I've always heard great things about Lucy's but I'm not a huge breakfast person so I've strayed away. I visited for the first time last week on a Friday around noon so that I could actually feel hungry. I was surprised by the crowd of people in the waiting/front area. It took us about 30 minutes to be seated after being told a 20-30 minute wait, so not bad. I was a little shocked by the wait, but figured it was a good sign that this place is a fan favorite. Once we were seated, the service was prompt. I quickly received my Bloody Mary, and my friend got a latte. The Bloody Mary was just their standard one, and I can't say it stood out but I also have nothing bad to say about it. I ordered the hot honey chicken and waffles and my friend ordered an omelette. I either love chicken and waffles, or I hate them. Some places have flavorless chicken and dry waffles. These were hands down the BEST chicken and waffles I've ever had. The hot honey glazed over the crispy chicken provided a beautiful combination of flavors. The waffle was not dry and was honestly exploding with sweetness. If I could go back, I'd probably order with no kimchi as it sort of clashed with the flavors but I just pushed it to the side and it didn't affect the meal. My friend also said her omelette was one of the best omelettes she'd ever had. I guess I finally understand the hype around Lucy's. I've been planning my next visit for the chicken and waffles already. Overall, a very nice experience and a great atmosphere for breakfast / brunch. read more

We went on Mother's Day and it was super busy as we expected. The staff was so patient and prompt. The food is always amazing!

Finally got out to Lucy's to pick up my own takeout order. The location was larger than I expected and upon walking in, I was surprised to see a small bakery case that had croissants, muffins and other baked goods. As I waited for my food I checked in on Yelp and a free item popped up - I could choose anything from the bakery case so I chose a bacon and Swiss croissant - so good! Even though my order was ready about 15-20 minutes later than quoted, waiting with my free item and coffee that had been prepped on time, I couldn't really complain much. My wife and I were crushed to learn they stopped making they're amazing house made jam. The waitress was even sad it had been discontinued and management told her no one had complained. I can't believe it b/c they we're always worried about running out and had to sneak me more to take home with my leftovers. Great experiences here for brunch! Sundays are definitely the most loud and crowded here, but service is still always efficient and welcoming. Nice outdoor dining area as well. We drove 45 minutes just to have breakfast at Lucy's. As a veteran vegan I am used to combining random sides to make a meal...but Lucy's actually has vegan options noted on their menu! And they are sooo good (Avocado Toast, Vegan Scramble!). Quality and quantity were fantastic- value was pretty good too. Kid friendly. Had breakfast at Lucy's this morning, some hits and misses. Ordered the Lucy pie (bacon, egg, potato) the cafe salad as my side and an order of toast. Pie was dry, flavorless, and heavy, it was almost 100% potato inside an overcooked dense pastry crust. Salad would have been great except it came swimming in the dressing, and toast arrived cold. The ambience is nice, and the drink options were creative and had options to make them accessible to people with a variety of allergies. Parking is problematic and tight - there is an overflow option at the school across the street, but parking there would be tough on anyone with mobility issues. As an Essence Group Restaurant, Lucy's has a lot to match up to when considering Bistro, Grove, and Green Well. It does a great job fitting into the Creston area as a trendy breakfast spot (good portions, fair prices, delicious flavors) THE SCRAMBLED EGGS ARE SEASONED. Service at Essence Restaurants is usually impeccable and in my trips to Lucy's reflect that. Dinner is fantastic as well with a full bar (and a nice midwest pour) and the bolognese here is amazing too. I'd give a 4.5/5 if Yelp allowed me to, just short of a full 5 due to wanting a more expansive dinner menu but I'd imagine that will come with time! Go. To. Lucy's. The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything on the breakfast/brunch menu sounded so good, I had a hard time deciding what to get. They actually have a pretty extensive amount of things to order, compared to what I usually see at cafes. When you walk in, the right side is a little bakery/coffee bar. They have several bakery items to choose from, and a chalkboard full of drink items. The coffee is self serve from carafes. The restaurant is split into two sections (I'm not sure why). There is a decent amount of seating. However, we did have to wait about 30 minutes to get a table at noon on Saturday. We ordered the Steak and Eggs and also the Huevos Ranchero. Both were large portions, and were absolutely divine. The food was everything we could have dreamed of and totally worth the extra long wait to get it. Wow. I can't believe it's taken me this long to try Lucy's but I am incredibly glad I did!! My boyfriend and I went here for lunch this weekend and we were both blown away by how great the experience was! They have awesome outdoor seating that's so cute and perfect for a sunny day, however, inside is just as enjoyable. Everything is spaced out enough that it feels open and not crowded, and there's a little bakery at the front counter where you can buy baked goods! The hosts were extremely kind and got us seated right away, and even on the nicest day of the year so far, we would only have had to wait 15 minutes to sit outside (immediate seating inside though). The real star of the show here is the food. I honestly think my boyfriend's life was changed by the Creston Scramble lol he said it was the best meal he's ever had, and he is QUITE the food snob! (I'm a vegetarian and I even thought the corned beef looked awesome). I got the smoothie bowl and it was absolutely perfect. I'm not usually a huge coconut fan, but everything was fresh and portioned perfectly. We also got The Works Bloody Mary and it was one of my favorites I've ever had as well. Such a cute little spot. My husband and I ate here for lunch. I had the shrimp po boy. It was amazing. The Cajun aoli paired well with the pickled onions. Lucy's is so great!! I just had the chance to go for the first time this past weekend. Sunday at 11am we had about an hour wait for a table of 6: which I thought was very fair! They do allow you to join their waitlist online but we were having issues getting it to work so we just went in. Our waitress was fantastic. We ordered 5 Vietnamese coffees (I'm so sorry to the barista) which were amazing!!!! The table also got some mimosas which they were happy with. I got the Prosciutto grits which were SO good - and so filling. I ate about half my portion and took the other half home, and it reheated super good the next day too! Everyone loved everything they got at the table. The chicken and waffle dish looked amazing; that's on my short list to have next time. Lucy's made a special farewell brunch with friends really easy and really special. We will be back. I did not get any photos of the food. :( read more

We tried to stop at Lucy's last week for breakfast, but was met with a one hour wait. We didn't realize it was such a popular place! This week we made sure to join the waitlist before attempting to head over. After our suggested wait time, we showed up and we're seated right away on the cute patio. The only downside to the patio is how loud it gets when semi trucks fly past. Our waitress was very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Everything tasted amazing!
