Courtney Lynn is awesome ...the best server I've ever had for sure, so sweet and kind, the food was super tasty and the atmosphere is adorable!

Don't waste your time or money. The food was extremely disappointing. Hash browns were raw in the middle, the omelet was just a flat egg with the filling laid in the middle, toast was only toasted on one side, and the sausage gravy is out of a can. Coffee was burnt or very low quality dark roast and the bloody Mary was more ice than Mary. My daughters mac and cheese was equivalent to blue box and my wife's french toast was soggy at best. Love the idea of this restaurant but the execution is dismal. Charging $13 dollars for an omelet is great if the omelet is great. Service was terrible but i blame some of that on covid...it seemed like they were severely understaffed. We waited for over 45 minutes to get our food and were extremely disappointed.

This business has received an unfair wrap from it's neighbor because of the parking situation and that is sad. Both establishments are nice but the other establishment next to them doesn't own the other's land and wants to force that owner to let their guests park in their lot. Since a amicable agreement was not made the one business has a sign on their wall trashing this one, that is undignified and cruel. AUNT BELLE'S IS a lovely place to have breakfast and hopefully someday they will open up to do dinner. They also have a charming Antique Market attached so you can have fun shopping after your meal. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Remember, you can't just take another's freedom because you want to make more money for yourself.

Extremely slow and the food was not great. I'd rather not pay $15 for a sandwich made with square grocery store bread. Disappointing.

Our waitress was super kind and attentive, which honestly carried a lot of the experience. And I have to start with the highlight - the chai pistachio latte. Phenomenal. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet, the pistachio flavor hit, and easily my favorite part of the meal (also just aesthetic). Food-wise, it was a mix. I got the Gouda Breakfast Burger and I loved it - juicy, cheesy, stacked, and exactly what I needed (pregnant me was very happy ). I'd honestly come back just for that. My boyfriend got the Kickin Chicken Benedict, and while the jalapeño hollandaise had a really nice kick, the poached eggs were more "gel" than runny... which is a little disappointing for a brunch spot since that's kind of the main event. Other than that, my boyfriend said it was alright. We also did ask for extra crispy hashbrowns and... they definitely did not understand the assignment. More soft than crispy, which was a letdown too. We also tried the Peanut Butter Stuffed French Toast - good, but not super memorable. For two people, our total was over $80 (three entrees, two lattes, a coffee, and an orange juice), which felt a little high for the overall experience - but not unreasonable if everything hit a bit stronger. Overall, this place has some strong highlights (drinks, burger, and service), just needs a little more consistency across the board to really stand out.

The pancakes were cold, as if they had come straight out of the refrigerator. The potatoes were soggy and cold and tasted like nothing but oil- no seasoning at all. The sausage was so dry that even drinking water didn't help and you could hardly cut through it with a fork. The eggs were initially runny on the inside and dry on the outside, which raised enough food-safety concerns that my wife sent them back. When the replacement arrived, the eggs were completely overcooked and dry and rubbery. She didn't finish her meal, and the waitress never seemed to notice that anything was wrong. Overall, while my meal was fine, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food.

We stopped in on a work trip and needed someplace close by. Our server was dealing with a broken soda machine, half the menu not being available because the salmon was still curing as well as the steak or something? But, she was gracious and calm! I ordered the: * SMORGASBORD (grilled salmon, mixed greens, arugula, pickled beets, radish, whipped goat cheese, flax bread, herb vinaigrette) - supposed to be grilled salmon but they were out as mentioned so did grilled chicken. * POTATO WEDGES (salt and vinegar potato wedges, truffle aioli, scallion) - not very salt & vinegar-y but the wedges were cooked to perfection!

First time I had a dish called The Cook's Breakfast which was biscuits and gravy topped with corned beef hash , cheese and two eggs. Came back two days later with our friends and got the lemon blueberry French toast and some eggs with a side of bacon. Everything was perfectly cooked both times. The server was absolutely amazing as well!! Will definitely come here every time I'm in Rockford.

Breakfast at Evergreen Inn…read more This morning, in the spirit of liberty and breakfast carbs, I ventured out to the Evergreen Inn to celebrate the Fourth with a fork. Their specials board boasted a short stack paired with a choice of meat--how could I resist? I threw in a couple of scrambled eggs to round things out and waited for the fireworks (on my plate, that is). The pancakes arrived looking like golden perfection--fluffy, inviting, ready to be drenched. Unfortunately, the syrup rations were a bit...conservative. I wouldn't say stingy, but let's just say I had to request two more cups to give those cakes the celebration they deserved. The eggs? Fine. Serviceable. I suspect they started life in a carton, already liquefied and waiting for their destiny. The sausages were decent, the chocolate milk was nostalgic in all the right ways, and the cutlery had clearly survived a few wars of its own. And the ketchup--oh, the ketchup. A bottle proudly labeled "Fancy" does not make it so. If someone brought that stuff to a backyard BBQ, I'd stage a condiment coup and return with a bottle of Heinz. Now, let's talk ambiance. The place is *kind of* clean--clean-adjacent, clean-curious, but not quite committed to the title. Still, nothing alarming, just...comfortably lived-in. What it lacked in polish, the staff made up for in personality. The lone waitress holding down the fort was kind, attentive, and clearly doing the job of three people. Any service slip-ups? Forgiven on the spot. The bill came in a little higher than anticipated, especially for a daily special. But with few breakfast contenders in the area, Evergreen Inn knows it has the home-field advantage--and it's charging rent. Still, the pancakes alone were worth the visit. Just bring your own syrup--and maybe your own ketchup, too.
