This is the place I think of when I'm craving a burger. It may say Buster Burger on the menu, but I've always known it as the Mill City burger, just tell them that's what you want. This is the burger I believe all others should be measured against. It's the best most well balanced burger I've ever had and crave when it's time for a burger. Each bite is a beautiful balance. They dice the onions and the pickles, so no bite is interrupted, by your onion falling apart or an over amount of pickle. I've driven over 1100 miles and 16 hours for this burger and will do it again. Make sure to come hungry when ordering or at least bring a friend to share. The burger arrives on an 8 or 9 inch roll, it's the size of a small pizza, but for $13 it's a deal even more so if you decide to split it. Back in the day they used to keep record of how many were consumed in a sitting and they can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was 2 1/2. Maybe you won't agree it's the best burger ever, but I'm sure you won't regret it. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. Many fresh baked goods for take home as well and they make really great breakfast and have daily specials also. If you live this close by consider adding this to your rotation of places to go. Four of us had lunch here after a round of golf nearby. What a great find!! I'd been here over a decade ago and the fun retro ambiance is still the same. The place was packed which speaks to the food and service! Jane was our server and she was great. We each had a different sandwich and all were delicious. I had the slim Jim, another the club on a pretzel bun, a third had the veggie wrap and also grilled turkey sandwich. All under $9!! Unbelievable!! They came with chips but fries were a $2.95 upcharge. They serve breakfast all day (until 3 closing) and the menu is extensive. We will be back after our next golf outing. read more

We were passing through on our way back home and saw this place had high ratings on Yelp. I couldn't help but wonder if the high ratings were due to the fact that the locals really have no other options when it comes to food and therefore consider this good. Don't get me wrong, the staff was very friendly and upbeat. But we were there for breakfast, and it took well over 40 minutes to get us some eggs, breakfast meat, toast, and a pancake. If the food had been delicious, I'd be less upset, but I could hardly eat much of my plate. The hashbrowns tasted old. The sausage had a weird taste. The eggs were ok. The toast was ok. Oh, and let me make it known that a cappuccino at this place is actually a vanilla hot chocolate. It is most definitely *not* a cappuccino and if you like drinking a pound of sugar with your coffee-like-drink, this is the one to order...with a dollop of sweet cream on top. Basically, if you're traveling through and looking for a great dive to stop in with high reviews, this won't fit the bill. I unfortunately would have been happier at iHop and they wouldn't have taken so long either most likely. read more

Looking forward to a small town cafe, I would highly recommend Interurban depot cafe as they are the staple in Marne, Michigan! Really cool atmosphere but food is pretty average. Biscuits and gravy tasted like it was canned. The atmosphere almost made up for the food.

This place is like going back in time, the decor is dated but it's fun looking at some of the old photos. There is a racetrack near so there is some local track memorabilia, the crowd seems mostly local and typically that is a good sign. The food was just ok and fit the environment, and the portions were generous and the prices were very modest. We were split on the "would we return question" with me being the one in doubt. I will leave it to you to chose, I typically look for unique, clean, friendly, with better than average food and I don't mind paying a little more for it. read more

Interurban Depot Cafe has a nice small town charm. The food is good, genuine basic cafe fare. And the prices are very reasonable. The staff is warm, friendly, it is the type of place where they take the time to ask you about your day. The desserts are nothing short of AMAZING! We visit often when we are traveling to and from Muskegon, or we will travel the extra few minutes to have lunch there instead of fighting traffic on Alpine. It is worth the short drive! read more

I like going on Fridays and ordering the all you can eat fish at lunch time. They get you in and out pretty quickly. The pop does have a strong well water type taste to it. I love well water and still think it tastes "off", so you may not like that. REALLY nice folks. My daughter ordered a giant burger there and it was the size of her entire plate. Lot's of cool nascar and old school decor hanging around the restaurant as you eat your food. Fun experience for sure. read more

We used to enjoy visiting this place which used to be known for great breakfasts. However after today's experience we will never return. The place is very dirty, we were all served with dirty dishes/silverware. The service was horrible. When we showed that our fork was dirty, the waitress literally grabbed another "unused" fork from another table that was currently being used by another customer and expected us to use it! The booster seat for my daughter was full of dirt/grime, we asked for their American fries with grilled onions (what they used to be known for) and we were served with deep-fried potatoes (way over done) with RAW onions piled on top. The waitress constantly forgot about us, there was dirt/dust everywhere and the carpet has not been cleaned in a long time. We didn't even eat our food, told the waitress that it was awful and it appeared this is a common issue as she quickly told us our meal was at "no charge" and didn't even act surprised or ask us why. If we never go back it will be too soon. My next call should be to the Health Department!!! read more
