GF Sourdough bread loaf and Sourdough Cinnamon Roll
    Pete A.

Don't skip this amazing bakery in the downtown Grand Rapids market. Their sourdough cinnamon rolls are hearty, super "cinnamony", and have just the right amount of sweetness to not be too sweet. They're fantastic! We also gave their GF sourdough bread a go and brought home a loaf. It's so good, I really wish we didn't live 2 hours away because this would be our everyday go-to. Best GF bread we've ever had! The folks working there (assuming they were the owners?) were amazing as well. Very kind, patient, and helpful. An overall great experience and product.

I have now been to this location a few times. Every time we visit town we have breakfast/brunch at this spot. There is street meter parking - so parking is easy and never an issue. They have tables set outside and inside for seating. The ordering is straightforward and the staff are super friendly. I've never had a bad menu item. Their pastries are fresh and delicious and i love the chocolate croissant and have also enjoyed the macaroons before. The lattes are also yummy and they have a variety of different flavorings to spruce it up. My favorite item on the menu would have to be the breakfast burrito - the black beans, cheese and potatoes make it more filling and the spiced yogurt underneath and ancho sauce on top make it even more tastier.

Great local bakery located in side Market Place. My tip is to try the samples before ordering bread with many options it helps you decide what you like.

    Franken loaf so yummy!!

First time buying bread from A bakery in michigan and I had lots of questions. The smell of the bakery reminded me of the streets of France in the morning. I ended up buying the Franken bread which was a mix of all the leftover bread prices to form a loaf. It was tasty as can be! Can't wait to come back for more!! Enjoy the sunshine, Jennah

I rarely give my opinion based on one product but their croissants are that good! The ham and cheese is my favorite for breakfast. The ham is thick enough to feel substantial. I also had the almond and blueberry cheese. Really you can't go wrong, plus after reading my review you can click for the Yelp coupon to get two for six bucks. They also have an array of breads, but that will be my next stop...

YAY! I finally found a bakery that makes kouign amann! It's a French pastry that is rarely made (it's labor intensive I think), so when I travel I look to see if I can find it at local bakeries. It was super delicious - light with carmelized sugar. My only critique is that the carmelization was a tad overdone (to where the sugar started to burn), but it's still delicious! We also had a baguette - soft and amazing! NOTE: this location is located inside a huge building/market filled with other restaurants, grocers, etc. We were visiting fm out of town and didn't realize - not a huge deal, just giving a heads up as it was a little difficult to find. Keep an eye out for Slow's BBQ - it's the same building. Also, if you're just going to the bakery, there is a free 15 minute parking spot on the corner, which was perfect. Update: Returned a month later - the kouign amann was perfection! I'm going to come back here every time I'm in GR.

Bought a Frakenloaf, because seriously it's the cutest and coolest idea. Brought it back to Ann Arbor. I eat Zingerman's bread everyday - it's award winning good. This Frankenloaf puts it to shame. Seriously, best loaf of bread I have ever had, with the coolest name. My husband and mom both love it too. If I lived closer I'd get a Frankenloaf twice a week. I'll be back Field & Fire - sooner than later.

    Cruffin

Everything I've had from here has been really good. I've had multiple loaves of bread, all the different croissants, the apricot thing and a cruffin. Cruffin was amazing.

These are the little delish rolls of awesome with cheese.

I'm a repeat offender here! They have samples out...so anytime I'm in the Ionia Market...you will see me trying their fresh breads! They are a little bit expensive, but they are literally fresh out of a wood fired oven. Crazy awesome. They have these excellent little single serve breads with cheese in them up front, I can't recall the name but they look like little buns with cheese on top. TRY ONE! They are maybe $2 or $3 for one...but oh so worth it. A little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Other breads of note: Focaccia Sunflower I love those two and will always go back for them. Excellent with soups, salads, or just alone. My husband only likes white bread from Meijer (gag) so it's just me eating them. You can freeze them and they are still great later. If you do freeze and store them, slice them up before hand so its easier to eat later. If you want to try some artisan fresh breads, this is a good place to explore.

They have chocolates, bon bons, gelato, coffee drinks, and more. We ordered two of the cookie sandwiches, which we were told are made daily by a local pastry chef. The blueberry cookie was my favorite - it was soft and full of blueberries. The passionfruit one wasn't as flavorful. The buttercream frosting was super sweet, so we probably could have split one and been happy. I love that they have gelato flights! I didn't see any pricing posted for the treats when we visited, but the total was just over $10 for the two cookie sandwiches. They are handmade (vs. frozen and shipped in) so that makes sense. The employee helping us was super sweet and friendly, which I appreciated. The space is cute with ample seating to enjoy your treats, and they have an Instagrammable photo wall. I don't have a huge sweet tooth, so I don't see myself coming here too often, but it's a nice spot for a date or dessert.

I also had an organic mango juice, which was fresh (even though it came in a bottle) and really enjoyable.
