This is a great little bar with AMAZING food. Met a friend here. Very dark. Lots of wood and curtains. Service CE was spot on. I had the Sheppard pie and it was phenomenal. Totally get it! I hope to be back. read more

We stopped for dinner not knowing anything about this place, other than its high Yelp rating, and we're so glad we did! It was a busy Friday evening, so we grabbed seats at the bar, best choice ever! Lisa, the bartender, was amazing, and so was the rest of the crew. We enjoyed the greatest prickly pear margarita and an Orange Cream beer, and our dinner was simply outstanding! We highly recommend this spot! read more

Attempted to finally try this place since the pictures of the food always look so good on Yelp. However, my partner and I arrived and stood at the door while numerous workers walked past us, back and forth with absolutely no acknowledgment. We've both worked in restaurants and know how important it is to at least say, "someone will be right with you." They're also taking names on a clipboard w paper and it seems the worker handling it was just as confused himself and didn't bother to speak to us, just went along looking for someone else to seat from his list, couldn't even ask our names. Finally after another couple arrives, we hope the increased action at the door will get someone's attention. It does but he completely skips over us and asks for their information. After doing so he then looks to us, and we decide to leave because that set the tone for how the rest of the evening would go if we chose to stay. Safe to say the customer service is horrible the minute you walk through the doors. Sad. read more

Have been to Lovecraft several times and the food is always good. Service is great! It's fun to sit on the outside patio on the 2nd floor. A bit noisy during rush hour traffic on Cactus, but later it's great! read more

We were traveling and saw NM Mexican food here so we dropped in. The nachos with smoked chicken were INCREDIBLE! So tasty! The "Las Cruces white sauce" for enchiladas isn't like Andeles (iykyk) but it was ok. Go for the nachos and stuff with their smoked meats! Our server was great - super friendly and attentive. He also had the whitest teeth I've ever seen. I gave him a 50% tip he was so wonderful. Also, the inside is very interesting. Lots of unique elements - ADHD dream. read more

Interesting restaurant. Love the upstairs outdoor deck they have. I think I came here for my first dinner in AZ. Love the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. I could eat a dozen of these. I ordered the taco platter. 3 tacos. I forgot which ones I got but remember two of them were pulled pork. Good food. Good service and good ambiance. read more

I don't normally come to the area but since I was here doing other things I decided to check out the vegan options on the area. I was happy to see that Love craft had a vegan menu which I really appreciated. I decided to try 2 things of the menu. Impossible burger with hatch green chile, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, spicy aioli & fries. The burger was nice & juicy but way too many fries I ate maybe half. Plant based chimmi with spicy hatch green chile jackfruit, cheese, guacamole, & frijoles. I was hoping it would have been spicier but I just added some peppa sauce. Overall everything was pretty good. They have a cool rooftop dog friendly patio so next time I will go there for dine in. read more

Went tonight sat on rooftop patio. The drink service was so slow because they had one, very nice, waiter upstairs taking drink orders and he had to walk up and down the stairs. Good ambience upstairs, but frustrating service. Food was good, all in all, a unique place but always understaffed and seems lacking in authenticity. read more

Went in for cocktails and an app and it came to $80 which seems high. App was good and cocktails flowed well. Service was a little slow on the roof but I do think they had issues with their internet to be fair. Roof top patio was cool great views and setting. Overall underwhelming read more

Have been numerous times, good service, great cocktails and the food is great! Highlights are the meatloaf, the lobster bisque, the green chili Mac & cheese (tip: add a side of brisket) and on Sundays - the Chicken... oh yeah, the chicken! read more

BEST place to eat E-V-E-R! From service to food to the atmosphere! This is the first place I head when friends come to town and the last place I have them visit to make sure they have a lasting memory! Service is ALWAYS perfect, but Daren just might be my favorite!! read more

To think my friend and I stumbled across this GEM because of the chandelier is an understatement! The atmosphere was calm and welcoming! We went around 2pm on Sunday, we ate rooftop and enjoyed both the Nachos and fries! The only issue was a piece of hair that was within the nachos, which was handled decently, however the remake of the nachos were different than the original. Overall check it out and let me know what you enjoy! read more

Obviously, a busy place with a lot of return customers. Lots... There's open-air dining topside and a swanky, more-or-less dark lower floor. Puppy friendly, we chose the upper deck. Traffic noise occasionally made conversation a challenge, but it wasn't bad. The menu is filled with culinary treasures for those that take good food seriously: excellent happy hour selections on food and adult beverages. Their nachos are truly unique and well worth sampling. The menu selection had something for everyone, and it was difficult to make a choice -- so we'll have to return (soon) to try out some of the other Southwestern/Mexican dishes. Don't look at their dessert menu.too many willpower challenges, making this a struggle. Fortunately, better judgment and recent efforts to trim down won out and we had to leave without indulging ourselves and our sweet-tooth. (The Lavacake almost won the battle, but it will soon get a try for someone's approaching birthday.) Did I mention that service was excellent...?e read more

The BBQis great but the dessert is why I came the first time. My husband picked up an entire cheesecake from them for my birthday last week. You've NEVER had Anything like this!! Ginger snap crust with rosemary infused goat cheesecake topped with lavender honey. The melding of those flavors take you to another place!! It's unique and memorable! read more

Didn't try the food, but stopped in for a drink. Such dark and moody ambiance! We had great service as well, and ordered based on recommendations. I still think the selling point is their second story open patio area, can't wait to try it someday! read more

10/10. No notes. The atmosphere is perfect, the rooftop at sunset was sublime. The food was incredible, the prime rib quesadillas were so tasty. The cocktails were fabulous and the service was top notch. Shout out to Trevor! Will definitely be back again. read more

We had dinner here last night. We added our name to the virtual waitlist. And everything was smooth, the service is great, the servers were attentive and not overbearing. The food took a bit long to get to use but the management comped us a drink for the wait time. The FOOD.... Amazing. The prime rib was HUGE and delicious. The tacos were very good, the rice was a bit dry but with the beans it was very good. We also had the guacamole which was also good. It was a bit hard for me to find something on the menu since almost everything they have is spicy and I just don't do spicy. The place is very charming, and a nice vibe inside. Our friends just bought a house around the corner so I am sure we'll be back again. read more

Its great how many places are now accommodating for vegan and plant based diets. I sort of expected a brewery before I visited the first time, but was surprised when I found a swanky cocktail bar when I walked in. It's really their own fault for putting the word *craft in their name :-D I've been to lots of places offering a plant based menu and lovecraft makes a tasty Jackfruit. We had ordered a jackfruit burrito and a mushroom chimichanga. I'm not naturally a mushroom fan, so don't take my lack of enthusiasm as a bad dish, just a personal dislike for mushrooms in general, but I did taste it and it wasn't, horrible. Burrito was decent Beans were decent enough Blueberry mojito was super tasty. Over all a good offering of vegan options at a non-plant based restaurant. Definitely a place I'll suggest if I've got both meat and non meat eaters! read more

Updated review for 6/2024. The food was exceptional and completely on point. Has been a few years since I have been here and the food is still fantastic As in years past, the service was lackluster. There were exactly 10 people in the restaurant on this Sunday afternoon. The waitresses were very polite and only semi-attentive. You can smell the depth of smoke from 10' away. Delicious.... Your outside sign makes people think you are a porn shop. Change the sign at this busy intersection. Looking forward to enjoying the yet, unexplored happy hour menu. read more

This was our first visit to Lovecraft, and I was so impressed! The atmosphere is super chill but still feels special -- the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. The staff and management were awesome -- super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was next-level! We tried the bacon-wrapped jalapeños (a must!), Maaaaa's Meatloaf (so flavorful and comforting), and finished with their cheesecake, which was the perfect ending. Everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. You can tell the whole team here really cares about what they do. Between the amazing food, great service, and fun vibe, this is definitely a new favorite. Can't wait to come back! read more

Lovecraft's décor and ambiance are cool, yet romantic vibe with vintage touches, a speakeasy feel, and a dog-friendly rooftop patio. It strikes a balance between casual neighborhood hangout and elevated craft-bar destination. Now for the food- If I were to sum it up: Lovecraft is simply great in food and drink, especially if you're in the mood for something beyond the usual skip-into-one-of-many bars. read more

This was my first time going there. I had to sit at the bar, as the place was packed. A good sign, I THOUGHT. The friendly professional Staff seated me and took my order right away. So far so good. As they were out of the prime rib steak, (...oh well) I just got the Brisket Enchiladas. Here's where I went sideways. It took WELL over half an hour to get my food and I just have to ask you the Reader, HOW DO YOU SCREW UP ENCHILADAS? Well, here's how. Everything on the plate, the beans, rice, as well as the enchiladas, weren't cold-cold but were BARELY above room temperature. The only thing hot was the brisket meat INSIDE the enchiladas. Serving size seems small for the price as well. I told my waiter, when he asked how the food was. He told me "Sorry that happened" and although he seemed genuine in his concern, he moved right on and still didn't offer to fix it AND charged me full price. Sad first impression for certain. I was hungry so I ate about a quarter of it and boxed the rest to heat up at home. I thought it will probably will taste pretty good hot.....after I actually HEAT IT UP tomorrow....and IT WAS. (I'll attach a couple of photo of what I brought home.) So in a nutshell, I spent over $42 for a sad, cold, small plate of two Enchiladas, as well as a couple tablespoons of beans and rice AND ONE (1) VERY GOOD 16 oz glass of beer. Future Patrons BEWARE!!! read more

My first time at Lovecraft, I had heard lots of good things about this restaurant and being a regular at 32 Shea I was anxious to go there. Went on a Saturday night at 6:00 pm, it was busy and the regular parking lot was full so I parked in the last parking space in the fenced in lot behind. Being a party of 2 we were immediately seated which was nice. I ordered the Peach Mimosa, it had Prosecco was very fragrantly peach scented and the flair was sweet and delicious with the requisite bubbles. I would definitely order this cocktail again. We ordered the Mushroom tacos and Meatloaf. They were both good. My only criticism is that our entrees took very long to arrive. Our waitress apologized several times and I overheard the table of 4 who were already on their second round of cocktails complain that their entrees hadn't arrived when our did. The restaurant was full, and even the barstools but given the time 6:15 or so I feel that they should have been able to get entrees out in a more timely fashion. Typically I am a little cold in most restaurants but Lovelcraft was entirely too warm. The ceiling fans were in but I noticed other patrons had all taken their coats off. It was strange because a lot of restaurants lately are turning their thermostats down as a cost savings due to the economy, but I feel that either there isn't enough adequate ventilation or the thermostat was set too high The ambience is dark and cozy and the mood is relaxed, certainly nothing ostentatious and the locals seem loyal. I would love to go back when it's warmer weather to be seated on the rooftop patio and experience that vibe. read more

Dined here recently and was not impressed by the amount of time it took to get our drinks, took to get our food or the quality of the BBQ brisket I had. We waited an hour to get our food once ordered. Yes they were busy, however, my brisket had very dry almost crunchy peices of meat on the plate. Just not something I would expect for a place that smokes all their own meat on-site. Easily took 15 minutes just to get our drinks. Love the vibe and esthetics though and wait staff was polite and knowledgable. Maybe it was an off night. read more

I don't understand all the great reviews. This is an okay restaurant trying to be something it's not. The decor says it's a date night spot, except for the TVs everywhere and a massive, glowing beer fridge. Food is a mix of steak house, BBQ, and New Mexican (extra points for the plant-based offerings). It'd be awesome if they leaned into the bottle shop/New Mexican vibe, turned up the lights, and lost the crystals and velvet! My husband loved his carne adovada. My BBQ plate was fine, except for the incredibly tart vinegar slaw (like sipping on straight white vinegar). At least the fries were tasty? My cocktail was gross and they wouldn't take it off the bill. No, thanks. read more

Great food, service pretty good. i had the prime rib quesadilla, which sounds a little weird but it was exquisite. Great vibe. a little slow getting our drinks but it's not called perfectcraft ; ). I love lovecraft. Keep on truckin' and push those drinks out a little quicker. mahalo read more

This was fine. I don't know that it is worth the money. My husband's adovada was 80% cabbage. My green chile burger was goopy and wasn't that satisfying. The queso fries, I just did not enjoy, as they are so goopy. The bacon-wrapped cream cheese-filled jalapeno appetizer was probably the best thing we got, but it was outrageously salty. My baby's chicken tacos were so small for $7. Environment is pretty sexy though, and the waitress was professional. But overall, it's not a place I'd outright think to recommend. read more

Fantastic food and amazing service! The Prime rib French dip was so delicious and the house salsa was delicious enough to purchase some to take home. I really appreciated the staff being so kind and accommodating to a mom with a service dog & baby stroller. Even though my dogs clearly working in uniform and it's technically illegal to ask me what service he provides or if I could sit outside it happens all the time. It was soooooo refreshing to be welcomed in without the uncomfortable run down. Food wise it was one of the best meals we have had in Arizona yet! The goat cheese, lavender cheesecake with rosemary crystallized, honey on top is one of my new favorite desserts to date! Ambience was so cute! The decor was very Alice in Wonderland meets warm and cozy atmosphere inside and I can't wait to try their rooftop chandelier patio another time. it was worth mentioning that the owner was there when we were eating and she seemed so happy and kind to all of her stuff that's so refreshing! We will be back soon to try and get their Sunday fried chicken special as it was sold out! read more

Delicious foods and huge beer selection. We also think the owners are very creative and super locally focused.

I was very excited to try this place because of the reviews and pictures of the food. The ambiance was really cool and different inside and the service was good. I would say that if you don't like spicy food, this place probably isn't for you because there's very little non-spicy dishes. And if the dish has a pepper next to it, they can't guarantee how spicy it will be. For me, that's fine, but not for my boyfriend, so he was limited. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, and the sauce was definitely home mad and spicy. My boyfriend got the bbq plate with pork and it was ok. Playing was a bit off, kind of giving a kids meal plate sort of vibe. The pork was good but a little dry. The slaw was strong with the vinegar and the fries were cold. I wouldn't recommend this plate but yes to the enchiladas. read more
