Diamond in the rough in Elko Nevada. Great Italian food, steaks and pasta. We thoroughly enjoyed the avocado and tomato caprese. Balsamic glaze on the salad was outstanding. My husband really liked the filet , perfectly cooked. I liked the Agio olio but would have liked the sundries tomatoes a little less chopped and some chicken would have been a nice addition. Great service, what would I do without open table and yelp? I would not have found this place . Great evening out in an unexpected location. read more

Went there for dinner last night with friends. The Rocky Mountain oysters were fabulous! Totally enjoyed the lobster/salmon and my hubby got the lamb shank and said it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend The Cab Cabernet-it was a perfect pairing with the "oysters". read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. Even with Covid they are amazing. The bartenders rock and the food is outstanding. We eat here often. We will always come back. read more

Came here for dinner last night stopping in Elko on a longer road trip - Yelp said it was closed on Mondays but it's not!! We shared the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer which was pretty good. I then had the duck with pappardelle and my husband had the salmon with risotto. The pasta was a little beyond al dente for my liking but the duck was cooked really well and the sauce was delicious. My husband's risotto was deliciously cheesy and he ate his salmon before I could try it. Also had the homemade tiramisu which was fantastic!!! Large portions, roomy space, very friendly service. Entrees we're pricey but alcohol was super cheap. For a smaller city in the middle of Nevada I wasn't wowed (except for the tiramisu) but was pleasantly surprised. read more

A gem in Elko! We stopped here for a night on our way to Utah, and asked the hotel staff about good places to eat. They suggested Luciano's, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant looks very traditional on the outside and inside. Once I opened the menu, I saw that they are trying to be creative. For starters, I had the avocado caprese. Everything was fresh and quite delicious. I also had the lump crab cakes: very flaky and full of crab. My husband had the lobster ravioli, and he said it was also delicious. The wine list was quite creative also. There were some standard items, but I noticed quite a few options for more adventurous wine drinkers. The prices were very reasonable. All in all, a very enjoyable meal! read more

I was on a road trip with a friend, and Elko happened to be the place where we wound up for dinner. I didn't really have high hopes for good food. I mean, Elko, right? Wrong. Luciano's was fantastic. I was startled to discover what a great place this is. The food was prepared very well, and was innovative. It was also abundant. The portions were quite large. I was thrilled. The only criticism was the oil that they served with the bread at the beginning of the meal. The balsamic was good, but they used an extra light olive oil that had almost no flavor at all. I understand the desire to have "light" foods, but using a light olive oil just kills the flavor. Understand, it didn't have "bad" flavor, it just didn't have flavor. Still, a minor concern in the face of how excellent everything else was. I don't know if I would drive for a day just to come here, but the next time I drive across northern Nevada, I will absolutely make a point of stopping in Elko for this gem of a restaurant. read more

Great food with good service. Very clean and received the food in a timely manner. The calamari was very well cooked and had no issues with servers or food. read more

It was okay. Coco was our server, she was very attentive. The food was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too salty. The noodles were like ramen noodles. Bad. Maybe this "Italian" food will pass in Elko, but not in a big city. We won't go back again. read more

Passing through Elko, we looked up the highest rated restaurant in town, and we came across Luciano's. Maybe our expectations were just too high from the yelp reviews, but the food was nearly inedible. Bread basket - cold and stale. Calamari - Okay, pretty average Caesar salad - the "high point" of the meal, perfectly dressed Entrees (seafood linguine and the shrimp & scallop pizzaiola) - Seafood in both dishes were decent. The scallops were good, but the shrimp was slightly undercooked. The low point was the pasta in both of our dishes. They had been so massively overcooked to the point that the pasta was actually falling apart. The penne was just a pile of pasta pieces swimming in a soup of sauce. The linguine was bloated and spongey, fell apart if you tried to pick it up with a fork. You would think an Italian restaurant known for it's pasta would be able to get the basics right. We're from NYC and used to overpriced food but this food is so painfully overpriced for the quality. The service was good though, great server & busboys! read more

We got stranded in Elko unexpectedly and were looking for a good restaurant. This came up and I'm so glad we tried it. Being Elko it is definitely not upscale but the food is excellent. I had a lemon drop which was fabulous... we ordered the avocado tomato caprice salad which was super Duper good. Our delightful waitress steered me to the salmon with lobster risotto which was to die for, but such a huge portion I brought at least half of it home. We shared the cannolis which were pretty good but not amazing. Prices were reasonable the service was excellent. All in all a great experience! read more

Just passing thru. Stopped in on a recommendation of a local friend and stopped in for dinner. Very friendly staff and great service. Hubby had the ribeye which was HUGE but he was very happy about it and took some leftover. I had lobster raviolis which was a much smaller portion but very rich ( in a good way). We were in and out quickly and back on the road. Fantastic meal. read more

Amazing and unexpected! Great filet! Would definitely recommend! The service was great and the poor waitress had the entire back room to take care of including a couple of larger tables. Probably pricey for Elko, but I felt they were reasonable especially after enjoying the food so much! read more

Very good restaurant with a variety of good, different dishes. Nothing too spicy here; a Sudtirol type of menu and some steaks and fish too.

Given the fact that Elko has a surfeit of steak houses, Mexican and Chinese restaurants and coffee shops, we really appreciate the eating establishments that are different. Luciano's is an excellent example of "different," combining Italian and continental foodstyles with chef Gerber's take on life and food. Lunch menus provide wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads or pastas (both full and half portion servings), and the dinner menu contains apps, salads and flatbreads, meat, seafood and vegetarian selections. Zoodles are available for those who don't want traditional pastas. Between us, we've tried just about everything on the menu, and we haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks, Luc & Erin, for bringing your delicious perspective to downtown Elko! read more

Excellent service, amazing food, had the salmon with lobster rissotto. What a meal for the price!

Excellent experience. We decided to cut our trip home in 1/2 and decided to stay in Elko. It just so happened to be our 21st wedding anniversary and so I looked up a restaurant with good reviews and this lived up to all the review expectations and then some! The service and food was most excellent. (Lobster Ravioli). Yum! The ambience is not the best for a romantic dinner, but we certainly made the best of it! To celebrate our anniversary our server comped us the most amazing cake I have ever had... Mango cake. We will definitely be back given the opportunity! read more

Really surprised to find this great little restaurant in Elko. My steak was excellent, and the side dishes and veggies were very good as well. My family enjoyed all of their meals. Definitely putting this on my list for the next time we're in town. read more

Best meal we've had in the 8 days we've been in NE Nevada! The surroundings are basic. Service, welcoming and prompt. In fact, the best service we've had anywhere out here We went for lunch where I think the majority of the menu items (except a few large entrees ) were $10 or less. There is a large selection of sandwiches, paninis & wraps- they all come with the choice of soup (butternut squash basil today), green salad or pesto fries. They also have a large selection of salads and focaccia pizzas. We had the Italian Melt- a panini with procuttio, salami, provolone, tomato &pesto. And the Smoked Turkey Cobb- with egg, pancetta, romaine, & cheese (they had no problem substituting mozz for gorgonzola as my bf prefers it), with the homemade balsamic dressing. Everything was terrific! And ALL this for $18? WOW!! I can see why another Yelper changed their itinerary to come back here. Wish it wasn't 100 miles from where we are staying. If you go to Elko and eat elsewhere, you're making a mistake. read more

Good food. They accomedate gluten alergy. We enjoyed lunch as well. Not a cheap Olive Garden menu. Chef prepared food. Friendly service.

We actually rearranged our itinerary so we would end-up in Elko on our way back from Yellowstone/Grand Tetons/Craters of the Moon road trip with our 4 kids. We told them it meant a really long car ride that day, but they insisted they could handle a 10+ drive, if it meant they got to go back to Luciano's. What a gem! They accommodated the special requests of a couple of the teenagers, and treated us so well. The last photo of this epic trip was taken at Luciano and everyone was happy. How could they not be? The food was wonderful and the service great. It was a great way to both start and end a trip! read more

We gad a great time. Excellent service. Get the Crab Cakes and the Avocado Caprese, both are great!

Great dinner spot in Elko that's not a casino, not a chain, and not a worn-out place surviving on its laurels of being a "good restaurant in a small town" I went there solo on the busiest night of the year (last night of the National Cowboy Gathering) and was quickly seated at the bar, as requested. "Act like you own the joint," said the woman who seemed to actually own the joint. Have eaten in most of the locally loved spots in Elko and throughout Northern Nevada, but this was my first time here and I will return on future visits. My pasta and Caprese salad and wine were all tasty and fresh and looked good, too. read more

The beef ravioli is fabulous!!! Great service. Nice little restaurant with handmade pastas. Recommend it to travelers or locals

A bit disappointed in our visit here. Group of 8 on our way home from Sturgis and we're in Elko looking for Italian food in town instead of the food in Casino at our hotel. Not many choices for Italian its Luciano's or Pizza Hut, pizza barn all pizza places. Now of our 8 meals only 2 people liked theirs and both were the pasta and shrimp dish. My wife's lasagna and my eggplant parmesan was probably the worst we have ever had. Other couple had spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna and she didn't even eat hers she said the noodles were so bad. Shared on Hubby's lasagna and neither one really cared for that. Salads were wilted and soggy and swimming in dressing. All in all not worthy of a 4+ rating. Must have been a bad night. We typically trust Yelp and have had great experiences over the years. Probably should have eaten at our hotel. read more

The servers were friendly and helpful. I ordered the duck over pasta. It came with bread and a salad to start. I ordered a glass of cab which was reasonably priced. The duck was okay, I wouldn't order it again. They were actually duck medallions over a pasta dish with red sauce. It was average at best, but the service was great and the wine was up to par. I would say I over paid for this meal by about 5-7 dollars. I was not disappointed but I was not "WOWed". If I was to go back I would order something different. There was a lobster ravioli that was recommended by the server when I sat and I think I would have rather tried that, knowing what I know now. read more

Almost forgot to write my review. This place is great. I rolled into town Elko, NV on a Tuesday night from Houston. They made me feel like I was home. Everything is fresh made to order and their marina is excellent. Artichoke ravioli was yummy. Nice chewy bread, wine what more could a guy ask for. I will be back. read more

The calamari that we ordered for an appetizer was light and tasty. We ordered the beef filet mignon Oscar and the Tasmanian salmon. Both were delicious. The filet came with creamy mashed potatoes and succulent crab with a sauce. The salmon was served with a basil Asiago risotto. Dessert consisted of sharing a tiramisu, which was only five dollars! The prices were fair, the service was good, and the food was excellent. read more

Sept 5, 2014 Luciano's in Elko, NV A little behind on writing reviews. My husband I had just arrived to town, and will be here until Dec, due to his work, we travel a lot thru CA and NV. This is the first place we decided to eat at, and we were pleasantly surprised at how lucky we were at picking this place. The atmosphere was nice, the service was great (thank you Tabrina) , and the food was delicious. No iceberg lettuce in our salad....lol...and that's a good thing! We left full...so much so that we did not try any desert, which we usually do. We over heard several people at different tables talking about how wonderful their meals were, wow.....and we concur .....lol We will be back! Need I say more..... read more

The food was great as well as service. Here in Elko it is rare to find good customer service. Food was great as well as the atmosphere. Only con is that it is very small and you can hear others private conversation without trying to. read more

Never expect anything in a town that's just a stopover on the 80, but this place was excellent and the service was good too. Don't let the outside fool you into not entering read more

We ate here twice on a spring break driving trip. Once on the way out of Nevada to Wyoming and once on the way back home to California. In Elko, Nevada this is an amazing gem with divine food. I enjoyed every generous course from bread with oil and vinegar, my cocktail hour, the amazing steak dinner (on our first visit) and the pasta dish (on my second visit). Both times we enjoyed amazing homemade Italian themed desserts too. The cost was as expected for the location and food, moderately priced and still fresh--certainly not overpriced but enough to allow for some good, quality food. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because the location is dicey with challenging parking. The staff were not exactly stellar but I would imagine it's likely the best of whoever is applying from Elko (a really economically challenged and isolated location in Nevada). read more

You will not be disappointed at this place. The food was out of this world. The service was great. The bread was tasty. The entrees have some special spins that we have not found elsewhere. I had the eggplant lasagna. It was outstanding. They had an assortment of other flavored lasagnas as well. Very unique and well worth the price. The wine selection was incredible. The spirit selection would please anyone. We had the blackberry tiramisu for dessert. Just wonderful. We might go back tomorrow! read more

Surprised at the high ratings. The olive oil for the bread at best is a low quality oil. The Chicken parmigiana was tasty however the pasta was very boring poorly cooked. Needs more seasoning. read more

Vegetarians in Elko. What were we going to eat? Luciano's was excellent in every way. My wife and I were going to order the eggplant Parmesan which we had heard in town was excellent. Our waitress suggested that we order one entree and share as the portion was large. Great suggestion which would have saved us money. Unfortunately, they were out of the eggplant and she suggested the Linguini Verdi and Luciano's Aglio e Olio, both of which we shared, and both were outstanding. With some key lime pie for dessert we had the best meal on our entire trip. Our waitress was excellent, the bar tender was prompt and brought drinks herself. Highly recommended. On a par with San Francisco in Elko, Nevada! read more

As usual i had a great meal at Luciano's. The only thing that was a bit off-putting was my table location (directly by the door to the kitchen), but that was to be somewhat expected since there was only two of us and every other table was occupied by larger parties. I ordered the lobster ravioli and was astounded by how delicious it was. This place is definitely a diamond in the rough! I just wish they had a larger location. read more

The food here is good. I don't have any complaints about it. I feel the price for what you get is way too high. That's the only thing I would change. read more

My all-time favorite restaurant in Elko, NV. The food speaks for itself. Every entree has a homemade feel to it. My favorite is the calamari appetizer but all the desserts are a close second. The owners are wonderful people as well. Enjoy! :) read more

If you're looking for amazing food and great service, this is the place to be. Whether you're craving lobster raviolis, lamb, or steak, you can't go wrong by going to Luciano's! Wasn't expecting much from an Italian restaurant in Elko but was pleasantly surprised. I had the salmon on a bed of pesto pasta. The salmon was perfectly and lightly cooked as I ordered, although pesto was a little bland but they gladly brought out parmesan cheese. Definitely would come back here. read more

We made reservations the through Open Table in the early afternoon for dinner that night and we were glad we did. A usually lite (Wednesday) night for them was hectic because there were 2 large groups that just walked in without a rez. We arrived after the groups did but we were seated within minutes because we did have reservations. Being staffed for a 'lite' night they were understaffed for the volume of clients, but we watched as they truly hustled, while smiling all the while. The kitchen provided sumptuous dishes and our plates arrived warm and in short order. Considering we were expecting everything to run slowly due to the volume of diners we were pleasantly surprised at the service we were receiving. The duck with paparadelle pasta had lots of big pieces of meat, all flavored with a duck/tomato sauce. The king salmon, cooked just right, over lobster risotto was also a healthy sized dish. Both were very tasty. We ordered a Seghesio Zinfandel from Sonoma, CA, which paired with our meals just right. In spite of their short staff and the big parties, they did a fantastic job caring for everyone in the dining room (~25 ppl per server at one seating!). The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, quick, friendly, happy and overall a joy to be around. That, plus the food makes this a place to return to when we are in the area. read more
