This spot is amazing! Its a coffee shop and more that's open late. They have breakfast, lunch and flatbreads on the menu, plenty of food choices. The lunch options are only served from 11-4. Besides coffee, they have wine, beer, pop, and kambucha. I got the masala chai, which was nice and not overly sweet. For meal I got the hippie ki yay, and I enjoyed that flatbread, it is vegan. The spinach dip is also good but different than what you'd expect. It is not too creamy and has a little tangy taste. But I liked that a lot, so I enjoyed it. The ambiance is lively and energetic. There's a lot of seating available, and different types including a massive couch. It is noisy in there with everyone talking, but I dont think its too bad if you want to study there. They do have a stage where they have bands perform, they also have trivia nights. I hope to check out one of the trivia nights. There is a decent size parking lot in the back. This parking lot was filled on a Tuesday night, so its definitely a spot to go and check out. This is one of the best places I have been to in GR! Highly recommend it!! read more

This was a great surprise. The unique combination of many different features: variety of artwork, stage of live acts, a booth, high top and low tables, bet on tap, unique menu, great landscaping, really unique decor, cool merch. And the service was great. There is clearly something special going on here. People with heart, authenticity for something they love. I really like this place. It's a new favorite. We were on the SW of town and thought we would try someplace new. We will now find a reason to go here again. read more

I cant believe ive lived in Grand Rapids for over 3 years and am JUST going here. They have great coffee, breakfast items, and lunch items like flatbreads. We came in the morning and it was the perfect place to get some studying done. There is so much seating with couches, booths, tables and more. They also do some shows and mic nights here. Had a great afternoon with a friend doing homework! The WiFi and the drinks kept us going. we were able to find somewhere to sit with outlets to charge our computers. It was a nice lull while we did homework and chatted. A very welcoming environment. The drinks were tasty and strong! The matcha gin one was so great (even for someone who doesn't love matcha. The quesadilla was spicy but the house salt and pepper chips were a nice addition. There's currently construction on division but u can take Buchanan around to get to the back of the parking lot! This is absolutely one of my favorite coffee shops in grand rapids. You can't go wrong with any of their lattes. I have not had one bad experience here & I frequent here very often to get work done. I also like their kombuchas on draft and matcha latte. FYI!! Brix soda comes with one free refill and black coffee as well! As a medical student, I love a place with ample seating, good coffee & food, opens early and closes late, outlets, comfy seats and good vibes. This place checks out! Came here for a bachelorette party and had a lot of fun. Some of the girls didn't drink and this place had great alternatives. I even had two of the coffee options because they looked amazing! I also had their flatbread pizza which was delicious. The live music was great too (we pre-paid for the concert and had to give them our names/tickets at the door). It was kind of loud where we were seated but you can stand/move around if you need to. I know they don't have live music every night but would definitely recommend. I love the tree with the musical instruments! They have local art and products available for sale throughout the shop, and each artisan is highlighted with an accompanying bio placard, which I think is super cool. You can find things like yarn, candles, apparel, cards, and more. Getting a little shopping done while enjoying a tasty beverage or snack - sounds good to me! The menu is great as they have coffee drinks, non-coffee drinks, beer, wine, and food for lunch and dinner. The Stray is also a music/event venue so check their social media for event postings. I've only ever had lattes while I'm at The Stray, but they are delicious. There is varied seating, so you're sure to find a comfy spot to work or catch up with friends.
