Hands down one of the best pop up bakeries around! Everything I've had is incredible tasting! She is also the sweetest kindest human! Always love to support her:) If you're ever able to check out one of her pop ups, you won't regret it!

Finally caught this pop up bakery at the Chef Shack. So many great options, I bought 4 different things. The focaccia sandwich absolutely slapped. I would advise to eat it right away because it can get soggy with the amount of cheese in there. The financier was my favorite dessert but I could see how people would love the Ube banana pudding too. The pandan cookie was just okay for me but heard people saying the biscoff flavor was excellent. Excited to try one of the basque cheesecakes next time!

Coucou bakehouse is by far one of my favorite pop-ups. The ube banana pudding is SOOO GOOD! Every item we got has been a hit. Follow them on IG to view their pop-up menu and schedule.

I've been following Coucou Bakehouse for a while now, and I was so excited to finally catch one of their pop-ups while in town for the holiday weekend! I got there about an hour after opening and the cheesecake was already gone (!!!), but luckily I snagged the last slice of their yuzu blueberry basque cheesecake which was super delicious and not overly sweet. We also picked up a few of their cookies, but my favorite item we got was the mango custard tub. It was creamy, light, and the ginger crumble on top was perfect! I also tried the ube vanilla matcha (with oat milk), and not only was it super tasty, but there was no upcharge for oat milk (thanks for looking out for the lactose intolerant girlies). Can't wait to come back to try their focaccia and their cherry earl grey matcha next time! If you get the chance to catch them at a pop-up, definitely go! :-)

Coucou Bakehouse is a popup bakery operating in the Grand Rapids area. I have tried several of their pastries and treats now, first at a popup event at Good Judy's and most recently for a collaboration box they did with Sunday Bakeday. The items are beautifully made and delicious! The spread for the Good Judy's event was full with cakes, cookies, pastries, and more. We tried a slice of cake, a scone, a cookie, and a lemon bar. I love that they incorporate some Asian flavors like matcha. The Coucou Bakehouse/Sunday Bakeday box was so fun with each bakery providing two items. Coucou's items were a feta and za'atar bun and a mini pistachio, apricot and orange blossom cake. I always love a savory pastry, so the feta and za'atar bun was my favorite! Follow Coucou Bakehouse on Instagram to see where they are popping up next.

This pop-up bakery has been on my list to try for months, and it was so worth the 30-40 minute wait in the freezing cold! The girls who run this amazing small business rent the Chef Shack on Lake Dr once or twice a week for this pop-up. You have to check Instagram to know their exact dates, hours, and menu, since the menu somewhat rotates weekly/seasonally. I particularly made an effort to go today because the menu was extremely enticing to me. In general, I feel like all of their items sound delicious. I ordered the iced vanilla ube matcha latte with oat milk, the hot honey ricotta pizza focaccia bread, dubai chocolate brownie, brown butter chocolate chip cookie, white chocolate miso pretzel cookie, and white chocolate ricotta blueberry muffin. for everything to cost around $35 is actually a really good deal in my opinion. If you went to an equivalent bakery in a bigger city like New York, this amount of food would probably cost at least double. The quality and attention to detail is aesthetic, but the flavors are top tier. This type of bakery is exactly what Grand Rapids needs to grow in its food scene! It made me happy to see both young and old people visiting this shop. I hope more people try to support this small business!

Honestly, I am not a huge sandwich person, but if I heard a sandwich shop is good, I'll try it. The sandwich was cut in half and had their Michigan Turkey, bacon, avocado, and other veggies that you can read in their menu. The turkey was really delicious - like, really, REALLY delicious. It was so flavorful and soft. And the veggies like avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce tasted so fresh. I got it with sourdough bread, which was really good. It was a bit tough to put the whole sandwich in your mouth because of the crusty crusts (lol), so I just resorted to eating it with a fork and a knife (very proper). The food came out rather quickly, and the service was very sweet, friendly and down to earth. Ambience was great! Casual and friendly. There is street parking - usually, it's not too difficult to find parking around this area. But maybe I just get lucky, I don't know. If it's a good day, you can walk around and enjoy the scene with the river and park!
