Dinner was very good. Older crowd than Good Luck. Not as crowded or hip. Brunch was okay, not awesome but not bad. Would go again for dinner

Great casual & relaxing atmosphere with great food and drink. They're open and serving food till 10pm at least 6 days a week Sunday 9pm despite what the yelp lists. Great people, food & drink!! Highly recommend Luckys!! read more

Great addition to the North Winton area. Now with COVID restrictions lessened, finally able to get my family to go. Great brunch beautiful menu that changes per what the chefs want to serve. So much better than the Wintonaire that had one of the most cuckoo bar scenes. The scene at Lucky is highly trendy but won't leave you traumatized. Will go back. They could do a little better with the fries read more

Nice local joint. Their menu is small but rotates often so every time I go there is something new to try. Last time I went I had a pizza with anise on it. Super interesting flavor and something I wouldn't have been able to try at another restaurant. I have also had a stuffed pepper previous and that was delicious as well. The atmosphere of their bar is laid back but upscale. I have gone here for a few date nights. During covid it hasn't been too busy which is also nice. Their drinks are spot on. I especially appreciated their pop up events, where you could order drinks by the street (a covid specific thing I imagine) but it was fun to pick up a spiked hot cocoa and walk around the area in the winter. read more

When I'm in Rochester this is my go to for great food and drinks. Best Old Fashion exer. Great service, great food.

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is even better. Every time I dine here I request Jack because he elevates the experience.

I really like Lucky's on Winton Road N. I am there at least once a month. My friend and I sit at the bar for drinks. We go early so the noise level isn't too much, and it does get quite loud at the bar during Happy Hour span. This does not effect the dining areas in my opinion. Great place for a casual meal with friends, attentive servers and reasonable wait time. The most important reason I frequent Lucky's to eat is because they can accommodate my severe food allergies! Lucky's uses beef fat for their fries- I'm in heaven. It is very rare to find an establishment that doesn't use vegetable oil! (This is also called SOY oil) Thank you, Lucky's! I have noticed that the food quality is slowly deteriorating over the pasty year, and this very sad because finding a great neighborhood restaurant/bar can be hard to find. I will continue to frequent Lucky's, but I've had to let my friends know about the food ahead of time. read more

I started trying to type out what happened to us the other night but honestly it'd be like a part time job. The food is bad. The service is worse. The space is awesome so the whole things a bummer. read more

Second time we've been in two weeks; the food is unique delish and plated perfectly! The staff was amazing and even recognized us (?), knew we were having a hard time hearing, without prompting turned the music down in our section, the waters were filled constantly by every server (not just ours) all in all it's a fav already. So happy we checked it out! You should too! #psdontlookatthechef #stinkeyesam read more

Food and service over all was very good, ordered oysters and calamari for appetizers and got a lamb kabobs from a business associate of the son in law as a thank you. Grand kids got burgers and hot dogs, kids got burgers and chicken, and me and the wife got salmon and rib eye steak and all came with great fries, fried in beef fat. Those were so good. I got the rib eye steak, rare of course as that is the only way to eat a steak, and we all got desert afterwords. Meals, appetizers, wine, and other drinks, the total with tip came to almost $400 with the steak being $70 of it.....It was by far one of the worst steaks I've ever had, slathered in some sauce. Any decent steak by itself only needs salt and grilled right, sauce is there to hide the taste. This I ate only half of, and then picked at everyone else's food. If you like your steak well done slathered in a sauce thats kind of A1 brown gravy with a cheese base you may like it. Now to be fair, I am a steak snob. Love steak, and love lamb. Both should only be eaten rare and really only need salt to complement, and the kabobs were really good. In fact I held back as I was expecting a great steak. And had I ordered the 18 dollar kabobs as a main course, I'd have given 5 stars but the steak really sucked. read more

Cool place. Nothing outstanding. Generic trendy food. Flavor components and build could be better.

Great place, MUCH better than what was there before. Server was great (I think his name was Jason, Aussie or Kiwi, I believe) attentive and not intrusive at all. Great food, great drink, great service. Recommend muchly! read more

I didn't get a chance to patronize this restaurant during the "normal" times (ie. Pre-Covid) but I knew I still really wanted to try them. The moment I had a need for a prepared meal, I opted for lucky's. They did a great job packaging everything for what turned out to be a makeshift picnic at Buckland Park. I ordered the burger and fries. The bun was very flavorful and cheese distribution was perfect. I also tried the kids menu grilled cheese, I'm an adult but #carbs. Rosemary sourdough was the star of the show. If I could adult this up a bit, I'd add a grainy mustard. But it's mild and size-able enough for two or three of your tots to share. The price was right for everything and my brief interaction with the staff was pleasant. I can't wait to try them for a dine-in meal soon! read more

Came here with a friend for my first visit to a restaurant since March. Service was excellent. Staff wore masks and gloves. Tables were spaced out inside and outside underneath the awning which provided lots of nice shade. Ordered a falafel salad which was fantastic and a glass of Riesling which was perfect on such a hot day. Their menu is small but offers something for all kinds of appetites. Looking forward to their fish fry and trying other new things from their menu. Highly recommend this place! read more

We went here on a whim and so glad we did. Limited menu but so delicious. It had an interesting atmosphere upstairs however the lightening could be improved a little. read more

Just had a great brunch at Lucky's! The pub burger was delicious: perfectly cooked, topped with zingy aged cheddar, and just the right amount of pickles/onions/sauce. The fries were shoestring style and super tasty. My company enjoyed their pancakes and full English, too. The Bloody Mary was memorably flavorful with a great kick and decent vodka pour! The only reason one star was lost is because the servers were a bit mixed up--we had one greet us, another come and tell us she'd be over in a minute to take care of us, and then the original server say she would in fact be the one serving us. Okay, not a huge deal, but then the second server stopped back at our table to jokingly apologize for the confusion. She meant well, and I don't want to seem cynical about it because I wasn't even mad, but it just wasn't necessary to interrupt our conversation another time--the mistake has been corrected, it's fine, moving on. Anyway, this minor mishap certainly will not stop us from returning to Lucky's. I'm excited to try them for dinner! read more

From the drinks, to the food, to the service, everything was SO enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the food was everything we hoped for. Definitely get the fries... they are delicious, even leftover! read more

Tonight was our third order from Lucky's, and I'm SOLD! I've had gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, curried chicken wings, and the smoked salmon tartine. All were delicious. Truly. The food was ready when picked up at curbside. I love that their take-out containers are paper and not plastic or styrofoam. Please patronize this new business that had the misfortune of starting up just as COVID-19 broke out. Lucky's? Whatever. The food and service are exemplary. Try it and keep them going! read more

My second time at Lucky's and my luck ran out. Very disappointing meals for our group of 4...hamburger was about the thickness of what you'd get at a fast food joint, chicken sandwich was ok but nothing special and the chicken and veggie "pasta" dishes were sorely lacking in taste. Great atmosphere and terrific waitress but food not worth the price. read more

It may feel like a sports bar, but in terms of flavor and quality, Lucky's might just be the best Rochester has to offer. Recommend the beluga lentils and the elote salad, but can't make a wrong choice at this hidden gem. read more

I was really pulling for this place to be good but the food just wasn't at the level of quality you would expect it to be especially given the price. I hope this restaurant doesn't give a bad reputation to others in the area. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND DO DRINKS ONLY HERE. read more

Atmosphere: The furniture feels a little old fashioned, but it's also in an old-fashioned neighborhood, some modern updates would be nice to see. Service: Waitress was attentive and friendly without being disruptive. Menu: Sweet, short, to the point and easy to navigate. Food: That's where the letdown begins. I ordered the Lamb Kebab as an appetizer. The Kebab came in the form of ground meat shaped around a skewer. No color aside from the multitude of black specks throughout the meat that reminded me of Chia seeds. The flavor was nonexistent, and they were served on a plate smothered in hummus, which, given the situating of the meat, was nigh impossible to dip into. What little I managed, required me to smush the entire thing into the plate, and even still, I couldn't taste any of the meat. After that, I had the Shrimp Crepe. On the menu, it was advertised as crab, but due to a lack of crab, they were offering shrimp as an alternative. I took this as a good sign due to the idea of some fresh shrimp. What I got was a pancake with no sweetness, just bread, on top of a bowl of corn, with a few mushrooms and shrimp mixed in. There was clearly supposed to be a sauce, but I couldn't taste it. The only thing I could taste were the mushrooms, which were plenty potent. Perhaps it was simply the items I ordered, but it also seemed as if the cook was allergic to salt, or any seasoning for that matter. For desert, I had the Tomato-Stone Fruit Tart, which honestly felt like eating a tomato out of a waffle cone, because that was all that could be tasted. Additional notes: I've not had Covid, so I am not suffering from the lack of taste symptom. Overall, great service, atmospher was nice, food was a bit... lackluster. Final notes: Yes I ate everything (I was hungry), and I'm certainly willing to come back, but I likely won't be ordering those items again read more

Love the brunch here! Also recently went for dinner and had the most amazing meatloaf on special. Everything they do is good.

I tried Lucky's for the first time last night with a recommendation from my wife. My overall opinion: it is a relaxed, local restaurant with a terrific menu and excellent mixed drink specials. The atmosphere is totally chill and a little loud, but it is not so loud that the volume takes away from the experience. It was busy and no tables were available so my wife and I were offered seats at the bar. We're typically not "seats at the bar" kind of people. Must say, it was perfect. The bartender was helpful with drink and food recommendations, had a great personality, and we watched as he mixed us two awesome drinks. Food was delivered quite promptly, despite how crowded it was and the presentation and taste lived up to the recommendation. I strongly suggest giving it a try some night. Even got to meet one of the the partner-owners. Nice guy. Great evening. Money well-spent. Will think very positively of this restaurant when I want to eat out again. read more

Intimate setting with an aesthetic bar. Service was top notch. The menu is on the smaller side but they have a different take on the cuisine with an English flare. The lamb appetizer was mouthwatering and the rarebit was also very tasty. Also tried the eggplant gnocchi and curried wings which were good but nothing to rave about. Looking forward to trying other items next visit. read more

Luckys used to be my favorite spot. I would beg my omni boyfriend to go here. We decided to go to Lucky's after a comedy show tonight. Everything was great....except they took the tofu on baguette off the menu. I have heard from vegans, non vegans, women, men.. EVERYONE ... we were all in agreement that the tofu on baguette was the best meal on the menu. I tried the new chick pea dinner. It was ok. Nothing I would be excited to eat again. Definitely will not be back until the tofu is back, unfortunately because Lucky's is 90% of the reason why I bought a house in the NW village. EXTREMELY disappointed. read more

Do not be fooled by the prices on their menu. I ordered an extra dirty martini with Titos vodka and it cost me $15...never in my life have I paid that much for a mediocre dirty martini, not even in NYC. Very upset they didn't offer a happy hour. Also, the bar area looked like it was missing tables and one bathroom stall had a broken latch while the other one was not cleaned whatsoever. read more

We went in for an early dinner at 5:00pm with our 19 year old daughter and 14 year old son. There were many open tables, instead of seating us in the main dining room, we were walked up stairs and told that we were being seated in the VIP room, lol. This room was small, very dark and empty. We needed to use our flashlights to read the menu. The Friday special had changed and was no longer available, which was a bummer because that item was why we chose that restaurant. We ended up getting 3 burgers and the steak. Food took a bit to arrive. In the meantime 2 older ladies were sat in this dark cave of a room with us as well as a family with 2 young children. I began to sense we had been profiled, aka not cool enough to sit in the main dining room. When the food came we could barely see it due to the continued darkness of the tiny VIP lol section. The steak was mostly fat and grizzle. Onion rings were one big fried mess . Burger buns were lackluster. As we crawled out of the dark hole of the VIP room at the end of the meal many of the tables downstairs were still empty. Not a great experience. read more

Great experience our first time at Luckys! I had the pub burger (with bacon) and my partner had the cod. Both were wonderfully seasoned!!!!!! We also had a few drinks. You MUST stop by. It's a great spot in the Village. read more

Excited to have this restaurant in the neighborhood! The spiced tofu baguette was amazing- very flavorful. Had the go vinnie go mocktail which was so delicious - I really hope they keep these mocktails as options even once they get a liquor license! Will definitely be going back! read more

Food menu was interesting, but very limited. Once ordered, took awhile to get our food. Food once it arrived was all very salty. Salad was eh, limited dressing selection and not enough. Trays food comes on we're cute though, bar will be cute one the liquor license comes through. Pricing was moderate for the location. Waitress' were nice though. Definitely potential, but need to work out a few opening kinks. read more

Burger and fries to go. They brought it out of the kitchen still hot, so I was surprised that the fries were lump and soggy, with some tasting as though they weren't really cooked through. The burger's fine, but there's nothing special about this burger and fries that merits a $16 price tag. I honestly wish I'd just gone to Bill Gray's. read more

Came for dinner with high expectations as my boyfriend and I both love to frequent the owners other restaurant (Good Luck). The menu was relatively small and very straightforward. We got the duck toast, brick roasted chicken, and the beer battered cod. the chicken was delicious (and huge we must've taken at least half of it home), and I'm not one for fish fry but the cod was crispy not soggy and the slaw it came with was crunchy and fresh. the fries are very similar to the ones they serve at Good Luck. The duck toast was my favorite part and seems to be very popular as we saw that coming out of the kitchen more than anything else. they don't have a dessert menu but do seem to have one or two offerings available every day. they had a creme brûlée when we went so we gave that a try and it was very good. all in all a great dinner. the place seemed to be getting very busy as we were leaving though and they don't take reservations so I would expect a wait if you're going after 6. read more

I had a delicious fish fry Friday night. The batter was incredibly light and crisp. The fries, Good Luck's signature ones, were perfect and plentiful. And the salad, not your typical cole slaw, was a mixture of fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots, and radishes, accompanied by tomato vinaigrette. Yum! read more

I was extremely disappointed I live in the neighborhood and was hoping this could be a new spot to frequent unfortunately I will never return the portions are extremely small the prices are extremely big I had the special which was a half rack of ribs which at most was 4 inches long and each rib was about 2 1/2 inches they were dry and tastelessThe rest of my party has a burger which I taste it I have had a much better burger at Wegmans burger bar and even a McDonald's quarter pounder was better our bill was over $100 with tip and I truly was insulted my advice go for a drink maybe but don't eat there read more

Disclaimer: I love to cook and eat healthy food, so I'm tough to please. I ordered the roasted eggplant, lentils, crispy Brussels sprouts, chevre, ras el hanout. The eggplant was the size of an extra small zucchini, and dried out. The few Brussel sprout leaves sprinkled on top were as dry as paper. The overall flavor with the lentils was nice. I was done with the dish in 4-5 bites, and ate my husband's leftovers, which were delicious. He had the Crispy Day Boat Cod with napa cabbage slaw, girbiche and fries. There was so much food he barely touched his fries. Bottom line: they haven't figured out who they are, but I did learned something new. Ras el hanout means "head of the shop" in Arabic and implies a mixture of the best spices the seller has to offer. Pretty heady stuff for a noisy bar/restaurant, and, yes I mean noisy. We arrived on a Saturday at 5pm and I asked for a table behind a wall away from the bar, but was told that they could not accommodate my request, and besides it was just as noisy. read more
