We chose regular and they were good. For food we ordered a combo meal and the western omelette. Both meals we asked for hash browns and they were so crispy and delicious! All the food was seasoned well. The omelette was filled with all the vegetables and tons of bacon (opted out of ham). The pancakes were so soft and fluffy! The server was awesome and so welcoming. Wolfgang's has been on my list for a while since I've heard great things, but they were always busy when I tried going so I'm glad I was able to get a seat today! It was a 45 minute wait today but my friend and I found seats at the bar and got coffee while we waited and we were able to order our food shortly after. Our waiter, Drew, was amazing and knew my friend from being a regular. He checked in on us frequently and made sure our coffee was full while we waited on the food. Since they were pretty slammed, our food took some time to come out but it was worth the wait. I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken frittata that my friend recommended and the spread was beautiful and it was delicious. If you like sweet and savory, this is the perfect dish with chicken and veggies in jerk sauce on top of frittata eggs topped with cheese and pineapple. Yum! The portion size covered the whole plate so I have leftovers for tomorrow! My friend got the steak and eggs and her gf got the hash Benedict. They both have been here before and I see why they went back. I will also be back soon! Wolfgang's never disappoint. My husband and I eat here every time we're in the area for work. The restaurant is so consistently good and everything on the menu seems truly homemade. I got the Spinach Benedict and it was incredible. The English muffin was buttery and hollandaise was light and tangy. I got the half order and it was the perfect amount of food for me. The serves is really accommodating and while its usually very busy the space isn't too loud, since there are so many booths and rooms. I would absolutely recommend anyone checking it out. I really enjoy Wolfgang! It's probably the closest thing to an old-school diner that I know of in Grand Rapids. The food is decently priced for the portions you get. And it comes out pretty timely. However, I will say there's always a weight and you can't put your name down unless if you're actually there, so plan for that. Last time I went, my friends, and I got a huge spread of eggs, breakfast burrito, a hash, biscuits and gravy, and French toast. Weekday work brunch with arrival around 11 on a Tuesday. Atmosphere was busy, but there were plenty of tables available. We were greeted and seated immediately. The hazelnut coffee here is some of my favorite! And, I just had to try the Mahoney Cakes just due to the name. Overall they were decent with huge portions. Personally the cakes were done perfectly, but the inside filling wasn't sweet enough for me (my fault for ordering based on my name ). For the life of me, I cannot figure out why I haven't reviewed Wolfgang's earlier. True I haven't eaten here in a few years (out of sight, out of mind) but when I did today, memories of previous really good breakfasts came to me. After many year hiatus, I didn't notice any changes. Same really good food and service. I went back to an old favorite-Banana bread French Toast topped with strawberries and bananas along with crisp bacon that was nice and crisp but not burnt. Banana bread was very, very tasty. My wife enjoyed eggs (which she said were cooked perfectly) toast, hash browns and bacon. We need to keep Wolfgang's on our radar as this place is absolutely worth coming back to. read more

Just as good as I remembered! It's probably been 10 years since I last visited and it's still a wonderful breakfast choice! We arrive around 9am on a Friday morning and were quickly seated. Tables in the side dinning area near the kitchen is cozy (would be tight with 4 people). Choose the Hazelnut coffee - fresh and wonderful! Ordered 2 eggs and served 3, very crispy delicious hashbrowns with onions - spectacular! Bacon was just okay. Grateful the server double checked my toast then brought an order dry (they use butter - I have an allergy). Husband enjoyed his scrambled eggs and was thrilled with the Polish sausage! Breakfast quesadilla- loved this. The salsa is sooo good, not spicy. It is a THICK quesadilla. Blue crab Benedict- comes with egg whites mixed into the blue crab mixture and the person that ordered this really enjoyed it. They also got crispy hash browns with grilled onion. Necessary if you like crispy potatoes. There was an option to do diced potato too. This was an add on. Ron's skillet- loved the cinnamon bread. We had breakfast at Wolfgang's Restaurant. As we came in we were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcomed. Our waitress was helpful. She help us work through the menu making suggestions if what meal to try. She took a lot of time and was was patient with us. Again we felt welcomed. Our food came out to our table quickly. It was fresh and layered with flavors. Served to us hot. As we often to we share our meals with one another. Both meals were excellent. The coffee was hot. We were both happily content with what was served. My only negative thought that took their score to a four star. Was the building. It needs a little TLC like updating the old paneling and replacing the tables and boost. Also There also was a cold draft in the building. My wife kept her winter coat on the whole time and still couldn't seem to get warm. But hey, it's a place we will come back to again. We are often in Grand Rapids and this place will make our list. Wolfgang's keeps getting better and better. It's a down to earth place with great food, friendly staff, large portions and reasonable prices. I wished we lived closer because I could see myself easily becoming a regular here. So far I've tried a good amount of their menu and my tastes change based on my cravings. However, I can easily say all the stuff I've had has been fantastic. If you're wanting something savory, I'm a huge fan of the breakfast quesadilla, The Dewey, the sirracha crab Benedict, the Sanchez omelette is also a solid choice and looks so pretty when presented. If I'm craving sweet I absolutely adore their tiramisu pancakes and their cinnamon raisin French toast topped with fresh whipped cream. Drool worthy! I hate hazelnut coffee, for me, regular is the way to go. Kids menu is reasonable and plentiful with plenty of options. This place is def a neighborhood spot that is also kid friendly. The breakfast choices are pretty standard fare, but it is very well done. I ordered a mushroom, onion, and cheddar omelette with rye toast. The omelette was very fluffy, and stuffed with ample toppings. It was about 3/4" thick and filled half my plate! It definitely filled me up. I chased it with some iced coffee, perfect for a late spring morning. The coffee, while nothing fancy, was done well - not burnt or stale, but clearly freshly brewed. My service was friendly, prompt, and everything I could hope for. Prices were pretty normal for these days. While I wouldn't go out of my way for it, I will definitely come here again. While visiting family in the area, I heard good things about Wolfgang's and was impressed by the Yelp reviews. Loving local brunch spots when traveling, I was excited to give it a go just before the trek home. I had trouble determining if they were open for New Year's Day. No social media update, no Google update, no ability to make an online reservation for this day, and online carry-out order placing was closed. I tried calling a few times but it said the line was "unavailable." Just before giving up, I finally got through and was told they'd be open 'til 2:30pm. When we arrived, the place was a little busy. The ambiance/decor is like grandma's house, it's cozy. However, the hostess was quite frazzled, clearly in a bad mood, which doesn't set the precedence for a new-to-us restaurant very well, but we put our name in, got a text, and was told we'd have a table in 45 minutes or so when we got another text. There's not much of a waiting area (only about 4 people can stand in there without blocking staff) so we went out to the car to wait. Parking is limited but we found a street spot. Typically you have to pay to park here but it was free for the holiday. We had a table within 30 minutes. Our waitress was very sweet. We must have looked like locals because she expected us to order quickly but once we explained visiting from out of state, we no longer felt any type of rush. I tried to order a water with lemon but they don't have lemons, just lemon packets (??) so I got coffee. They have a half coffee/half hot cocoa drink but they were out of whipped cream (it's so simple to make from scratch whipped cream, it surprised me that they didn't just make more since several people tried to order this but didn't want it without whip). They also have their own signature coffee (not recommended by my waitress) and hazelnut coffee - under $3 for bottomless, great price. The recommended hazelnut coffee was decent (I didn't notice any hazelnut flavor) and they have almond milk as their only dairy substitute option, served in a little plastic cup with a lid. The food was somewhat of a let down. I was happy to be able to order half of an eggs Benedict dish so I could try that and something else. While the English muffin was perfectly toasted, the egg poached well, and the hollandaise deliciously slightly lemon-flavored, the Canadian bacon aka ham was so try and tough (like it had been cooked and re-cooked repeatedly), it was challenging even for my knife to cut through. The blueberry pancake (you can order just one) arrives with three little blueberries until you check the bottom then a-ha, blueberries galore (I'd recommend serving it upside down for this reason)! Unfortunately the batter was...rough; hard to explain but a tough texture. I only ate a couple bites with the luke-warm syrup, as did my husband with his plain pancakes; he was also not impressed (and we are not picky pancake folks). His toast was fine, pretty charred, and he said the eggs and sausage patties were good (he was happy that hot sauce was available). Our waitress got pretty busy as the time got closer to 2:00pm. They close at 2:30pm but turned the open sign off at 2:00pm. We paid and hit the road, deciding in unison that when we return to visit family here again, we don't need to come back. No shade whatsoever but this would be an excellent stop for the Restaurant Impossible show - a little expert help could take this place from "meh" to "great!" read more

This place is hot garbage. The one and only time I ever ate here, I got an eggs Benedict that sounded like it would have tomatoes and basil on it. What came out looked like someone had just DUMPED a can of tomato basil soup on top of an eggs Benedict. It was literally swimming in liquid. Now I drive by this place every weekend and see a line of people outside waiting to get in and ask myself why this town has such awful food culture that this horrid place attracts such a following. I guess I don't understand the hype because we had a very disappointing brunch here. We arrived around 11:10, there was a 45 minute wait, we finally get seated and its another 40 minutes until our food is brought out. Our server was nice but did not tell us that they ran out of English muffins and brought the Benedict's out on toast. I had the sriracha crab Benedict which was awful. The poached eggs were over cooked, the crab had a canned tuna taste; and it was like a baby food texture. Desperately needs some kind of bread underneath that crab mess. I took one bite and unfortunately sent it back. I asked for a breakfast burrito which was just ok. Everyone at the table agreed that the food was just ok and was not worth the long waits. This is a quaint little place near Blodgett hospital and definitely makes for a delightful breakfast after a busy shift. They serve your choice or regular coffee or hazelnut. I enjoyed the Vander Meer which is 3 over easy eggs served on hash browns, asparagus, Turkey sausage, and topped with hollandaise. My only issue is that the eggs were more over medium. Only one of them actually had a runny yolk. Otherwise it was actually pretty tasty. For quality gains 4 stars, freshness gains 5. Overall cleanliness gains 3 stars. There aren't any hand sanitizers around, not everyone (employees) wears a mask, and for this early in the morning the floor could use a broom. My waiter did a great job! His name is Josh and he definitely earned the 5 star rating in service. Ambiance is 5 stars. It has the feel they are aiming for. It's like a little slice of country in the middle of the city. Curious about all the hype, I finally tried this place on my second visit to Grand Rapids, and they delivered! The place is a casual, quaint spot in Eastown. They are busy, and lines are expected on weekends. However, the service is speedy. As a solo diner, I get to sit on the counter, just near the kitchen. Food continuously flies out of the window, and every single thing looks incredible. Great portions. Visually very appealing. Everything looks so good. Whether you're a sweet or savory person or everything else in between, they got you. Their burritos were humongous. The pancakes were massive, and they looked so fluffy. The French toast looks incredible. It was so fun looking at all the different dishes they brought out. I initially thought of getting the Sriracha Crab Benedict but went for the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Frittata Omelette instead. Maybe I'll try the Benedict next time. The Jamaican Jerk Frittata may not be the prettiest than other dishes, but it was SCRUMPTIOUS! It's sauteed chicken and vegetables in Jamaican sauce with pineapple on top of frittata-style eggs and cheddar. It's fragrant, tangy, slightly sweet, with a hint of spice. It hits the spot for brunch. It's very filling, too! It came with a choice of toast (I went with wheat), and even the bread was so tasty. For the portion, the price was excellent. Diner's Drive-inns and Dives should really get to Wolfgangs, but not to increase business. My gosh, I've waited knowing that the best in town (America) will soon let me into Breakfast Heaven!
