There is so much seating available here which is nice indoor, bar area seating and outdoors as well. Always nice to have options. For Temecula, this is great. For Southern California, this is just okay. For the sake of humanity, it will have to do... I go to Texas often and I've learned that texmex is not Mexican good. Living in temecula for a little over a year now, I've learned Mexican food here is hardly Mexican food. In fact, Temecula makes Taco Bell look like authentic Mexican food. Now of all the "mexican" food I've had in temecula this is the best tasting one, but again it doesnt say much. Service is good. Food isn't bad. For the area it's great. I do wish the salsa was sometimes not so spicy (it's supposed to be mild) but I still eat it because the flavors are so good. Authentic Mexican food! They make their own tortillas and it's fun to watch as they roll them out and warm them on the flat grill. Their salsas are fresh and authentic, at least I think so! My most favorite thing from here is their beef rolled tacos, which are three oversized taquitos stuffed with shredded beef and deep fried to a perfect crispness, smothered in shredded lettuce, white cheese, and topped with their homemade guacamole (I pass on the sour cream and ask for extra guacamole). Several years ago they added on a bar area with additional seating. That's a nice option for eat in and to enjoy a beer or cocktail. I ordered two taco asada plates with fries and a chile relleno combo. They never brought the fries. When I asked about it, I was told twice that the tacos don't come with fries. I explained I had added the fries to my order. They made it seem like they were going to do me a favor and give me fries but I pulled up my receipt to show them I had ordered and paid for fries on the side. No need to make your customer feel awkward over a mistake on your end. I was also given a chile relleno burrito instead of a chile relleno combo. This was my first and last time visiting Aztek Tacos. I went in for takeout. I went in specifically because they were one of the only places I could find with tortilla soup. At every Mexican taqueria I have visited and gotten soup, the chicken was shredded and part of the soup. The chicken in this soup had cubed grilled chicken and large chunks of bell pepper. It was not bad but definitely not the best. The service was ok, definitely not done with a smile. What made me even more convinced to not return is that I paid $19 for a cup of soup. Wednesday, 12-17-2024: We came here as a party of five (our grandson with his mom & dad and us, Papa & Yaya) after our grandson's recital. It wasn't too crowded when we entered so I made sure to secure a table ASAP. It's a good thing I did because we had beat the crowd. The eatery is on the small side but it's very clean and the exposed ducting gives it an industrial feel. Our food came out quickly and we found everything to be so flavorful! My Chile Relleno was made well and I savored it! Their chips were very good and we enjoyed the variety of salsas from their salsa bar. The staff were very nice and friendly. My review is more of a 3.5 star. This place has been here for a very long time and the food is and has always been great. Tortillas are made fresh and by hand, but i went recently after not having been in a long time and the prices have become outrageous. Burritos average $16-21 depending on the meat you choose. Tacos are $7-8. If you eat alot of mexican food, you know thats insane. I got 2 tacos priced @ $6.98 each so my total was roughly $14. Again,, for 2 tacos. Yes the food is good and the workers are nice but i cant sanely justify spending $7 for a taco when there are many places that are also great and cheaper, so for that, i wont be back to eat here anymore. read more

Really enjoyed the tacos from Aztek - especially the quesatacos! It's a unique taste to have the taco ingredients wrapped in cooked cheese. The California burrito was yummy as well and the staff were all very kind. I am rarely in Temecula but next time I am, I'll likely stop by again. read more

Once i got it i could tell they weren't serving quality shrimp. They were the small size shrimp hardly seasoned at all. Great service, counter attendant, Taylor, was pleasant and help with questions readily. Needed the breakfast burrito with Chorizo. Sat down at well cleaned dining room and hit the salsa bar. It had a variety of salsas + radishes, onions and lime. Very well done and clean. Taylor, counter attendant, also brought out the food to our table and asked if we needed anything else, now this is good service for a taco shop. I noticed my friend's food smelled really good and asked him where it was from. He said Aztec Tacos. I've lived in Temecula for about 15 years and had only heard of it once, so I figured it was finally time to try it. I ordered the California burrito and was blown away. I've been coming to this place for YEARS AND YEARS and all of a sudden I can't get a taco by itself and you can only order it in packs of 3! The cashier man was super rude when I politely questioned him. I just came last week and got 4 tacos a la carte no problem and have for YEARS. This was at 10:20 in the morning on Monday the 6th. Ended up leaving b/c it felt very weird to me. We love the girl cashiers though, they're the best. This rating is for the new taco rule and for the rude cashier. This place is already expensive so forcing your customers to jump from 3-6 tacos is wild. I also tip every single time I come in and we order from here weekly. Can't afford to drop xtra $$ on 6 tacos as I'm sure a lot of people can't since each taco is around $5. Also what if I just didn't want 6 tacos? read more

Unsanitary conditions. Gang related tagging in the bathroom which never gets cleaned up. Food is too overpriced when they're pretty much pulling more than 80% profit margin for food that is mediocre at best. Staff is extremely rude and profiled my wife and I. Went out of their way to get my vehicle towed from a parking lot that wasn't near their business when i was given permission by the tire shop nearby to park there and work on it. I feel there is an organized crime ring that they must be related to and associating with. Bathroom is filthy and always understocked. My wife asked for water for her meal and was given a half cup and told to leave, mocking her for getting rid of our vehicle. Very unnecessary and I will be reporting them to higher up bureaus. read more

Stopped by here to grab a quick lunch before going camping in temecula. I think overall the food were just okay and nothing special. The tacos were pretty expensive but not sure what are so special about them. I personally think tacos from taco truck or street tacos taste much better. They have an open sauce station.
