Hot sauce, I appreciate organic ketchup.

I love Michael! What a welcoming personality that is familiar with regulars. To me familiarity with regulars is paramount to one's business. The food was fantastic, service was spot on and I will definitely be back.

Went here for breakfast this morning and we absolutely loved our time here! To be honest the inside was much bigger than I expected and it was decorated in a cute way. The greeting when we arrived was so warm and friendly. I noticed the host was this way with everyone and I love a place that treats people so kindly. Even our server, Tom, was absolutely great and very kind. Looking over the menu before hand, I had mentally prepared to order one of the egg Benedict options but changed last minute to a comfort meal and tried their Corned Beef Hash. This plate was perfect with some corned beef hash, melted cheese, two poached eggs and the toast of your choosing. I enjoyed the English muffin toast and it came with some strawberry jelly. The plate hit the spot for me and I felt completely satisfied but not too full. My bf wanted to try the French toast but usually is a savory breakfast person so he got the Cherie Inn French Toast which gave you one piece of the toast with some eggs and either bacon or sausage. He loved it! We both tried the Mocha-Choca-Latta-Ya-Ya! Loved the abundance of whipped cream and the rich chocolate flavor! All around loved our experience this morning and woild 100% return! They had great service, decent prices, and yummy food!

Came here on a Saturday around 11am and had no wait for a table for 2! The interior is well decorated, almost Parisian-style; they market themselves as a European-style cafe. It's also much larger inside than expected from the outside! The staff are also so friendly and kind. We ordered the BLT (a lunch item), avocado toast (+ bacon), and the cranberry walnut french toast. The food was 4/5; the service and ambiance sas 5/5. My friend ordered the Mocha-Choco-Latte drink and it never came; but the waitress removed it from the bill AND still offered to make it to-go anyways, which is so nice. The french toast was subpar; the bread itself was great, but not the right type of bread for french toast. The avocado toast was really good; I loved the sweet chili sauce personally even though it's not commonly put on this dish. The microgreens and radishes were a nice touch too. I plan to come here again and try the crab cakes benedict since I think they are specialize in that!

Salad with beef tenderloin

I enjoyed my time in this cute little restaurant. I was a little bummed that there was only 1 salad option but I suppose it helped me to make my decision that much quicker. The naan that was served with it was fantastic. When I ordered beef tenderloin to go with the salad I was a bit surprised that I wasn't asked how I wanted it prepared but it's quite possible it's prepped ahead of time (it was good, by the way). I don't know that I would go back for lunch but they did have a nice variety of breakfast items that I might go back for. The atmosphere is quaint and it felt like a place for regulars to reunite in for sure.

Been my favorite brunch place for 10 years. Great food, classy ambiance, stable staff, and Michael is masterful. The best!

Best food, best ambiance, best waitstaff, and my favorite brunch spot in Grand Rapids. Michael, the owner, greets you at the door with warmth. Not your typical diner; a true fine dining experience. Long waits likely Sunday morning, but rubbing elbows with the locals while waiting is part of its charm.

I used to come here all the time and recently brought my daughter to enjoy the fun. It felt like walking into a Time Machine. The ambiance, the smells, the sounds - it was all exactly the same as it was nearly 20 years ago when I first visited. Tom was our extremely attentive and friendly server who kept the coffee full and brought us perfect recommendations. While parking can be a little bit of a challenge during their busy times, it is worth it to make is trip to one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots in town.

Only open 8am-2pm, closed Monday and Tuesday so you definitely have to pay attention to your schedule when you want to go here. There was plenty of street parking right out front that charged $2.00/hr. Easy to use. When we walked in a Yelp sticker was posted on the door. That made me smile. We were a table of four and two had already arrived and were seated. We just gave them their name. It was a cozy round table by the windows. The restaurant was quite and respectful while they ate. Felt like a vintage time in space where you could focus on the guests at your table, enjoy unique decor and fabulous food. Definitely a throw back in time. My husband had crab cakes, with poached eggs, and spinach. He said the eggs were cooked to perfection and the crab cakes were definitely homemade. Not store bought. I was interested in trying the soup. Could not make upy mind so I had both the mushroom and squash. Neither disappointed. My favorite the squash. It paid well with my Cherie CAB sandwich. There were so many options that looked amazing trying to pick a meal was like trying to pick a favorite star in the heavens. I definitely am going back. Granola blueberry cakes and cranberry walnut french toast are calling to me. Facility was dim but had lamps and windows for sunlight. It happened to be cloudy in this day but no worries still able to get around. The restaurant was clean, smelled good, a little older but it works for the space. Felt very comfortable and happy we went.

Cherie Inn has been one of my favorite breakfast spots since I've lived in Grand Rapids. It's Grand Rapids' longest running restaurant, first opened in 1924. They have historic menus framed on the walls near the Cherry Street entrance which are fun to browse as you wait. You'll likely have a wait especially on weekend mornings, but their system is pretty efficient even though they don't take reservations. There isn't a lot of room to wait inside, which can make things a bit cramped. I've only ever had a handful of breakfast items at Cherie Inn, because the eggs Florentine is one of the best breakfasts in town. It's eggs Benedict with tomato, spinach, melted Swiss, and poached eggs on an English muffin with hollandaise. I always get bacon too. They have special food features each weekend - usually two savory items and one or two sweet items. This visit, Nate got the spinach omelette and I got the eggs Florentine with bacon. We also got a short stack of pancakes to split. The eggs Florentine was perfection as usual, with runny yolks, rich hollandaise, lots of fresh spinach, and a perfectly toasted English muffin. The bacon is also incredible - thick cut and high quality. Nate really enjoyed the omelette, but unfortunately the pancakes were just okay, nothing special. They were a little gummy in texture. Service was a little lacking on our last visit, but they were super busy and there were several really large groups at the restaurant. It was also quite loud which made it tough to converse. However, I still love Cherie Inn and rank it as one of my top spots for breakfast in the area.

Second visit today - We absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the service is exceptional. After meeting the owner today, we learned so many employees have been there for many years! This makes sense because the employees seem happy, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The best part: the food is phenomenal. They always have great specials and both times we have enjoyed dates here, the food was perfect!

My boyfriend and I stumbled in during happy hour and were happy to grab some cheap drinks, but the main event was the burger! The dirty martini was okay but I will definitely order something else next time as the olives just didn't hit for me. I'd just recommend a reservation if you are going on a weekend or don't want to wait/sit at the bar!

When we walked in the restaurant was bustling and packed, but we got seated right away by the door which was cool because we could people watch. Our server greeted us immediately and filled our glasses with water. She was nice and answered all of our questions. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with my brunch choices which were the soup of the day, a lentil curry, pumpkin seed combo with tons of good seasoning and cilantro on top...it was soooo good and vegan friendly! For my entree I got the tofu sandwich with the most amazing side salad that had this lemon dressing that set it off right! I could have just had a plate of the salad! Although the tofu sandwich was good, it was a bit on the salty side for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place for vegan options and I'd come back. It was a 45 minute wait today but my friend and I found seats at the bar and got coffee while we waited and we were able to order our food shortly after. Our waiter, Drew, was amazing and knew my friend from being a regular. He checked in on us frequently and made sure our coffee was full while we waited on the food. Since they were pretty slammed, our food took some time to come out but it was worth the wait. I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken frittata that my friend recommended and the spread was beautiful and it was delicious. If you like sweet and savory, this is the perfect dish with chicken and veggies in jerk sauce on top of frittata eggs topped with cheese and pineapple. Yum! The portion size covered the whole plate so I have leftovers for tomorrow! My friend got the steak and eggs and her gf got the hash Benedict. They both have been here before and I see why they went back. I will also be back soon! Other things to note is they have a shared parking lot so this is helpful if you don't want to do street parking. Also I would describe the ambiance as a higher-end diner with great service!

So when my family and I were walking around downtown Grand Rapids and needed a place to eat breakfast, we popped into Social Misfits because their menu is basically 90% waffles. My kids love waffles. Every kid loves waffles. Waffles it is! This is a great restaurant for families (because ... waffles), but also a great restaurant for adults because they have a nice selection of creative cocktails in the evening, and coffee in the morning. Social Misfits is basically waffles, alcohol and caffeine, in that order. When we visited in the morning, the adults opted for coffee (really great black coffee!) and the kids both opted for the Little Lad, a waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries and chantilly cream (basically whipped cream, but a little sweeter and whipped a little longer). Both of my children ate most of their waffle, which is a big thing, considering they usually eat like birds. We also got the Son of a Biscuit, which was a garlic parmesan waffle topped with chicken sausage gravy and a fried egg. You could add fried chicken to the mix for an extra $6 (we did not). This one was fine, but the egg was way overcooked! Oh well. Lastly: We got the Ol' Blue Eyes, a waffle topped with blueberry compote, lemon curd, whipped ricotta and graham cracker crumbs. This one tasted amazing, but there was so much blueberry compote and lemon curd that it made the waffle a bit soggy. I think the chef was feeling generous with the toppings, but homie needed to hold back a tad. Sometimes, a little bit goes a long way! Fifty percent less gloppy stuff would have made this waffle dish 100% better. If you ain't really about that waffle life, then not to worry. Social Misfits also has a few "not waffles" items on the menu, like salads, sandwiches and a couple of bar snacks. But I think if you visit this restaurant, you need to just embrace waffles. There are more than a dozen different waffles on the menu. They're all fun and well-thought-out. Pick one and eat waffles for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Honestly it was an incredible location for a space and had such a great vibe inside. My best friend is a regular at the restaurant and we're hoping to see them more in smaller capacities like when we saw them at the Fulton St. Market. Overall, the food was really good. I like the concept of fast-casual dining without the need to have a server. I think it allows things to feel more casual and allowed for me to be more willing to eat there (obviously in other circumstances lol). I got the horchata hot cakes with some of the papas with ghost sauce. I thought the pancakes were GREAT and more than worth it for the price. I was surprised how large and fluffy they were. The flavor was great without being too sweet and none of the flavors being too overpowering. My friends got the breakfast sandwiches and chaichata drinks and absolutely loved them. Different from the last time I was here but we were told to find a seat upon entering and that when we were ready, we could order our food at the counter. I looked over their menu and found lots of good breakfast taco options, the breakfast burrito I have heard is great, but what really caught my attention was the biscuits and gravy. I was feeling quite ravenous this morning and got the full order for $11 and a side of bacon. They had a table close to the entrance with extra menus, clean cups, water jugs, hot sauces, silverware and napkins. Seemed like a help-yourself vibe which I grabbed everything we would need for our meal. Our food was brought to us rather quickly and my bf ordered the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage. He told me it tasted so good and he loved that he could make his own tacos with his food. He let me try one of the hashbrown rounds and it was perfectly crispy! My biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were so fresh and the gravy had a really nice and comforting flavor to it. You could get chorizo and mushrooms in your gravy but i went with a traditional sausage for my protein. My bacon on the side came in a tiny dish but I ate all four pieces haha. Once we finished, there were some bus bins under the same table with the silverware, we placed all our dirty dishes there and cleaned up after ourselves before leaving. I honestly felt so content leaving there and can't wait to return. I really appreciate the ambiance in there with the beautiful plant life, the lights on the ceiling, and cool decor in general. The staff was also SO NICE! Wins everywhere. I also noticed people coming in for takeout which is good to know in case I don't feel like dining in some morning. Please check this place out sometime if you're in the mood for some really good breakfast that doesn't break your bank account.
