Awesome chicken sandwiches and burgers at one of my favorite spots in admo. My favorite is hot tiger chicken sandwich so crispy and we'll seasoned its hot but well paired and cool with the veggies. The bogan bun with big assortment of toppings like bacon jam and others. Was savory and sweet. Have to get an order of fries and delicious with either cajun or curry both are excellent this time we got curry. Has a big patio and inside seating. It has divy look that is perfect for when you want a burger. Service was very friendly and nice.
My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening and we did not wait long to be seated, we were meeting two other people who had not arrived yet and they did not mind seating us without them. The food was SO good! The burgers/sandwiches do not automatically come with fries, however, it is incredibly worth it to order them. We ordered a patty melt, a burger, an order of their cheese fries & a drink. My husband is not a cheese fries person usually but said that these were the best cheese fries he's ever had and later said this was his favorite place we ate on the whole trip! The drink was also tasty and strong! Would absolutely recommend!

My wife and I stopped here on our way out of town this past weekend and had a great experience. Everything from the food to the service was perfect. I went with the Bogan bun, which is essentially a smash burger, with their burger sauce, however on this one they also put on a bacon jam. The burger was perfect and ever bite had so much flavor. The buns they use are fluffy and delicious. They are perfect for holding together all the toppings and the juicy burger patties. I had the Cajun fries as my side and highly recommend them. They come with a vinegar aioli that went perfect with them. I usually go with ranch for my fries, but the vinegar aioli was such a unique sauce that I used more of that than I did their ranch. The ranch was good, but super dilly. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely be stopping back the next time we are in D.C.

The burgers were very good great combination of flavors. Service Waiter was very nice and attentive. 5 star service. Ambiance Had a trendy vibe. Greta place to go with friends or a date. Summary We stopped on a whim but turned out to be a lucky decision as we had a great meal.
It's a chill and casual place to have lunch. Everything was decent and exactly what you're looking for in a burger and chicken sandwich place. Would 100% recommend getting a burger over a chicken sandwich, just stronger flavors and a better melding on components in my opinion! Only get fries if you like steak fries, I thought the malt mayo was interesting but not my taste.
It was pretty cold the night me and some friends decided to go see a show. Lucky Buns was down the street. They had good reviews so it was a easy choice. Once inside it was nice and warm. We were greeted right away and seated. The server took our drink orders after he had explained all of their options. The lighting was low but not dark. The place has a laid back vibe to it. After our drinks came me and the guys were ready to order. Our server answered some questions and helped recommend a few items on the menu for us. I ordered and the Choppped Cheese and my one friend ordered the melt. My other 2 friends ordered the OG burger. The come came out pretty quick. I was so hungry after a long day and forgot to get enough pictures. The crew was very satisfied. The pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend giving them a try. They also have chicken options. I will be going back.

Before heading to the airport for our flight, we had a few hours to spare and decided to grab some lunch. My husband did a little research and found this burger spot. From start to finish, I have absolutely no negative feedback at all. 1. The Food Everything we ordered was completely divine! Here's the rundown: -Sandwiches: My husband got a Bogan Bun. My son a Mumbo Bun chicken sandwich and listen, he didn't speak a single word the entire meal because he was enjoying it so much! I ordered the Lucky Bun made with an Impossible patty. It was everything! Best I've had at a restaurant! In fact, my son, who loves beef burgers and claims he doesn't like plant based meat, ended up eating the rest of my burger! He tore that plant based meat DOWN! -Thick cut chips & Queso: The waiter let us know that their portion of fries (chips) could easily feed 3 to 4 people. He was not lying at all. The three of us shared one basket. I don't know if the sandwiches or the fries stole the show. These fries were seasoned to absolute perfection!!! SERIOUSLY! Not the typical sprinkle on top, but seasoned on every single side like someone picked up each fry and hand sprinkled each fry. Think I'm fibbing look at my pic. We ordered a side of queso for dipping and it was so good I wish I had some right now. If you're reading, hear me out Lucky Bun....add tortilla chips and queso to the menu please!!!! I would buy it just to scoop up that delicious cheese. -The Garlic Aioli: why am I highlighting a condiment???? Because!! lol!! It wasn't just standard mayo mixed with garlic powder. You could tell someone actually finely minced fresh garlic and herbs into it. It was so good I couldn't decide whether to dip my fries in the aioli or the queso! So that's why it's in my review! 2. Service The service was exceptional. There was no wait time at all. We walked straight in and were seated immediately. The food came out extremely fast which surprised us since we all ordered completely different proteins. They were speedy but all of our food arrived perfectly warm. The host, a slim gentleman, and our waitress, a lovely young lady rockin locs, were both incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. I'm telling you good service makes the food even better! 3. Restaurant Look and Seating The inside of the restaurant is fairly small, but they maximized the space with multiple tables and a full service bar. They also have outdoor dining and a front waiting area with outdoor furniture, which would be perfect for a nice summer day. You don't even have to ask me because you already know the answer. YES!!! The next time I am in DC, I will specifically make time to go there. Even if I'm not staying in the immediate area, I would gladly take an Uber just to eat here again and so will my family! Stepped into Lucky Buns DC recently (I have not been here for several months) and wow, what a meal! I went for the classic combo - a patty melt and fries - and both were absolutely on fire. The patty melt was perfectly cooked, juicy, and hit all the right spots, and those fries were crisp, seasoned just right, and seriously addictive. Service was great. Young bartender Noah with braids held it down. Young man was raised right! Go Commanders lol. Go Wizards! Restaurant was comfy, dark and chill. Inside and outside dining options. The mosquitoes aren't out yet so enjoy the patio. But honestly, the real star of the show, the one that truly stole my heart and taste buds, was the Antigua Bound drink. It was so good I had to get it twice! Seriously, this drink is a game-changer. It's got that perfect balance of refreshing and delicious that just makes you want to savor every sip. You know a drink is special when it outshines a stellar patty melt and fries, and the Antigua Bound definitely did that. Do yourself a favor and get to Lucky Buns DC (18th Street location) for some amazing food, and whatever you do, do NOT leave without trying the Antigua Bound. You'll thank me later! discovered this restaurant during a late night out in Adams Morgan. Even though they were close to closing, the food and service were still great. We tried a seasonal peach cider that was perfect for washing down their thick, juicy burgers. Definitely a neighborhood staple--I'll be back. read more

Parking: challenging as it is in the Wharf District Drinks: a full bar with everything you can think of and beautifully put together Food: we got the breaded chicken wings. Located right by the riverfront, it is an ideal location with a nice indoor space and patio. They are known for multiple types of burgers that are quite filling. Their Bogan burger was quite delicious, and my friend tried the Hot Tiger burger (which wasn't as spicy as she hoped). They provide thick-cut fries that are well-cooked and crispy and should be shared among 2 people. We tried the Irish Curry fries, which tasted more like a Japanese curry and I'm not sure where the Irish came from. They also have delicious drinks that aren't too sweet and pack a punch. We had the Huracan and Butlers Melagroni. We wish we had visited during Happy Hour (12-6, 11pm+) to enjoy a crush, but perhaps on a future visit. The service was subpar. We decided to sit on the patio, and while the food came out fast, for a non-busy night, our server rarely checked in on us, never provided water refills, and it was difficult to get their attention. read more

Everything about this place hits just right. From the ambiance to the food it just has great vibes. In my opinion this is one of the best burgers you can get in DC. It was just juicy, full of flavor and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. But more than the burgers, you need to try the Mumbo wings. Native to the DC area this flavor is certainly unique, but it's something I'm craving now that I'm not in the area. Additionally, this a small restaurant, so I would try getting here outside of rush hours. Go get the Mumbo! read more
Went out for a Friday night, and I have been craving burgers. We ended up here. The atmosphere is so relaxed and hyped up. We got seated and looked through the menu. For drinks we got: Four orange crush Two hurricanes They know how to make drinks here. I could taste the alcohol but it was not too heavy. My boyfriend was enjoying the orange crush so much that he just kept ordering. For food we got: Spicy Chicken Sandwich Bogan Burger Alfie Burger Braai Fries I understand that this place is known for their burgers, but that Chicken Sandwich was solid. Jmthe spice level was great for my boyfriend. He really enjoyed it more than the Alfie Burger he had. They have great service and awesome music playing. There is floor, bar, and outside seating. The recommendations that were given were very much appreciated. The chips and queso and cajun fries with a garlic ranch like dip were solid and good accompaniments to the meals. The El Jeffe burger was fantastic! Although pricey, it is a huge burger with 2 patties, pepper relish, and high quality standard burger toppings and veggies. The food is excellent (and really large portions), prices are reasonable (they also have great happy hour deals), and now that they have multiple locations, it's pretty easy to get a table even on a Friday night. After a bourbon tasting across the street at Jack Rose Dining Saloon, my friend and I walked into the original Lucky Buns inside what looks like a corner bar on a Thursday evening around 9 p.m. We got a table right away and within minutes, we were enjoying hot thick fries and burgers. The "Bogan Bun" was excellent if you like bacon. (It comes with bacon jam and bacon.) "Lucky sauce" is on most of their burgers and it makes it pop. It's been a long time since I visited Lucky Buns so I was curious if they still lived up to their reputation. I visited around 1 PM on Sunday and it wasn't very busy. They have a nice, mid-size, partially covered patio outside, which was a very pleasant spot to dine. I tried the Dirty Bird ($15, crispy fried chicken, shark sriracha hot sauce, lucky sauce, shrettuce, white onion, gordy's pickles) and the El Jefe ($16, double creekstone beef patties, american cheese, hatch green chili relish, cotija crema, yellow mustard, shrettuce, red onion, pickles). We decided not to have any drinks just as a break from alcohol. Normally, we would order fries ($8), but they are thick cut, which we despise. The sandwiches were both pretty good but not amazing. They looked gorgeous, just like how good sandwiches should look. The meat was cooked excellently in both cases, with a really excellent fry on the chicken. The toppings and sauces were all fresh and tasty. But overall, they tasted good but not quite as good as they looked. I felt like the flavors weren't very balanced from bite to bite. They needed a bit more sauce, or a bit more seasoning, or maybe brine the chicken first. The El Jefe didn't remind me of Mexican flavors, despite the ingredients. They were both a bit messy, as expected, and the waiter did well to bring over a few extra napkins without prompting. I'm sorry to say that Lucky Buns also charges a 4.9% fee which is *not* a gratuity and is also *not* mentioned on their website. The prices on the URL menu are also ~$1 more than the online menu. This is the highest non-gratuity fee I've seen anywhere and also the first I've seen missing from a website. Very disappointing. Lucky Buns needs to update their website ASAP and ideally remove the fee entirely. For transparency, here is the fee text: "Friends, things have been tough for our restaurant families. High inflation, rising wages and supply chain issues have continued beyond the pandemic creating a difficult operating environment. We have reluctantly chosen to implement a separate 4.9% fee for 2023 with the hope that it can be eliminated in the future as conditions improve. We appreciate your support and understanding. This fee is in leu of raising prices & is not a gratuity. Please tip your server accordingly! We love you all!" read more
