on some clear plastic nails and painted them. You can see the gap between the end of her finger and where the white starts. And the tech tried to use some sparkles my daughter didn't ask for to cover up how horrible they looked? Gonna have to pay another $100 to get them taken off and re-done once her skin heals. Cutting and painting over until then. If you value your money and time, do not go here. I'm done.
Very dissapointed with this ugly set. Came in about a month later after this rush job and requested someone else because from what it seemed like she did not care about the quality of her work. She then got offended because I didn't want her and just lingered around the lady I had requested... It's sad... I always thought she was the best tech here based on the interactions I've seen between her and other customers.
I first went to this spa a few weeks again and it's a cute spot tucked away in the shopping center. Great service when I first came here. Today I got the a regular manicure and deluxe pedicure, and figured I would treat myself. While I understand it's busy because of Easter my Nail specialist was on the phone (with an AirPod in one ear) and was not paying attention to me and rushing through. Several times she caused intense discomfort because she wasn't paying attention - while cutting my toe nails, I had to tell her to stop because she was rushing through and it was painful. She began debriding my heel of dead skin and she was doing it so roughly I was wincing. She did not care. I had to tell her to stop several times. She was rough and callous while buffing my nails, I told her to move on. The other technicians were embarrassed and all moved away. I got several sympathetic looks. My massage lasted all of one minute per leg. The sugar scrub lasted all of one minute. The hot rock massage 30 seconds. ** this is very different than the first time I was here! ** During my manicure there was no massage, and she's chatting on the phone while I'm trying to tell her my nail color. She had to confirm three times because she wasn't paying attention. ** I got clear coat. ** I could keep going - While buffing my nail she just watched as the leftover debris rained down on my pants. I had to move my hand over and get my pants out of the fall out zone because she didn't care and would have kept going. I would go back but I would be Very Very specific with which technician you work with.
I love coming here! I've been coming for about 6 months to get my nails done and I'm always happy with the results and with the prices. I've tried different salons thought the valley, and the quality here cannot be beat. I always bring in a crazy nail art idea of some sort and no matter who I get to do my nails, always does exactly what I'm looking for! My nails last over a month and I've never had one break unlike when I've had them done somewhere else. Also, it's been easy for me to always walk in and promptly get serviced as well. I'm so glad I found 16th Street Nails!
My go to place for pedicures and full sets ! I'm not picky about my technicians because they all do a great job but this last time I went I had the male technician (Lee) and he did an absolute amazing job on my French ombré set. LOVE IT !!! It can get kinda busy but it's worth the wait !
I stopped by during the holidays, a busy time, and I was able to get in with just a short wait. They have a HUGE selection of dip/SNS colors, and the hardest part is choosing one! My service was efficient and friendly, although not chatty, which is just how I like it. The only thing small issue is that I asked for rounded, less square tips, and they ended up being still more square in the end. Also, the tech forgot the hand massage, and I had to ask for it. Still, they look great and I would go back.
I've been here 4 times so far and l've never left disappointed!! I forgot to ask her name but she sits at the first chair on the left when you walk in. She's done my nails before and both her and Larry are really fast, skilled, and friendly. Definitely recommend this place !
I wanted to really like this place... but it just isn't what great at all. Yesterday I was wanting to get my nails done closer to home, so I decided to try this place out. I went in without an appointment, and only waited about 10 minutes. I asked for a regular fill & was sat with a woman named Kelly. I will say, she was nice for the most part. Which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. When she started doing my fill, she was being incredibly rough. She would push my cuticle so far up, to the point that it's not been well over 48hrs & they still hurt. All of a sudden, she takes out sns powder & starts dipping my fingers... even tho I told her it was regular acrylic powder? I didn't want them to come out thick or clumpy. Welp. I got clumpy alright. My nails are different sizes on both of my hands. Some are squared. Others are coffin. Others are more rounded. And the worst part about it is that my nails have bumps & holes in them. They look terrible & now I'm nervous that because half my nail is sns & the other acrylic powder, that these things are never coming off. I'm so sad. I should've stuck with my regular place. SO not even worth the $17+tip.
I got a bacterial infection under my nail after getting them done here. I'm very hygienic & this has only happened at this salon. You can also see that she drilled too deep and I have deep grooves on my nails now. The design was cute but the sponge left a bumpy texture & dirt gets stuck. This set was $55. Not happy :(
Amenities -two unisex bathrooms -three massage chairs in waiting room - plenty of pedicure chairs and manicure tables -eyelash extensions and wax Services The place was crowded on Monday. The sign lists no Monday but they do open on Monday. My boyfriend received a nice pedicure with attentive care in case of his ingrown toe nails. the place is mostly quiet and relaxing. I definitely recommend read more

Zoom in! They have inexperienced people doing nails here! I asked for the almond shaped. I got some with the almond tip. I got some round. I got some shorter than others. The color runs to my skin. Some of the nail polish looks bulky very horrible job! Please don't waste your money here. The woman that did this was rushing and went back and forth with me and another customer that was getting a pedicure done. Luckily, I have a drill at home and I'm going to try to fix them! read more

I loved the service here. It felt nice to be able to support a small Asian business. Although business is slow, the people at this business care about their customers. I got my nails done by Loan Le, she is friendly and accommodating. She even offered a discount but I refused because of how amazing the service was! I definitely loved coming here. This place is underrated and deserves more hype. If you want cheap nails that look amazing, this is the place to come. Regardless of the area this is in, this is worth the money. I reccomend coming here over a salon in Scottsdale. read more

This place in 100% hit or miss. It's really hard trying new places especially when it comes to spending your hard earned money. My sister in law has been here a few times and mentioned it was cheap and great! So I was excited to give it a try. First impression, everyone is super nice and it appeared clean. I started with my pedicure and the nail tech that I had (sorry I don't know her name) almost rushed my pedicure which really sucked cause I really enjoy getting my feet rubbed and being relaxed (who doesn't after working hard all week?) I got the #2 - $35 and it was not worth it at all. I should have only paid $10 for the work she did. She barley rubbed my feet or my legs. She hardly did any of the skin removal and probably only spent about 10 min on my feet. My sister in law on the other hand got a royal treatment and got the same #2 pedicure the lady worked really well on her pedi. I was extremely disappointed I didn't even want to get a color and I didn't . So next was my full set. I believe I got the nail tech TAMMY. I did read all the reviews before coming here and even after reading all the 1 star reviews, I still wanted to give this place a try... let me tell you, I really wish I would have just listened to what I read. My full set was just awful. I'm not one to everrrrrrrr say if anything is wrong because I hate being mean or sounding snooting, so I try really hard to just love what I end up with. But this time, I couldn't just sit here. I got almond shape and my thumb was completely misshaped and I asked her, nicely, to please fix the shape and she literally filed the nail one time and told me nothing was wrong with it. Then, when she was doing the red French tip, she totally didn't go all the way down on the side of the nail and got nail polish all over my fingers. I asked her to clean it up and guess what... she didn't and said they were fine. Not to mention she was extremely rough. She would grab my hand and then throw down my other. And on the other hand, my sisters nails came out soooo amazing and beautiful. Her nail tech really took his time. They are clean and so beautiful. I believe her nail tech was named Kevin?. I am really saddened, my nails mean a lot to me and when I spend money getting them done I expect them to look at least half decent. If I'm being honest, I probably will never come back. Only with the exception that I get the same guy my sister got, Kevin. read more

I really liked this place. I got a classic mani and a deluxe pedi. The mani was super quick and cute, and the pedi was so relaxing with the sugar scrub and hot stone. My feet look so much better now. Not sure who my technician was but she was very sweet and helpful. It was pretty busy in there but I only had to wait for like 5 minutes to get seated. It was clean and updated in there and my tech wore a mask and gloves which was great! Will definitely be returning in the future! read more

Some of the recent reviews for this salon don't do it justice. I don't give it five stars just because it wasn't super fancy but it was cheerful and comfortable and Tammy did an excellent job giving me a full set and shellac pedicure with an Easter flair. I was just in town for a short trip and my nails were horrible so I needed some quick help. Tammy did an especially good shaping my nails into the perfect almond to compliment my hand size/shape. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back here if I was back in the neighborhood and needed some nail help. read more

Mel did such a great job! I came in self-conscious with bitten nails but she made me feel super comfortable which not everyone does! I only gave it 4 stars bc my appt was set for 10:50 but they didn't get me in until 11:20. It was a very nice place and they charge well. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. A sorry ass excuse of an eye brow wax I JUST GOT lmaooo she seriously couldn't figure out HOW I went back in to let her know this shit wasn't done correctly?? After going back in and I feeling like she just didn't know what she was doing or this was her first time and the anger that was built up inside of me because she still wasn't getting it right so for her sake I just left. Didn't ask for refund even though I clearly deserved it. Fucking horrible read more

*Update- not even 4hrs later & my middle finger nail is off... so upset :( * I reaaaally wanted to like this place, because a woman named Tina (I think she's the owner) was so sweet. Last week, I went in on Wednesday night & was seated after about 15min of waiting with no appt. which was great. I have naturally really short nails, so I asked for a full set. It was incredibly busy, which is why I think Tina worked quickly. She suggested that because I have short nails, that I use the pink powder for my overall nail. She told me the powder would last 2-3weeks & would be better for my nail. So I agreed. At first glance, the nails looked good. They were the length I wanted, a pretty pink. Then, I went to my car & immediately noticed little black hairs in my nails, bubbles in my nails & that some acrylic had seeped off the side a little. I let it be because I didn't want to bother her because they were so busy. So I went back three days later (because of the holiday) to get them fixed, because at that point the pink acrylic had started to chip. Tina was understanding & attempted to fix the nails. This was less than two days ago & the nails again have started to chip & feel loose again. Which again is a bummer because I really wanted to like this place, especially because I paid $50(tip included). So all in all, it has not been a full week, I've already had them fixed once, and they're still chipping and loosening up :/ read more

Day 9- ok so full disclosure, I used my teeth to peel the gel polish off the rest of my nails because I was curious what the lifting looked like- this means that my saliva could've made the lifting worse but whatever because its for science. In addition to poorly primed nail beds around the cuticle area, the acrylic product was spread too liberally and this is why that's bad- poorly prepped+acrylic overflow = lifting and eventual chipping around the nail. read more

French ombré! Tina did my nails and she was amazing! First time here and it was great! Also first time doing coffin nails and she told me I would good with them and I trusted her input and glad I did. I think the girl who did my pedi was BB? She is super thorough and sweet and did a great job. No complaints. Salon was clean. Atmosphere was nice. Their TVs worked and had good stuff on. I pay attention to that because sometimes I just wanna watch tv when getting my nails or toes done. Definitely found my new nail salon! read more
