El Ranchito Taco Shop - Mexican Near Me - Temecula, California

Monday, 8-17-2027: After a dear friend tricked me into visiting Michelle's Place, she suggested this eatery as it's one of her favorite places. It's clean, brightly painted with murals and bigger than it looks. They offer a big selection of Mexican food that it was hard to choose. I settled on the 3 rolled taquitos plate with rice & beans. The staff were very friendly and polite. We enjoyed the tasty food and I will more than likely return. read more

My husband went and picked up some Taco meals today, we got 2 Chicken Taco meals with beans and rice as our sides. The Chicken Taco's were so much smaller than we've previously had been, and we ordered guacamole on the tacos, and they barely put any in them and we couldn't hardly taste it. Also, they hardly filled the beans and rice. We've been eating here for a long time, and I'd hate to have to find a New Taco shop. read more

I had the Carne Asada Fries and the California Burrito (I know the same thing) both times I felt amazing, the food is great, the service and employees are phenomenal and the whole cozy vibe of the place makes meals there excellent wether you're eating there or waiting to go just know you'll be taken care of. read more

The tacos were so delicious and everything was fresh. They have a good selection of tacos and different plates to try. The salsa bar has a lot of different hot sauces to choose, even onions and jalapeño. The service is fast and friendly and very helpful. The place has expandable it's size, which now includes a bar area to watch your favorite sports. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing to just hang out and get a couple of cold beers. read more

The menudo is still on point! They keep it real when you order takeout by giving you all the trimmings to create the perfect bowl of joy, and even give you your choice of corn or flour tortillas piping hot wrapped in foil. The tripe is really tender, and the broth is delicious! This place has Menudo 7 days a week! Give it a try! Great friendly service . read more

I get it was after breakfast hours but I've never had a chorizo burrito as dry as this. Tasted nothing like chorizo. You can do better. But until then, I'll get my burritos from somewhere else. What a disappointment. I make better chorizo burritos than this. read more

El Ranchito Taco Shop - You can do better with your chorizo burrito. I get it , it was after breakfast hours but geez. Tasted nothing like chorizo and dry. - Mexican Near Me - Temecula, California

Looking for the best breakfast burrito in the area brings me here today. El Ranchito is convenient enough to get to, though parking can be a struggle. It's simply named Taco Shop outside, which is simple and to the point, but I would have never known there was more to the name. Inside is clean, organized and the staff is very friendly. The salsa bar is right at the front counter next to the soda fountain and has 5 different salsas to choose from. Only the hottest offering has any heat and it's very manageable, sensitive tongues should be fine up to the medium with no problem. Decent flavors but nothing too exciting unfortunately. I went with the Bacon Breakfast Burrito to try and was looking to try the California Breakfast Burrito, but the inclusion of beans took me back to the baseline to go for a better comparison to others I've tried. The weight felt right, despite the size being slightly smaller than others in town. The beans were tasty, but there was a lot; it was more to the point of feeling like I got a bean and cheese burrito with egg and bacon. The egg is "scrambled" on the griddle so it has more the texture of a fried egg than a fluffy scrambled egg. Bacon was definitely present, but lost in the soup of beans. Overall: 4.5 For the restaurant, it is clean, simple, good seating and the menu is fairly priced with good variety 5.0 for the service, customer interactions were top notch and kitchen produced quickly 3.5 for the burrito. Tasty but not my preference for breakfast. Maybe the Cali Breakfast Burrito is their Star, but with beans and fries I'm a little skeptical. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered a beef burrito asked to get cheese instead of beans and rice. was told i couldn't do that I would have to pay for the cheese I said OK just put the beans and rice on the side. They said we can't do that. I was like what? it comes with beans and rice. I just want them on the side. She said no you have to get in the burrito or you don't get it. what kind of place refuses give you something that is included with what you buy? read more

Love this place! I've been coming here for just a touch over 10 years now and the customer service is consistently amazing, the place is clean, well lit, and festive decor. The food is always 10/10 best Carne asada fries in Temecula! I also just recently found out it is owned and operated by a local Temecula family and that just makes me want to support it even more! Must try! read more

Love the Poway location, and this is just as good. El Ranchito does a good job with taco shop cuisine. Many options, great salsa bar and lots of yellow cheese. The atmosphere was nice. For a taco shop it definitely felt like a sit down restaurant. - Their Carne Asada burritos are prepared in a crispy, dry fashion, which is how I prefer it. Nothing is worse than when biting into a carne asada burrito and having juice go all over your shirt. read more

We've frequented this location not because it's the closest or the most convenient but because it was the best. Because I drive a bit further, I always ask to have the meat put on the side of my taco salad so my shell isn't mushy when I got home. Today, the cashier who was super nice asked the "manager"/cook if they would do that and they refused. He even asked a second time and they wouldn't do it. It's not a crazy request. I even offered to pay for the container and he said no. It's unfortunate when simple requests such as this can't be done. I guess we will be looking for a new taco shop. read more

I ordered the chicken flautas. They arrived hot, just fried. Served with sour cream and cheese. The chicken was totally blanked tasted like boiled chicken no flavor at all. I wouldn't recommend this dish. They seem to get planets of business so maybe I ordered the wrong item. The salsa bar was open to help yourself, though I tried 3 of the salsas they were all pretty bland , even the hot one wasn't hot to me. Oh also I found a toothpick in my food , once I bit into it , something that should have been removed before serving read more

Ordered the fish tacos as I have wanted to try this place for a while. The employees are friendly and helpful. The food was substantial and as much as I wanted to love it, it just fell flat. No seasoning, flavor and I was disappointed by the breaded imitation fish fillets in my tacos. They were dry and tasteless. The rice and beans were bland. The El Ranchito is one of the best Taco shops in town. Their California burrito is packed with stuff and will quickly fill you up in no time. It comes with shredded tender carne asada, Spanish rice, fries, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and soft flour tortilla. Other long-time favorites are the carnitas on a soft taco and crispy rolled tacos or taquitos. There are also assorted spicy sauces in their condiment bar that will enhance the food in every bite. read more

We LOVE their shredded beef crunchy tacos...SO good. They're PACKED with beef...and just the right amount of cheese and lettuce. My husband loves these tacos the most--in Temecula. And believe me...we've gotten tacos everywhere. If you love menudo or want to try it for the first time--THIS IS WHERE YOU GO. It is DELICIOUS. It's so flavorful, served all week long so you know it's good. The restaurant is clean. Paintings are beautiful. Salsa bar has about five different types--mild to hottt. The pickled carrots are bomb. The service is FAST and so nice. Recommend eating in because it's key to the perfect tacos and hot menudo. read more

I love El Ranchito's food. I would tell everyone it's the best taco shop around. The staff are generally friendly and not terrible long wait times. Ive eaten El Ranchito (various locations) for 15 years or so. I've ordered just about everything on the menu. Their carne asada is good, the chicken is good (probably best taco shop pollo asado around), their salsas are good, no complaints about their food. BUT their prices over the last like 2 years have just gotten too high. I know inflation is hitting everyone and everywhere but a once $7 special is now $13 is just getting out of hand. $12+ burritos. $10 potato breakfast burrito. You can easily spend Mexican restaurant money at this taco shop, which just is too much. Again, I'm not oblivious of inflation, cost of everything on the rise, but most of the prices at El Ranchito have almost doubled in the last couple of years where other restaurants have maybe only 10-20% increases. We still eat here. We still like the food. But it's way more infrequent due to their costs. read more
