Lowells Famous Fish & Chips
Andrew Y.

The restaurant is three levels with one being a bar and another being the sit down portion. Service took a little bit, but they are quite busy so it's understandable. I ordered a cup of clam chowder ($10) as well as the fish and chips ($25). I also tried their mimosa and a Fuji apple cider. The cider was absolutely delicious and you can definitely taste the apple and for 8/9 dollars I think it was very good. The mimosa was $13 and it was quite strong but still bearable. The clam chowder was just OK. It wasn't anything special and living in the Bay Area, I have had clam chowder that was better. The fish and chips were also pretty good. Not the juiciest I've ever had, but I do like the outside breading being like a Panko breading rather than one smooth layer Overall, I would rate this place a 5.7/10. The restaurant has a good view. The food is all right. The drinks were good. I just don't think that they were worth the price. I don't think I would come again due to the value, but I would definitely try just to say I've been here

Basic clam chowder. Nothing spectacular and crab omelette did not satisfy. Needs more flavor.

Visiting from out of state & We passed by several times and it always had a line out waiting. Finally were able to stop in early on a Saturday morning but everything we ordered was meh. I think it's more of the experience to get a chance to eat but their flavor is allowed to be mid bc of where they are located. We ordered a crab omelet and cup of clam chowder. Clam chowder was basic, it was fine. Crab omelet had such a big lump of crab in it but nothing else. I think it would have been better if had sautéed veggies or something to give it a wow! It was a lump of crab mixture with egg. Neither of us liked. Hashbrowns were great ! We also ordered mimosas and Bloody Marys and they were fine too.

Came here for some clam chowder. Chowder was thick, creamy, well seasoned, and delicious. The view was great too. The cashier was a bit terse and unfriendly but the servers were great! Dont know if id be back but was a great cup of chowder with a view.

Great service, great views and good food. The calamari is melt in your mouth, the fries were rubber and I wanted to not have to eat the one I did. The crab cakes were meaty more than bread and the chowder was good, but could use more clams.

This was one of the few restaurants at pike place that was open fairly early on a Sunday. The employee at the entrance was friendly and gave us the rundown: order at the counter and if you dine in, sit on the first or third floor & your meal will be delivered to your table. The 2nd floor has a bar and table service. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder and their Dungeness crab Benedict at the counter and chose a table on the 3rd floor. Had a great view of the bay. Is this a tourist trap? Yes. Expensive? Yes. The chowder was ok, used a bit of Tabasco sauce to add some heat and flavor. The Benedict was served with toast and hash browns. It was just ok as well, definitely not worth the hefty $40 price tag.

DELISH fish n' chips, def comin' back for this again

Probably the best cooked fish I've ever had in a fish n' chips dish. it was melt-in-your-mouth, OMG. chowder was good too. view are great but most importantly, service was off the hook. front of house was also rockin' it. I'm not sure what's up w the negative reviews. these guys are BUSY & do an amazing job. would def return for the fish n' chips next time I'm in Seattle :)

Pike Place Fish Market was definitely on my Seattle bucket list! I knew I had to try some seafood for lunch. This place is huge, but we stumbled upon Lowell's. The clam chowder caught my eye. We ordered downstairs and headed up to the 3rd floor, hoping for a nice view. The stairs were a bit scary, with servers running up and down, balancing huge trays. We managed to snag the best table for two with a window seat. It took a while to get our food, but it was worth the wait. The Fish & Chips were fantastic--the fish was crunchy, tasty, and delicious. Portion good for two. The clam chowder was super creamy with a good amount of clams. The meal at Lowell's made for a wonderful day at Pike Place.

First time in Seattle and heard great things about this place so my family had to try it out. Love their policy on how you're not allowed to save tables. You have to order first and then the hostess directs you to seating on the first or third levels. The second level is a well stocked bar. We were seated on the third floor and had an amazing view of the Seattle Waterfront. When our plates arrived, they were very large portions. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. There are so many dishes to try we will definitely be back for more.

Great location right at Pike Market- ordering counter downstairs with some seating, but upstairs- that's table service with a view! We weren't sat at the window, we were one table in- but the views were lovely. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and John got the fish-n-chips. The clam chowder was good, but I have most certainly had better and right around the corner. The fish and chips were perfect. John and I shared everything and he agreed with my assessment. Service was fast and friendly. I can't remember if there was an elevator- but be careful on the stairs, the servers are carrying huge trays of food up- I yielded to them.

Great king salmon bagel and lox. Very friendly service that helped out. It was crowded but everything at pikes place is and this is a touristy stop. Beautiful views from the general seating.

Stopped by Lowell's Restaurant while at Pike Place and grabbed a table on the second floor--highly recommend doing that if you can. The view alone is worth it. The chowder was the perfect way to kick off our time in Seattle and the breakfast tacos were solid. Nothing overcomplicated, just good, satisfying food. The decor leans very maximalist--lots going on, but it works for the space and adds to the whole Pike Place energy. The staff was quick and efficient, very no-nonsense, which fits the pace of the atmosphere. Great spot to sit, eat, and take in the view while you're in the middle of everything.

The food was amazing 1000/10 ! The views are nice and it is perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. I like how you can grab a seat then go get drinks at the bar. Perfect choice for our Seattle day.

View from top floor

Fish and chips were amazing! Also get the espresso martini with baileys. We came on a Saturday and the wait wasn't bad pretty views of the pier on the top floor!

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Outside seating is first come first serve and inside seating you have to see a hostess. We started outside and saw someone leaving and circle them like vultures. We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!

Burgers are well constructed on paper and well photographed but lack any flavor. The burger appeared to be a preshaped frozen patty, nowhere near a medium temperature; nothing close to pink inside but not burned. Why bother asking?? I had a fig, arugula, and goat cheese burger. Sounded amazing. None of the veggies had any flavor whatsoever and the burger itself was mid at best. The goat cheese was the only thing with taste. Oh and the server was constantly staring at the girls passing by with hardly a concern for anything happening at the table or anywhere in his immediate vicinity . I can't say I can expect much more from a 21 year old frat boy with nothing to say but one liners. But honestly I don't really care about that much. Is what it is. I was most offended by the sharp contrast between image and taste. This is an extremely generic pseudo-gastropub with subpar food, an okay beer list, and a great photographer. Instagram restaurant? Wrong priorities in my opinion. Save yourself the time and if you want a good burger go to Big Time. I hear shake shack is good too. They did have a dog-friendly patio and were mostly cordial. I appreciated that.

DUOMO PINK! 4.8…read more The restaurant can be a little tricky to find, tucked away in an alley with no signage to guide you. It felt a bit like hunting for a hidden restaurant or speakeasy, with both of us keeping our eyes peeled for the elusive "pink" door. I had imagined a bright, eye-catching pink, but the actual door was a soft, milky pink set against a gray building. I later learned that its color was inspired by the tiles of the Duomo in Florence, Italy. We had reservations and arrived early, just before the restaurant opened for lunch. Two lines were already forming: one for guests with reservations and another for walk-ins. As the minutes passed, the walk-in line grew exponentially. I distinctly remember thinking, 1) This place must be really good, and 2) Thank goodness we made reservations! Once inside, I was surprised by the restaurant's sheer size and variety of dining spaces, each with its own personality and vibe. The options included a lounge and bar area featuring a rotating lineup of scheduled performers/musicians, several indoor dining rooms, and an al fresco dining area on the view deck overlooking the bustling street below, Pike Place Market, and Elliott Bay. We dined in one of the indoor dining rooms, which was bathed in natural light. Seated beside one of the large hopper windows, we opened it slightly to let in the fresh ocean air. Our order included: *Hot Lemon Tea ~ A comforting beverage to start our meal. *La Fettunta ~ Crispy, buttered garlic bread. We hadn't realized that complimentary bread and butter were included with the meal, so we ordered this as an extra. We're certainly glad we did! The irresistible crispness was perfect, and it paired beautifully with our pasta dishes. *Antipasto of the House ~ An assortment of prosciutto, Tuscan bean salad, fresh mozzarella, tapenade, grilled vegetables, and salumi. A lovely medley of flavors to begin our Italian lunch. *Linguine Alle Vongole ~ Baby clams in their shells, pancetta, garlic, chilies, and white wine. So fresh and absolutely delicious! The clams, paired with garlic and white wine, made this dish especially memorable. *Pappardelle al Ragù Bolognese ~ Slow-simmered meat sauce finished with Parmigiano-Reggiano. I sampled my husband's dish and especially loved the broad ribbons of pappardelle, cooked to perfection and ideal for catching every bit of that rich, savory sauce. Between the sweeping views, delicious food, attentive service, and lively, upbeat energy, this restaurant has so much to offer. The atmosphere was every bit as memorable as the meal itself. It's places like this that make traveling such a joy, turning an ordinary lunch into a delightful experience and another memorable chapter in our adventures!
