Lowells Famous Fish & Chips
Andrew Y.

The restaurant is three levels with one being a bar and another being the sit down portion. Service took a little bit, but they are quite busy so it's understandable. I ordered a cup of clam chowder ($10) as well as the fish and chips ($25). I also tried their mimosa and a Fuji apple cider. The cider was absolutely delicious and you can definitely taste the apple and for 8/9 dollars I think it was very good. The mimosa was $13 and it was quite strong but still bearable. The clam chowder was just OK. It wasn't anything special and living in the Bay Area, I have had clam chowder that was better. The fish and chips were also pretty good. Not the juiciest I've ever had, but I do like the outside breading being like a Panko breading rather than one smooth layer Overall, I would rate this place a 5.7/10. The restaurant has a good view. The food is all right. The drinks were good. I just don't think that they were worth the price. I don't think I would come again due to the value, but I would definitely try just to say I've been here

Basic clam chowder. Nothing spectacular and crab omelette did not satisfy. Needs more flavor.

Visiting from out of state & We passed by several times and it always had a line out waiting. Finally were able to stop in early on a Saturday morning but everything we ordered was meh. I think it's more of the experience to get a chance to eat but their flavor is allowed to be mid bc of where they are located. We ordered a crab omelet and cup of clam chowder. Clam chowder was basic, it was fine. Crab omelet had such a big lump of crab in it but nothing else. I think it would have been better if had sautéed veggies or something to give it a wow! It was a lump of crab mixture with egg. Neither of us liked. Hashbrowns were great ! We also ordered mimosas and Bloody Marys and they were fine too.

Came here for some clam chowder. Chowder was thick, creamy, well seasoned, and delicious. The view was great too. The cashier was a bit terse and unfriendly but the servers were great! Dont know if id be back but was a great cup of chowder with a view.

Great service, great views and good food. The calamari is melt in your mouth, the fries were rubber and I wanted to not have to eat the one I did. The crab cakes were meaty more than bread and the chowder was good, but could use more clams.

This was one of the few restaurants at pike place that was open fairly early on a Sunday. The employee at the entrance was friendly and gave us the rundown: order at the counter and if you dine in, sit on the first or third floor & your meal will be delivered to your table. The 2nd floor has a bar and table service. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder and their Dungeness crab Benedict at the counter and chose a table on the 3rd floor. Had a great view of the bay. Is this a tourist trap? Yes. Expensive? Yes. The chowder was ok, used a bit of Tabasco sauce to add some heat and flavor. The Benedict was served with toast and hash browns. It was just ok as well, definitely not worth the hefty $40 price tag.

DELISH fish n' chips, def comin' back for this again

Probably the best cooked fish I've ever had in a fish n' chips dish. it was melt-in-your-mouth, OMG. chowder was good too. view are great but most importantly, service was off the hook. front of house was also rockin' it. I'm not sure what's up w the negative reviews. these guys are BUSY & do an amazing job. would def return for the fish n' chips next time I'm in Seattle :)

Pike Place Fish Market was definitely on my Seattle bucket list! I knew I had to try some seafood for lunch. This place is huge, but we stumbled upon Lowell's. The clam chowder caught my eye. We ordered downstairs and headed up to the 3rd floor, hoping for a nice view. The stairs were a bit scary, with servers running up and down, balancing huge trays. We managed to snag the best table for two with a window seat. It took a while to get our food, but it was worth the wait. The Fish & Chips were fantastic--the fish was crunchy, tasty, and delicious. Portion good for two. The clam chowder was super creamy with a good amount of clams. The meal at Lowell's made for a wonderful day at Pike Place.

First time in Seattle and heard great things about this place so my family had to try it out. Love their policy on how you're not allowed to save tables. You have to order first and then the hostess directs you to seating on the first or third levels. The second level is a well stocked bar. We were seated on the third floor and had an amazing view of the Seattle Waterfront. When our plates arrived, they were very large portions. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. There are so many dishes to try we will definitely be back for more.

Great location right at Pike Market- ordering counter downstairs with some seating, but upstairs- that's table service with a view! We weren't sat at the window, we were one table in- but the views were lovely. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and John got the fish-n-chips. The clam chowder was good, but I have most certainly had better and right around the corner. The fish and chips were perfect. John and I shared everything and he agreed with my assessment. Service was fast and friendly. I can't remember if there was an elevator- but be careful on the stairs, the servers are carrying huge trays of food up- I yielded to them.

Great king salmon bagel and lox. Very friendly service that helped out. It was crowded but everything at pikes place is and this is a touristy stop. Beautiful views from the general seating.

Stopped by Lowell's Restaurant while at Pike Place and grabbed a table on the second floor--highly recommend doing that if you can. The view alone is worth it. The chowder was the perfect way to kick off our time in Seattle and the breakfast tacos were solid. Nothing overcomplicated, just good, satisfying food. The decor leans very maximalist--lots going on, but it works for the space and adds to the whole Pike Place energy. The staff was quick and efficient, very no-nonsense, which fits the pace of the atmosphere. Great spot to sit, eat, and take in the view while you're in the middle of everything.

We walked right in at 9am on a Saturday morning. The host at the front gave us the rundown on self seating upstairs and table service options. We decided on self serve and don't regret it. We were able to get a table on the top level right by the window looking out over Elliot Bay. It was a nice view while dining, but I will say the Washington State ferries provide an even better view for a fraction of the cost. Our food was brought quickly and nothing was missing. Now on to the not so great, before tip two meals (no drinks) came to $62. The combo breakfast was $23, but quickly jumped $9 when adding berries. Did I expect the berries to cost extra? Of course! But not $9 extra. The french toast had the barest hint of cinnamon flavor. I was expecting to be wowed for that price, but it was underwhelming overall. The bacon was very good. The second meal we picked was eggs Benedict. The sauce was made from scratch, so A+ for that, and the hash browns crispy. But all in all, just an average diner breakfast meal. I wouldn't come again at those prices. I'll spend premium money on exceptional food, this missed the mark. The $5 ham and Swiss croissant we had for breakfast from Three Girls Bakery yesterday was on par with this meal.

Lowell's was our must visit #1 spot on our list while visiting Seattle. At Pike's Place there's so much to see, taste, and to buy. We fortunately stumbled by Lowell's right from the elevator, just our luck! There was a line wrapped around but it moved pretty fast. The service was fast everything moved like a machine. Again we were lucky to also find a table for 6 at the bottom level since they are three. The food came out fast. A bit on the pricy side but you're paying for the view and eating at a tourist spot. We ordered the famous crab melt with fries, a tuna melt, clam chowder and fish and chips. Everyone LOVED their food. I just wasn't a fan of the sauce on the crab melt. It made it soggy for me. I'd definitely return to try another favorite.

Just across from the church, a lengthy queue of folks stood outside a dining establishment. We didn't know what kind of restaurant it was until we noticed the Filipino Christmas lantern/"parol" hanging on the window. After a week of cruising, we made it our goal to eat at this restaurant. Since we docked early in the morning and the restaurant opens at 7am, we did not wait that long outside around 8am. There were only less than 10 people in line. We only waited less than 15 minutes. There were at least 20 people outside by the time we left before 9am. The interior Filipino household-themed decoration brought back so many memories. White Chicken Adobo Silog | Never heard of this type of "silog" before. Silog is a Filipino dish combination consists of fried rice ("SInangag") and egg ("itLOG"). I got so excited to try it since it's one of the weekly specials' menu items. I was debating between this and Salmon Silog, but I've also never tried white chicken adobo. The chicken was succulent and tender, allowing it to flake off effortlessly with a fork. The generous helping of garlic fried rice was heavenly. Couldn't ask anything more from this dish. Turon | The wrapper were coated with almost like spun sugar instead of being fried in sugar, which made this turon not overly sweet. The plantain that was completed well with halaya filling was soft and cooked well. Menu: In addition to various protein/silog meals, there were also pancakes and omelettes. Service: Eating at this restaurant feels like home. The cashier and service were nice and friendly. We were also attended by Tito Greg the owner of the restaurant. He roamed the dining area, greeting each guest with humor and genuine humility. Parking: There's a big garage by Pike's, unsure how much parking rate was at the time. Since we just came back from the cruise port, we just from there to the restaurant. Highly Recommend!

It was your typical average latte. I did like how strong it was and it came with a kitty paw! (Barista said he was inspired by his cats that morning lol). I tried both sweet and savory dutch babies, and even though I'm a savory person, I liked the sweet one better. It was creamy and bread was soft! The fruits added the perfect texture and sweetness to it. The savory was okay, keep in mind this is also my first time trying a dutch baby, but I would have liked it to have more veggies maybe? I think I was expecting more of it but it was mid to me. The breakfast plate wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Just your basic breakfast plate. The place is super cute and a bit small! It was a sunny morning so we had a lot of light coming through which I loved!

They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. It was quite busy which we anticipated, so I would highly recommend making a reservation. We were seated right away with our reservation time, but it did take some time to be served. I enjoyed the hot coffee with a bit of cream. It was good; my only comment is that I wasn't offered a refill at any point, and we were there for over an hour. To be fair, it was SUPER busy; like at least 100 people in the dining room. I had one of their seasonal specials, the peaches and cream Swedish pancakes. It was a generous portion included with a trip to the berry bar. The berry bar was very fresh and well maintained as far as cleanliness. It was also in a prime location, near the tables but not too close and not in the way of the walking path. The peaches were juicy and sweet and the cream cheese frosting was a decadent topping. I added some berries which made it extra special. I liked the caramel shards, but they were a little on the thick side for my liking and were a bit tough to eat. However, I really enjoyed the dish overall! I also got a side of peppered bacon which was well-cooked, crispy, and extra peppery. My friend got the classic French toast and a side of potatoes. She loved the French toast with the included berry bar trip! However, the potatoes were cut into HUGE pieces which were difficult to eat even though they were cooked through. I would definitely come back here! If you're looking for a popular brunch spot with delicious sweet brunch options, check on Portage Bay Cafe SLU!
