My husband and I were running errands recently and both decided that chicken livers sounded really good. They aren't something you see on the menu often and for that, I'm happy Lucky Wishbone exists. We've never been to this location but we were in the area, so we stopped. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. I got the 8 piece wing honey hot and let me tell you they were amazing, best honey hot wings I've had here in Arizona by far and the price is totally reasonable. The size of the wings was perfect. They offer fried steak fingers, chicken fingers, fried shrimp, fried fish, fried gizzards, fried liver, fried chicken, burgers (beef, chicken or fish). Some locations have wings. Fried chicken is really good. Food service a really good. Fast and friendly. You can call or order online for pick up. It's a place where you can eat in but most ppl order and take out. This location has the best customer service ever! We usually go to the location on the southside, but we happen to stop at this one and so happy we did! Renee, the new manager takes such pride in the store, and she's got the greatest smile and the warmest welcome! The ladies made the food to perfection, and we had the best time. This takeout spot has been a Tucson institution for years and rightly so. They know how to fry and that includes keeping the oil fresh and the smell acceptable. We had the shrimp, steak fingers, chicken giblets, and onion rings. All came with a mild all-purpose cocktail sauce. While I couldn't tell you what animal those fingers came from, they weren't bad. Everything else was really good. Have to go back for fried chicken, Cole slaw and more of those crispy onion rings. While there are a couple of small metal tables at which at least one group was eating, this is take-out food and deserves to go to the park or backyard for a picnic. All I can say is this is good old, unhealthy, deep fried food.....a I love it. Don't come here looking for healthy or not greasy. My father remembers them when they first opened and he still goes here, that says something!!!. Went here for lunch and it is all I remember and more. The cocktail sauce is amazing!! Lucky Wishbone has been a long time family favorite but we had never tried the Oracle location which has very limited seating-only 3 small tables and some chairs). I was always a fan of the chicken sandwich on garlic bread and though it isn't listed as an option, you can still get it (or a hamburger) when you request garlic bread. I had grilled chicken this time on garlic toast and it was tasty. The chicken was cooked nicely and the sauce gave it a nice flavor. The rest of the family enjoyed the meals they remembered. It's a place you go for the sake of fond memories but not necessarily to seek out. The ladies working there were very pleasant and helpful. When I arrived I order the Mom 4 piece chicken fingers which came with 1 piece of garlic toast, large fries, and 1 Lucky's sauce. Ever 3 piece meal, chicken wing (baby chick or pigeon?) dripping in grease, chicken leg broken in 3 places; was it road kill? And the breast, while tasty was drowning in salt. This is our first time eating here. We won a gift certificate at a raffle so we decided to try it. The Oracle location is very, very clean. tracy was very helpful with our selection. She also threw in a sample of the shrimp and steak fingers. All the food was very good, the customer service was outstanding not just with us but with all the customers we watched and definitely the cleanest place we have been to in a long time. Just not the same food I remember- greasy and filling, but not fulfilling. I used to really enjoy the Mom and my husband would get the Pop. Last time I was here, the only good thing was the coleslaw. Service has also gone downhill of late, not as friendly, not as fast. There's not much space to eat and both tables were dirty and we had to wait for the wait staff to come and clean. What is wrong with this place. Have loved Lucky Wishbone for years but lately they are just not good. Today was the last time we are getting food from there. Prices have gone up and serving size has gone down. Would not mind so much if they could get an order right. Today we ordered mom chicken fingers and steak fingers plus an extra sauce. My husband gets home with our food with only 2 sauces when he paid for an extra one. Last time he ordered the steak fingers and he got shrimp instead. I've been to several Lucky Wishbone locations and haven't had issues. This one was an exception. When the employee was filling my soda, the filter fell in the cup. Another employee then reached in the cup with her bare hands and pulled it out. Then they tried to serve me the soda they just stuck their hands in! I requested a new drink and left. When my husband called in the order in advance the guy had no customer service and was treating him as if it was a bother to answer the phone to take an order. We get if you guys were busy in the moment, but we are brand new customers and this was our first time ever eating at Lucky Wishbone. I'm a huge fan of Lucky Wishbone. The location on Campbell Avenue is, fortunately? unfortunately? far superior to this location. However, let me first sing the praises of Lucky Wishbone. This place has everything fried you could possibly want: chicken, fish, steak fingers, chicken fingers, shrimp. And the garlic toast-- there's nothing like it in all the world. Add on their Lucky Wishbone dipping sauce (is it cocktail sauce? what's in that mystery condiment?) and I'm in absolute heaven. Their fries are the best I've ever had-- ever-- they're crunchy, salty, perfect. The negatives for this location are no deal breaker, but I'd definitely prefer Campbell Ave.: 1) no cool ambiance. This place is in a strip mall. No outside tables either. 2) service falls short. Ridiculously long waits for fried food, only one cook on the line? 3) missing items from orders. Several orders ended up missing their drink or some other item. Mine, thankfully, was correct. Although I had to wait 20 minutes to get my hands on a Jr. Shrimp (3 pcs with fries, garlic toast, and dipping sauce for under $5) and a black cherry drink (YES!), it was well worth it. This is a Tucson staple. It's simple, yet pretty tasty. I will say that this place is the cleanest Lucky Wishbone I have ever been to. Even better, the kids in the back were scrubbing if they didn't have anything else to do. There are a few seats here and there, but because it is a little place, order carry out. The food is good, and hits the spot on a hot day. The steak fingers are good and really tender, and the onion rings are better. Their coleslaw is also pretty good.
