This little coffee shop/bakery in Ada is so cute! They just openend a new location in Forest Hills but the one in Ada was the first one. I love that the have seasonal coffee drinks, it makes me go in more often to try all the new ones! For Easter they had a Cadbury egg one and a peanut butter latte and I tried both and couldn't decide which one I liked more! You can't go wrong with any of their pastries, I've had the banana bread, carrot cake muffin, cherry lemon muffin, to name a few but they've all been delicious. Other staples for me: matcha latte, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, curry chicken salad, and kale salad. I just realized the kale salad is meant to be 3-4 servings which explains why it's so large! I usually eat most of it myself It comes with a sweet dressing. Kale, lots of walnuts and dried cherries (?), and a little too much Parmesan. We loved Nonna's Pantry! We visited Grand Rapids for several weeks and stopped in here with a friend who is local. It was so good we came back twice! The quiche is so fluffy and delicate. The soups are delicious and the Pasta we got to go. Everything here is just really lovely. We enjoyed our lunches here, and the daily specials were so fun to look forward to. Always lots of fun flavor combinations and perfectly matched to the season. The workers were also very friendly and helpful with offering suggestions. Grabbed some food to go and that was chicken soup, spring salad and a Caesar salad for lunch. First Lunch: Chicken noodle soup - a 5. oh man.. now that is good soup. I needed to add some extra salt but not gonna bring down the score for that - to me that's a preference thing. Spring salad - a 5. Phenomenal salad. Had goat cheese, radish, egg, spinach, snap peas, and a amazing dressing - tasted like basil. I'm coming back just for this salad. Caesar salad - a 5. dressing is soooo good. The salad in general was great. Always love big slices of parm on a Caesar. Pecan pie bars - a 5. A great way to top off lunch. Just pure goodness. We also grabbed dinner which was meatloaf, crispy feta potatoes, Shepard's pie and farro salad. Meatloaf - a 5. Pure delicious. Can't say enough good things about it. Shepard's pie - a 5. All of it was stellar. The mashed potatoes on top w the melted cheese was creamy and the right flavor. The meat w vegetables was flavorful too. Definitely getting this again. Crispy feta potatoes - a 4. But not sure I'd get these again. Needed some salt. Still good though. Farro salad - a 5. A wonderfully refreshing flavor. Definitely will get this again. There can be a short line during peak times, but lots of fun pantry items for sale to look at while you wait. Small simple menu, I haven't found too many vegetarian items and would like to see more in addition to more combo item deals like soup and sandwich/salad. Coffee and dessert. You get me. Plenty of street parking in the area. Located in cute village of Ada. I REALLY like Nonnas but I find it a overpriced for what you get (and small portion size). Maybe because it is located in Ada?? A beautiful little gem in downtown Ada-definitely my go-to Barnett, cafe, and study spot in Ada! The pastries are consistently artisan baked goods. Although they're a bit pricey, the quality is definitely reflected in the quality of the food you get. Some of my favorites are the strawberry coffee cake (al the coffee cakes, really), the lemon poppyseed muffin, the chocolate chip pumpkin muffin (very filling and a bit dense), and the cranberry almond scone (a surprisingly good scone, with strong almond flavor, a great flaky texture, and cranberry bursts of flavor on the backdrop of a subtly sweet scone. Bakery items change daily, so there's always something new to try at Nonna's! The drinks selection at Nonna's is also quite nice--although I'm not a huge coffee drinker, I have enjoyed their mocha and other lattes and their lavender lemonade (which I believe was a seasonal item last summer). The ambience of Nonna's is also great-a bright yet homey spot with lots of wooden tables and chairs and wooden paneling and floors. read more

We had some goodies to go to bring to a group of friends. The scone, muffins (chocolate chip & lemon poppy seed), and a cinnamon roll were our choices. We all loved everything and stuff was gone so fast. The chocolate chip muffin was my favorite and it was one of the best I've ever had. My wife loved the lemon muffin and my buddy ate the cinnamon roll faster than ever. I can't wait to stop in and try more of their options as well as their restaurant across the street. I love this little coffee shop/bakery in Ada that's Across the street from the trattoria. Best scones (sweet and savory) I've had in GR. Other delicious goodies - cinnamon rolls (huge with a healthy portion of frosting), pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, carrot cake, basil chicken salad. i go here at least once a week for a delicious latte and some treats. the m&m cookie is a spectacular treat, a breakfast treat i recommend is the pumpkin choco chip and banana choco chip muffins. the staff is the most kindhearted and friendly staff i've ever met. sometimes i go here everyday- it's just too good!!! their specialty lattes are amazing although i love a classic vanilla latte. the soup is amazing with a home made biscuit. on weekends it's hard to find a table, sure, but you can if you wait a few minutes! this place is a gem. the star is the breakfast buns that are on saturdays only. they serve them with their home made dill ranch... and it might be my favorite thing i've ever eaten. so simple but so good. make this your coffee spot! you won't be disappointed. everything on the menu is great and the people and ambiance are even better. love this place more then i can express. 100/10 read more

Nice little Cafe in downtown Ada - they have a limited food menu (soups, quiche, pre made salads) but have a decent amount of baked goods that are quite tasty. My wife quite enjoyed the latte she had, and the "Golden Heart" (a version of a Texas Sheet Cake style brownie) was a hit with the whole family. I am not a big breakfast person and I don't typically like driving out to Ada just for a meal however after hearing about Nona's for a month or so we figured it would be worth a drive. We headed out on a Saturday morning and from the moment we walked in we had a warm and homey experience. Our waitress was so friendly and was on the ball! She immediately took our drink order and brought us coffee. My wife had a cappuccino and it came out delicately made with a Leaf in the foam. They also had alcohol available for breakfast which is a plus. We really liked being able to see into the kitchen which was big, open and clean. For food we started with the granola and yogurt. Great fresh fruit, simple yogurt and home made granola . Light and tasty. We also had the beignet which was good but it came out almost like a plain muffin which wasn't really what we were expecting. For my main I had the curried chicken salad which was bursting with flavor and only $10 -- the chicken had been roasted that morning and tossed in hello curry before being put on a bed of greens. My wife had the cranberry walnut French toast. It was a huge hit. It had almost a walnut sugar crust on top that was just the right amount of crunchy savory and sweet. Overall prices were relatively low- and food quality was great! Will definitely be back. read more

Cozy, cute, and quaint little cafe in Ada Village. The place is super tiny and is starting to get crowded now...probably because I won't shut up about the place! ;) Despite the size factor, their food is really good. The menu is limited but the selection is of high quality. Everything is very fresh, many times "right out of the oven." Omelette and quiche were both wonderful. The biggest and most decadent star of the show is their baked French toast. It is sweet but oh sooooo good. Order to share...or not. :) Lattes and coffee were all great. Can get pricey if you order multiple things...and since everything is good here, it will be hard for you save money here. One thing to note, many times well after they open, even around 9:30 am, they don't have some of their menu items ready. Not a big deal since they were both on the way out of the oven, but still had to wait around 5 minutes extra since things were not done yet. But then you get the fresh factor. Not recommended if you are in a hurry trying to get food to go, but very nice if you have a lazy morning with a good book or a friend to catch up with. Overall you will be waiting a little bit longer when it gets busy. But thankfully they have plans to expand across the street, thus probably getting more help. Owner was super nice and gracious. This is my kind of place! Small, quaint, not overly crowded... I had the quiche with a side salad and a flavored san pellegrino. The quiche was the perfect consistency, both texture and flavor. I wish I had thought to ask for the salad dressing on the side, but it wasn't put on very heavily so it was still fine. My stepmom got the lentil soup, which was amazing! She apparently goes here almost every week. I definitely recommend this place for a quick brunch/lunch! read more

I had an apple juice to drink and they had a high chair for my son, which is always appreciated. We sat inside but there are tables outside too. I liked this place until my visit today when the staff allowed a customer who walked in after me to not wear a mask. The customer seemed to be a regular as about 5-6 members of the staff came out and greeted her by the name of Carol. Not a single one of them mentioned anything about her needing to wear a mask though. Also there were no social distancing practices put in place either. Super yum is all I can say! From the brown butter rice Krispy treats to any one of their delicious muffins, scones, soups, brownies or sandwiches- you really can't go wrong. Get there earlier in the day to ensure they don't sell out of favorites (like the gluten free cherry almond muffins - so good). Service always great and you can place special orders. Recently they've added fresh homemade linguini and fettuccine along with three excellent sauces - all are great. My mother and I were strolling thru Ada when we found ourselves walking into Nonna Café. The cafe had just been opened about two weeks prior by an older couple. The place is more of a coffee bar that serves a limited menu. They have a BEAUTIFUL espresso machine on the counter. I did not try a coffee drink, but definitely will be back to try one. The menu is written on a blackboard to the side, which is not visible when you first walk in. We came at about 12:45pm and the woman informed us they had run out of 3 of the 6 options. I had the bean tuscan soup with kale and squash. It was very quite tasty, much better than I was expecting. My mother had chicken salad. It was a huge serving and surprisingly good for chicken salad. Rather than being covered in mayo it had a nice balance of creaminess with a citrus flavor. It could have used a few more veggies or maybe walnuts, but it was very good. The setting in downtown Ada is very nice, and my mother and I enjoyed our meal right by a window, which was very pleasing. I hope this place is able to make it though, as many people walked in and were dissatisfied with the limited menu and walked out. They post their menu everyday on facebook, so you can see what they are serving each day before you head over there. All in all, I think it's a nice addition to Ada. read more

I've had lunch here twice now and it's been exceptional each time. The chef and owner knows the principles of using simple, fresh, high quality ingredients, and letting them shine. As the perfect example, I was taken aback by how good the side salad was that came with my Italian meatloaf. It had fresh ingredients, probably from the farmers market in the parking lot of The Community church, with a simple but outstanding vinaigrette. If you put that much care into a side salad, the mains will shine even more, and they do. The prices are really good, which completes the experience. Lunches usually run $6 or $7, so it's reasonable to go more often than for just a special occasion. read more

Been a few times. The lattes are really fantastic. There is a depth of flavor you can't find other places. A real treat. The baked goods seem uniformly good also. I would give the coffee and scones/muffins a 5. The rest of the menu-salads, pasta ect is sufficient but nothing special. There is limited seating and often a crowd--but isn't that a good sign in a restaurant? Yes they close at 4 and the kitchen closes before that, but there's plenty of places that are open 24/7--you go here for the quality, not convenience.The lattes are worth it. read more

My husband and I heard a new coffee place had opened near us so we checked it out right away. It was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the omelets and soy mocha's. Both were delicious. Reminded me of some of our bed and breakfast stays where the meals are all home cooked and made to order. They even make their own jam and jelly.
