Baby's Gourmandise is located inside Grand Rapids Downtown Market, and it has some of the prettiest desserts in the whole joint. There were lots of pastries, but it looks like maybe cream puffs are the stars here. There were a few different flavors of cream puffs, including chocolate and even matcha. I'm not the biggest fan of choux pastries, though, so I didn't pick a cream puff. Instead, I got a pistachio creme brûlée! I love that first tap to break the hard, sugary crust. Underneath is smooth and creamy pistachio custard, just the slightest shade of light green. It was decadent but not too much! If I lived in Grand Rapids, Gaby's would be getting visits from me frequently. But as it is, I'm glad I discovered this little gem in the market.

Definitely would recommend this ice cream shop in the square.

Should have weighed it just to see how much the cup costs lolol. Lots of flavor and toppings options. Facility was clean and smelled like an ice cream shop should so I felt very comfortable selecting toppings. I chose cotton candy yogurt with gummy bears as a kicker. Total cost $5.35 definitely a place you could spend some money at if you are not careful. I plan on going back for another flavor combo next time I am in the area. The staff was youth and kind. Didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy.

This stuff is expensive but there's really no way for you to know how much you're going to be paying until your cup is weighed. This business model is so wild to me, yet it works. Nate and I stopped in to this location of the Pump House recently for a sweet treat. The bowls are huge, which makes you buy more! They also have cardboard dividers so you can separate your bowl and try up to three flavors, which is what I did. The options are extensive - I think they had at least 20 flavors of frozen yogurt. They also have hard scooped ice cream but I'm not sure if you can use the toppings bar on those choices. I tried the vanilla caramel swirl, mint, and mango raspberry sorbet. They have dairy free options which is nice. The toppings bar is bonkers - I've never seen so many options, ranging from sweet to salty to weird (hot cheetos anyone?). I typically go for the gummy candy but I wish I knew which toppings were the lightest! At 69 cents per ounce, we paid over $20 for our two cups. That's bananas to me, honestly, but I knew it would be pricey going in. The vanilla caramel was my least favorite of the frozen yogurt flavors - it was definitely very caramel-y flavored but I thought it was overpowering. The mint was really good and the sorbet was sour and refreshing. Definitely not a place I'll go regularly, but it's a fun place to check out occasionally.

The tea itself is consistently fresh, and you can really taste the quality in their milk teas. The brown sugar boba is especially good -- perfectly chewy with just the right amount of sweetness. The menu has a nice variety of flavors, from classic taro and matcha to fruit-based teas, so there's something for everyone. I also appreciate that you can customize sweetness and ice levels to get it just how you like it. The shop has a cute, cozy vibe that makes it a great place to hang out or catch up with friends. Service has always been friendly and fairly quick, even when it's busy. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that wait times can get a little long during peak hours, and seating can be limited. Still, it's absolutely worth the stop if you're craving quality boba in the area. I'll definitely keep coming back!

The chocolate ice cream was less smooth than I recall but that may have been due to the Twix addition. The add-ins seemed to make it all a little grainy in my flurry, but my wife's flurry didn't have that issue. There was also a notable difference in amounts given. Mine is pictured while my wife's was filled to the very brim. We ordered the same size. Normally I get a regular twist with sprinkles and I think I'll stick to that moving forward. Since we've been there before we knew to bring cash, but the gal behind us in line didn't know. It's a little inconvenient to be cash only, but it's their businesses choice. We usually don't go because they are a cash only ice cream shop, but we had some extra cash and decided to stop in. Service is limited to a window. The wait is very quick even when the line has a ton of people. There was about 20 people ahead of us, and it took about 5 mins to get to the window. The ice cream was very good. Their menu is so extensive that it makes it hard to choose what you want. I went with a chocolate malt shake. Our only complaint, is the same we have with most of the other places, and that is that they don't have dog size cones. We ordered the smallest cone and it was massive so we had to eat half it before giving it to our dogs. This place is on par to all the other ice cream shops in town so look no further if you live in the area, and have cash on hand.
