Lucy's was pretty middle of the road to me. Even after joining the waitlist, we waited about 45 minutes for a table in a very cramped waiting area. The waitstaff was all very kind and friendly and helpful once we were seated, and I really liked the open kitchen vibe. I ordered their biscuit & bee and some scrambled eggs. The biscuit was delicious, but the truffle honey butter it was served with tasted a bit strange. I'd definitely just get a side biscuit with butter next time. My husband thought his meal was decent. We came to Lucy's with high hopes based on gf options as both my son & I have allergies. Unfortunately we all left with stomach aches and feeling icky. I'm guessing there's an abundance of seed oils used and lower quality products full of high fructose corn syrup (given they didn't have real syrup or jam options without). In addition to this we got to listen to whom I assume is the manager complain about people coming and not tipping and so the servers don't make enough sometimes and those people aren't welcome and on and on.. it was off putting to say the least. Visiting Grand Rapids & the place my hosts kept bringing up was Lucy's! I'm so glad they decided to bring me to this great place. We came here on a Saturday morning around 11:45 and for a party of 5 we only had to wait about 5 minutes, that's pretty great in my eyes!! It's hard to find a brunch spot on the weekend that's good and also doesn't have a 45+ minute wait. While waiting in the lobby if it were a long wait you could always order a coffee while you wait or a pastry to snack on. We ended up eating a "bacon roll" from the bakery at our table. It was an extremely delicious cinnamon roll topped with crispy bacon, a duo made in heaven! The menu is quite extensive and offers breakfast or lunch for their brunch seating. Tons of cocktails, appetizers, and great unique entree choices. I ended up ordering an alcoholic punch which came in the cutest pineapple glass- it was to die for and was extremely easy to suck down! For food, we started off with the bacon roll as mentioned previously but also the deviled eggs- highly recommend both. The deviled eggs had amazing pickled onions on top. For my main entree I went with the crab Rangoon grilled cheese & tomato bisque soup. Yes, you read that right. CRAB RANGOON GRILLED CHEESE, run- don't walk to order this entree. There was so much crab in this grilled cheese. The flavors worked so nicely together and the crab tasted extremely fresh. The soup was the perfect thing to dip with. I highly recommend coming to Lucy's for brunch, or heck I'd even try it for dinner. There's lots of space and the noise level was low. The coffee drinks were my least favorite of the meal. The Vietnamese coffee didn't seem to have any sweetened condensed milk and the sweetLucy was too sweet for my tastes and not much coffee flavor. The biscuit and truffle butter was also flaky and delicious with a nice umami flavor with the sweet. Yum. Their cinnamon roll was flaky and not overly sweet. Every dish we ate was wonderful! Let me just say.... Lucy's had the BEST breakfast. Customer service is always so great. This is only my second time going but everything is so consistent. This time i got the biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs. My partner got the byob breakfast and we got the bacon cinnamon roll to share. I got the espresso martini for a drink and i like my espresso martinis on the sweeter side so they allowed me to add vanilla syrup and my partner got the mule. I have 0 complaints. What an awesome place we stopped in for lunch and we were greeted by a warm friendly smile. Our waiter was I think she said her name peach was super friendly and very attentive. The food amazing I had the chicken salad sandwich it was one of the best I have ever eaten and my companion had the smashed burger. It was an impossible burger but he said it tasted delicious. The parking lot is small but there's parking up the side street. They have a bar for those who like to imbibe. I had a pistachio macchiatto, which was pleasantly recommended by a lady behind the counter...the counter that contained delicious looking baked goods. They have large cinnamon rolls. i've heard lucy's is great. unfortunately there is no menu posted online and i couldn't find any pictures but i did see some things i could get as a vegan based on other yelpers reviews. when we got to lucy's there was nothing vegan on the menu despite what i saw online. luckily i asked our server and she said the vegan skillet was still available (sans vegan gravy) though not on the menu anymore. there is also an avocado toast i could have gotten with no egg but that's no fun. i got the skillet with vegan sausage and it was just okay. it was dry since they no longer have the gravy so i added lots of salt, pepper, hot sauce, and ketchup. my mom got the creston scramble which looked so good. the corned beef was not from a can and the gravy and cheese combo looked great. i was super jealous. also the people next to us got this cinnamon roll topped with bacon that looked amazing. to say the least i was jealous and unsatisfied. it seems once upon a time lucy's had good vegan options but not anymore. so if you're vegan i'd skip. read more
