I have come to Los tacos maybe 5 or 6 times over the past year and have enjoyed it each time. I have high standards for Mexican food and think that this place is in the upper echelon of the Temecula scene. Al pastor pretty solid here. What really gets me is their salsa bar. Don't skip out on the yellow salsa, that stuff absolutely smacks. Even better are their pickled red onion. Genuinely impressive onions. They also have roasted peppers. I have to say I've driven by Los Tacos a hundred times saying gotta hit this place. Well here we are taco Tuesday so I'm there. Cute little place with probably 8 or 9 tables and a bar that would seat 4 at the window. Plenty of parking, very big lot no issues there. Not too busy maybe 3 people in front of me to order. After ordering they give you a number on a stick and then bring you the food. If you put money in the tip jar they ring a bell. Self service soda, no beer. There is a little lady at the front making home made tortillas, pretty cool. I had 2 Carne Asada tacos and one carnitas. They were both good. The wife had al pastor and Carne Asada tacos with chips. She thought the Carne Asada was too chewy, I was good with it. I had to go back and get a 4th taco, it was carnitas and a little oily more than the first ones. In addition to tacos they have burritos. I was talking to some customers and they tell me they're pretty good. They do not have dessert. They have an A rating and I like that. Good service. We tried this place for the first time tonight for taco Tuesday. Tacos are $1.50 a piece (usual price starts at $2.20). It was pretty good. This is a small eat in or take out restaurant. They make their own corn tortillas, which makes for really good chips and soft street tacos. Pastor is grilled on a spit and is very tasty. The pastor taco comes with a chunk of pineapple. The carne asada was chewy and too well done. Carnitas were tasty, but the taco was really greasy. The salsa bar is loaded with good toppings and salsas that range from mild to very spicy. On Friday, January 15th, 2021 I decided to have Mexican food at Los Tacos. I ordered a Cheese Steak Burrito for $11.10 at 11:25 am. Nine minutes later my order was ready. What I received was a Burrito placed in a "Brown Paper Bag" with no aluminum foil around the Burrito itself! I was shocked, no health concern to cover the food for the customer from the server. First time coming to Los Tacos but definitely won't be last! I came in with my friend to get something quick. I ended up getting the California Burrito which was sooo good!!! Definitely exceeded my expectations. I ordered through the door dash app and I was able to get it fairly quick. I got the burrito without the pico de gallo, that was put on the side. Food I would give them 5/5, service 5/5, cleanliness 3/5. There are few things they can improve on, their bathrooms could be cleaner. Something that was annoying was the music, it was ridiculously loud!! I dont think that's necessary because people can't even hear each other talking. They also had a huge bell that they rang it and it was very very loud and I didnt think that was nice. The food though, I highly recommend because taste was great and quality. Stood in front of her patiently waited to get an attitude of "what do you want, do you need something". This was after she was done with her own personal transaction. The carnitas warrants this place this rating. By far the best flavors of the tacos I had. I also tried the pastor, lengua, and chorizo. Lengua here was subpar in my opinion. These people discriminate against white people! I went to los tacos On Cinco de Mayo to pick up some tacos for my family. I ordered six tacos 3 Carnitas and 3 El Pastore. They charged me $20.90 for the six tacos. The nice Hispanic man behind me ordered five tacos. It was charged $10. I saw him pay the bill with his credit card. I then asked the man behind the counter why he charged me $20 for six tacos? He said, would you like to order some more tacos with a smirk on his face and then laughed. The Hispanic man behind me said that's not right. And then he spoke in Spanish to the man behind the counter. I asked him what he said, and he replied I told him that he ripped you off. How can one person get charged 10 bucks for five tacos and another man get charged $20 for six tacos? I said to the man behind the counter return my order. Los Tacos has been serving up consistently excellent food for years. I used their catering services for my baby shower two years ago. I've never had a bad experience here. My last visit was this past Sunday (8.16), and the food was on par with every other visit even prior to the pandemic. Service was a little slower, which is to be expected right now. We came here on taco Tuesday which happened to fall on Cinco de Mayo, they were PACKED. I don't believe they were ready for it. There was a line out the door, complaining customers, Grub Hub and Post Mates waiting to get their order to deliver, a complete mad house. We waited an hour for our food.
